Welcome back to the School of Whispers Podcast! Season 3 is ready to roll!! It's been 9 months since your host, Stephanie, took a step back from the show to get her life in order. During this time, she's finished her master's program, moved back to her hometown of West Palm Beach, officially become a licensed acupuncture physician, and found herself in a massive dark night of the soul. Within this, she often found herself experiencing deep shame which had her blocking herself spiritually, creatively, and mentally. On this episode, she talks about how she found herself slipping into the arms of shame, and how she's worked her way through it. In true School of Whispers style, this episode tells a story of the lessons which can come from sitting within the whispers of one's darkness. Highlights - A little catch up on the roller-coaster of events which have transpired since season 2 - How lessons on validation, fully embracing her cringe, and more helped Stephanie transform her life within this darker period - Some details into her first time sitting with the plant technology, Iboga Show notes: Connect with salva.seres Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast Paul talks to returning guest Daniel Gasser about letting go and how it has led him on a path to freedom. KEY TAKEAWAYS If you zoom out of the day-to-day stuff, we all have a purpose in life and that's been defined by our higher consciousness before coming here as a human being. That purpose is prevented by our ego, and the reason we're here is to make this journey, to experience things, to get to a point where we realise that if you can just let go of things then the things that are meant for me can come to me. This is very difficult for men like I used to be with a huge ego who needed to have control. Letting go of control takes something from a man. He must first of all become humble, and then see that there are greater things out there than himself. The cool thing is that when we manage to let go, we very quickly experience that good things are coming, the good things we were struggling and fighting for we invisibly and unconsciously pushed away by doing so, they can now come to us as well as many other beautiful things. The higher consciousness is our natural. Normal way of being, it's spirit. This body, mind, brain, heart, emotions are a journey we're making, a dream we're dreaming. The higher state of consciousness has control because it has decided to come here as a human being for whatever reason. The problem comes when you let the ego take control. There's a reason I am here, even if I don't get it. It doesn't matter if I get it or not, in fact it's probably better if I don't. Start to trust in spirit. That something above me – not god or creation – my spirit has decided to live this story here, so it's going to be good and magic things will happen. If we think good things will happen to us, they will and we'll see that this works. BEST MOMENTS ‘I was a man with a huge ego, and a man with a huge ego can't easily let go of things, he has to have control and be in charge and that prevents a lot of things.' ‘It's fear based; if we let go we no longer have control. We don't have control; we just think we do.' ‘Life is not meant to be a struggle or difficult, life is meant to be beautiful.' ‘Emotions are not going to kill us. Why are we so afraid of them?' Because I saw in my own life what's possible if we dare ask for help I live it every day with joy, happiness and bliss. “My higher purpose is to show human beings that we are not slaves, not working robots but highly spiritual, divine and extremely powerful beings. Is to make people see our world as what it is; Paradise and life are a gift, a path we chose as an experience to make our higher consciousness understand what life is. Is to help people increase their brain activity to see beyond the illusion, and the lies and to become empathetic, telepathic and eventually telekinetic. I'd like to begin this episode by acknowledging the land that I am learning and living on in the traditional unceded, un-surrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg People.Have you ever questioned yourself, wondering if you should be the leader? Have you ever wondered if you even wanted to be the leader?Often, these questions get brushed aside in our minds, pushed out of the way in the busyness of life. But eventually, these questions will have to be answered. And so, in this episode, you'll hear from Eric Bauberger, a Holistic Life Coach and Songwriter, Certified in the Mastery Method who will share his story, relaying how he answered these questions, and what he did with the answers. Eric will then offer advice to help emerging leaders answer their own questions, allowing them to be the utmost unconditional leaders possible.Trench Leadership: A Podcast From the Front is humbled to have been named #7 in the Top 20 for Best Canadian Leadership-themed podcasts for 2023.Eric's Episode Links:Linktree: https://linktr.ee/ezenflow Eric's Recommended Book/Movie/Podcast List:Books:1.The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle2. In this episode you discover how to apply mindful awareness with the Letting Go technique developed by David Hawkins, MD, a renoun psychiatrist, author, and spiritual leader. This technique can help you let go of disempowering emotions such as stress, anxiety, worry, grief, and more.Timestamps for chapter topics below.Important Note:No self-help technique including the one we're using in this episode is a substitute for professional care by a licensing therapist, psychologist, or medical doctor if such care and treatment is needed. No technique or information I share in this episode or in any of my audio, video, or written work is intended to diagnose, prevent, or treat any psychological, medical, physical, or emotional condition. If you believe you need professional care, please consult an appropriate licensed medical provider. Also, if you choose to listen to the remainder of this episode or you choose to apply any of the information I share in this episode, you agree to assume full, complete, and sole responsibility for your own psychological, emotional, medical, and / or physical wellbeing. The step-by-step procedure for applying the Letting Go technique as shared in this episode is:1. Identify the emotion or feeling that you want to release. This could be anger, sadness, fear, or any other negative emotion. If you can't give it a definite name, use “That feeling” or “That sensation”.2. Notice where you feel the emotion in your body. Really tune into the physicality of what you're feeling and where it is located in your body.3. Fully experience the emotion without resistance. This means allowing yourself to feel the emotion without trying to suppress it, express it, or distract yourself from it. Simply notice the sensation or sensations. The felt sense may rise, lessen, move to another location, or dissipate. Simply observe and allow the emotion to process.4. Acknowledge that the emotion is simply a passing sensation. It does not define you as a person. It simply is what it is - a felt sense in your body. Voice an affirmation such as “This too shall pass” and continue being present and noticing without judgement or expectations.5. As you're observing without judgement or expectations, you can say in mind or out loud as a matter of fact way, "I choose to release this emotion and I choose to do so now”. An alternative affirmation could be, “I choose let go of this feeling now”.6. Repeat the process as necessary until you feel a sense of peace and emotional release. ---Book by Dr. David Hawkins with the complete method:"Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender": Amazon link; https://www.amazon.com/Letting-Go-David-R-Hawkins-ebook/dp/B00EY818TQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1B5R7HZMMLM3&keywords=letting+go+david+r+hawkins&qid=1679333687&sprefix=letting+go%2Caps%2C130&sr=8-1Barnes and Noble link: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/letting-go-david-hawkins-md-ph-d/1118031238?ean=9781401945015---Host:Stephen Carter. Emily & Meg discuss those feelings that comes up for every single human being: righteousness and revenge. They explore how revenge is a powerful internal force we must seek to understand. They offer ways they practice deeper self-inquiry to find out what stories are really underneath these intense feelings. They decide setting better goals - like inner peace instead of vindictiveness - can alleviate the need to prove to others we are right and they are wrong. “How am I making this story bigger than it needs to be? How am I getting locked into proving I am right and the other person is wrong?” “I let go because I want to be at peace.” “Sometimes we get so bound by the ‘liner perspective' of one possibility that we are not open to creative input or the infinite number of possibilities that exist so we torture ourselves staying in this one narrative.” “Inner peace is the only issue you need to concern yourself with - not faking this ulterior motive of forgiveness.” “Be careful that you are picking your course of action from a place of inner knowing, not being triggered into responding, which corrupts your decision.” “Underneath the reacting, is a frantic feeling of powerless.” “What is my pay-off in this story? Am I getting attention, pity, a story to entertain people, etc.?” “The answer and the problem are always so simple.” Original Art by Meg Miller References from the episode: #byronkatie For further exploration, we loved this book: Letting Go - The Pathway to Surrender by David Hawkins #wearejustmonkeys #vulnerability #gratitude #freedom #revenge #reactive #empowered #sweetrevenge #surrender #youareworthy #surrender #podcastersofinstagram #podcastinglife #applepodcasts #spotifypodcasts #personalgrowth #selfdevelopment #selfhelp #positivevibes #infinitepossibilities #mindsetpodcast #personaldevelopmentpodcast #podcastaddict #femalepodcasters #spiritualwarrior #useyourgifts #youaremorethanyouthink #thinkingofyou #trust #spreadinglove #motivationeveryday #startyourevolutionbaby

