Guiding Question: What kind of spirituality actually works in real life—and how do the cross and the Holy Spirit make it possible? Summary: Robert Lewis dives into the heart of “real-world spirituality” through Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 2. Speaking to the sophisticated, style-obsessed Corinthians, Paul came not with flair or polished rhetoric but with a plain and simple message centered on Christ crucified. His lack of impressive speech was deliberate—it was the cross, not charisma, that carried power. Robert unpacks two essential pillars of life-transforming faith: Deeply Embrace the Cross – Real spirituality starts with dying to self. Without the cross, compromise creeps in, and spiritual growth stalls. Like the Corinthians, many believers today live forgiven but powerless lives because they resist the daily dying that unleashes resurrection power. Robert illustrates this with compelling stories—from a man who found freedom and generosity after surrendering financial control, to a broken father-son relationship healed by humility and repentance. The point: no death, no power. But on the other side of the cross is life, healing, and glory. Deeply Engage the Holy Spirit – Beyond self-denial, real spirituality includes a dynamic, intimate partnership with the Holy Spirit. He reveals God's thoughts to us, offers conviction, direction, and encouragement, and empowers discernment. Without the Spirit, believers grow spiritually dull, operating like a spiritual rover on Mars—barely receiving God's signal. But with the Spirit, believers gain wisdom, spiritual insight, and intimacy with God. Robert closes with two reflective questions for listeners: Where do you need to die to yourself? Do you want to be closer to God? He urges listeners to begin each day by surrendering to the cross and inviting the Holy Spirit in—plain and simple. Key Takeaways: Real spirituality isn't flashy—it's crucified and Spirit-filled. Without dying to self, we will always compromise God's best. The cross leads to spiritual power, freedom, and relational healing. The Holy Spirit enables daily intimacy with God and insight for living. Mature believers experience both the cost and the glory of following Christ. Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 2:1–16 (Paul's plain message and reliance on the Spirit) 2 Corinthians 10:10 (criticism of Paul's unimpressive presence) Mark 8:34 (Jesus on taking up your cross) Galatians 2:20 (being crucified with Christ) Malachi 3:10 (tithing and God's promise) 1 Corinthians 3:1–2 (immature believers) Philippians 4:13; 2 Corinthians 2:14 (power in Christ) Sermon 1/25/2004

What if the very success you're chasing is costing you what matters most? In today's powerful episode, Mark Casto delivers a prophetic wake-up call for every entrepreneur, builder, and dreamer. It's not enough to build wealth—you must build legacy. Drawing from insights in Dan Martell's Buy Back Your Time and Jefferson Bethke's Take Back Your Family, Mark challenges the hustle culture mindset that glorifies busyness and burns out families. He reveals why true wealth isn't measured by followers, fame, or fortune—but by presence, margin, and multi-generational blessing. In this episode, you'll learn: Why success at the cost of your family is not success—it's sabotage. How digital products can help you create wealth without trading time for dollars. The real meaning of wealth in the Kingdom: time, presence, peace, and legacy. Practical strategies to start buying back your time right now. How to shift your focus from personal destiny to generational legacy. A prophetic invitation to build businesses that serve your family, not steal from them. This isn't just business advice—it's a blueprint for building a life you'll never have to apologize for. If you're tired of the grind, desperate for margin, and longing to show up fully for your family, this episode will ignite your heart and give you a clear path forward. You were born to build. But you were born to build the right things. Key Takeaways: ✅ Real wealth is not more money—it's more margin. ✅ Digital products are tools for time redemption, not just cash flow. ✅ Your greatest legacy won't be your platform—it'll be your presence. ✅ You don't have to choose between building income and building family—you can do both through Kingdom wisdom. ✅ You are called to raise multi-generational blessing, not just personal success. You've heard the saying "multiple streams of income," but what about multiple streams of passive income?  