At Zoom's annual partner and customer event, Zoomtopia 2024,?ServiceNow?(NYSE: NOW) and Zoom (NASDAQ: ZM) announced an expanded strategic alliance to usher in a new era of intelligence with smarter collaboration and peak productivity across the enterprise. The two companies' generative AI (GenAI) technologies, ServiceNow Now Assist and Zoom AI Companion, will integrate in the first half of 2025 to offer organisations advanced workflow automation for tasks and activities across Zoom and ServiceNow. Organisations are seeing increased demand for AI tools that work across their critical business applications and allow employees to be more productive and keep projects moving forward. As stated by Gartner, "The employee community is ready to go, as 92% of employees say they want AI to help them with administrative tasks and to summarise information on a particular topic."1 Through this new integration, GenAI will help shorten and streamline that process. "CEOs are transitioning from AI fascination to AI-led business strategies, for exponential improvements in how their companies run," said Bill McDermott, chairman and CEO of ServiceNow. "ServiceNow and Zoom share a goal to supercharge teamwork. Our new integration goes from conversation to immediate action, saving time and freeing up resources so employees can focus on the work that matters most." "Through our enhanced collaboration with ServiceNow, we continue to deliver seamless interactions across both platforms with GenAI capabilities and embedded user interfaces," said Eric S. Yuan, founder and CEO of Zoom. "Integrating Zoom AI Companion with ServiceNow takes productivity to the next level, empowering customers to move seamlessly from meetings to productivity, reducing admin time and streamlining workflows." Two generative AI tools, one intuitive experience to supercharge efficiency GenAI creates seamless information flow between the places where teams collaborate. For example, a team starts a virtual meeting where they discuss and collaborate on multiple aspects of a project. Through this new integration, the Zoom AI Companion will summarize and transcribe the team's discussion, with permission, and turn action items into tasks connected to ServiceNow workflows. After the meeting, AI Companion can work with Now Assist for Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), ServiceNow's GenAI enabled solution, to trigger the proper workflows, helping teams with next steps like automatically creating tickets, and assigning them to team members. Email notifications will then be sent to attendees with insights from the meeting, along with an auto-generated summary of post-meeting deliverables. This new announcement expands upon the ServiceNow-Zoom partnership and integrations. With this integration, ServiceNow and Zoom will take unstructured conversations and transform them into structured data connected to intelligent workflows. Availability The integration requires the purchase of both Zoom's custom AI Companion add-on and ServiceNow Now Assist. The custom Zoom AI Companion add-on announced today will be generally available in the first half of 2025. See more stories here.

Build Better Tech: How the nation’s leading companies use tech as business strategy to win.
Brendan Ittelson loves solving problems for people and enabling them to accomplish their goals. He loved it even as a kid when he was tapped to troubleshoot tech issues around his school so often that he started a “Tech Squad”, and it seems to me that he loves it more than ever now, as he serves as the CTO of Zoom. He took the helm in the early days of the pandemic, thereby stepping into a role important to all of us who have relied on Zoom to stay connected in trying times. It was a great pleasure to speak -- how else -- over Zoom.Brendan's Developer Keynote from Zoomtopia 2021: Innovate with the Performance, Scale, and Reliability of Zoom https://zoomtopia.com/ondemand/?video-id=Su8cVCmzTopic Time Stamps 1:15 - What was it like to step into the CTO role at Zoom in April 2020? 3:00 - Were you aware of the weight of the role Zoom would play in the pandemic? 4:10 - As you were talking with your customers in those early days, what did they say that they needed? 5:18 - How important is the customer function within an organization, and what are some ways to be great at it? 7:25 - What have been some of your most meaningful experiences in working with your customers? 9:10 - With a much larger, much different user base now, how has the implementation or architecture of the product changed? 11:10 - What were some of the surprising use cases that you heard about for Zoom and what was it like to hear those? 12:40 - What questions or concerns that people building technology don't think about enough, or that people think about too much? 14:25 - How do you foster innovation while still prioritizing simplicity? 18:30 - Do you have a catchphrase or mantra that you're known for within the organization? 19:40 - What are some things about technology that you are watchful or concerned about? What are things you see that make you optimistic or excited about the future? 22:30 - What's the biggest challenge you're working on right now? 23:30 — The moonshot vision for what Zoom will be in 2050. Pull Quotes from Brendan: On the focus for Zoom as the pandemic set in: "We were looking at, How can we "deliver happiness" and connect the world in such a critical time? We were so humbled to have technology that could help people connect and collaborate.""Having the pulse on your customers and truly understanding them is key to sustainable business."On getting valuable feedback from customers: "A lot of it is meeting individuals where they are, not where you are. What channels are you providing for customers to reach out? How are they engaged? How simple is that process? it's really looking at how you can do that and make that a seamless experience for the end user and be able to scale and processing that information.""I fondly remember hearing about people getting married over Zoom, those personal experiences, and in most personal moments being able to connect and experience things at a different level even in this time when so many of us felt disconnected. It was just so empowering hearing that.""Technology is amazing. There is so much that you can do and there is a natural inclination to build these complex systems. But the most complex system is actually the simplest system because you've actually gone through all the use cases and whittled it down, and refined and perfected that so that it is extremely easy to use, understand, and scale.""The key thing for innovation is being able to step back, remove all the constraints, and have fun thinking about problems."