What the heck is vibration? Today on Solocast, I'm going to answer that question in depth and so much more. As I talk about the true essence behind frequency. We all know about the levels of consciousness that we've heard about with the lower self-being 20 resonating shame or 1,000 for consciousness when you look at David Hawkins's work. But beyond Hawkins's work in the levels of consciousness, what does it mean when your nervous system, your mind, and really the essence of your soul get a good gut feeling or a bad guy feeling about a person, place, or thing? By the end of the Solocast, my promise to you is that you'll have a true understanding of Hawkins's levels of consciousness, how this relates to your own personal life, and most importantly what you can do with this concept of vibration to bring you more fulfillment in the five aspects of your wellness pentagon. If you're joining us for the first time, this may or may not be the best place for you to start you can check out our full guest interviews every Tuesday and on Thursdays, we do this Solocast, which is like the mental musings where I get to pontificate and project all the things that I am fascinated about when it comes to wellness. So if you're a wellness dork or if you're an enthusiast like me, every single episode on Thursday is going to be really really good because it's just me going forward with notes and kind of off-the-cuff, really authentic, sometimes vulnerable. I've cried in a few Solocasts, which is a good thing, especially for men. [01:50] Emotional Frequency Scale So you heard that right? Everybody has a vibe that impacts us. What does frequency actually mean? Are you aware that in the world the globe vibrates at a hertz frequency that's either subtle, imperceptible, or corresponds to an individual vibration? Sometimes unnoticeable. You read that correctly. Everybody has a basal metabolic rate (BMR) and the rest but when life events occurred, and emotions are involved this vibrational rate changes dramatically and quickly. So, just like a child, which is the best way to learn; approach things with a heart and mind of a child, and as an adult with your own life experience, the big question for me is when it comes to frequency or emotional frequency: What is the missing link between heart rate variability, resting metabolic rate, otherwise known as RMR, and vibration to create vibrant health? Essentially, what can we learn about heart rate variability, resting metabolic rate, and the emotional frequency scale, or vibration in order for us to connect the dots and create better health from how our emotions dictate, and vice versa, our physiology? The snake eating its tail... Due to its potential to really make you a better version of yourself, it's crucial to comprehend the emotional frequency chart. Let's talk about this, I'm going to reference this at JoshTrent.com/504. There is a map here from nondualitylife.com to give them credit, it is a wonderful map. At the bottom of it is shame, at the top, it is full consciousness. What does that really mean? It means that every emotion has a frequency that it vibrates at and that we experience. In other words, a level of consciousness. I believe that Hawkins measured this in consciousness but you and I can also measure this in hertz. Hertz is something that tracks how many times something moves in one second. We've all heard about the Schumann resonance, or 432 frequency, or 556. There are many different frequencies that are used for Binaural Beats and Isochronic technology for giving people relaxation and the nervous system through sound. But how does understanding the emotional frequency chart help you become a better you? In today's society, people really aren't taught important life skills. Definitely not in school, and sometimes not at home, except for in our homes because you and I are very conscious so we do teach emotional frequency. And I'm going to unpack the layers of this today but a bigger question rises here as we pause. [04:40] David Hawkins + Expression Of Our True Nature Now that you know the frequency chart from Hawkins and you understand that this level of consciousness can go all the way down to 20 Hz or 20 vibrations per second to 1000 vibrations per second for, a consciousness. What do all the stages between 20 and 1,000 truly mean? The victim abuse or consciousness from 20 Hz all the way to 200 the self-empowerment from 250 all the way to 400. And of course, the self-realization from 440 all the way to 1,000 is what allows people to go from hell to purgatory in between paradise and heaven. This is the conceptual framework that was developed by David Hawkins MD Ph.D. after a ton of research over 40 years of research. It looks at various mental states and psychological states as they connect to, and corresponds to the different levels of consciousness from 20 to 1,000. The approach is not very new anymore but it was new when it first came out. It is very much in line with the current wisdom traditions where higher levels of consciousness are used to correspondingly connect to greater psychological integration, and really just harmony with life. This conceptual approach delineates how one moves from the lower self or the smaller self. The lower one takes more scarcity-based states of consciousness to a higher self, or what Hawkins calls the absolute high. And through this journey, various conditionings, some scars along with different impurities, start to melt away. In the process really dismantles and purifies human beings allowing for a greater expression of our true nature, the level of the human. The model is an expression of the relative, so it is not to be taken as the expression of absolute truth, because we fluctuate through this level of consciousness, all day long. There are certain people, though that have certain characteristics of always being negative, always vibrating down at the victim consciousness, and we feel tired because I know you can relate to this when we are in their presence. [06:57] Resting Metabolic Rate We know that the resting metabolic rate is a number that dictates how many calories a human being will consume completely at rest with no fidgeting, no exercise, just if you were to sit on the couch for the entire day, sleep, eat food, drink water, and literally not lift a finger for an entire 24 hour period. That would be your resting metabolic rate. So what is it that dictates are resting metabolic rate? Well, science would say it's your height, weight, age, gender, ethnicity, diet, activity level, and muscle... But I also believe that the thermic effect of food and a concept called the non-exercise movement or non-exercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT), which is fascinating. This is knowledge from my old personal training days… So to calculate RMR, you would essentially put your factors into a calculator and you get a caloric number somewhere around 2000 cal or so depending on your physiology. So the answer to this, and this is what I'm going to prove to you today on this podcast... if somebody eats a perfect caloric diet and they are exercising well and they're doing the mouth of calories in calories out with their RMR then why is it that people still don't lose weight or gain muscle? What I'm going to hypothesize today is that you trust the connection between emotional frequency, HRV, RMR, and how every single one of them affects one another. [08:33] Heart Rate Variability Let's go into an HRV. Now that we've talked about RMR, HRV is heart rate variability. It is the amount of time in between the beats of your heart and sciences show that a greater score of HRV can be in prime indicator of how long you live, how healthy you'll be, and even four diseases and afflictions like CHD, diabetes, and so many more. So now that you know what HRV is what increases your HRV score? In other words, what gives you a more diverse score around HRV? With HRV being the measure of variations in between each heartbeat measured in time, this variation is controlled by a very ancient part of the nervous system, called the autonomic nervous system, otherwise known as the ANS. We've talked about the autonomic nervous system very in-depth in our BREATHE: Breath & Wellness program, which you can be a part of. This conversation is geared towards that because I believe it is the breath that can set you free, and it is the breath that can increase your HRV, support your RMR, and be the fuel for your emotional frequency scale. I think they all connect, and I'm going to prove that today. So if the autonomic nervous system is housed in two compartments, one being sympathetic, one being parasympathetic, otherwise known as relaxation or fight or flight on the other side, then the brain is constantly millions and millions and millions of times per day processing information in a part of your brain called the hypothalamus. Here are the keys of vibrational habits which I'm in a moment going to tie to emotional frequency and the Hawkins scale. Here are the low-frequency habits that are coming from scarcity, coming from potentially just hedonism or apathy that drive a very low HRV score. The first is poor sleep, followed by alcohol, then smoking cigarettes, low physical activity, stress management, excessive caffeine, very poor posture, and of course, eating a diet that is not organic, and also genetics. There are some people that have a positive or negative impact via HRV and we know the HRV tends to naturally go down as we get older, but it doesn't have to it absolutely does not have to. As I mention chronic health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, anxiety, depression, and pulmonary disease, all of these things even medication's that people are taking or if you live in hot climates. I live in Austin and I would guess that most people's HRV score is lower because it's a super hot climate and makes you think about where you wanna live, right? [11:05] Low Frequency: Hypervigilance + Unprocessed Trauma So now that we've unpacked HRV and RMR, and we've given you the beginning of the frequency scale, let me pull this all together, my friend. You're really going to enjoy this. Bare with me, we're about to go deep because we store unfavorable feelings very deep. We follow instructions and perform as intended until the program is terminated, and a new one is installed, but by the time we reach adulthood, we have so many unresolved issues that the majority of our reactions are inherently negative. These reactions are then in charge of unfortunate circumstances. That simply serves to confirm what we "already knew" from the past and distracts us in a vicious loop of emotional incidents, most of which are based on long-forgotten recollections from the past. So essentially the frequency of experiences, the frequency of emotions that are unfavorable from the past are literally driving the current moment because the body doesn't know any different, the body is a minor connected to all of this and this is what leads to hypervigilance. You can learn more about hypervigilance by going over to JoshTrent.com/490 where I go in-depth about the subconscious strategy for survival and what I believe mental illness is a symptom of in regards to hypervigilance and so much more than that. So these feelings of being a victim, combined with the assessment of others, evaluating oneself in relation to others, or comparing yourself to other people, is really a nervous system's tool for analyzing vibration. In other words, we project onto others what we feel about ourselves. So if I feel hypervigilant or non-trusting I'm going to unconsciously project that onto the person in front of me or the situation in front of me, and then that affects clearly my HRV and absolutely my resting metabolic rate because I'm going to need more calories, I'm not going to sleep as well, and I'm going to be shifted over to my sympathetic more throughout the day, which is the opposite of what the nature intended. But it's only when we embark on a journey of searching for the way of loving techniques and information and tools that we can begin, letting go of the lower frequency of these lower emotional reactions. This is a path that involves our whole lives and has a direct connection to love and complementing ourselves every time we manage to overcome these, potentially stressful situations, but really, they're not because we are choosing based on our past conditioning to make them three for 10 times more stressful than they actually are. So let's bring it home. Here the emotional frequency chart and Hawkins's work show the hertz frequency rate of this vibrational analysis all the way from low emotions to high. As the rate of vibration goes lower the extent of consciousness as well, and this is very key, the ability to deal with situations or things in a positive way is drastically reduced, which limits our discernment to respond or be responsible, which I've talked about many times on this podcast there is a difference between responsibility and being response-able. So when we find ourselves stuck in the spiderweb of the frequencies, like grief and shame and lying and deceit, it might seem so difficult and almost impossible to overcome things. But look, in this world, we are very fortunate to be here with each other right now. You are part of the solution, the fact that you were even listening to the Solocast means you are already on the way, my friend. You are already on the way and you are going through it because the only way out is through. Your resolve and your intelligence that was up leveled today now that you understand the