Pre-pod Patreon-only: Devon remembers meeting Ben's cat. He still has the scar. This episode contains: Ben leads the show, Steven phones it in, and Devon holds on for dear life. Devon has to go to "mandatory" parties for work. Steven's internet is unreachable, so he phones it in this episode. Ben was on the edge of the power outage that hit 5000 people. Ben describes the indescribable fun of the card game No Thanks. Ben's kid won 9 straight games of X-Men vs Street Fighter against Steven and Ben. Jurassic Boom: No supersonic boom for dinosaur tails. The Diplodocid tail did not break supersonic speeds, despite earlier claims. Diplodocis tails were 12 m long, weighed 1.5 tons, and moved up to 33 m/s! A sonic boom occurs at 340 meters per second. Did Diplodocis have a huge-ass neck, or huge ass-neck? Devon's kids are gonna know what a sonic boom is, by golly! Devon's son wants to be a treehouse architect. Steven knows one who does that. Steven workshopped some other titles for Devon's article: "Must Go Faster Must Go Faster" and "Dun-dun-dun-duuuun dun-dun-dinosaurs (sung to the Indiana Jones' theme)". https://phys.org/news/2022-12-paleontology-supersonic-boom-dinosaur-tails.html We've got to go back, Kate: Fifty years later, remastered images reveal Apollo 17 in stunning clarity. 50 years ago, on Apollo 17 the last astronauts went to the moon (for now). Nobody's heard of hasselblad cameras. Why aren't they hasselgood? Remastered photos of Apollo 17 look incredible, but the captions are fire. In case anybody is curious, the crew of Artemis III is diverse. https://www.nasa.gov/specials/artemis-team/ The moon has an incredible amount of dust and dirt. Astronauts get grimy. Apollo 17 was the 1st mission with a scientist on the moon: Harrison H. Schmitt. https://arstechnica.com/science/2022/12/fifty-years-later-remastered-images-reveal-apollo-17-in-stunning-clarity/ https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/missions/apollo-17/in-depth/ Science Fiction: Big thanks to Joe Kohr for Steven's birthday gift of Steam cash! Hide and Seek in Among Us is super fun, and different enough from the game. Ben didn't finish the Star Trek: Prodigy episode before recording this week. R.I.P. Kirstie Alley at 71: Saavik from Wrath of Khan. Devon used to watch every sitcom that existed in the mid- to late-90s. Remember Herman's Head? Pepperidge Farm does, and so does Devon. Devon has an encyclopedic knowledge of 90s sitcoms. Why did they recast Saavik between Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock? Money. Devon rewatched the 1st season of Enterprise, and let's just say he's whelmed. Enterprise lacks the high concept scifi that even season 1 of TNG had. Devon wonders if Herman's Head is streaming somewhere... Enterprise could use more space-borne aliens. The original idea for Enterprise was for s1 to be on Earth, building the ship. Ben remembers the show Roswell, and there was a crazy Enterprise tie-in. Steven wonders if Jonathan Frakes is a little nuts. No reason, just wonders. The film Clockstoppers is a little self-explanatory, don't you think?

Episode 209 - Clockstoppers (2002) A new month, a new series, so what better topic to cover than what we here at Cinemoddities do all the time: going through the turnstiles! We're covering movies about time travel in March, starting with Rob, Zack, and Ben scrutinizing a time-dilation movie from their childhood; it's "Clockstoppers"! But how much is wrong with the "science" in this movie? How many takes does Jonathan Frakes need? Where will the Cinemoddities gang take a vacation? Listen in to find out! STOP then Rewind! We're being kind and rewinding to take a closer look at Lorelai's VHS collection, which includes one of the longest-running prime time dramas in history (Knot's Landing), a family sitcom (Please Don't Eat the Daisies), an '80s show that was turned into a movie franchise (21 Jump Street), a Hallmark movie that would never be made today (Riding the Bus With My Sister), and some Super Bowl commercials. Who is Spuds Mackenzie? Why did Brooke Shields get flack for modeling jeans? How many DeLuises acted with Johnny Depp? And WHERE'S THE BEEF? Bottom line: Lorelai better hold on to those tapes or she may never get to watch these shows again! We Wholeheartedly Recommend: Marry Me, The Marvelous Mrs. MaiselOther pop culture we ref: Bewitched, The Lord of the Rings, Peyton Place, Marathon Man, Alec Baldwin, Brad Pitt, Dallas, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Clockstoppers, 24, "Baby Got Back"Check us out on Instagram!Subscribe to our new email list!So it's a show? Part one features a look into all of the bosses found in Shadowlands newest mega-dungeon and what we thought of them. Part two delves a bit into the Sanctum of Domination, what we blasted through and struggled with, and our thoughts about the reappearance of one of the Horde's favorite chrome-dome mass murderers. "STOP! In the name of clocks, before you break all time." We at Reminiscent find that Relient K is often overlooked when discussing greatest acts in the genre from the early 2000s, so we are here once again to give them the praise they deserve. Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been is an absolute banger of a song that is buried DEEP into Mmhmm at track 10 (or is it 11?), which hints at a level of confidence, as if Relient K knew that album was so good that folks would stick around to the end to hear the best track from the 2004 release. Not only is the song great, the music video is insanity, serving as a trailer to the greatest movie never made. We spent most of this episode trying to figure out the mechanics of the world we are presented with, as week as listing all the ways in which it is and is not like Nickelodeon’s “Clockstoppers”. Tyler Manzo literally just hypertimed into the studio to talk about a nickelodeon movie from 2002. That's right pod babies, grab your bikes and set your watches to "gotta go fast", because it's finally time for Clockstoppers. Is Clockstoppers secretly a Star Trek movie? Is this movie inconsistent as hell? Does anyone other than Sage care? Like, subscribe, and find out.
Welcome to the world of Nickelodeon original movies, a relic of the early 2000's—even if they still exist today—that feature wacky characters in surprising circumstances, and a lot of teenage sexual tension...and also bike tricks? Clockstoppers is one of those rare films that may ring familiar to a very specific sect of millennials while simultaneously leaving the rest of us head scratching. But fear not, it's on HBO Max. And now it's also reviewed at length on the bad movies podcast. Insta: Con_bru he's.a.conartist

