Reaching out and creating community with fellow podcast hosts! This exciting episode, we meet Rachael Go, a fellow host in the mixed race community, who co-hosts with her two siblings on the Mixd Movement podcast. We discuss Rachel's upbringing, reuniting with her siblings, podcasting insights, as well as her contribution to the Breast Cancer foundation in a contest “FabOver40”“Rachael Go, a Midwest native, was born into a unique family situation. She was the only one of mixed race. Rachael grew up knowing her dad and her biological father were two different people. This family dynamic led to a confusing and isolating adolescence. As an adult, Rachael moved to the Pacific Northwest. After settling into her new home, she began to notice other mixed-race people had their own unique, yet similar life experiences. This inspired her to create a podcast to empower others to love and accept all aspects of themselves. She created and launched The Mix'd Movement Podcast in May of 2022. She currently co-hosts with her two estranged half-siblings after reconnecting while grieving the passing of their biological father. Rachael also founded Polished Velvet while diving into a career in personal development coaching. She primarily works with clients navigating the nuances of their racial identity. When Parker Palmer was approaching his seventies, he turned to a group of trusted friends to help him understand “what it meant to grow older in this particular dimension of life.” The process birthed one of my favorite questions he asks… What do I want to let go of? And, what do I want to give myself to? Despite articulating it in his seventies, Parker has devoted his life to it as an acclaimed author, teacher, and the Founder of the Center for Courage and Renewal. It's why, after completing his PhD in 1969, he felt called to respond to racial injustice as a community organizer in Washington D.C. rather than pursue the secure academic path expected of him. “It was a job that met the challenge of my soul and gave that soul a chance to grow,” he says. “People would often ask me: ‘Why are you doing this?' I remember saying: ‘I can't really explain it to you. I can barely explain it to myself, but I can tell you this: I can't not do it.' ‘I can't not do it' became a mantra for me. I started to understand that this is what one calls the soul's imperatives. This is a path that I'm walking because something in me understands that if I don't walk it—if I don't respond to some of the deepest yearnings of my soul—I'm going to lose my soul in the long run. I think [the soul] has something to do with the ‘being' in human being; And, that our very beings cry out for a way of being in the world, for a service to the world, for something that makes our lives more than just our own. It's a voice I think we all need to be listening for.” Our conversation is an exploration of how to connect more deeply with that voice. We delve into how to hear what Parker calls our “inner teacher” as well as the incredible practice he teaches for trusted friends to support each other in that process.

More often than not, we find ourselves unstoppably scrolling through our phones because, at some point, we're already exhausted enough to our deepest points. No energy left to move. Lost ourselves against all negative emotions. As a result, we think we cannot change our world. But the truth is we are. We can change the world by living by our purpose. This episode is all about the importance of spending 80% of your time doing your life's passion. So join me as we let all unrewarding habits go and shift into those that lead us to our life's greatest point. “Depending on what perspective or lens you look at it through, you can be the victim or the victor.” – Keith Kalfas Why do you have to listen to today's episode. 00:44 – Choose to do things you love and break everything down into smaller tasks. This helps lessen the exhaustion. 04:03 – Surround yourself with your “fab five.” Sometimes, learning comes from other people's experiences, so learn from it. 06:55 – You're capable of changing the world. Look at things from a spiritual perspective. Don't waste willpower on unrewarding things. 11:15 – Always choose to become the victor and not the victim. You'd want to live 80% of your time doing your life's purpose. 14:03 – To reach greater heights, you should cut out all negativity in your life. You shouldn't have a foundation built from lies. Key Takeaways “When you do something– things that you love, they inspire you, and they give you the energy that comes from a source and a place a never-ending. Its constant abundance. It gives you the energy to do it. It doesn't feel like work. But when you do things that you feel like you have to do or that is a chore, they drain your willpower, and they suck you dry.” “It's very important to have people around you – your fab five – that can give you perspective.” “You're supposed to live your life's deepest calling and change the world. You're supposed to build the multimillion-dollar business that gets to a point where it's residual, where you can go give back and save the Earth.” “The thing that gives you the reason to become a very structured person with high levels of aspirations – a high demand on yourself in high success – is that you know your life's mission, mandate, and purpose, and you're not confused on it. When you know what your life's purpose is, you get very much clear about everything else.” Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram YouTube LinkedIn Website Resources/People Mentioned: My Website: Official Site Keith Kalfas My Blog: The Blog of Keith Kalfas My Resources: Resources (keithkalfas.com) Eben Pagan's Wake Up Productive: Wake Up Productive by Eben Pagan Dr. David R. My wife was a bit frustrated because an event occurred outside of her control; although I had no intention of being mean, I initially felt nothing. But, while she told me stories of her hardship, I started to have these epiphanies. It was too powerful not to share it with you since you might also be experiencing the same thing. Time Management. Time management is important; if we don't manage our time correctly, we may consume all our energy on non-important things. Time Management will keep us productive, then by surrounding ourselves with positive people and energy, their vibrations bounce back to our own, ensuring that we live our lives on purpose. This week's show will be about living in the lenses of success, spending more time in our mandate, and not getting utterly exhausted with tasks that feel like chores. “Depending on what perspective or lens you look at it through, you can be the victim or the victor.” – Keith Kalfas Why do you have to listen to today's episode 04:26 - Doing something we are passionate about is different from working on something we feel is a chore. Typically, we spend 30-50% of our time working and scrolling mindlessly on our phones. 07:45 - Other people's situations can give you epiphanies as you watch how their events play out. It's vital to surround yourself with people who can provide you with perspective. 10:37 - As a human being, you are meant to live your deepest calling and passion. Discover your purpose, set healthy boundaries, and stay focused on it. 14:30 - Live life through the lens of victory. By doing so, you'll be able to spend 80% of your time on your passion. 17:17 - Clear your head of negativity, and people will not control you. Feel the energy of your higher purpose. Key Takeaways “When you do something – things that you love, they inspire you and give you energy that comes from a source and from a place that is never-ending. It's constant abundance. Your purpose has been hardcoded into you since before you were born. But often, that purpose lies dormant as we try to navigate this world. It gets buried beneath the many layers of obligation and expectation, which is why it feels ever-elusive and impossible for most to pin down. Some people come across their purpose early in life. But for many, it takes a truly challenging chapter to activate us. To crack us so far open that we can no longer live out of alignment with our deepest truth. It's time to thread that storyline and uncover the purpose of the path you're walking, and that's exactly what we'll be diving into in this profound conversation. Today's special guest Stephenie Zamora has been merging the worlds of personal development, digital media, and online marketing to help individuals build purpose-driven lives and businesses for over a decade. She'll be sharing actionable tools and processes to start utilizing this work for yourself so that you can feel clear and confident around what your unique purpose is in the world. Stephenie Zamora is an author and coach, business and marketing strategist, and founder of Stephenie Zamora Media—a digital media and production company, publishing house, and a full-service life-purpose development, branding, and online marketing boutique. Her work helps catalyze individuals on their healing and growth journeys so they can uncover the purpose of their path, step into who they're here to be, and do the work they're here to do. She does this through several distinct brand verticals that follow a proven five-phase process and house various digital media content, educational programs, inspirational and motivational products, and services to support their growth at any scale.

“The two most important days of your life; the day you were born and the day you figured out why” - Mark Twain In this episode- Heath talks about the importance of finding our purpose and discovering what it is that we are destined to do with our lives. Too often, we think that a passion or hobby or short term interest is our calling, but we don't often define WHY we feel that way. Sometimes it is ego, other times it is someone else's definition of what our life should look like. We will not truely live life to its fullest until we identify our purpose and move in a direction to merge our life's path with it. “Get busy with life's purpose, toss aside empty hopes, get active in your own rescue — if you care for yourself at all — and do it while you can.” — Marcus Aurelius Does being a Stoic mean you can be apathetic? Does not reacting mean that you just give up? Because Stoicism is about controlling your response, it can easily seem that you just let things just happen and don't take action. But to be a true Stoic, you are the opposite of apathetic. You are effective. By taking the time to choose your shot, you don't waste time or energy on the things you can't control. Often, we confuse action with actually doing something useful. Because Stoicism is about taking responsibility for ourselves, we need to be smart about the actions we choose. When we take the time to make a deliberate and well thought out choice. We want to be effective, not busy.