connection between HRV and RMR, the academic science terms, and the actual emotional signature and quotient of the frequency scale. Combine these two things, and understand that you are a soul having a human experience inside of a body, and the more you can dive in and understand the emotional frequency chart the less you can put down your Oura Ring, put down your Woop, put down all the things that track your HRV and track your sleep and track your stuff. Because you and I both know those are external mirrors of mindfulness and all they're already doing is reminding you about the way that you already feel. It is only when we look within without judgment, with compassion for ourselves, that we can let go of the negative emotional attachments that keep us bathing in scarcity. And bathing at the bottom of the victimhood in those lower emotions of 200 all the way down to 20. [16:40] What Is Your Emotional Frequency? So here is the action plan. First, take an emotional inventory I talked about that at JoshTrent.com/490. Take the emotional inventory to identify what beliefs you have or what emotions you're experiencing and then write your number down after each one and see where you fall. Are you in the category of victim, abuse, or consciousness? Are you in the category of self-empowerment? Are you in the category of self-realization the majority of the time? If you are, write to admin@wellnessforce.com and let me know. We'd love to interview you on this podcast so we can all learn from you. But for the rest of us, where we bounce around from 20 to 202, 50 to 440, with the occasional 440 all the way up to 1,000. What we all need is a deep breath, space and compassion, and love for ourselves so we can stop making science our God and start making the creator our God. Because the creator is all that ever has been what is here now and always shopping. Whether you're spiritual, scientific, religious, or atheist. It doesn't matter because the energy that brought you here is the energy that guides and loves all things. And so it is with that awareness that I leave you with a challenge. Listen to JoshTrent.com/490, and go and sign up for the Breathe program at breathwork.io. Use the code "PODCAST25" for 25% off and take yourself through three weeks of true emotional inventory, through breathwork, and unpack a lot of this victim abuse or consciousness from 200 down to 20. And then write to me at admin@wellnessforce.com. Know how you're feeling let me know the impact of this solo cast and let me know how much you love yourself and how much you love others with this new state of consciousness and this new awareness. I trust that was helpful. I know it was if you're still with me because there's a part of your soul that's absorbing this and taking this to heart. This is Food for your soul, nourishment for your heart, and an action plan for your mind. And until I see you again and I'm wishing you love and wellness. Unfortunately, virtually all turkey in the USA is conventionally raised with a small portion being "free range" – a virtually meaningless term that simply means the turkeys were allowed access to the outdoors. However, most "free range" turkeys only have access to an outdoor dirt field with no pasture in sight. Their truly pasture-raised turkeys are given full access to outdoor, pesticide-free pasture with plenty of grass and insects for them to nibble on. Emily & Meg discuss their resistance to their feelings of letting go. They talk about how the mind wants to repress, suppress, deny, or make stories up about why certain feelings are there and how they are working on letting go. “The emotions that we all feel can be calibrated numerically on a vibrational scale - the highest one isn't love, it's peace. The lowest one isn't fear, it's shame.” “When you do deep healing, a lot of times you can't find the stories again, but let it go. Don't even fucking try to remember the stories.” “What is the payoff from this story? Is that payoff/vanity keeping me in the story?” “In a ‘desire/craving' state, we are operating in a lack state, not a relaxed and trusting state.” “Surrender is simply- it is ok if it happens and it is ok if it doesn't.” “You can't stop others from hurting by hurting yourself for them. Sometimes you may feel that life is hopeless. This is because you were making difficult decisions and choosing tough choices. It's challenging when you go through those hard things and just breathe and be present with them. What will make you happy? Chasing all your dreams and putting yourself in misery because all you are pursuing is success and money, thinking it will make you happy? Well, it might make you happy, but you might end up miserable if you're trading your life to get it. So I hope you are leaning toward an abundance of love, peace, prosperity, and well-being. If you are going through hard times, I urge you not to resist. Instead, try to remain very present at that time and find your inner peace. I encourage you today to listen to today's episode. My focus is on you. I care about your life. I care about your well-being. I want to see you succeed. “But how can you get to the point where you are? You let go of all that stuff, and then you become fun. And you say, you know, it's okay.” - Keith Kalfas Why do you have to listen to today's episode. 1:35 - “I want to say that you're not alone. There's an inner candle flame that never flickers. And that is your hope.” You are not alone. Everything might not turn out okay, but you are your strength. Love yourself again. Appreciate life and everything that surrounds you. 6:04 - “You don't need to go through any more dramatic or traumatic experiences; you've already been through all that shit. And now is the time for you to finally just walk into your destiny.” Let go and accept what you have learned on this journey. Upgrade your identity based on what you discovered. Be present with the life that you have. 10:54 - “There's a part of the consciousness when you dream, the superconscious, and the subconscious. When you feel safe, your nervous system relaxes and goes into a place where the sympathetic nervous system relaxes. See that your muscles will unconsciously tense up, and you have to consciously relax them habitually.” Set a time to relax and let go of your fear. Scientifically, your consciousness rests and moves back into a sine wave. Your consciousness will be perfectly balanced in harmony. Thus it will be easier to think more straightly. 18:51 - “Your imagination is the highest level of intelligence. Einstein even said you have implementation. Then you have unification which is managing other people's higher state of consciousness to do leveraged physical work for tons of people, then you have the highest, which is communication. There is only one level that can surpass all others: imagination. As you relax and allow yourself to enter a flow state, you will be able to see and experience beautiful ideas and enthusiasm. However, although the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve, you must believe it. Key Takeaways “You're not alone. There's an inner candle flame that never flickers. And that is your hope, and that everything's gonna be okay. It's funny how Jordan Peterson's once said, and he goes, No, everything's not gonna be okay. Right? But I was gonna say that, have a love affair with yourself. That sounds weird, right? I'm saying, fall in love with yourself again and have the mindset of a beginner.” “Just start applying what you've learned and what you know in your heart to be true. And upgrade your identity. And upgrading your identity might just be letting go. And just being present with the life that you have.” “The highest level of all is imagination. That's where you imagine, so if you're stuck all the time in survival mode, you actually can't access the states of consciousness that are in imagination. If you can allow yourself to relax and go into a flow state, It is beautiful ideas and enthusiasm, and you become enthusiastic, which means that God within it flows. And then you get into this flow state.” Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram YouTube LinkedIn Resources/People Mentioned: My Website: Official Site Keith Kalfas My Podcast Page: The UNTRAPPED Podcast Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment Wayne W. More often than not, we find ourselves unstoppably scrolling through our phones because, at some point, we're already exhausted enough to our deepest points. No energy left to move. Lost ourselves against all negative emotions. As a result, we think we cannot change our world. But the truth is we are. We can change the world by living by our purpose. This episode is all about the importance of spending 80% of your time doing your life's passion. So join me as we let all unrewarding habits go and shift into those that lead us to our life's greatest point. “Depending on what perspective or lens you look at it through, you can be the victim or the victor.” – Keith Kalfas Why do you have to listen to today's episode. 00:44 – Choose to do things you love and break everything down into smaller tasks. This helps lessen the exhaustion. 04:03 – Surround yourself with your “fab five.” Sometimes, learning comes from other people's experiences, so learn from it. 06:55 – You're capable of changing the world. Look at things from a spiritual perspective. Don't waste willpower on unrewarding things. 11:15 – Always choose to become the victor and not the victim. You'd want to live 80% of your time doing your life's purpose. 14:03 – To reach greater heights, you should cut out all negativity in your life. You shouldn't have a foundation built from lies. Key Takeaways “When you do something– things that you love, they inspire you, and they give you the energy that comes from a source and a place a never-ending. Its constant abundance. It gives you the energy to do it. It doesn't feel like work. But when you do things that you feel like you have to do or that is a chore, they drain your willpower, and they suck you dry.” “It's very important to have people around you – your fab five – that can give you perspective.” “You're supposed to live your life's deepest calling and change the world. You're supposed to build the multimillion-dollar business that gets to a point where it's residual, where you can go give back and save the Earth.” “The thing that gives you the reason to become a very structured person with high levels of aspirations – a high demand on yourself in high success – is that you know your life's mission, mandate, and purpose, and you're not confused on it. When you know what your life's purpose is, you get very much clear about everything else.” Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram YouTube LinkedIn Website Resources/People Mentioned: My Website: Official Site Keith Kalfas My Blog: The Blog of Keith Kalfas My Resources: Resources (keithkalfas.com) Eben Pagan's Wake Up Productive: Wake Up Productive by Eben Pagan Dr. David R. In this episode we'll talk about how "Letting Go" Is the secret to manifesting what it is that you desire. #surrender #lettinggo #thesecret “Man Made 'God' in his own image. The eternal, the infinite, the unnameable was reduced to a mental idol that you had to believe in and worship as 'my god' or 'our god'.” ― Eckhart Tolle “Desire, especially strong desire (e.g., cravingness), frequently blocks our getting what we want.” ― David R. Hawkins, Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender “In surrender, you no longer need ego defenses and false masks. You become very simple, very real. “That's dangerous,” says the ego. “You'll get hurt. You'll become vulnerable.” What the ego doesn't know, of course, is that only through the letting go of resistance, through becoming “vulnerable,” can you discover your true and essential invulnerability.” ― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment “The person who suffers from inner poverty is relentlessly driven to accumulate on the material level.” ― David R. Hawkins, Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender “You attract and manifest whatever corresponds to your inner state.” ― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment “The world can only see us as we see ourselves.” ― David R. Part of my life's mission is to help raise the frequency of the planet by expanding my own consciousness & raising my own vibration and then sharing what I've learned on my personal journey. My wife was a bit frustrated because an event occurred outside of her control; although I had no intention of being mean, I initially felt nothing. But, while she told me stories of her hardship, I started to have these epiphanies. It was too powerful not to share it with you since you might also be experiencing the same thing. Time Management. Time management is important; if we don't manage our time correctly, we may consume all our energy on non-important things. Time Management will keep us productive, then by surrounding ourselves with positive people and energy, their vibrations bounce back to our own, ensuring that we live our lives on purpose. This week's show will be about living in the lenses of success, spending more time in our mandate, and not getting utterly exhausted with tasks that feel like chores. “Depending on what perspective or lens you look at it through, you can be the victim or the victor.” – Keith Kalfas Why do you have to listen to today's episode 04:26 - Doing something we are passionate about is different from working on something we feel is a chore. Typically, we spend 30-50% of our time working and scrolling mindlessly on our phones. 07:45 - Other people's situations can give you epiphanies as you watch how their events play out. It's vital to surround yourself with people who can provide you with perspective. 10:37 - As a human being, you are meant to live your deepest calling and passion. Discover your purpose, set healthy boundaries, and stay focused on it. 14:30 - Live life through the lens of victory. By doing so, you'll be able to spend 80% of your time on your passion. 17:17 - Clear your head of negativity, and people will not control you. Feel the energy of your higher purpose. Key Takeaways “When you do something – things that you love, they inspire you and give you energy that comes from a source and from a place that is never-ending. It's constant abundance. It gives you energy to do it. It doesn't feel like work. Welcome back to the Full Circle Podcast, where each episode of Season 2 explores the theme of transformation. Perfectionism is often viewed as a positive trait – but for those who identify as ‘perfectionists' - it is far from a positive experience; high levels of stress, fear of failure and unrealistic expectations are just some of the signs of perfectionism, and if left unchecked, these traits can consume the life of the perfectionist. My guest today is Natalie Orr, a Life Coach and professional dancer based in Madrid. Natalie has spoken openly about life as a self-confessed perfectionist, how she's overcome some of her behaviours, and how she's living a far more calm and balanced life as a result. In our conversation, she shares what this journey looked like for her and the advice she has for listeners who would like to put perfectionist tendencies behind them, too. Show Notes: Natalie describes what perfectionism is and how it manifests in her life. [3:11] The time Natalie's perfectionism was at its worst is reflected on. [6:21] Impacts of ballet and dance on perfection are discussed. [10:50] Natalie discusses her journey to healing. [17:49] Bumps along Natalie's healing journey are touched on. [24:27] The key learning's of Natalie's journey are detailed. [28:24] Advice for other perfectionists is given. [31:13] The resources Natalie used to overcome perfectionism are explained, including the book, “Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender” by David R. Hawkins. [33:30] Natalie shares where people can contact and engage with her. [35:55] Quotes:‘The line that you cross into perfectionism - it's when you start to not be able to tolerate mistakes.” [4:17-4:23]“You're like: let me just be as perfect as possible to protect myself, to feel safe from other people's judgements.” [9:13 - 9:24]“Can I give myself permission to enjoy the process more? And then the question becomes: 'when I'm aligning with the process and not the goals, what does that look like?'” [20:06-20:19]“Accepting that you're not perfect but you're enough…well, I have everything that I need.” [22:36-22:42]“I'm allowed to not be perfect in my relationship.” [28:58-29:00]
It's that time of month again. I'm digging into our community questions from our Facebook group and connecting you to my toolbox of hacks, products, and leaders who have supported me on my journey. If you've ever had questions about curing mental and physical pain, alleviating chronic illness holistically, ice baths, health drinks, and effective EMF devices, you'll want to tune into this one. 02:00 – Johanna asks: I am 8 months postpartum and breastfeeding. l have chronic right shoulder pain up into the back of neck and shoulders. I've been to see the chiropractor but it doesn't help. Any ideas or recommendations? Kratom from Super Speciosa TB-500 & BPC-157 peptides that you can inject Local red light therapy using the Flexbeam. It's portable, and can easily be wrapped around most body parts PEMF therapy using a Pulse Centers machine. Most cities have practitioners if you don't want to invest in one Cold laser therapy using Epoch Lasers. Pricey, but you might find a practitioner to treat you in your area. Transformational Healing Center in LA for one Neufit works by sending electrical impulses through the skin to nerves in tissue to elicit muscle contractions and sensory impulses. You can locate a provider in your area here Acupuncture is readily available pretty much everywhere Temporary relief with CBD creams and using DMSO on the area prior helps you get a much deeper penetration, and thus better pain relief 11:00 – Ryan asks: I've always loved having a variety of drinks and, for years now, I mostly just make my own mixes with quality water or SodaStream. Does anyone have any favorite DIY drink combos? My go to is Hydroshot. It's a hydrogen water with green tea extract and L-Citrulline. Incredible for mental clarity, workout prep, and recovery, and also just general blood flow For an electrolyte boost, LMNT is the best. Hydrating and great for food cravings, and curbing late night snacking Olipop for anyone with a sweet tooth. They use natural flavors, and also reverse osmosis water 14:11 – Kathryn asks: What's everyone's favorite probiotic? I'm pregnant and looking for the best. Just Thrive, due to its spore-based formula Alternate your probiotics Take a stool sample to see what your body is lacking, needing to expel (parasites, etc.) Seed is pushing the envelope with a great product Probiomax butyrate suppositories from MitoZen I like to mix things up with Klaire Labs Ther-biotic Complete Drinking high-quality, grass-fed bone broth also heals gut and nourishes baby 21:15 – Rhondi asks: Can anyone recommend a good blue-blocking computer screen protector? Use Iris app instead. It's super-cheap and has timers built in for day and night use 23:25 – Luke asks: Can you re-use your ice bath water multiple days? What can be added to make it last longer? I used to have a Sears chest freezer, set on a timer to keep the water around 35-40 degrees Make sure you're clean and not sweaty before getting in 35% hydrogen peroxide extended water life ever so slightly I used my SimplyO3 ozone generator (ozone purifies water) but this was a logistical hassle I advise changing water every 1-2 weeks The Morozko Forge professional bath with a built-in ozone generator is the ultimate investment and solution 27:15 – Amanda asks: Looking for the best handheld red light therapy device to aid in healing a major open wound on a horse. Flexbeam, as long as you keep your distance on an open wound The handheld cold laser from Power Medic. I used that on my dog, Cookie, after her spay surgery. It works like magic 27:15 – What's the best David Hawkins book or interview? I started off with Power vs. Force. Simple, albeit a bit sterile Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender is pure gold, and a much easier read for someone just getting into his work I: Reality and Subjectivity is much denser and took me two years to read. Powerful stuff I would recommend getting any of his audiobooks on Audible, listening to his lectures, and just digging in 36:44 – Abby asks: Has anyone tried any of these bracelets that are supposed to help mitigate EMF? I just got one from Body Align. Has anyone tested these? FLFE or focused life force energy - I have the service on my phone, which mitigates EMF using a field of quantum energy Defender Shield phone case, and laptop case Blushield portable protector scalar wave generator Leela Quantum Tech ampule necklace, charged with quantum energy Leela Quantum Tech charged T-shirts, caps. You will learn all about the science of Leela Quantum next Tuesday on #373 Lambs EMF-blocking underwear. They have women's bras, panties, and pregnant wraps now too, which is amazing 47:30 – Amanda asks: I am curious if anyone here is a millennial struggling with chronic illness. Have you ever wondered if there was a link between your symptoms and mental, emotional, or a childhood trauma? Healing trauma is the #1 priority, and every person I've encountered suffering from chronic illness has had to heal trauma alongside their physical symptoms Plant medicine has been monumental for my growth Kundalini yoga, a practice I've just gone back to Psychedelic-assisted therapy using MDMA, psilocybin, and ketamine in a clinical setting The Hoffman Process in Napa, and a center called Onsite in Nashville helped me make a start with this work 50:22 – Hannah asks: Does anyone experience skin burning, hot flushes, or itching about half an hour to an hour after microdosing psilocybin? Any insights? Your formula has niacin in it. This helps circulate the medicine though your body and brain, but you can split your dose in two if it's uncomfortable Due to the legality of this substance, it's best to find an in-person community to help you on your journey. Check out local breathwork and meditation groups, and outside of the USA, there are a growing number of plant medicine retreat centers you can reach out to 57:00 – Susie asks: COVID scrambled my brain, and now I'm dealing with depression, and a worsening of my mixed-type ADHD symptoms. I can't take any stimulants because I'm also recovering from adrenal fatigue! My therapist said that there are ADHD coaches. Has anyone ever tried one, and do they have one they'd recommend? I've already thoroughly combed prior posts for ADHD treatments, but besides sun, exercise, neurofeedback, 5-HTP, and St John's wort, does anyone have any other tricks for depression?! Microdosing has been helpful for me, as mentioned in the last question However, the single most powerful thing I have ever done for my brain, mood, and – especially – focus is a training called THINK Interfaces with Dr Lana Morrow. My brain has literally never in my life been this sharp and focused. You can learn all about her and her work on episode #376, which drops October 2, 2021 1:01:54 – Ted asks: Anyone care to share their experience with using modafinil? My wife's doctor recommended she take it to help her MS. Curious to hear people's experience with it. I've used it for years and it's been a life saver. I usually take 25 mg, which is a 1/4 dose of a tablet THINK Interfaces with Dr Lana Morrow might also be able to help More about this episode. Watch it on