The Dallas Stars complete an improbable 3rd period comeback to win 7-6 over the San Jose Sharks in overtime. Wyatt Johnston makes Franchise History with a 5 point night which included a his first career hat trick and first Star to have multiple 20 goal seasons before his 21st birthday. Logan Stankoven followed up with a four point night and added his first career multi goal game. Joey relives the emotional roller coaster of last night's games including the Stars unserious play at times and how atrocious the defense was for large parts of the game. However, the Stars did win to maintain first place in the Central Division. The celebration of Stankoven and Johnston continues in the second segment. Stankoven sparked the Stars in the first period by drawing to penalties that led to power play goals and scored fourth goal to spur on the comeback. The final segment is one last rant from Joey on how he never wants to see Ryan Suter and Jani Hakanpaa as a pair ever again. It does not matter who you pari Miro Heiskanen, Thomas Harley, or Chris Tanev with, as long as those two are not together. Plenty of news came out of practice Monday for the Dallas Stars and the most intriguing storyline is Chris Tanev. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey goes over Tanev and the immigration process that may keep him out of tonight's game against the San Jose Sharks. If Tanev does join the team and is inserted into the lineup, where does he fit. The Stars and Head Coach Pete DeBoer can experiment some, but they have less than 20 games to figure out what works best. Joey would like to see Tanev paired with Heiskanen to put Miro on his strong side, plus spread the wealth with Thomas Harley to another partner. The key however, is to break up Jani Hakanpaa and Esa Lindell who have the worst expected goals against rate of all pairings. We also touch on the news of Tyler Seguin skating once again and the possibility is Evgenni Dadanov being out for the season. Then we preview tonight's game against the Sharks. The beginning of a three game west coast trip begins against the Sharks that took Dallas the distance a few days ago. Joey's key to the game is Mason Marchment and Matt Duchene finding a way to be productive without Tyler Seguin. DeBoer has struggled to found someone to fill that role and he expects those two to drive the line back to success. Marchment is without a point in his last five. Finally the last segment we play shooting star! Today's pick is the young rookie Logan Stankoven, Joey has not picked Stanky yet, so he goes bold and predicts a Hat Trick at the tank! On today's episode of Locked On Stars, we see if the Dallas Stars lineup matches recent Stanley Cup Champions. The Athletic put out an article called the Stanley Cup Checklist and gives a grade to certain position and players based on those positions amongst Cup champions to find commonalities. The Stars get passing grades with Miro Heiskanen and Thomas Harley, but failing grades with Jake Oettinger and Esa Lindell. The article was published prior to the trade for Chris Tanev, does this change your outlook on the Stars moving forward? Plus the impact of Logan Stankoven in just a handful of games. We move on to the Stars shootout victory over the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks are in line for the number one pick this summer, but they gave the Stars a game. Mainly Magnus Chrona who was incredible, stopping 36 shots and matching save for save with Oettinger until Jamie Benn won the game in the skills competition. Joey was more concerned with the amount of odd man rushes given up in the game rather than the way the won. Coming off a shootout win, the Stars are 10-0-9 past regulation this season. We ask the question, is overtime going to haunt the Stars in the playoffs again? Dallas only won one overtime game in the postseason in a must win game 5 at home in the western conference finals. Is it time the Stars change their approach to the extra period? Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19 Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
The Dallas Stars stay in first place in the Central Division after a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets last night. They have won all three games this season against the Jets and have held them under two goals or less in all three matchups. Logan Stankoven made franchise history with a goal in his 3rd straight game, the first player to do that in the first week of their NHL career. He has provided a spark for Dallas and he's here to stay. The top line looked like themselves, Jason Robertson, Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz all scored in the victory as things are starting to look up after a rough stretch. Part of that is the return of Nils Lundkvist who played over 13 minutes in his first game back and really never missed a beat. Handled the Jets physicality well and made plays when he needed too. Joey breaks down what he would like the defensive pairings to look like when Chris Tanev joins the team. To wrap up the podcast, we look at the month of March. The Stars will play 13 games in which nine of them come against teams that are not in the playoffs. The Stars have a chance to make up ground with Winnipeg having four games in hand and Colorado still hot on their tail. Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19 Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
