I first came across CJ Connor's debut cozy novel Board to Death my usual way. I simply searched "board game" in the library online catalog. I recognized that I had not read it, so I checked it out. After about two chapters, I just decided to buy it. Edward read it before I had the chance. Anyway, we both loved it, and I reached out to CJ to be on the show. #184 - "Kühe kuscheln - was soll das schon bringen? Und wie soll man davon leben können? Träum mal schön weiter!" - Hätte Joar Berge sich von einem Gedanken wie diesem stoppen lassen, wäre er wohl heute nicht der "Kuhflüsterer", der mit Freunden zusammen den Lebenshof Odenwald führt, auf Instagram und Tiktok ein weltweites Publikum anspricht und - ja, durch Kühe kuscheln! - viele Menschen inspiriert, sogenannte "Nutztiere" eben nicht auf einen bestimmten Zweck zu reduzieren, sondern ihre Emotionen und ihre Kommunikation und Verbundenheit mit uns Menschen zu erkennen. Was, wenn es möglich ist? Deinen Träumen mit Tieren zu folgen? Sei es bei dir auch der Traum, Kühe zu kuscheln bzw. einen Lebenshof für verschiedene Tierarten zu gründen oder auch etwas ganz anderes? Als sich der Wunsch, mit Kühen zu leben, ganz klar in Joar geformt hat, war er KEIN Landwirt und hatte auch keinerlei Beziehungen zu Lebenshöfen usw. Nein, er lebte an der Côte d'Azur und wusste nur: Seine Beziehung, die er als Kind zu Rindern aufbauen durfte (ganz besonders zu Kuh Rexi) war noch immer so präsent in seinem Herzen. Der Wunsch, mit Kühen und anderen Tieren zu leben, war so groß, dass er ihn einfach weiter verfolgen musste. Dies führte ihn schließlich zurück in seine eigentliche Heimatregion, den Odenwald, wo er inzwischen mit seiner eigenen Rinderherde und vielen weiteren Tieren und Menschen auf, bzw. bei, einem Hof lebt. Wie genau es dazu kam und wie er die Idee "Kühe kuscheln und damit auch andere Menschen inspirieren, wieder mehr Verbundenheit mit Tieren zu erleben" in die Tat umsetzte, verrät er uns in der heutigen Episode. Außerdem gehen wir darauf ein, warum er (meiner Meinung nach) eigentlich ganz ähnlich arbeitet wie ich, wieso so viele Menschen von seinen "Kuhvideos" inspiriert sind und was er noch gerne alles in der Tierwelt verändern möchte. He's a songwriter with an illustrious and diverse résumé, a composer of film scores and an arranger in the genres of jazz, rock, classical and pop - to name a few. He's musically directed several successful performing groups, including jazzy-dance-funk octet BeArthur, nine-piece corporate event band Party of Nine and his own shape-shifting ensemble Mark Marinaccio and Friends. Earlier gaining his experience from the IRCAM Research Center, now composer is working and living in Vienna. In 2004 he was awarded the Austrian State Prize for his extraordinary creative work. Musicologist Ona Jarmalavičiūtė talked with this composer about the formulation of music in a search for logical roots of art.

Deep down, she often felt that something was "off," but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Through much self-discovery, she realized that the culture had a shaming undertone. Sonia has since left the studio and has found many ways to move her body in ways she loves. You can find her writing memoir type letters on her blog to connect with others who experience the same shame she did. Her devotion to helping her students grow up with a positive body image and relationship to moving their bodies is down right inspiring.