YouTube. What if you could sell less but make a bigger profit? Sound too good to be true? Russ Ruffino, creator and founder of Clients on Demand, helps experts, coaches, consultants, and thought leaders do this very thing. In this episode of Business Lunch, Russ sits down with host Roland Frasier to talk about how he went from selling products that cost less than $10 to selling programs that cost $10,000 or more. Russ started out in online marketing in 2011. After some affiliate marketing success, he realized the real money was in creating his own stuff. He bought everything he could afford on his bartender salary and started selling products at a really low price. It didn't take long before he decided to flip the model on its head. Instead of selling thousands of copies of something that cost $7, why not sell a handful of something that costs $7k? The Model Is Simple Russ tried a massive experiment. He designed a funnel, found some committed folks to enroll in his program, and they got results. His income went from $20k/month to $200k/month as soon as he got it cranking. They scaled and scaled, and now they're doing around $1.7 million/month. He says his model is simple and elegant. It's what's left when you toss out everything extreme or unnecessary. ad webinar phone call new client They run ads on YouTube and Facebook and drive traffic into a 40-minute webinar. On the webinar, they invite people to book a call. On the call, they book them straight into their high-ticket program. And that's the same model they teach to their clients. Their program is 8 weeks long. On the back of that, they have a 1-year mastermind ($24k). Then they have a higher-level mastermind for $85k/year for people who want to go to multiple 7, 8 figures. The vast majority of their clients are in the health space, relationship space, nutrition space, real estate space, NOT the business building space. They don't want to create their own competitors. Their ideal customer is anyone who can solve a major life or business challenge. They have to have something to teach people and an outcome they can help people achieve. One of their clients is a handstand coach. He teaches how to do a press up to a handstand, which is the holy grail of yoga/fitness people. Russ was skeptical at first, but it's wildly popular and way more than just a handstand. There are a cascade of benefits—no back or shoulder pain for the rest of your life, literally being an inch taller—that make it well worth the high ticket. What About Downselling and Outsourcing? A lot of people believe you have to warm people up by starting with a low-ticket item, then move toward a high-ticket program. What are Russ's thoughts on the value ladder concept? His method works without a warm-up. He's filtering out people who aren't willing to invest and commit, and getting right to the people who are. He might be leaving money on the table by not having a downsell, but he doesn't know what he'd even sell. He could do an information-only program without the support, but that defeats the whole purpose. It's like giving a stick of dynamite to a kid. About 95% of their enrollments come on the first call. They have 30-35 people a day reaching out to his company, and he has 5 people on the phones full-time. They watch the webinar, then book their appointment right after. He says he hasn't had much success with outsourcing sales. It's difficult to find someone completely aligned with their values. They only make an offer to 80% of the people they talk to. They firmly believe in only selling to people it's really going to work for. When you have an outside commissioned sales team, they're not going to abide by that. They just want to sell. They don't work with copycats. They don't work with people whose niche is too narrow or whose market is too hard to reach. And they make a judgment call on the spot about whether or not their offer is viable. They spend about $800k/year trying to break their sales model. They test different things, but nothing ever works better than their consultative, open method. How to Build the Very Best Team When it comes to building a good team, Russ says you have to start with yourself. You want to be a cool person to work for. If you have trouble getting along with people, you've got to fix that. As far as prioritizing what you should delegate, there might be two or three things you love and are absolutely brilliant at, and every moment you're not doing that, you're wasting money. You have to surrender your ego if you want to grow your company. Russ knows it's not his job to change people's lives. It's his job to build a machine that changes people's lives. When he realized that, it set him free from having to be the guy who's hand-holding every client. On his team, he's got Facebook people, copywriting people, mindset and performing people who guide clients through self-sabotage, overwhelm, and fear. HIs team is super hands-on, teaching people how to do everything (like Facebook marketing) and doing it with them. Is Russ afraid he'll train people who will go out and compete against him? Not really. He's upfront from the get go. Whenever he brings people on, he sits down to get a clear sense of whether they have an entrepreneurial bug or are more motivated by security. You want to find people who are brilliant at what they do but don't want the pressure of running their own business. He's also a big believer in reminding his team about the impact they're making in people's lives—and creating space for them to shine. When a client has a win, they celebrate that win, and they celebrate everybody in the company who played a role in that win. What It Looks Like to Be Russ If Russ didn't want to scale, his company could run on its own. Right now he spends 6 hours a week on client support, mostly with people in their highest level mastermind. He spends 3-4 hours a week meeting with his team, making sure the trains are running on time. And the rest of his time is spent scaling the company. He wants to go from $15-20 million a year to 9-figures. How will he get there? It's all about finding additional value adds, like developing software for their clients and ramping up what they do. But he knows the importance of balancing the growth of the company with still being able to provide an amazing service. What resources does Russ recommend for people who want to be like him? The number one book that changed his life was The 4-Hour Workweek. The chapter on fear is the best thing he's ever read. He also highly recommends Principles: Life and Work by Ray Dalio and Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins. That one blew his mind. If you want to find out more, book a call with Russ's team HERE. They'll dig into your business with you, put their heads together with yours, and make a plan moving forward. That one call will massively give you clarity about what you should be doing in your business.
The goal is to let go of the things that hold you back. The goal is to let go and trust in God, trust in yourself or whatever you believe in. Whatever it is there has to be this element eventually of letting go. We all need these reminders to lean in to yourself, show up for yourself and ultimately trust yourself and allow yourself to let go. Jonathan de Potter is the founder and CEO of Behold Retreats, and advocates for self-improvement and elevating consciousness as the most meaningful way to better the world. Jonathan's priority is to raise education and awareness about plant medicines like Ayahuasca and Psilocybin, and guide others to maximize the potential benefits - ultimately leading him to launch Behold Retreats. Questions Could you share with us a little bit about what your company does, Behold Retreats and just a little bit about your journey? How is it that you got to where you are today? What were some of the things that may be catalyst that led you into the path that you're currently on? Plants in our introduction, Ayahuasca and Psilocybin, I'm sure like our listeners, I have no clue what it does and how it impacts your life. So could you just enlighten us on those two? So as you know, this podcast is all about navigating your customers experience. So I would love to tie this into how is it that this particular approach or strategy in terms of integrating plant medicine into your life will allow individuals to improve on their customer experience? Could you maybe share one, two or three things that you've seen? Do you work with corporate entities; do you mostly work with individuals? How does this really tap back into the primary reason of our work show? Maybe could you share with us maybe one or two things that from this type of strategy and approach on an individual level, the person was able to manifest better things in their lives, not just remove barriers, but there were results that were on a higher level, maybe with their business, whether it was a one man shop, or they were a manager in a business, or maybe even enhance the quality of their family, maybe they had better relationships or just to see what are some of the results that an individual can really supremely achieve if they really commit to this process? Could you share with us maybe one or two books that have had the biggest impact on you? It could be a book that you read recently, or a book that you've read a very long time ago, but it still has had a great impact on? Could you share with us maybe one thing that's going on in your life right now, something that you're really excited about - it could be something that you're working on to develop yourself or your people. Where can listeners find you online? Do you have a quote or saying that during times of adversity or challenge you'll tend to revert to this quote? It kind of helps to refocus you or get you back on track if for whatever reason you get derailed. Do you have one of those? Highlights Jonathan's Journey Jonathan shared that it all started for him personally, about 5 years ago, when he was living in Hong Kong. He was working as a Strategy and Management Consultant for Accenture, one of the big, big giant consulting firms, there 5 years in Hong Kong and he was working really long hours, usually about 12 to 16 hours a day and chasing big deals and chasing new clients and he was on a bit of a treadmill, and chasing the next promotion. And after about 5 years of that, he thought to himself, there must be more to life and he was an atheist at the time, and didn't really believe in anything spiritual. And so, he decided to take a year off and as part of that year, he travelled through South America and wound his way to a Ayahuasca retreat with two friends of his in Peru. And fundamentally, that just opened the door to spirituality, taught him so many humbling lessons and over the past 5 years he kind of been learning about plant medicine and preparing for launching Behold Retreats, which is really focused on guiding people towards really high quality, psychedelic or plant medicine experiences, so that they can really get the most out of them and improve the quality of everyday life. What is Ayahuasca and Psilocybin and the Impacts They Have? Me: So I pronounced two mouthful of plants in our introduction, Ayahuasca and Psilocybin, could you share with us, I'm sure like our listeners, I have no clue what I just said and what it does, and how it impacts your life. So could you just enlighten us on those two? Jonathan shared that Ayahuasca is a combination of two plants that are often found in Central and South America and brought together they combine in a powerful Ayahuasca brew that is very highly hallucinogenic. And it can facilitate very powerful healing on the level of the mind, on the level of emotions and on the level of the spirit. And so, what we're looking to achieve through this work is to harmonize the subconscious mind with the conscious mind. And