Fixing our gaze on Christ stops us from returning to our former life.

Returning to college after serving in the Navy and working on ships, he was called the “blue collar poet” by his peers at the University of Central Florida. Life Insurance is a difficult industry. Statistics have shown that about five percent of life insurance agents survive just five years in this career. Why is that, especially since improving the lives of families can be so rewarding? This conversation might draw the curtain away from the industry, so the layperson can see what this profession actually entails. This is an opportunity for a life insurance agent to understand how to become more proficient at their calling. Janet Sims, the caregiver of the Prosperity Economics Movement shares her story of what this industry has meant to her, while providing insights on how to overcome the day-to-day hardships of becoming a better advocate for families which this profession provides in helping others. 00:00 – Introduction – Janet's Background 03:10 – Listening and Being Authentic 15:00 – Moral Responsibility of a Life Insurance Agent 20:10 – Importance of Community 27:30 – “Aha” Moments – Staying Engaged 36:20 – Being “Prospect” Focused vs Engaging People at All Times 40:50 – The effect of the Pandemic and Technology on Communication 44:00 – Develop a Passion and Urgency 46:00 – Leaving a Legacy 50:45 – Conclusion Other resources: prosperityeconomicsadvisors.com prosperityeconomics.org truthconcepts.com

Jim Gaines is an incredibly important individual in the world of journalism. He's the former managing editor of Time, Life, and People magazines. He's interviewed and written about presidents, celebrities, and notable historical events such as Watergate, and figures, including being the first to interview Mark Chapman, the person who murdered John Lennon. Gaines has written several best-selling historical books, including his recent, The Fifties: An Underground History, “a bold and original argument that upends the myth of the Fifties as a decade of conformity to celebrate the solitary, brave, and stubborn individuals who pioneered the radical gay rights, feminist, civil rights, and environmental movements.” He's one of the most reputable and notable journalists of our time. In this solo show, I explore what living the simple life on the Caribbean island of St. John taught me about health and fitness and how it laid the foundations for everything I believe in today. Back then, walking was my primary form of transportation, and my frugal diet was the result of a lack of funds rather than a desire to experiment with intermittent fasting. However, looking back, I realize just how much my diet, my outdoor lifestyle, and my disconnection from technology helped me to recover from the grim prognosis I'd been given about my neurological health. Not surprisingly, I'm now committed to incorporating the lessons I learned from my time on St. John into every aspect of my life. So, in today's show, I consider how living an embodied, purposeful Blue-Zone type lifestyle can contribute to your health and happiness.Support the show (https://www.coachjoedi.com/joe-recommends )
Marc Lewis, neuroscientist, former opiate addict and author of Memoirs of an Addicted Brain, believes that addiction rates increased recently because lockdowns deprived people of the physical proximity to loved ones that the brain finds so nourishing. Here, he explores his thesis with Medcan's clinical director of mental health, Dr. Jack Muskat, in a wide-ranging conversation about the nature of addiction, the neurological benefits of hugs and physical affection—and the unintended consequences of pandemic restrictions. Read this The Guardian article by David Shariatmadari to learn more about Marc Lewis' life and experiences with addiction, or this CNN article by Maggie Fox that explores how drug overdose deaths in 2020 hit the highest number ever recorded. More on the Internal Family systems therapeutic model. Check out some scientific research on addiction, such as a 2021 study published in Nature Medicine about the conceptualization of addiction as a brain disease and the criticism around it, or a 2020 study about COVID-19 and addiction, published in Diabetology & Metabolic Syndrome. INSIGHTS In the rush to institute COVID lockdowns, Marc Lewis says “the need for social connection was overlooked for an almost obsessive attunement to the disease.” We tried to replace physical proximity to loved ones with social media and Zoom, but it didn't work. “The actual presence of other people—proximal, real flesh and blood people that you can feel and touch and hug and smell— is really important,” says Lewis. [02:21] Lewis' research indicates that it's not who you are, but what happens to you that determines how likely you are to become addicted to something. “There is no addiction gene cluster. It's how well you fit with your surround,” says Lewis. In his experience as a psychotherapist, Lewis estimates that more than 90 per cent of his patients with addiction problems have histories of trauma. [14:53] Addiction wasn't considered a problem until the 20th century, when addicts were labeled as “sinners,” “weak” and “self-indulgent.” The 1980s and 90s introduced the disease model of addiction, which removed the blame from the addict but still connected them inherently to their “disease.” “It's a way of thinking that makes the problem intrinsic to the person,” says Lewis. [19:09] In contrast, Lewis uses the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy when he treats addiction patients. IFS identifies the part of the addict that wants to get high as one component of a greater whole. “There's a particular part of me that when I get upset enough, scared enough, depressed enough, this part knows how to fix that with drugs, booze, or whatever else,” says Lewis. [21:35] When people become addicted, it is often because they are trying to cope with problems or stress in their lives. According to Lewis, we have become too preoccupied with treating our issues as disorders or diseases. “We don't all need to be running to the drugstore to deal with things that humans have suffered with forever,” says Lewis. Treating, and warding off, addictive behaviours is complex, but one thing that helps is developing a network of loving friends and family, with which one maintains frequent, physical contact. [27:35]
When many people think of our Christian faith, they think of Jesus, and his teachings. God, however, also teaches us much about the meaning of Christ's birth, life, death, and resurrection through the writings of Jesus' earliest followers, the Apostles. One of these Apostles was Paul. This Sunday, I will preach the second sermon in a four-part series about St. Paul entitled, “Paul: ‘The' Apostle.” Exploring both his life and teachings reveals a great deal about what it means to follow Christ, today. “Paul: ‘The' Apostle” Sermon Series Sunday, October 17th: “A Mind, Opened: Paul's Conversion” (Acts 9:1-19)(Ephesians 2:1-10) Sunday, October 24th: “Taking Risks: Paul's Ministry” (Galatians 1:11-24; 2:1-2, 8-10)(2 Corinthians 11:24-29)