This week, I am challenging you to apply this same business technique in your own life and write your Life's Purpose Statement. I remember eleven years ago when I applied this concept to my own life. This was a major transitional time for me and many of the tools I'll share with you as we move forward, were first learned during this pivotal time of my life. Before writing my personal mission statement, I took what life gave me and never really invested the time to determine what was important to me. I never identified my values or necessarily felt that it was important that the people I surrounded myself with shared in those values. Being an empath and highly sensitive person, I carried around a lot of energy and beliefs that really were not my own at all. I never identified exactly what was important to me and I also never ruled out the things that we're absolutely not acceptable for me...and as an empath, you pick up all sorts of energies from others that can cloud your thinking. That's why it's so important to create this statement. It's your most valuable assessment tool that will help you stay on your path and manifest your next level life. A Life's Purpose Statement helps you to create boundaries—and stick to them. If you're a healer and/or empath, then you 100% will benefit from this exercise as well as the lessons associated with honoring yourself first and sticking to it! Imagine being able to quickly make a tough decision or indecisive choice by asking yourself, does this fit in with my Life's Purpose Statement? Will this move me forward on my journey, delay me or hold me back? Is this in alignment with my purpose? Too many times we rely on others to help us make decisions on things that only we know the answers to. Having a Life's Purpose Statement will empower you by establishing your values in advance and creating the boundaries necessary to stay on course. For this exercise you will need some paper and a pen/pencil. I encourage you to actually write this out on paper rather that typing so you can slow down and really connect to your ideas, thoughts, visions, etc. We will follow the same guidelines that business use when writing their Mission Statement: 1 What is my life's purpose? 2 What do I want to be known for? 3 What kind of impact do I want to make? 4 What do I believe in? 5 What things make me feel fulfilled? 6 What talents/gifts/passions do I have to share with the world? 7 How do I want to behave in the world? 8 What am I passionate about? After journaling on these eight questions. Complete the following statement as a more concise version of everything you wrote: My purpose in life is to (life purpose, known for) using my (talents/gifts/passions) so that (your impact). Visit these questions often as you continue to refine your statement. Keep it short and concise. The key is to have it handy--I like to write things out on notecards and stick them to my bathroom mirror so they're in my face, inspiring me to consistently assess things in my life. Bonus points if you memorize it ;) Remember, your Life's Purpose Statement will continue to evolve as you do! Looking forward to diving into this deeper on tomorrow's podcast! Sending you so much love from NYC! XOXOCM @mindsettomanifesation

This is the debut episode of the new BCTR director Tony Burrow! Tony welcomes Patrick Hill, who studies how individuals consider and ultimately commit to a purpose for life. Hill notes that we all face difficult times where we have to decide who we are and where we want to go. He's interested in helping people find direction at times of uncertainty by determining what the best choices are for them by identifying their own direction in life. He and Tony also discuss the lifespan perspective of his work and his current research in retirement communities. Patrick Hill is an associate professor of psychological and brain sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. His research focuses on understanding how dispositional traits predict and shape trajectories of healthy aging. Hill's current research is interested in how individuals explore options for and ultimately commit to a purpose for life, and how having a sense of purpose predicts important life outcomes. In addition, he examines the lifespan development of pro-social personality characteristics, such as dispositional gratitude and forgiveness, as well as how these traits influence relationship outcomes. His research program considers these questions with the intent of promoting healthy development from adolescence into older adulthood. Doing Translational Research is produced by Carrie Chalmers.

Talking with Corbie was fun, hilarious, and insightful. The time went way too fast! We found out she does between 1,000 and 1,200 readings per year and has for decades! She was also gracious enough to give us a reading before we started the show. We talked about being psychic, how to tell if you're talking to a real psychic if you're getting a reading done, what your guides and angels will – and will not – say or do, and some incredibly insightful advice around living a really meaningful life and taking full advantage of being human. We hope you'll enjoy the conversation as much as we did! To learn more or find out how you can be a guest, visit www.RiseAndShineAsOne.com.