What if you could travel to a faraway place, populated by far-out people. What if this place had singing, stories, mischief and mystery? You can, and it's called “Zoomtopia” — a virtual performance by St. Paul's Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, a community of artists with disabilities. Interact, like most arts centers moved into the Zoom world, offered classes, meet-ups and other ways for its member artists to collaborate and create. “Zoomtopia” speaks to the pandemic life of artists with disabilities and to overcoming the isolation each of us felt in our own way. Beloved Minnesota playwright and storyteller Kevin Kling is the guide through Zoomtopia, and he joins Host Angela Davis to discuss the effects of quarantine on artists with disabilities. And we want to hear from you, too. Are you an artist who has been in isolation during the pandemic? How have you stayed connected with other artists? Have you been making it work? Tell us about it. And if you're an Interact artist — or live or work with an Interact artist — we want to hear about your current work. Call us at 651-227-6000 or tweet @AngelaDavisMPR. Guest: Kevin Kling, a Minneapolis-based playwright, storyteller and beloved commentator for MPR News and NPR.
Evan and Dave chat with OJ Winge and Simen Teigre, the founders of Neat. Neat came out of stealth at Zoomtopia 2019. The company is new, but on day one had extensive expertise in both video and video hardware. OJ and Simen were part of Tandberg which is arguably the most innovative source of video technologies (both before and after its 2010 acquisition by Cisco). Both OJ and Simen went to Cisco, both left and became involved in two separate video startups: OJ with Acano and Simen with Pexip. These companies were direct competitors. Acano was acquired by Cisco in 2015.Fast forward to 2019, the two reunited and founded Neat. A new company focused on exclusively producing hardware for the rapidly growing Zoom ecosystem. Neat is the first video hardware company dedicated to Zoom, and what incredible timing. The video sector (especially Zoom) had explosive growth in 2020. An amazing year for most video-related businesses, but an incredible first year for Neat.
In this episode, we talk about highlights from three major events from last month – Zoom, Slack and Twilio – with Zoomtopia commanding most of our time. There's just SO much innovation happening with cloud, AI, and collaboration technologies, but we also added a new segment to the podcast that's all about music, touching on Keith Jarrett and Alicia Keys. Check it out to see how we tie all this together.

The Sales Evangelist podcast features experts from all over the world, and Zoom helps us bridge the distance for video conference calls without added expense or travel. We use Zoom to power The Sales Evangelist Certified Sales Training, and it enables us to help sales reps and sales teams improve their skills, find the right customers, generate effective activities, establish successful strategies, build strong value, and close more deals. World travel Zoom is a powerful video platform that makes it easy to communicate with people all over the world in a matter of minutes. It powers webinars, video conferencing, and video phone calls. In the early days of The Sales Evangelist, we used Go To Meeting for our conferencing and demonstration needs. It was the Kleenex of the industry. Skype was available but it was mostly used for personal needs, like friends and family members looking to stay connected. Eventually it was bought by Microsoft, and we tried using Skype Business for our podcast interviews. Though the audio quality was ok, the service frequently dropped calls. Additionally, because there was no way to record, I had to incorporate a third-party app to save our interviews. User-friendly Around this time, a guest came on the show and shared his experience using Zoom. His company did all of its recording with Zoom and they liked that it integrated with a lot of other tools the company was already using. I was skeptical, but when I started my research, I discovered that a lot of other industry folks were using it as well. The audio quality was great and it didn't generate a lot of background transformer-type noise. Other tools like Google Hangouts and join.me emerged, but they were clunky and complicated for the customer who was logging in. Selling points Perhaps most importantly, Zoom was free to use. It didn't have the same capabilities as the robust premium account, but I could log in and talk to someone for 45 minutes, or invite up to 100 different people to join me on a call. Eventually I discovered I wanted access to the premium tools, and it was easy for me to transition to a paid account, as well as being cost effective for a small business. Zoom offered high-quality HD video recording that I could record to my cloud account or use on my YouTube or social media channels. I could also connect it to Dropbox. It integrated easily with Slack, which made it easy for me to communicate internally with my team. Zoom also integrated seamlessly with Salesforce, Google Drive, Gmail, and Blackboard. In some cases, the connection requires Zapier, and in others the tools connect directly. Sharing information Zoom offers powerful educational capabilities as well. If I'm giving a demonstration to a buyer I can use the tools to underline or highlight important things and give the buyer complete interaction on the proposal. Screenshare is an option, of course, and you can even use your cell phone, either plugged in or via wifi and Bluetooth, for screen shares. People buy after they recognize value. If you teach them something they didn't know before, you'll engage your prospects, despite the fact that they are sitting in China and you're in Milwaukee. Powerhouse Zoom is a powerhouse that beats the pants off the big name providers in the industry. If you're planning to renew your GoToMeeting account, check out Zoom first. I'm not getting any money from them for doing this, but I use Zoom daily and it's perfect for the work that I do. Zoom Rooms allow you to gather multiple people on a screen, and the company is hosting a conference called Zoomtopia this October. Zoom is pushing the boundaries of connecting people, and the company continues growing. Even for the technologically-challenged people in our lives, Zoom works well because it's user-friendly. “Video Conference Calls” episode resources Check out Zoom.us for more information about video conferencing for your organization. Logitech's Eric Spadafora, head of B2B business sales, North America, joined me for a pre-Zoomtopia videocast today. In addition to explaining how Logitech's 315-degree Sight plays a central part in meeting equity, Zoom's Intelligent Director will take center stage at the annual Zoom conference — as AI is going to be a central focus in the future of hybrid meetings. Watch this as Eric also hints at future Logitech product offerings and a way to help integrate the Rally Bar even more seamlessly into an environment.
My latest pre-Zoomtopia videocast features Yealink's senior sales engineer, Regend Soh, and Zoom's Lance Ford, Zoom Room educator. This videocast is interesting — both gentlemen hint at some big moves from Zoom at the annual conference, including a renewed focus on both the K-12 and higher-ed markets. The heart of it will be inside Yealink's booth (12A), which will feature AI-powered hardware and software solutions with a high level of integration with Zoom. Watch this!