Life Esidimeni charged the department at least 250-million-rand per annum for just over 2-thousand patients. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter, Phumzile Mlangeni.

Something I've been seeing recently in Facebook groups and forums is people claiming they can't be great at audio because they don't have a degree or formal education in audio engineering. If that's you, let me offer some personal insight. I'm one of those chumps who spent 4 years and a TON of money on a degree in audio engineering, and I've lived to regret it. The REAL learning happened after college when I was working with some very experienced and prolific audio engineers who, guess what, never had ANY formal education in audio engineering. The thing that really took my production to the next level was watching professionals do what they do best. To this day, I still spends hours every week, sometimes every day on several different paid platforms where I can watch audio engineers work and talk about their processes. In this episode I offer suggestions on how you can learn how to be GREAT at audio and produce incredible podcasts without any type of formal education, including a new service I'll be offering called MixLab. Episode #36: What are The Akashic Records with Susan E. Rogers In this episode, I have a conversation with Susan E. Rogers about what are the Akashic Records. In short, the Akashic Records is all the information in the universe. Now, can the Akashic records be accessed by people, how do we use this information for our benefit, and where are they stored. These are some of the questions Susan, and I discuss. Susan E. Rogers Susan is a psychic medium and author who has joins me for the second time. Her first appearance, we talked about her book, Uncovering Norman. During that conversation, the topic of Akashic Records was brought up. After we finished, we talked about her coming back on and devoting an entire podcast episode to this topic. What are the Akashic Records The Akashic Records are all the information in the universe. Where are the records stored? This question is hard to understand and wrap your head around, or at least it is for me. The only thing I’m sure of, that there isn’t a big library in the sky housing this information. Basically, the records are in the etheric plane which means they are held within the energy that is all around, but it can only be accessed by a person that has been trained to put themselves in a meditative state. Susan does a much better job explaining what it takes to access the records. So, be sure to click on the above media player and listen to the podcast episode to get a much better explanation. My Thoughts on the Akashic Records Science hasn’t and probably never will prove the existence of this library of information. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist somewhere in the energy of the universe. I think it’s a fascinating concept and I like the whole idea of this topic. Throughout history, some of the greatest thinkers or inventors have stated that their knowledge or ideas were given to them somehow, and it didn’t come from their minds. Nikola Tesla is a prime example of this idea. Most people say or assuming he was referring to aliens when he spoke of how his ideas were given to him. However, what if he was able to tap into the Akashic Records somehow. There is no way to know for sure, but it’s an interesting concept none the less. Susan E. Rogers goes into detail about how reincarnation and how all of those live, past and future, are stored and can be accessed by a person with knowledge of how to use the Akashic records. Learn is the goal of reincarnation. So, each life lived is how we determine the needed lessons to move us on to the next plain of existence. Ghosts in The Night Episode #14 My Conversation with Susan E. Rogers This episode, I have a fascinating conversation with Author and psychic medium Susan E. Rogers. Susan's new book, Uncovering Norman: Proving the Former Life of a Ghost, dives into her spirit guide, Norman, and how he first made contact with her. However, unlike most, Susan Rogers takes it one step further and actually does extensive research and is able to find evidence of Norman life when he was alive. I really enjoy our conversation and hope to have her on again in the future. You will want to go get Susan Rogers' book and follow her and Norman's journey. Bill Cushing lived in various states, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico before moving to California. As an undergrad, he was called the “blue collar” poet by classmates at the University of Central Florida because of his years in the Navy and later as an electrician on oil tankers, fishing boats, and other naval vessels before returning to college at 37. Earning an MFA in writing from Goddard College in Vermont, he now teaches at East Los Angeles and Mt. San Antonio colleges. Bill has been published in various literary journals, magazines, and newspapers, including The San Juan Star and the Florida Times-Union. His short stories have appeared in Borfski Press, Newtown Literary Journal and Sediments. Bill’s poetry has been in numerous journals, both in print and online, including Avocet, Brownstone Review, Glomag, Mayo Review, Penumbra, Poetry Nook, Spectrum, The Song Is. . ., and West Trade Review. He had poems (one a Pushcart Prize nominee) in both volumes of the award-winning Stories of Music. In 2017, Bill was named as one of the Top Ten Poets of L.A., and this year Spectrum Publishing named him as one of the “ten poets to watch” in Los Angeles. When not teaching or writing, Bill facilitates a writing workshop in Eagle Rock, California (part of the 9 Bridges Writing Community). He also performs with a musician in a project called “Notes and Letters,” a project that is available online through both Facebook and youtube. He is now in the pre-publication stages for a full-length volume of poems with Finishing Line Press, scheduled for release in mid-2019. That book is tentatively titled A Former Life
