We tell you what we thought of IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD'S FAIR.  This was Jeremy's second Elvis movie he's ever seen.  Not as good as King Creole and kind of an odd one (we thought). ************ KNOW GOOD MUSIC can be found on Podbean (host site), Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Iheart Radio, Pandora and almost anywhere you listen to podcasts.   Be sure to subscribe on apple music / follow on spotify and also you can find us on Instagram (know_good_music) and YouTube (Know Good Music) (where we have some video from our interviews) TURN OFF THE TV TURN UP THE MUSIC! Enterprise Incidents with Scott & Steve

When Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock beam down to a heavily-guarded penal colony with an experimental new drug that may be able to cure the last remaining mental patients in the galaxy, they arrive to find that the lunatics have already taken over the asylum. Leading the charge is Garth of Izar, a former starship fleet captain who is totally off his rocker, but has developed the ability to change his physical appearance and plans to use that power to impersonate Captain Kirk, steal the Enterprise and hunt down his former crew who he feels betrayed him. Whether or not you love "Whom Gods Destroy" depends mostly on your appreciation of guest star Steve Ihnat's over-the-top performance as "Lord" Garth, not to mention Yvonne Craig's sultry turn as his green-skinned sidekick Marta . Otherwise, there's not much to recommend this weak late-3rd Season entry, which plays out more like a radio show and further demonstrates that "Star Trek" had run out of inspiration and was truly on its last legs. “Enter Batgirl, Exit Penguin” (September 14, 1967) The final season of the 1966 live-action Batman series saw the debut of Batgirl, a twirling, high-kicking female hero created to get more  girls invested in the series — and more dads to keep paying attention. But Batgirl’s creators didn’t count on the fact that they were creating the exact kind of character that little gay boys would become obsessed with. Thanks in part to Yvonne Craig’s spot-on performance, Barbara Gordon (a.k.a. Julie Newmar appeared as Catwoman in six two-parters during the first two seasons of Batman. During that time, the show and her character evolved, and while some might not agree with the direction they took, it’s hard to deny that Julie did both the evil, whip-snapping Catwoman and the Batman-besotted, comic Catwoman-of-a-thousand-disguises very well. Then in season three, she was gone and Eartha Kitt took her place. Do many of us find ourselves dissatisfied with Kitt’s very satisfactory version of Catwoman, just because Kitt wasn’t the first to play the role? What different characteristics do we see in the two versions - some of them due to the actors’ choices, and others being beyond their control? Our friend Kyle joins us once again, bringing the power of the “word cloud” to our discussion, discussing our bias toward the first version we see (any who preferrrrr Eartha?), and helping us generally compare and contrast the two takes on the character. Plus a marching-band take on two different Batman themes, and your response to episode 137’s discussion of Yvonne Craig’s memoir! Yvonne Craig’s memoir, From Ballet to the Batcave and Beyond, poses quite a contrast to those by Adam West and Burt Ward. Batman takes up much less space in it, and recountings of sexual adventures take up no space at all. What emerges is a very practical woman who sees herself as a geek, is surprised to find herself typecast as “sexy” as she approaches 40, has plenty of amusing anecdotes (Hollywood-related and otherwise), and would be a joy to sit down to coffee with. We’ve read the book and we review it in this episode. Also, we present audio of ten minutes of Yvonne’s 1967 appearance on the Joey Bishop Show, John Zorn’s non-Hefti tune “Batman”, and your mail about episode 134, “What’s my Crime? We take the week off and leave you with our 2014 interview with 'Batgirl' herself, Yvonne Craig. We were lucky enough to get to talk with Yvonne about how she got her start in acting, her experiences working on 'Star Trek' and 'Batman', and some of her memories of Elvis Presley. You'll get to hear how funny, outspoken, and charming Yvonne was, and why this is one of our favorite interviews to date. If you missed it the first time around, don't miss it this time! Malachi Throne's turn as False Face was one of the oddest villain appearances in the history of the show. Throne was only credited as "?" until the closing credits of part two -- why? Throne gave at least two different stories about this; which should we believe? While William Dozier thought the arc was a failure, and False Face never appeared again, some now regard this one as their favorite. Why? We discuss this question, as well as the mysterious cameo by two people on a subway, how TV False Face differed from False Face in the comics, reflections of '60s America in "Batman", and much more. But first, our somewhat belated farewell to Yvonne Craig...

The Trouble with Tribbles. They're the cutest, most prolific aliens in the Star Trek universe—and also the furriest. They are, of course, Tribbles. And at six credits a head—or a body—they also make for good business. At least that's what Cyrano Jones thought … until the critters got hankerin' for some wheat. “The Trouble with Tribbles” remains one of the most beloved Star Trek episodes nearly 50 years after it aired, and in this episode of The Ready Room we're joined by Matthew Rushing, Andi VanderKolk, and Zachary Fruhling to discuss why that is. In our news segment, we discuss Nichelle Nichols's upcoming NASA flight, Shatner's mosaic tribute to Leonard Nimoy, and Creation's plans for Star Trek's 50th anniversary in Vegas. In their effort to present the most comprehensive coverage of 1960s spy culture, Tom and Derrick begin their examination of some of the spies who gave Bond a run for his money, beginning with the cerebral, eccentric, and suave Derek Flint. Join the Boys From Brooklyn as they look at the adventures of the renaissance man that James Coburn turned into a cult hero, tracing his adventures from Our Man Flint to In Like Flint to the highly obscure, near-forgotten (and with good reason) Flint television pilot, Our Man Flint: Dead on Target. Plus a preview of other episodes in the Rivals of Bond series, Derrick wants Yvonne Craig to shake her money-maker, and a look at the two Flint movies (one written by Harlan Ellison) that never got to the screen. Wipe that look off your Zowie Face and get to clicking!
