"My friends and I are all single and looking for boyfriends. We had a Girls Night Out on Saturday that ended with some of us arguing. I told my friends I am looking to date down meaning I'm looking for a less than average looking guy. I'm doing this because I know if I date down my guy will treat me like a queen and never dream of cheating on me like my last boyfriend. My friends all laughed and made fun of my dating strategy. I think dating good looking guys only causes problems. They're cocky and arrogant and, from my experience, will always cheat on you because they know they're good looking and can always get an attractive woman. When you date down, that guy knows what he has and will always treat you like gold. Am I right or wrong? Is it smart to date down if you're an attractive woman like myself?"See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
IT`S OFFICAL: es wird ein SHE´S TALKING LIVE EVENT geben!!
It's season finale time! And my guest today is the whirlwind also known as Kathy Lette.Australian Kathy smashed her way into the global bestseller lists at the age of 17 with the novel Puberty Blues. Since then she has turned her irreverent, en pointe pen on the peaks and troughs, triumphs and total BS of female existence.I first read her with Girls Night Out and The Llama Parlour in my twenties and met Kathy when I was features editor of New Woman (yet another resident of the magazine graveyard). Foetal Attraction and Mad Cow followed, which was made into a film starring Anna Friel and Joanna Lumley. 20 books later, her latest, The Revenge Club, takes hilarious aim at the way women are scrap-heaped (sometimes professionally and personally) in their 50s.Kathy joined me to play pun bingo and talk about why life is in two acts and the key is surviving the perimenopausal interval, reaping the benefits of the invisibility cloak and chipping away at ageing double standards. She also told me about being told off by her teenage daughter, the power of complaining, why divorce isn't to be feared and why her midlife mantra is, if it doesn't spark joy, it's time to toss it away.* You can buy all the books mentioned in this podcast at The Shift bookshop on Bookshop.org, including The Revenge Club by Kathy Lette and the book that inspired this podcast, The Shift: how I lost and found myself after 40 - and you can too, by me.* If you enjoyed this episode and you fancy buying me a coffee, pop over to my page on buymeacoffee.com• And if you'd like to support the work that goes into making this podcast and get a weekly newsletter plus loads more content including exclusive transcripts of the podcast, why not join The Shift community, come and have a look around at www.theshiftwithsambaker.substack.com• The Shift (on life after 40) with Sam Baker is created and hosted by Sam Baker and edited by Juliette Nicholls @ Pineapple Audio Production. I began with Executive Chef Kyle Timpson, who started out with aspirations to be a pastry chef. Sometime after graduating Atlantic Cape Community College, he found that challenging himself within a larger spectrum was appealing, and cultivated a space where he could continue to grow in the industry. Today, Executive Chef Timpson joined us to talk about the delicious steakhouse and beverage menus at SIN in Philadelphia, and what to look forward to in the coming weeks. (https://www.sinphiladelphia.com)I next spoke with Army Veteran, Cookbook Author, three-time Food Network winner and Executive Chef Kevin Cooper aka "Chef Steek." Chef Steek sat down with me to discuss how he began in the culinary world, what influenced his progression within the industry, and what it was like to not only appear on the Food Network, but also win and be able to open the Chicken Guy in King of Prussia. Chef Steek and I also dug into the menu items available at the Chicken Guy, along with some of the milkshakes too--have I mentioned how much of a sweet tooth I have? Well, you'll hear from both of us on what to bite (and sip) at his spot in the KOP Mall. (https://chickenguy.com)My final guest, Executive Chef Alex Tellez, joined Food Farms and Chefs to discuss Sor Ynes and all the delicious offerings on their menu; from scratch made tortillas to mezcal flights--Sor Ynes focuses on traditional Mexican ingredients and techniques to prepare their fresh and piquant menu. I know that I have my eye out on their "Shrimp Al Ajillo" with a mezcal tasting flight, and I'll save some room for dessert! Just keep your eyes peeled on their socials, as they're getting ready to change up the menu soon! Now that's a tasty treat to look forward to! (https://sorynez.com)