Real estate offers a variety of options, from single-family homes to apartment buildings, and today we're joined by two experts to break it all down. Dirk Zeller, CEO of Real Estate Champions, has experience with all types of real estate investments, from single-family homes to small plexes, apartments, and commercial properties. Rob Levy, who has been in the real estate business since 1988, is brilliant with his investing strategy and knowledge. Some of the earliest advice he received was that you can make a lot of money selling real estate, but you can make more investing in real estate. We dive into real estate investment strategies from every angle, including single-family homes, multi-family homes, and commercial investments. While cash flow is crucial, we also explore the significant tax savings and depreciation benefits that come with strategically structured investments. Our experts break down concepts like cost segregation, explaining how it allows for a large one-time depreciation deduction that can substantially reduce taxable income for real estate professionals. We compare the pros and cons of investing in certain properties. Single-family homes may offer better appreciation, while multifamily properties can provide more consistent cash flow and lower acquisition costs per unit. No discussion would be complete without tackling tenant and property management along with location strategies. We explore the benefits of using self-directed retirement accounts (SDRAs) for real estate investments, showing how investors can defer taxes and potentially grow wealth tax-free. Our experts also shed light on partnering strategies, obtaining non-recourse loans, and navigating IRS regulations to ensure compliance. We discuss market insights, from tax laws to managing investments, including practical advice for new and seasoned investors. This podcast provides a comprehensive overview of real estate investment strategies, emphasizing the importance of education, strategic planning, and leveraging tax benefits. Join us as we unpack these critical topics and more with Dirk Zeller and Rob Levy. This is an episode you won't want to miss!   Key Takeaways Real estate investment strategies vary, with both single family and multifamily properties offering unique advantages. Understanding local market laws and having a solid investment strategy is crucial for success. Significant tax benefits, including mortgage interest deductions and cost segregation, can reduce taxable income. Single Family homes often appreciate more, while multifamily properties provide consistent cash flow. Selfdirected retirement accounts (SDRAs) offer tax deferred or tax free growth for real estate investments. Having local market knowledge and a proactive approach helps in finding and managing profitable investments. Diversification in investment properties can provide stability and enhance long term returns. Leveraging properties and scaling investments are essential strategies for building wealth. Challenges in real estate investment include tenant management, property maintenance, and market fluctuations. Understanding Section 8 housing benefits and drawbacks can impact investment decisions. Building a real estate business, living below your means, and having access to financing are key to successful investment. Investing in properties outside your local area requires reliable property management and local expertise. Finding the right deal and being willing to invest despite minor cost differences can lead to long term success. House hacking and partnering with others can be effective entry strategies for new investors. Utilizing property management teams and continuously educating oneself on real estate strategies are vital. Buying properties with the potential for appreciation and maintaining flexibility in investment approaches are recommended. The importance of scaling investments to achieve financial independence is emphasized. Courses and books on real estate investment can provide valuable knowledge and skills. Self-Directed IRA accounts and understanding their regulations can significantly enhance investment opportunities.   Connect with Joe Soldera Properties Joe on LinkedIn   Connect with Steve Steve's Team at Premiere Property Group Steve on LinkedIn   Connect with Rob The Rob Levy Team Rob Levy LinkedIn   Connect with Dirk Real Estate Champions Dirk Zeller LinkedIn   Resources PDX Real Estate Ep155: Unpacking Nar Developments—With Rob Levy

Operating virtually in real estate is not only feasible but can be advantageous, leveraging technology and avoiding physical constraints. Mezzanine debt provides equity-like returns with a safer position, offering a bridge for deals facing challenges like rising interest rates. Prudent preparation involves considering multiple scenarios, both optimistic and pessimistic, to navigate uncertainties in the market. Lesson number one, diversify. There are no scores today, but the correct answers to these questions determine your prowess to do Profit First right to make your business permanently profitable. Don't miss it!   