In this episode of the Wisdom & Wanderlust Podcast, Michael and Robyn talk with Lena Papadopoulos, an award-winning intercultural educator, facilitator, speaker, life transformation coach and aspiring astrologist. Lena's approach is a unique alchemy of her educational and professional background in sociology, psychology, cultural anthropology, international education, experiential learning and leadership development. Using intercultural learning as a catalyst for self-discovery, she works with her clients to help them break free from cultural conditioning so they can reconnect with themselves, embody their unique potential and make a positive impact in the world. Lena discusses the intersection of intercultural education and life coaching and how the two complement one another. She talks about Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions and whether people can change from introverted and individualistic tendencies to extroverted and collective tendencies over the course of a lifetime and places lived. She also talks about the differences between our life, soul and right now purposes and how to find these for ourselves. "All the change that we want to see in the world and in bringing people together and in bridging cultural divides and differences and whatever, it all starts with the self." - Lena Papadopoulos [10:03] "So many people use difference as this way to reinforce division or some kind of divide, but it's such an amazing learning opportunity, right? The most innovative things are created when very different types of people come together because they bring different perspectives." - Lena Papadopoulos [16:43] "I think that our core life purpose, our true truest purpose, is to return to the truth of who we are." - Lena Papadopoulos [40:49] "Why does that matter to me? Because I was always the weird Greek girl. I was always sort of like I don't belong here in this place. I don't make sense here. This place doesn't make sense to me, and also stuff with my family and things that I experienced at school. Like all these things made me feel othered, made me feel not wanted somehow or too much in some way or not enough in some way, right? So of course, yeah, I want other people to not feel that." - Lena Papadopoulos [43:58] What You Will Learn: [00:01] Intro [02:33] Lena's life in Oaxaca, Mexico [05:33] Her favorite and least favorite place to live [08:17] Where she got her start as an intercultural educator [11:58] Her definition of culture [13:56] How culture influences how we see the world [17:10] If she focuses on similarities and differences while she travels [19:09] How she prepares for the destination [22:05] Where she got her spontaneity trait [24:43] Things she does that helps her connect with people and culture [28:15] How adaptable are people to certain elements of culture [33:14] What is Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions [35:08] How people can learn more about cultural assessment with Lena [37:49] Shifting to other realms [41:57] Difference between life and soul purpose [44:45] What gets in the way [47:59] Where to contact Lena Papadopoulos [49:01] Rapid fire questions [51:48] Outro Resources: Lena Papadopoulos' website Lena Papadopoulos on Instagram Lena Papadopoulos on LinkedIn Lena Papadopoulos on Explorer X Intercultural Intensive with Lena World Travel: An Irreverent Guide by Anthony Bourdain and Laurie Woolever Cultural Awareness as a Critical Component of Travel with Lena Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions

In the latest episode of FORTY, you'll understand why Bec's absolutely not interested in being 'nice', passionately pushes for cutting yourself some slack during tough times, explains why we all need to get comfortable with awkward conversations, and how she'd rather speak to 10,000 people than go to a party, and so much more. We look at John chapter 3 and its enduring importance in bringing people out of a path to destruction into ultimate salvation. “If we were asked to read to a dying man who did not know the gospel, we should probably select this chapter as the most suitable one for such an occasion; and what is good for dying men is good for us all, for that is what we are; and how soon we may be actually at the gates of death, none of us can tell.” (Spurgeon)

Life is a school. Life is a playground and a school, it's the same thing. And it has a purpose and we come here to learn and we come here to learn who we are and eventually we come here to learn it because what drives us is that we want to be happy. And we want freedom, we want to be able to ride the bike as fast as we can and feel like we're just free. Everybody wants to be free. http://meditationunlimited.com/talks/
When I was declaring a college major, I told my parents that I wanted to become a writer. Their response was: You'll be a teacher. Write on your own time. My only choices were what subject and what age group. So I got as close as I could and majored in English. That turned out to be a good thing for me because I was able to use my education and experience to develop my life path. How many of us, however, are able to break away from the have to's and should's? Women especially need to examine whether we're playing a role, meeting parental, societal or spousal expectations or if we're following our own path. We assume roles to please others. All of us, men and women, must discover who we really are and allow that to emerge into the world. Many men are nurturers and many women are leaders and intellectuals. We must break out of societal conditioning and allow our true purpose to emerge. Please join us Thursday to hear Dan Millman share the wisdom he has garnered in his own search.
In this solo episode, I share tips about how to find your voice and speak your truth. Learn how to overcome self-doubt and limiting beliefs and how to get your voice out in the world in a bigger way and create the change you want to see in the world.