The Dallas Stars made a splash a week before the trade deadline by getting Calgary Flames defensemen Chris Tanev. Tanev was a sought after player for many teams looking for a physical, gritty player that gets the job done in his own zone. Not only did the Stars get Tanev, but General Manager Jim Nill was able to get 75% of his salary retained which also included the New Jersey Devils. Joey breaks down the trade details, his opinion on the trade and how the Stars are heading in the right direction after a sub par last two weeks. We must come back to reality for a bit because the Stars top line of Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski are having a rough month. They've combined for just 17 points in 12 games and for the most part have not generated much offense. For a line that has dominated the past two seasons, we are not seeing enough productivity Dallas needs moving forward. With Stankoven being a great fit on the 3rd line, when Seguin gets back, if the top trio gets going again the Stars offense will be dangerous. Finally, we preview the Winnipeg Jets who have won four straight games and our 7-3 in their last 10. Dallas won the first two meetings back in November, so how do the Stars respond after a brutal loss in Colorado. Will Chris Tanev be in the lineup? A battle for 1st place in the Central Division is on the line. Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19 Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
Logan Stankoven made his highly anticipated NHL Debut this weekend in Carolina. The Dallas Stars pulled out a huge 2-1 victory of the Hurricanes to stop a four game skid during a tough road trip. However, Stankoven provided a ton of the excitement, the AHL leading scorer this season did not register a point, but he looked like an everyday NHL player that fit right in. Joey is pleading the Stars to keep in the lineup, he's a responsible defender and may be the missing piece to complete the pair of Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston. It also makes it easier to move off players such as Ty Dellandrea as the deadline creeps closer. We shift to the Islanders, who won the first meeting in the first game under new Head Coach Patrick Roy. Since then they have struggled and find themselves 7 points out of a playoff spot. This is an important game for Dallas since they have to get on a plane to face Colorado the next day. The final topic is Shooting Star, Joey has been on fire with his picks lately and goes out on a limb tonight against the Islanders. Who is your pick?? The Dallas Stars lose once again in Ottawa and get handed their fourth straight loss is what is becoming an awful road trip. The Stars are dealing with injuries and playing great teams, but last night was ugly. Joey releases his frustrations and points out how this was the situation the Stars could not afford. Their lack of depth defensively got them by the majority of the season, but now with injuries to Jani Hakanpaa and Nils Lundkvist they are trying to put a band aid on a much larger problem. The lone bright spot in the game was Joe Pavelski who scored his 20th goal of the season. It's his 14th season where he has reached the 20 goal mark and joins a list of Mike Modano, Patrick Kane and Keith Tkachuk who have more as U.S born players. Dallas must make a move at the deadline if they truly want to win a Stanley Cup and they need Jake Oettinger to be more consistent. It's a problem well documented and will be the end of them if it's not addressed. The Stars will try to salvage the road trip in Carolina tomorrow after defeating the Hurricanes a week ago. Joey then segways into a rant on Jamie Benn and how his play has not been up to par recently.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19 Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Dallas Stars lost in a shootout Monday afternoon, but outplayed one of the best teams in the NHL while shorthanded. The Stars were without Miro Heiskanen, Matt Duchene, Jani Hakanpaa and Nils Lundkvist against the Bruins. Joey explains, despite the loss, how the version we saw of the Stars in this game was one that can win the Stanley Cup. They played with an edge, were physical and rose to the challenge in a game they really should have no business being in. Thomas Harley stepped up and played over 29 minutes, Ryan Suter pitched in a goal and forced the Bruins to score a 6 on 5 goal late to send it to overtime. Bruins won the game in a shootout that went 9 rounds. Injuries are starting to pile up in an already thin defensive group. Derrick Pouliot and Alexander Petrovic were recalled from the Texas Stars to fill in for Heiskanen and Hakanpaa. Pouliot and Petrovic have over 200 games of experience in the NHL and played really well for just jumping into the fire. This is a time for the Stars to flex the depth they have and pick up points along the way. The final segment we take a look at the adversity the Stars are dealing with this season and how that can be used moving forward. A team that has been very healthy the past few seasons is running into some bumps. How it effects the trade deadline and leverage for the Stars who are down two right handed defensemen. A team that has been very healthy the past few seasons is running into some bumps. How it effects the trade deadline and leverage for the Stars who are down two right handed defensemen.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