so, what these powerful medicines do, for example, Ayahuasca or Psilocybin, which is the active compound in magic mushrooms, or psilocybe mushrooms. So what these powerful medicines do is they amplify what's happening in our subconscious mind and they give us greater access to what's happening in our subconscious minds. And so, through that we're able to come face to face with some of the skeletons that you may say might be lying around in our closet and to begin to process the associated emotions in the approach associated limiting beliefs and limiting thought patterns that we have hanging out there in our subconscious minds. And as we do so then we can really make significant improvements to ourselves. Approach or Strategy in Terms of Integrating Plant Medicine to Improve Customer Experience Me: So as you know, this podcast is all about navigating your customer's experience. So I would love to tie this into how is it that this particular approach or strategy in terms of integrating plant medicine into your life will allow individuals to improve on their customer experience? Could you maybe share one, two or three things that you've seen? Do you work with corporate entities; do you mostly work with individuals? How does this really tap back into the primary reason of our show? Jonathan shared that there's probably a couple of layers to this that we could explore. So he'll share a few thoughts, and then you can guide the conversation and the direction that you think your audience will find most helpful. He shared that the first is really in relation to our experience, so any customer experience that we might imagine, or design or develop, is a function of our own thinking. And so, these powerful medicines have highly creative potential to them because they really remove constraints from the way that we think, often we've been so programmed, or we've been so conditioned through our parents, through society, culture, etc. to think in a very particular way. And so, when we think about and speak about things like customer experience, then those influences do find their way into the ways that we define design, any set of customer experiences. So he thinks as and when we peel away those layers of programming, then there's an opportunity there to enhance our creativity and be able to see significantly new ways to think about customer and think about design and think about the customer experience. So he thinks that's one. And then the second that he would mention would be, he thinks honestly speaking, it's a little bit early for the B2B aspect of this work, he thinks it's still rapidly gaining in popularity on the level of the individual. And so, they always say about their clients that the soul needs to be calling this is very deep and can be quite challenging work. And so it's important that people individually feel ready to do the work. But there are certainly companies that are taking that next step and leadership teams coming together to try to re envisage their own strategy, their own vision for the company to really kind of set a very bold 10x or 100x vision for what the customer experience might be or what the outcomes that they're looking for, for the organization, and then using the plant medicine as a bit of an accelerator to just to removing the barriers to thinking, changing the paradigm to removing the ego, as often a limiter in terms of what's stopping a leadership team from working most efficiently together to achieve the vision that they're passionate about achieving together. Using this Strategy or Approach to Manifest Better Things Me: So, a few things popped in my mind just know when you were sharing those two points. One was, because I'm sure you have clients already that you've worked with, I'm sure there are some success stories out there. Maybe could you share with us maybe one or two things that from this type of strategy and approach on an individual level, the person was able to manifest better things in their lives, not just remove barriers, but there were results that were on a higher level, maybe with their business, whether it was a one man shop, or they were a manager in a business, or maybe even enhance the quality of their family life, maybe they had better relationships or just to see what are some of the results that an individual can really supremely achieve if they really commit to this process? Jonathan stated that he should probably caveat his answer here by stating that plant medicine is a very powerful tool. So, a powerful tool can help you achieve the thing that you're trying to achieve but in of itself, it's not necessarily the answer, if that makes sense. So, it's the person that builds the house, the hammer just helps us get it done is an analogy that comes to mind. And so, what he might share here, he believes that everything that's possible with plant medicine is otherwise possible say through meditation and through other means. So, he just wants to caveat that, he's not saying this is some sort of a silver bullet in any way, shape, or form, it's a powerful tool. So yes, as Yanique alluded to, step one, he guesses, in relation to this work is often removing those limiting beliefs, kind of letting go of the past. But step two, and kind of much more interesting and exciting than that is, “Okay, great, fantastic. But what are we bringing into our world?” And so, what is possible in relation to this is really up to the individual in terms of what they are? What is in alignment with what they can manifest it into the world? There's is a very interesting paper that he came across about six months ago which is by the American CIA and what the paper describes is that the nature of the universe is a hologram of consciousness or a matrix of consciousness. And so, when we hear about books like The Secret, or when we hear about things like The Law of Attraction, the reason that that stuff works is that the nature of the universe is consciousness and so obviously, we are highly conscious beings. And so there's a relationship between the nature of the universe itself, and this very powerful tool that we have which is our consciousness and our imagination. And so, when you speak about what we're able to manifest, what we're able to attract into our lives, then virtually, he doesn't think that there's any limitation for anyone in terms of what they can manifest and attract into their lives. Now, of course, there's a part of our brain, there's a part of our rational mind that immediately thinks, “Well, hang on. Well, that's not my experience of the world, I've got this 3D existence, and I've got taxes, and I've got people who depend upon me and a job and these other things. And so, I'd love to just be able to manifest whatever I want into my experience.” But it doesn't quite work like that. But actually, it does and so what becomes very exciting is that as we begin to remove these limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns and dot, dot, dot, and I'm not good enough, and all of that, that we really can manifest whatever it is that we want in our life. So whether that means a new job, whether that means improvements of the quality of our health, whether that means great relationships, a loved one, more free time, whatever it is that we'd like to manifest into our experience, if we're very clear on that and we're very determined in the way that we approach that then his genuine, honest opinion is that we can manifest virtually anything into our experience. Books That Have Had the Greatest Impact on Jonathan When asked about books that have had the biggest impact, Jonathan stated that he'll share two books. The first is Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by Dr. David Hawkins. And that's a very simple book but it's such a powerful book and so what he teaches is the various levels of consciousness. So, from the lowest level emotions like shame, guilt, fear, apathy, grief, and then up to the higher level, but still negative emotions like desire, anger, pride, etc, up into the very higher states of consciousness, like peace, love, and joy. And so, he's mapped out these various stages of consciousness and also provides tools for people to, number one, understand where they are in relation to these levels of consciousness. But number two, also to begin to make steps towards letting go which is the key to being able to move to higher levels of consciousness. So, that's number one. And then number two is very much in relation to what they were just talking about, which is manifestation. And it's a wonderful book by Kidest OM, she's a great author. She's got a bunch of books out there and as you might imagine, the book is about how to manifest Anything You Want. What Jonathan is Really Excited About Now! Jonathan shared that the first one that he's excited about is they've just adopted two stray cats. And their existing cat is not particularly happy about that. So there's energetic dynamics in the house, as everything kind of evens out. But more broadly than that, there's two things that they're involved in that he's super excited about. The first is bringing more spiritual knowledge into some of the psychedelic science. So they've got some really impressive science that's happening at Johns Hopkins University, at NYU, at Harvard, Yale, Imperial College in London, some of the leading academic institutions out there. But they're taking a very deterministic and science based approach to this work. And so, some of the spiritual mentors that exists within Behold Retreats are bringing some more of this knowledge into the scientific world, which he thinks is very exciting and will prove its value and its ability to accelerate some of the scientific understanding. So, that's one piece that he's very excited about besides the cats. And then the second is, he's just speaking to a couple of governments in the region, he's based in Thailand. And they're trying to establish the first legal option for plant medicine in the region, because, as you may be aware that this work is illegal in the overwhelming majority of countries, which is why they do a lot of this work in Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Netherlands, and in soon Jamaica. Me: Yes, I'm sure you'll get good support from Jamaica, because we do believe in natural approaches to dealing with our health in Jamaica, that's part of our culture and our history. So, I think once you can provide justification as to how this will help you, if it's going to renew cells, cause rejuvenation, as I was mentioning earlier in the conversation, show results, people will definitely embrace it because it's a way better option than swallowing pills on a daily basis, which can't be helpful for you. Jonathan agreed and shared that what's interesting about this medicine compared to our Western paradigm, in our Western understanding of medicine, is that this medicine really requires a very highly capable practitioner alongside it, it's not that you can just take a couple of mushrooms or take some Ayahuasca and that your life improves, that's really not it, these, these plant medicines, or these psychedelics, in of themselves are not necessarily positive, it's how we use them and who were guided by that makes fundamentally the difference between a very high quality healing or growth experience and just, honestly, just taking some psychedelics, taking some drugs, if that makes sense. Where Can We Find Jonathan Online Instagram – @behold_retreats Website – www.behold-retreats.com Quote or Saying that During Times of Adversity Jonathan Uses When asked about a quote or saying that he tends to revert to, Jonathan stated that he does, a quote he really loves is “A ship is safe in harbour but that's not what ships are for.” He applied to both the context of the individual as well as what a group of individuals may be achieved, trying to achieve