Tim returns from his travels abroad and joins Sean and Fab in chatting nonsense about AFL, a little F1 and parenting. The boys dissect the AFL Finals ticketing fiasco, the priority pick debate and muse on some possible trades. Outside of that, Milli Vanilli, David Copperfield, Tales From The Punt and more headline an extraordinarily weird chat.
We’ve done 168 episodes. I’m pretty sure this is the one that caught me off guard the most. Everything seemed fine and dandy and then our guest dropped a bit of his past life that was… well… quite intense! Johnny (chatroom alias, “johnny5000”) proves to be a massive data point in regards to there being no excuses and that when you put your mind to something, it can be done. I don’t want to offer any spoilers, but there is no doubt in my mind that you will find Johnny’s past life a very intense experience and be motivated and inspired about how life has taken a 180. I could keep on blabbing on now about how motivating it was, but I won’t do that. Let’s get to it! Notes: Today we interview community member Johnny who goes by johnny5000 in the community. His introduction to the market was the game of Life. The way the stock market works in that game is that you put your money down and spin the wheel. This led Johnny to believe from very early on that the market was just for gambling. Johnny got caught up in some hard times which lasted many years but after a long road to recovery, he started a job and participated in an employee stock purchase plan. Once he realized that he would like to have more control over his investments (to generate a larger return) he decided to do some investigation into various trading education websites. After doing his research, Johnny ultimately joined Claytrader University and started working through the courses in his free time. As he continues working multiple jobs, he is taking his time going through the courses and has just begun paper trading. He also caught himself unrealistically paper trading and stopped that very early. We talk through various products that Johnny may be interested in trading based on his day job. Since he doesn’t want to have gap risk, he thinks he will focus on advanced options since he can set his stop loss in advance using various strategies taught. Quotes: I actually never had a real job for a company until I was nearly 40 years old. Every decision I make now is done with caution. I jumped in to CTU and didn’t realize you also get hours of webinars that are amazing. It’s worth a lot more than you’re charging. I have a lot more work to do. I’m not in a hurry. I’ve only been paper trading for a month. Day job, gym and then courses and webinars at night. Basically whenever I have time I just take in the material. Links: www.uptownaustincoverband.com
Paul Called by God 11 For uI would have you know, brothers, that vthe gospel that was preached by me isnot man's gospel.3 12 wFor I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but Ireceived it xthrough a revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of ymy former lifein Judaism, how zI persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. 14 And Iwas advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremelyazealous was I for bthe traditions of my fathers. 15 But when he cwho had set me apartdbefore I was born,4 and who ecalled me by his grace, 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to5me, in order fthat I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consultwith anyone;6 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but Iwent away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. 18 Then gafter three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained withhim fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James hthe Lord's brother.20 (In what I am writing to you, ibefore God, I do not lie!) 21 jThen I went into the regionsof Syria and Cilicia. 22 And I was still unknown in person to kthe churches of Judea thatare in Christ. 23 They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is nowpreaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they glorified God because of me.
Former Managing Director at Life Esidimeni says they did warn the Gauteng Health Department against the speedy transfers of mentally-ill patients to unidentified NGOs. About a hundred and forty-one patients died as a result. Dr Morgan Mkhatswa says several children died in 2007, when more than 20 mentally ill children were moved to NGOs, and he did not want a repeat of that experience. Mkhatswa has been testifying at the Life Esidimeni Arbitration underway in Parktown, Johannesburg. Wisani Makhubele reports...
Galatians 1:11-13 // Saul uses, as proof that he was not taught the gospel by man, his former manner of life inside of Judaism. Paul hated and hunted the ministers of the gospel prior to his Damascus road experience.