IN THIS EPISODE: [00:57] Danielle has ten quiz questions today. Question one is: What is real revenue [3:07] Do owners who take a salary need a business compensation account [4:25] How do you pay as little as possible in taxes [7:57] Which account should you pay your taxes from [10:45] What do you do with money in your existing bank account when you open a business [12:15] Do we address debt by paying off the loans with the highest interest rate or use the snowball effect [14:31] Can the owner's compensation and tax account be combined into one account  [16:53] How do you calculate target allocation percentages [21:45] Do business owners need separate profit and owner's compensation accounts [23:29] At what point in time should I start Profit First for my business  KEY TAKEAWAYS:  Real revenue in Profit First is determined by subtracting materials and subcontractor costs from total revenue. Allocations and financial decisions are based on this real revenue number. Even if business owners take compensation as draws or distributions, Profit First recommends maintaining separate accounts for owner's compensation (acts like regular payroll) and profit (acts like a bonus). This separation ensures clarity and prevents the business from becoming a personal piggy bank.  Profit First can be implemented in businesses at any stage, even if they are not yet profitable. Starting early helps establish good financial habits, and the system can be adjusted as the business grows and becomes more profitable over time.   Pre-Order ALL IN: How Great Leaders Build Unstoppable Teams https://www.amazon.com/All-Great-Leaders-Build-Unstoppable/dp/0593544501/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=all+in+mike+michalowicz&qid=1700164489&sr=8-1   ABOUT THE HOSTS:   Danielle Mulvey is a former flight attendant-turned-entrepreneur and owns multiple businesses doing $50 million in annual revenue. Josh Schlanger, the Head of DevOps and Product Support at The RealReal, joined IT Visionaries to discuss how eCommerce sites operate, how The RealReal is working to sift out fake products, and why he thinks jobs will make a more permanent shift toward remote work moving forward. Key Takeaways Real or fake? Historically, the authentication of consigned products has mostly been done by humans. That’s changing, and Josh explains exactly how. To go remote, or not to go remote. Until COVID-19 hit, The RealReal managed a hybrid model of part-remote, part-in-office. Josh shares the pros and cons of that model, and his recommendations to managers. (Pro tip: Don’t forget to set personal and professional boundaries.) Is your infrastructure ready to weather the storm? The RealReal operates exclusively on the cloud, infrastructure that Josh and his engineering team are constantly improving. *This episode of the Industrial IoT Spotlight podcast is sponsored by PTC In this episode, we define what “real-time” means for software solutions, and the 3 key factors for digital success. What does “real-time” mean for customers? What are the key challenges of the digital transformation? How can software providers and system integrators help customers in their digital transformation journey?   Key Takeaways: Real-time solutions are mission critical regardless of whichever layer it is in. The solutions have to work; they are in the operations and control levels and they are controlling the operations. Real-time solutions bring together the product lifecycle, automation, and software realms. The major problem most clients are facing is the inability to define and support digital transformation. “Digital” is commonly used as a catch-all term to describe all the integration needed to address typical challenges such as efficiency and supply chain coordination. For each individual problem, different technologies could be considered and implemented. However, it is difficult to select which technology to use based on technical specifications only. In reality, the existing infrastructure is not adequate. For example, there may be a mismatch of technology between the various acquisitions, businesses, and divisions that a company has. Solution providers can take a multi-disciplinary approach combining consulting and workflow processes to help the client define and understand the scope of work. It is not easy to understand and translate business requirements into technical software requirements. Demonstrating software or business processes using a “day in the life of” approach, so that each party can understand the requirements in their own vocabulary, facilitates the alignment of business and technical requirements. It is crucial to marry the business and the technology for successful digital transformation. Three factors are key: The benefits of the initiative should be clearly defined, and used to create the scope of work. Executive buy-in is crucial to motivate people to use digital technologies. The use of digital technologies creates a channel for people to see the value created by themselves. Value must be created quickly and tracking must be consistent, so that customers do not need to wait to see value and the possibly of project abandonment is reduced.