The Dallas Stars get a huge win over the Carolina Hurricanes by a final score of 4-2 yesterday at home. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey celebrates one of the most complete wins of the season for the Stars against one of the hottest teams in the NHL. The Stars we're really good in different facets of the game, and more importantly closed out the game in the 3rd period. Jason Robertson scored the go ahead goal and Matt Duchene sealed the win with an empty netter. Joey explains how important that game was in giving him confidence in the Stars moving forward and winning games come playoff time. Roope Hintz tallied a goal and Jani Hakanpaa chipped in with two assists. All in all a great night at the AAC. The next topic is about the recent news of Evgenii Dadonov who will be out for 4 to 6 weeks with a lower body injury he suffered against Montreal on the weekend. Not only does this give Ty Dellandrea an opportunity to play on an every day basis, but Dallas may have to make a call up from the Texas Stars. Which begs the question, do we get to see Logan Stankoven of Mavrik Bourque? Joey discusses the options the Stars have moving forward with the Dadonov injury. The final segment highlights Jake Oettinger who made 32 saves in his 3rd straight win and 6th straight win at home which ties a career high. Otter playing some of his best hockey of the season makes the Stars a very dangerous team with the depth they currently have. The Dallas Stars have some of the best prospects in the American Hockey League this season in Logan Stankoven and Mavrik Bourque, but where does the entire prospect pool rank. Joey takes a look at an article from The Athletic that ranked the Stars prospect pool 21st out of 32 teams. We look at individual players including Lian Bichel, Aram Minnietian and Christian Kyrou who are three young defensemen that have abilities and characteristics that the current Stars are lacking. We highlight some of those traits and how how important it is to his on some of these prospects since you more than likely plan to move off some players like Jani Hakanpaa and Esa Lindell in the near future. The juicy part of the episode revolves around tonights game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes have been on a role lately and Joey explains the similar styles the Stars and Hurricanes like to play and why it makes such a fun match up. The first period will be a crucial one for Dallas who is coming off a three game road trip. Carolina has been outscored 26-21 in the first period on the road this season. Stars need a fast start and play with a lead in front of Jake Oettinger. The return of shooting star calls for the first time this player has been chosen. Roope Hintz has two points in his last five games. Going up against fellow countrymen Sebastian Aho, will spur on Hintz to a big night and hopefully a Stars win.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Dallas Stars penalty kill gives up three goals for the second time this season as they fall 5-4 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Today's episode of Locked On Stars revolves around a pk that has fallen since the new year. Since Jan. 1st the Stars have a 74% penalty kill percentage which is the 26th worst in the NHL and have given up eight goals in last 13 chances. Joey states they can fix it if they want to. Miro Heiskanen is a world class talent and he needs to start killing penalties. If not, then Thomas Harley needs to, no more exclusive pk work from Esa Lindell and Jani Hakanpaa. At one point they were one of the best units in hockey, but now it's not and they can fix it by playing their best players in those situations. Next up is the underwhelming play on the blue line. Last night's game answered the question if you need another defensemen? The Stars gave up three power play goals, had a backup goalie in net and still almost won the game. Adding another piece would make them a true contender with the offense they already have. Finally we finish taking a look at the central division race and what would be the best first round outcome for the Stars come playoff time.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Dallas Stars like many teams are limited with their options due to cap space and Matt Duchene is the current headliner of Stars due up for a new contract. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, we take a look at the current cap situation for the Dallas Stars and which may players may stay or test free agency. Ty Dellandrea and Sam Steel are two forwards that are intriguing, Dellandrea has been healthy scratched more of often than not this season, but is only 23 and teams may target him as a potential trade piece. Sam Steel has been a great addition for the Stars, but will he be looking for something more stable moving forward? However the Stars can let them both walk because Mavrik Bourque and Logan Stankoven look to be more than ready to make the jump up the NHL. We also look at defenseman Nils Lundkvist and Jani Hakanpaa and what their futures might hold. The second segment is a comparison of the 99 Stanley Cup Champion Stars and the current team. Yes this maybe a bit silly, but it is fun to take a look at the makeup and how much the game has changed in two decades. Besides the the 99 team being littered with Hall of Famers, through 49 games, the two teams have very similar records. Perhaps a good sign for this season? Finally, Joey gives a synopsis of a Sean Shapiro story about Esa Lindell finding his way into ownership of a storied hockey club in Finland he once played for.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Dallas Stars blew out the Chicago Blackhawks by an 8-1 final on New Year's Eve. Mason Marchment had a hat trick in route to a four point night and completing back to back games for the Stars with hat tricks when Roope Hintz did it two nights prior. Tyler Seguin had 3 points and only three players left the game without a point for Dallas. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey believes this is a glimpse of how great the Stars can be. Obviously, the Blackhawks are one of the bottom five teams in the league, but the dominating nature of the win makes him think this could be their potential. Included with that is the play of the defense, it's important that the Stars defensive core plays great in their own zone, but also produces offensively and December has show that. Miro Heiskanen had 15 points in the month, Thomas Harley had 11, Jani Hakanpaa and Esa Lindell are chipping in as well and with the personnel Dallas has currently, they must play this way to have ultimate success. The final segment is about 2024 resolutions for the Dallas Stars, the first two are obvious and certain ones that Joey has expressed before such as bringing in another right shot defensemen, bringing the goals against average down, but Joey really wants Jake Oettinger to be fully healthy. Otter has been skating, but its very important that Otter takes all the time he needs and is ready to return at full tilt. The Stars are winning and Scott Wedgewood has been more than impressive in his absence. Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19 Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Dallas Stars fall to the St. Louis Blues by the final score of 2-1 last night out of Christmas break. Jason Robertson scored the lone goal for Dallas off a pass from Roope Hintz. Scott Wedgewood was phenomenal especially on the penalty kill, but Joel Hofer for St. Louis made 39 saves to hand Dallas a lost. The show opens with Joey's main takeaways from the game which include the Stars were the better team for the majority of the contest, but once again fall into a two nothing hole. Eventually, it will catch up to you and it did last night even though they out-chanced the Blues 31-11 in the game. The game was open and not as physical as expected so both sides had good looks offensively and one goalie was just a bit better. The 2nd segment praises the incredible PK for the Stars that once again killed off an entire 2 minute 5 on 3 and double minor consecutively to keep them in the game heading into the 3rd period. Jani Hakanpaa and Esa Lindell have been outstanding as almost an exclusive duo on the penalty kill and went 4-for-4 yesterday. The final segment dissects a power play that has gone bone dry, they are now 0-for-16 and have not scored in five straight games. Their entries have been the main point of interest for Joey who speculates they've struggled to find open ice and generate off the rush as of late. They are getting shots through which is a silver lining, but are having trouble being connected as a unit most nights.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Coming out of the Christmas break for the National Hockey League, Joey begins today's episode of Locked On Stars discussing the unbelievable win the Dallas Stars had against the Nashville Predators on Saturday. The Stars made history by becoming the first team to score the tying goal and go ahead goal in the final 15 seconds of regulation. Craig Smith and Jani Hakanpaa were the two goal scores along with Evgenii Dadanov to erase a two goal deficit in the 3rd period. The two biggest takeaways for Joey over the last week is tightening up defensively and being able to win from behind. The Stars lead the NHL with 12 come from behind wins this season. We then segway into a conversation about the power play that is 0 for the last 14 opportunities. Dallas has been able to win without it by holding opponents off the scoresheet on the man advantage, but it could make life much easier if they get it rolling again. Joey offers some solutions and why he thinks the power play has slipped over the past week. The show wraps up by praising Scott Wedgewood who has put up a 9-1-2 record in 12 games this season and has been an anchor since Jake Oettinger went down with an injury. He allows the Stars to be in every game and has such a great compete level since switching his mindset to being a number one goalie instead of a backup. His presence has been superb this season and a big reason why the Stars are in first place in the Central Division and top 5 in the NHL.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