We review the classic poem that you probably think is called "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" but is apparently actually called "A Visit from St. Nicholas"! Who knew?? Not us! We spend a LOT of time in the "Monster Mash" voice and somehow inexplicably start a Clockstoppers fancast in the middle of the show?? And Mike showcases his love for the Rudolph stop motion Christmas special in the game. It's a heartwarming holiday time y'all. Thee goddess Rachel Sennott dropped in from LA to talk to us about social media sleuthing, hot and cool guys, Clockstoppers, music, and all of her West Coast projects.
Tackling one of the more obscure and forgotten flicks from the early 2000's, Zach & Brandon revisit a sci-fi action comedy they each saw once and then never again... until this episode. Zak Gibbs is your typical 2002 high schooler- he likes to shred on his BMX bike, he loves wearing baggy cargo pants, and his wristwatch enables him to speed up his body so that other people seem to be standing still. Throw in French Stewart, some Matrix-inspired gimmick effects, and one helluva soundtrack and you get Clockstoppers. The boys discuss this Nickelodeon joint in great detail, including DJ battles, the least intimidating bullies imaginable, and its Star Trek director.
Go back in time with us and see the pure distillation of early 2000’s culture into a single movie. This one checks all the boxes of what a movie aimed […]
It's out of the restaurant and into the travel agency as we take a look at 2002's smash hit rom com, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, written by its star, Nia Vardalos - who adapted it from her autobiographical one-woman show.! Join in as we discuss educational computer games, the 2002 movie Clockstoppers, this movie's sitcom sequel, and BFG Wedding's incredible box office run. Plus: Is Marc a book model? Is the river Styx filled with Windex? Does Toula glue her headset to her skull? And is Toula much older than our guest, #FiFiFierce? Make sure to rate, review, and subscribe! This week the gang is joined by the oh-so talented Jacob Mundell to discuss the 2002 Nickelodeon Film, Clockstoppers. We get into what each of us would do with the ability to stop time, the insanity of a universe where the extent of our science fiction capabilities only goes as far as BMX biking and paintball, and pitch about 7 or 8 different movies in order to avoid talking about this one. This episode we review Clockstoppers. We discuss how the creators of this movie didn’t put any thought into scientific realism, how the watch breaks many laws of physics despite knowing this, and the in-your-face 2002 aspects. If you have any question you’d like us to answer during our intermissions, send them in to contact@downloadablezebras.com, or message us on Twitter or Facebook. One of the reasons we love Deep Space Nine is its consistent tendency to defy our expectations. This episode is no exception, as it brings Jonathan Frakes in for a guest starring role, but defiantly casts him as Tom Riker instead of Will Riker, and then defies your expectation yet again by making this Tom Riker-starring vehicle into a Sisko-Dukat caper. We are reaching Maquis levels of sadness yet again here, thanks to this episode where everything is complicated and nobody really wins. But apart from our sadness for the fate of ol’ Tommy Rikes, it wouldn’t be a Reopening the Wormhole discussion without brief forays into things like 90s handheld video game console Sega Game Gear, unnecessary Twilight Zone references, another discussion about nature vs. nurture vis a vis Tom Riker, and, of course, Jonathan Frakes’s undisputed masterpiece of filmmaking, Clockstoppers. Barm joins us for this depressing, exciting, and entrancing episode of Deep Space Nine.
Join Slidewhistle, Immunization, and Aaron as they re-affirm that this is a Clockstoppers 2 podcast. The DNR boys discuss their progress through the DAZZA raid, upcoming quest lines, allied race dance moves, and more! Also, for the first time, guests have stumbled their way into the Boralus studio! Appearances are made by field correspondent Growliina and Peddlefeet, the Love Is In The Air goblin cupid.
Join Slidewhistle, Aaron, and Immunization as they talk about the World of Warcraft! Hear about more DAZZA raid antics, how Ma'ra Grimfang got her groove back, the insanity of the hive mind quest, and the struggles of naming a Kul Tiran ship! You'll also get endless sidebars that take you into the terrifying world of the new Aladdin trailer, the crazy voice acting world of Hayao Miyazaki flicks, and the 2002 box office smash hit Clockstoppers! Get your WoW podcast fix and keep on not relenting!
We're back with another 2 bad 1 good. This go around we watched the 2008 live action Speed Racer, the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie starring Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson (and no one else) and the cult classic Clockstoppers. And yes, this was after Bring It On.
We close out the Christmas season with the some extremely creepy age play, unnecessary sunglasses, and, of course, SUPER HYPERTIME!
Seasons Greetings! This week to celebrate (?) Luke leads us in a discussion of the 2002 Jonathan Frakes “Classic”, Clockstoppers. How much do we hate this kid? You may be surprised!

Clockstoppers. After making a couple of successful Star Trek films for Paramount, Jonathan Frakes was given the chance to direct an original sci-fi movie, Clockstoppers. The film is a family-friendly action movie about a high school kid who uses the watch his dad invented to slow down time. In this episode of Stage Nine, Mike and John take a look at Frakes' first non-Trek movie. We discuss talented filmmakers directing kids movies, the trend of family-oriented action films, and what Frakes' style looks like outside of a pre-established franchise.