Dr. Kuykendall teaches this week from Galatians 1:11-24. We see that Paul's former life was on a downward spiral...but through the transforming grace of Jesus Christ, how Paul, and we too, can put the past in the past and live a blameless life.

Chris Stewart is best known for his hugely successful book, Driving Over Lemons, in which he explains how he and wife Ana came to be owners of a small farm in southern Spain, on the wrong side of the river, without electricity and with the former owner still in residence. The former Genesis drummer has since written four other best-sellers, one of which - Three Ways To Capsize a Boat - tells the story of how he came to be skipper of a Cornish crabber in the Aegean Sea. In this edition of The Wheelhouse, Chris explains how the crabber caught fire and how he ran it into a jetty on the isle of Spetses. He also chats about his crossing of the North Atlantic, in the footsteps, or wake, of Leif Eriksson, and in the company of no less than Tom Cunliffe.
Have You Ever Had A Past Life Experience? Do You Believe In Reincarnation? How Much Karma Do You Spread On Your Mummified Animal Crackers? If so, it's time we had a little chat. And in this one-to-one between just you and me (sorry, no apparitions from times yore allowed), we're going to talk about past life memories, past life regression and how regression is performed in a clinical setting. The emphasis being on how regression is performed to give people the feeling that they're remembering past lives. And to accomplish all this, we're going to see how the entire notion and the culture surrounding past lives fits into the larger context of our shared psychological needs around the globe. Oh ... and I'll even tell you about my past life experience too. Warning: Reincarnation Can Make You Fat A few weeks ago, we talked about The Surprising Truth About Hypnosis And Memory Improvement and some of the controversial issues surrounding the topic. For example, hypnosis can produce all kinds of memories, the quality and integrity of which vary. We looked at one of the most consequential ways that hypnotically induced memories play out: in courtroom testimony. Like memories produced by hypnosis, past life memory is a controversial and highly unlikely topic. At its worst, the ability to recall past lives is a sham sold in books, live or online courses and supposedly therapeutic past life regression hypnotherapy. Content creators direct these at the gullible. For example, in Many Lives, Many Masters, Brian Weiss makes the claim that exploring past lives can cure all kinds of ailments, phobias and anxieties. He suggests focusing on clinical results and forgetting about whether past lives are real or not. Easy to say when your wallet is bursting with fees from patients seeking relief and willing to try anything. Then There's The Dark Side On the opposite end of the scale, people have reported bringing back ugly scars from their regressions, or later becoming obese thanks to things seen in visions of the past. But we certainly must admit that that past life regression and the memories it seems to produce may have some legitimate therapeutic value that goes beyond placebo and hypnosis. I'll talk about my experience with descending into a previous life a little further on. Helpful or fraught with danger, to be ethical, the hypnotherapist or "regressionist" must make it clear that the techniques induce dreamlike fantasies, not realities. Past life memories, no matter how clear or intense, are mirages produced by the mind, not HDTV memories based on anything that ever actually happened. How To Win A Million Dollars With Just One Of Your Past Lives! And if you feel that I stand to be corrected, please let me direct me to the James Randi Foundation and the Million Dollar Challenge. They'll be pleased to receive your evidence and reward you with a handsome sum upon reasonable validation of your material. In any case, I see no reason to believe that past lives exist. And any value past life regression can probably acquired by other means without questionable sessions with a hypnotist. All the same, let's look at the issue in detail and try to figure out why some people do believe in it. The reasons are fascinating, and we all stand to learn something from them. The first thing we need to realize is that ... Past Lives Are Not About The Past! No, no and a million times no. Past life regression is all about the future. It's about life after death and the fantasy that we never really die. As I'm sure you know, your mind has a hard time conceiving of the planet without you. So at its core, past life fantasies drive forward as much as they dive backward to ease the anxiety that when we're gone ... We're Really, Really Gone! In case I haven't convinced you that past lives are really about the future, consider Karma.

Former Life Report co-host Carrie Guy was beloved by many fans. She brought something different to the show, as a youth pastor and a post-abortive pastors kid. She had to leave the show last year when she had baby, but she's come back for a special episode to share her story that includes having an abortion as a teen, her recovery process later, and ultimately helping other post-abortive women. Carrie also talks about how the modern church is doing responding to the abortion issue as well as tips for talking to pregnant women who are considering abortion.