together. And so, in relation to that, we are all here individually to evolve ourselves and so it's very easy to stay at home and watch Netflix on a Friday night, but there's much more interesting and better things that we might be doing with our time and with our energy. And so, the way that he always interpreted that quote is, yeah, you can stay at home or you can limit yourself or there's many ways to be comfortable in life. But when you put yourself out there as a ship out of harbour then good things happen. And yes, there are challenges but that's what this life is all about. It's about facing those challenges that we may encounter and seeing if we have it within ourselves to meet those challenges and potentially even to overcome those challenges. William's most recent book is "Richer, Wiser, Happier,” where he draws on interviews that he's conducted over twenty-five years with many of the world's greatest investors. He spent time with time with people like Sir John Templeton, Joel Greenblatt, Nick Sleep, Mohnish Pabrai, and Charlie Munger, and distilled for the readers what it is that we can take away from their disciplines, their mindsets, their habits, and day to day activities, that we can apply in other walks of life beyond financial management. What Is Covered: - Why we can regard the world's greatest investors as practical philosophers - The connection between resilient wealth creation and emotional resilience - Why the idea of cloning other investor's practices is still subversive in today's world - Exercise, nutrition, meditation and sleep as the basics for making good decisions Key Learnings and Takeaways: - When you decide to clone someone's fundamental ideas and insights that work, you have to do it in a way that's aligned with your own temperament and skills - In order to create resilient wealth, you don't need the optimal strategy, you need a strategy that's good enough, that's directionally correct - You don't want to wait until you're in the midst of a crisis to adopt habits such as quality nutrition, exercise, meditation and sleep; it's important to adopt these good habits before the crisis. “Self-care is not an indulgence. Self-care is a discipline. It requires tough-mindedness, a deep and personal understanding of your priorities, and a respect for both yourself and the people you choose to spend your life with.” ~ Tami Forman Guest Introduction: Welcome to Exploring the Seasons of Life podcast episode 46. I’m your host Cindy MacMillan and today’s guest is Melissa Wright. Welcome to Exploring the Seasons of Life, a podcast for women with a big heart on a spiritual journey. Each week, join Cindy MacMillan as she interviews coaches, spiritual explorers and celebrants from all walks of life about beginnings, endings and the messy bits in-between. Self-love, well-being, and mindset are at the heart of our conversations because once you change the inside, the outside will begin to change as well. I am delighted to introduce my guest to you. Melissa Wright is a Transformational Coach that helps people with life transitions, stress management and personal development. She helps clients to tap into their own wisdom, essentially guiding them to create their own solutions. By focusing on a way that honors who we are at our core, we create space for us to grow into our authentic self. Melissa holds a degree in psychology and started her coaching business in 2018. Today Melissa offers different packages for individual coaching, creates personal development YouTube videos and runs two Meetup groups. She is also in the process of writing a book on forgiveness, which is expected to be published by March 2021. To contact Melissa, please visit her website at www.yourlifetimecoach.com. Welcome to the podcast, Melissa. Here’s a glimpse of our conversation: 1:53 You know, I feel like right now I'm kind of I'm in the season of summer, it's starting to come. But a while back, I went through fall and winter. And I sat in winter for quite some time. It's amazing how sometimes we can get stuck in a season. And I know being stuck in the winter had a lot to do with the fact that I was having a difficult time getting clarity, like kind of figure out my next steps to spring. 3:21 So the first thing I would say is to take baby steps. 6:53 So if we look at self-care, that's how we take care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. It's the activities we do to keep ourselves healthy and balanced. But if we look at self-love, it's self-acceptance. Meaning that we love ourselves and appreciate what makes us special. 9:38 Because of a lot of times, you know, we want to say yes to everything and help everyone. But then when we keep saying yes, we don't say no, we don't leave that space for us to be able to do what we need to do. We may forego some of our self-care or other things, to be able to do something for someone else. 19:19 Okay, so right now, I feel like I'm more in the summer, and feeling pretty awesome about the things coming into my life. But I would tell my 18-year-old self to be patient with the seasons that come like before this time because when I was in that, I felt like it would last forever. Hawkins breathwork.io M21 Wellness Guide Wellness Force Community Power Quotes From The Show COVID-19 Guidance That Actually Helps "If you look at the data, the individuals that are disproportionately affected and have a more likely severe outcome. They have multiple comorbidities and chronic conditions that can be ameliorated and helped with diet and lifestyle change but this has not been part of the narrative which has been really frustrating. So, of course, the government and organizations have been saying that their approach has been all about health and 'staying safe' yet there's really no proactive, preventative measures being communicated from 'the powers that be.' Guidelines from these organization that explain how to support our health from breathwork to optimizing sleep to losing weight to exercise to stress management - none of those things have been prioritized by pretty much anyone until the World Health Organization finally came out to share the data on this in September 2020 that I've been talking about since March 2020." - Mike Mutzel Why Lockdowns Are Bad For Your Health "On the individual level, I really think that the biggest unintended harm that we're doing to ourselves is social isolation. We know that social isolation's impact on our health is on par with smoking. I see a lot of depression amongst my clients that is reverberating and causing deleterious health outcomes from weight gain to diabetes. We are tribal creatures and lockdowns are not good for your blood sugar and what is paradoxical is that they are making people more susceptible to severe outcomes. This 'treatment' is increasing the probability that when people are exposed, they're going to suffer more severely from the disease that we're trying to prevent them from getting." - Mike Mutzel Enough With The Fear-Mongering "Enough with all of the fear-mongering; we need to empower people because fear-mongering just makes you more controllable and it doesn't empower you to make more intentional decisions about how to improve your health. So, we need to help people shift their attention and realize that they have to start taking care of their health. Start exercising and if you're afraid of being around people - take off your mask and go for a walk. The risk of outdoor exposure transmission is really low. We need to do things to help empower people and wake them up. I feel that the people that are the most scared and the most convinced that they're just going to die from this virus if they ever get exposed to it are the very people that are not meditating or doing any spiritual type of work; they're just believing in what this authoritarian state is telling them to do. The more intentional people can be about their health, the less fear they're going to feel." - Mike Mutzel Links From Today's Show CURED Nutrition 297 Mike Mutzel High Intensity Health Myoxcience Nutrition High Intensity Health Radio Belly Fat Effect High Intensity Health Courses Breath Work as a Stress Reduction Tool w/ Josh Trent The Bearded Nurse & COVID-19 - Media Says You’re Susceptible, Science Says Otherwise The COVID-19 syndemic is not global: context matters Medical Definition of Syndemic Intermittent Fasting: Why Fast Time is More Important Than Length Leave Wellness Force a review on iTunes breathwork.io M21 Wellness Guide Wellness Force Community Mike Mutzel Facebook Instagram Twitter High Intensity Health YouTube About Mike Mutzel Mike Mutzel has an B.S. in Biology from Western Washington University and an M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. Hey y’all! Welcome back to another episode of the podcast! I wanted to post this episode earlier this week, but I didn’t feel like it was complete and Anchor (the podcasting platform I record and upload the podcast on) was down on Wednesday, then with Thanksgiving on Thursday...it’s now Saturday and I finally felt ready to finish the episode. I even recorded new content that I had written down over the past few days...only to edit today’s episode and realize that it was perfect just the way it is! Today’s episode is all about asking ourselves why we desire the things we want and to challenge ourselves to remember who we truly are, which IS our desires! We already have everything we need. We already are who we desire to be when we receive our manifestations. And when we remember who we truly are is when everything we want and more can finally come to us! I hope you enjoy! I reference the book “Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender” by David R. Hawkins. Let’s connect on Instagram! @beckmedina --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beck-medina/message
Hey friends! Today’s episode is all about letting go, and the law of detachment. My quickest manifestions have always come when I have dropped the need to have them and accepted that they weren’t in my physical world yet. This releases resistance and doubt, allowing the Universe to work its magic. I highly recommend the book Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins for a more in-depth understanding of how surrendering and utilizing the “letting go technique” could be the key you need to receiving everything that you desire. What I will be sharing today is a combination of my two decades in the health and wellness field based on my subjective experience and knowledge at this time. 08:06 — Brinn asks: Hi friends! Any tips on staying grounded spiritually during this ridiculous time? I’m a new mom and I find myself worrying about different things that could happen to my daughter as a result of whatever the heck is going on right now (i.e. forced vaccinations, lack of human connection, a masked society, etc) Limit doom porn exposure, especially the news, whether that’s mainstream or alternative. Meditate. I like to use the Joe Dispenza meditation tracks. Avoid blue light at night to keep your neurotransmitters balanced. Focus on gut health for the same reason. Make quality sleep a top priority. Use the ChiliPad or OOLER and track your sleep with the Oura Ring. 22:38 — Samantha asks: Hello smart people. I’ve been diagnosed with long term Lyme and am looking for ways or products to help me detox without ingesting supplements (already doing that). Any suggestions? Thanks! Use energy medicine: The AmpCoil - I talk about this in episodes 98 and 173. If you can’t afford one, find a practitioner or healer in your area. Dr. Rashid Buttar’s clinic in North Carolina Dr. Frank Shallenberger in Reno, Nevada The Rasha in Reno or find a practitioner who uses one 30:46 — Carly asks: Luke referenced eye drops that he used to help his vision when he was having problems with it and I can’t recall what they were. Does anyone know? I’m in need! I was doing some peptide drops from Russia but I found something way better! I fill up an eyedropper with Quinton sea mineral solution. The isotonic version, NOT the hypertonic. This seawater solution is collected from plankton blooms deep in the ocean and purified. It has all the trace elements and minerals essential to all life on earth. Future podcast guest Robert Slovak taught me this trick. He’s a water genius, and we do a deep dive into Quinton minerals. They are also incredible for fertility and many other applications. 