With the Dallas Stars having a few days off, on today's episode of Locked On Stars Joey gives three names the Stars should look at as potential trade targets. Of course, a lot of is dependent on cap space and what the Stars can provide, is Ty Dellandrea, Nils Lundkvist or Jani Hakanpaa expendable? The three names are three defensemen, Sean Walker from Philadelphia, Chris Tanev from Calgary who has recently suffered and injury and finally Brett Pesce from Carolina. These three players have multiple things in common, number one they are right shot defensemen which the Stars desperately and number two play a more defensive style of game which could really help add some depth to the Stars D core that is very thin. Then Joey provides an update about the Texas Stars who are currently in first place in the Central Division and holster the two leading scorers in the league with Logan Stankoven and Mavrik Bourque. Who knows, with the potential of the Stars having to make some moves in order to be a real contender, maybe Stankoven and Bourque will get some time in the NHL down the stretch. Finally, Jamie Benn recorded his 500th career assist on Miro Heiskanen's power play goal on Monday as he continues to climb franchise leaderboards. Joey reflects on his time with the Stars and how much of an impact he has had besides questions about his contract.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Miro Heiskanen has a three point night including two goals and an assist as the Dallas Stars take down the Detroit Red Wings 6-3. Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson and Matt Duchene all had goals in the game and it was great that the Stars best players had good games. Jake Oettinger also had a solid night make 27 saves and picking up his 11th win of the season. Overall, it was a much better effort from the entire club than we had seen in the previous two weeks. Sam Steel continue his good stretch of play with two more assists in the game, helping the fourth line contribute offensively. The story of the night though, is the offensive display from Stars defense men who combined for seven points. Esa Lindell with a goal and an assist, Jani Hakanpaa had a assist and Joel Hanley got his first point of the season which is hopefully signs to come for a group that ranks one of the worst in point percentages in the NHL. More importantly, this win leads to a much needed two day break for the Stars after a very busy stretch of hockey against very good teams. Dallas will be back at again on Friday vs the Ottawa Senators.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Dallas Stars offense exploded for eight goals on Saturday afternoon in an 8-1 win over the Lightning. The Stars had eight players with multi point nights including Joe Pavelski, Thomas Harley, Mason, Marchment, Tyler Seguin and more! The PK continues to be great as they went 5/6 on the game and the new look power play units went 2/2 including a patented Pavelski deflection goal to extend his point streak to nine games. Esa Lindell and Jani Hakanpaa played big minutes on the penalty kill and have been huge factors to the success this season. However, the big storyline entering the game was Pete DeBoer healthy scratched Nils Lundkvist and Evgenni Dadanov. Joey shares his thoughts on why they might have done this and how it affects the Stars lineup. The show finishes with 3 keys to the game against Tampa Bay tonight as the Stars begin their three game road trip.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The big question of the day is do the Dallas Stars trust Nils Lundkvist? Coming off a win over Winnipeg, Lundkvist did not play in the final 15 minutes of the 3rd period which is a cause for concern considering some of the strides he's made this season. Of course Miro Heiskanen is going to chew up most minutes in tight games, but Pete DeBoar is going with Ryan Suter, Jani Hakanpaa and Esa Lindell in close games. Is the emergence of Thomas Harley also the problem? Stars 19 year old prospect in the AHL, Lian Bichsel, is headed back to Sweden. Joey shares Jim Nill's conversation with Saad Yousef from the Athletic and why this could be a good thing in the long run for Dallas. Also, an update on the Texas Stars who are leading the Central Division in the AHL. Finally, we spotlight Joe Pavelski who leads the Stars in scoring this season at 39 years old. The future hall of famer is much more than a presence on the ice, he's leadership will leave a mark on the Stars for years to come.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The future hall of famer is much more than a presence on the ice, he's leadership will leave a mark on the Stars for years to come. Jake Oettinger makes 27 saves and the Dallas Stars shutout the Winnipeg Jets as the Stars are now 8-1-1 on the road, which is the best 10 game start in franchise history. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey breaks down what he thinks is the best defensive performance for the Stars this season. He discusses what helped shutdown the Jets offense and how they were able to keep them from sustaining zone time and creating chances. The Stars D core of Thomas Harley, Esa Lindell and Jani Hakanpaa had big nights for Dallas especially on the penalty kill. The PK was 4/4 on the night and had to kill two long stretches on 5 on 3 time which was very impressive, a combination of not allowing the Jets to get interior and great goaltending from Oettinger in his first shutout of the season. Joey praises the forwards groups of well and individuals such as Joe Pavelski who scored his 10th goal of the season and extended his point streak to seven games. Tyler Seguin scored his 7th off a great pass from Mason Marchment. Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson and Matt Duchene all picked up assists on the two goals. The Stars needed to tighten up defensivly after allowing over five goals per game during their home stand and this is a great step in the right direction. The Stars take on the Calgary Flames tomorrow night.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The 2022 NHL Draft is upon us, and it's time to start speculating about who the Dallas Stars will select in Montreal. Today, we examine three defensemen who could be the newest additions to the Texas hockey family. Lian Bichsel is a massive player with a ton defensive upside. Could he step in as a younger Jani Hakanpaa? Owen Pickering is a skilled d-man who can move the puck with a lot of efficiency. Could help improve the Stars game in the neutral zone? Lane Hutson is one of the smallest players in the draft, but he may also be one of the hardest workers. Could he be a great fit for the organization and be a mid-round steal for Dallas?Subscribe to Locked on Stars on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/LockedOnStarsFollow Dane on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Dane__LewisFollow the show on Twitter: https://twitter.com/LockedOnStarsFind Locked on Stars on you Favorite Podcast Platform:Apple: https://tinyurl.com/3wjnbvp2Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/2p9yx4urGoogle: https://tinyurl.com/2yc492b7Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. On today's show, Dane gives you a breakdown of what happened in the Stars 4-1 loss to the rival St. Louis Blues. The two teams kept things close through two periods, then Dallas began committing mistakes that put themselves in a whole too deep to climb out of. Despite the yucky result, Dallas saw some great performances from Jani Hakanpaa, Robo, Pavs and rookie Riley Damiani who scored a goal in his NHL debut. To close out the show, Dane gives his take on who the most important player on the Stars is and how the Stars are truly lost without him.Follow Dane on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Dane__LewisFollow the show on Twitter: https://twitter.com/LockedOnStarsSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!BetOnline AGThere is only 1 place that has you covered and 1 place we trust. Now with 10 days of the 2021-22 season in the books, we take a look at what is going on around the league and the world. Kavalchuk, who has not officially retired from hockey, has been named new GM of the Russian National Team. We delve into this and the coaches that have been named as well. Matt Shasby has been dubbed the new head coach of the University of Alaska at Anchorage ice hockey team, which will start up next season after much fundraising garnered enough money to bring it back. Drew Doughty has been injured after a knee to knee hit with Jani Hakanpaa. Is this another Samuelsson on Neely situation? The USHL held their Fall Classic and the NAHL held their Showcase this past week. There was a turnout, reportedly, of over 300 scouts at the Showcase which indicates that teams, professional and otherwise, are leaving no stone unturned for talent. Brad Marchand is 2 assists away from 400. The Kraken have already retired a number...32. Eichel could file a grievance with the NHL and Bill Guerin could be in hot water from his time with the Pens. So much to discuss so let us know what you think and Enjoy the Show!

I broke down the Flyers Issues verse Boston. If we can play defense and control David Pastrnak I think we can win. I broke down the defensemen we need in a trade to make the Flyers a lot better. I described how Duncan Keith and Jani Hakanpaa could be perfect matches to hopefully take the Flyers to the next level. Also, I broke down the trade values for these two men. Keith Duncan will be higher than Jani Hakanpaa. The Sixers did awful against teams like the Kings, Portland, Suns, and Jazz. What changed when we played Houston, Chicago, and Toronto both times. It's because we were guarding the right players and our pick-and-roll defense got a little better. I also broke down the trade value for Kyle Lowry if we decide to trade for him. What do you think?
The Anaheim Ducks made a couple moves by re-signing Jani Hakanpaa and Christian Djoos to one-year extensions. JD breaks down those re-signings as well as talking about the comments made by Brendan Leipsic and others. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