#146// 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."How are you doing with the will of God in Christ Jesus for you when it comes to rejoicing and giving thanks? Isn't it crazy how we can clearly know what the will of God is for our life -- it's right there in the scripture! -- and still struggle with choosing to do it? Even Paul grieved over this in Romans 6 and 7, right? So why is it that we can know what we need to do, but have such a hard time choosing it? Do you struggle to choose joy and gratitude in the midst of your own hard circumstances? On this episode of The Positioned to Prosper Podcast, I'm sharing the message I preached at our last REVIVE Woman Girls Night Out event. During my share I unpacked Biblical guidance for how to choose joy and gratitude right in the midst of the hardest things life can throw at us. Are you ready to choose joy and gratitude right where you are? Grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!JOIN THE JESUS GIRL GANG! Tread Perilously's eighth semiannual Patreon subscriber request month comes to a close with the Riptide episode called "Girls Night Out." When two housewives start knocking over expensive homes in the southland while using one of Murray's computer manuals, he, Cody, and Nick are immediately blamed for the crimes. Taking the investigation into their own hands, they soon discover the women owe local fence -- and seeming sex trafficker -- Joey Dietz $20,000. And although the situation has delayed their annual fishing trip to Cabo San Lucas, Murray thinks the Riptide team should help the ladies with their predicament. Also: Cody tries to break up with Francine. Erik finds Riptide lacking while Justin stumps for the star power of Gerald McRainey. Murray actor Thom Bray ends up the show's MVP. Erik introduces the notion of "jobber television" as an important part of the landscape. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds talk occurs. The two actual leads of Riptide are dubbed "Mustache Hunks" despite one of them emphatically lacking facial hair. Tweaks, including the addition of E.G. Daily, are suggested to make Riptide a better show. Dr. Huxtable gets called out for his treatment of Theo. Geography Corner leads to very local spots for Erik and Justin and a noted author makes a surprise appearance.

What is the TRUE definition of a "Girls Night Out"?
#137// But seriously . . . why are we always those people who think we need to figure it out, clean it up, get it done all on our own? When I was little, I marveled at how my mom could do a full grocery shop for a family of five and then come home and grab every single bag out of the car, at once, and carry it into the house . . . in one trip! I aspired to be like her.It wasn't until I was in my twenties and did her little "grocery grab" trick in front of her that I found out the real reason for her "do it all on my own" approach -- her requests for help were minimized or ignored for so long that she finally stopped asking for it. She learned to carry heavy things all by herself in one trip because she knew she was going to have to do it alone anyway, so she might as well make it quick. Are you crying right now, too?On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast we're getting into the reasons for why we insist on doing hard and heavy things alone, even though we're not designed for it. There are some lies and fears we need to exchange for truth today, my friend! If you're ready to make the exchange and get back to the kind of "let's go together" lifestyle He created us for, go grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!JOIN US FOR GIRLS NIGHT OUT AND LET'S GO TOGETHER! Have you been insistent on doing it alone? We were made to journey together, Sis! Join us for GNO and let's connect on Monday, August 14th at 7pm ET. Just hop over to revivewomen.org/GNOInfo for all the details and to RSVP . . . and invite your girlfriends, sisters, and neighbors, too. Let's GO Together!

SUMMER SLASH 5 OFFICIAL HORROR MOVIE TEE + BINGE-WATCHERS PODCAST T-Shirt https://bit.ly/SUMMERSLASH5TEE Watch the Podcast: https://bit.ly/BWVideoSub Listen To All Episodes: https://bit.ly/SUB2LISTEN Time for an announcement about the fifth annual horror movie festival called "Summer Slash." Johnny Spoiler, introduces the festival and discusses the lineup of spine-chilling movies, including classics like "Girls Night Out" and "Bloody Moon" as well as a double feature of "The Deep House" and "Underwater." The podcast crew will review, discover, and recommend the best horror movies while also spoiling them. They mention a horror movie called "May" coming to Blu-ray in the UK with new special features, and they discuss the actress and the unique nature of the film. They briefly talk about sending Jordan a Blu-ray player for the movies. The conversation shifts to horror movie news, specifically the upcoming release of "Insidious Five," which will explore the story of the Red Demon from the earlier films. They joke that it will be a family-friendly horror movie. The discussion concludes with a mention of "The Nun" and its sequel. Johnny and Jordan then talk about an upcoming sequel to The Exorcist, mentioning original cast members and expressing excitement about having Linda Blair, a horror movie star from the '80s, back in a theater release. The conversation then shifts to a movie called Girls Night Out, where co-eds are stalked by a slasher dressed as a bear. They discuss the marketing strategy of the film, which featured actresses talking about the movie without actually appearing in it. They also mention Hal Holbrook's involvement and how his scenes were edited to appear as if he interacted with other cast members. The conversation touches on movie references and twists in the plot, including the revelation of the killer's identity. Jordan mentions how eerie cello scores from the film were later used in a tornado documentary. They talk about their favorite parts of the movie, including a creepy scene and a shocking twist involving twins. They also mention the uncertainty of the ending and how it adds to the horror. Despite some dips in the middle, they both rate the movie positively and recommend watching it.