38:54 — Erin asks: Does anyone have good info or resources for children with ADD? The most effective natural treatment I’m aware of is neurofeedback. I’ve done a lot of this at Peak Brain Institute in west LA, and you can learn about it on episode 30 with Dr. Andrew Hill. Peak Brain does remote training, and there are other practitioners all over the world. This modality has been a huge part of my brain healing, including a week-long training I did at 40 Years of Zen, Dave Asprey’s clinic. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive way to retrain your brain to manage brainwaves. You teach your brain to behave the way you want it. Great for PTSD, ADD, ADHD, focus, memory, high performance, and more. 43:05 — Penelope asks: I had a B12 shot at the pharmacy yesterday and usually I feel great after. I feel like they gave me the flu shot instead. The receipt says b12 but this feels really crappy. Has anyone else experienced such a thing? I’ve never had an adverse reaction to injectable nutrients. Bodies are sensitive though, not only to physical molecules but also to energy, and the world is insane at the moment. Could be anything. I wouldn’t blame it on the B12. 45:18 — Maggie asks: Does anyone remember the books Luke often mentions about the concept of "surrender?” The #1 book on surrender is “Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender” by Dr. David R. Hawkins. It’s about learning how to fully experience all emotions without fighting them. The other is called “The Surrender Experiment” by Michael Singer. Amazing book! It’s more of a life story about how surrendering to everything and anything led him on an incredibly successful life mission. I also did a solo show from a live gig at Aspen Shakti on episode 115, where I talked in great detail about my 24-year journey into deep surrender. 58:32 — Elisa asks: What is the best at-home colon cleanse? I’ve been a fan of Gravity Colonics for 20+ years. They are the most thorough, gentle, and natural. You can get something called a Colema board online at colema.com. There is also a colonic clinic/retreat spot on the big island called Angel Farms, which I went to 20 years ago to detox drugs. It was incredible! Do that, then just do maintenance at home. 01:05:45 — Stefania asks: Hi! I feel like this group may have the guidance I am looking for. I am deciding on an apartment that has power lines running close behind the bedroom windows and balcony area. Is this dangerous/EMF producing? There are three big power lines close to the windows. Your best bet is to have a building biologist test them. Sometimes they’re really bad, other times not so much. You can test the magnetic field yourself with a tri field meter to get an idea. I have some about 20 feet away from my house and they’re not that bad. Take the EMF Masterclass to learn all the tricks. 01:09:41 — Tana asks: Does anyone have natural remedies for ringing in the ear? I wish! Everyone, please let me know if you hear of anything. The only solution I have found is to 100% ignore it. 01:12:53 — Caleb asks: Has anyone here supplemented with shilajit as a mineral supplement? Seems really interesting and I am curious to try it for my mineral supplementation. I’ve been on shilajit for 10 years or so just about every day PristineHydro makes a great powered version Shilajit Powder with Triphala: Shilajit Powder is composed of 84 Organic Plant-Based Minerals, Fulvic, Humic, and Ulmic acids, blended with Triphala, which is one of the most popular herbal remedies in the health food industry that promotes bowel movement. The reason Triphala is added to Shilajit is quite simple since a very common problem for so many individuals is constipation and bowel irregularity. I bought a few kilos of the tar a few years ago from a private source in Siberia, and it lasted me forever. It is said to be a great source of minerals, and even more so fulvic acid. If you want minerals, get some of the Quinton sea mineral solution I mentioned earlier as well. It’s not about how many minerals you eat, but rather what you assimilate. I prefer plant-based minerals over synthetic, but for magnesium, you can’t beat Magnesium Breakthrough, which has 7 different forms. It’s incredible. 01:17:03 — Bret asks: For those of you not on city water, do you prefer well water or rainwater harvesting? for such reasons as drinking, overall health, bathing (skin, hair), etc? This is a huge topic and could be a whole solo show I would have both types of water tested before considering drinking. Rainwater is full of acids and chemtrails. Well water could have any number of metals or other contaminants. For bathing I would say anything is better than city/tap water, but for drinking, this requires a solid strategy. Listen to the 6 hours I did on water starting on episode 129 with Daniel Vitalis. Download the Ultimate Water Guide at lukestorey.com/129 ...or TEXT thewaterguide TO 44222 01:20:41 —Macy asks: Hey gang! Did we ever get to the bottom of a low EMF air purifier? Did a quick group search but looking for some quick clarity. I live in Denver and due to the fires we currently sit at #5 worst air quality in the WORLD! Also, any advice on maintaining good respiratory health is greatly appreciated. The whole household is feeling super blah. Listen to episode 260 where I discuss air filtration. I’ve been working on the air purifier thing for years. It’s so hard to weed through the BS. I have a couple of Austin Air HEPA filters downstairs for big particles. In the bedroom, I only use the Air Doctor which I love! Easy to clean, has an auto mode, and even a blue light button. It filters mold, bacteria, viruses, and more. As for EMF, as long as it doesn’t have Bluetooth or wifi it’s not an issue. I keep mine across the room, way farther than a magnetic or electric field could ever reach. No matter what it is, never keep anything plugged into power near you, especially while sleeping More about this episode. Watch it on YouTube. JOIN MY NEW ONLINE EMF HOME SAFETY MASTERCLASS! Visit www.lukestorey.com/emfmasterclass to join. Only $149! Are you aware of the dangers of EMF exposure in your home, but have no idea where to start when it comes to finding, and fixing them? Are you concerned about your exposure to the current 3G, 4G, and 5G wireless networks now activated in most major cities? Have you attempted to test the levels yourself using EMF meters you found online and ended up confused and frustrated? EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies) are one of the most toxic elements in our living and work environments. Due to the technical nature of accurately testing for them—and the training required to do so properly—many of us resign ourselves to the fact that we just have to accept them and the consequences they bring in order to use the modern technology we depend on. But you don’t have to. In this seven-part video documentary series, you will follow world-renowned building biologist Brian Hoyer as he tests an entire home, room by room, to determine the source and level of every known type of EMF. By the end of this series, you will not only be thoroughly educated on the various types and sources of EMF commonly found in homes but also of the many mitigation tools and techniques available thanks to the cutting-edge technologies. He was on humira and he keeps having allergic reactions to that family of drugs. Any biohacks you guys know of that specifically help? I know stress triggers it... I was thinking of getting him a Biomat mini or belt... what else? Giving a blanket answer to this question is tough because it ignores everyone's bio-individuality. That said, a good guideline to follow would be, as a first step: give the problem some crutches to lean on. This means giving the inflammatory response a break for a moment so that your gut can soothe itself — at least for long enough to absorb the nutrients you're going to need to begin healing. Eliminating the most obvious food sensitivities like nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat, processed foods, nightshades, etc. Once that's dialed in, go a level up and consider removing high-histamine foods that could be perpetuating the inflammatory cycle. And then, once a little more stable, support detoxification by getting in a light daily sweat, and eating steamed foods that assist the liver, like dandelion, artichoke, beets, cruciferous vegetables, garlic, and gluten-free oats. And all the while, prioritize meditation, sunlight, and lymphatic drainage. A light rebounding session on a Bellicon, or even just doing some jumping jacks on some carpeting can be a big help. To dive deep into all matters colitis, and IBD, someone who'd been a well-kept secret here in LA for several years, but is now out of LA, and entering the online world in a bigger way, is a personal friend of mine, Jordan Kravitz. Jordan was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2015, and after getting handed the pamphlets about all the drugs he'd need from the head of the IBD clinic here at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Jordan laughed at him and told him to keep his drugs. He then went on an absolutely crazy journey to reverse Crohn's Disease, and today enjoys excellent digestive health, thanks to his unique approach to healing inflammatory gut issues of all kinds. Lipofuscin has three constituents: Oestrogen + Iron + PUFAs = LipofuscinIn In other words, the polyunsaturated fats (canola oil, soy oil, corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, fish oil, flax oil etc) we consume in our food (and rub into our skin in the form of moisturisers), the iron we eat from red meat and green vegetables, and the oestrogen our bodies produce naturally combine to form this brown, fatty waste product that clogs up our cells and, as we age, forms liver spots. Where does sunlight fit into this picture? Dr Peat explains that when we’re exposed to UV light, it can cause damage to unsaturated fatty acid molecules in our skin, producing free radicals. Manage your iron intake. This is one of the most important pieces of the age spots puzzle. One way of managing your iron levels is to give blood regularly; there’s evidence that this can even reduce your risk of heart attack and strokes. Donating blood can be especially helpful for men and post-menopausal women, because they do not lose any blood through menstruation. Reduce your intake of PUFAs Increase your intake of vitamin E (a powerful antioxidant) Pay attention to your estrogen levels, for men and women Listen to what Nadine Artemis has to say about the sun Vitamin D app: dminder.ontometrics.com Get Surthrival’s D3+K2 Daylight Concentrate (use code “lifestylist” for 10% off) Quicksilver Scientific also has a great D3+K2 combo Episode 6: The Great Sunshine Swindle with Nadine Artemis 01:55:10 — Mazena asks: Male pattern baldness. Anybody have any tips? I know it could be a lot of things but I'm open to suggestions so I can pinpoint what's going on. I’ve heard this probably 100 times over the years Like most experimental, and extreme diets, they often work for a period of time, then the body falls out of balance. There has never, ever been a 100% vegan human civilization in recorded history, which is why i call it experimental We don't yet know if it's safe. it would take 2-3 generations of 100% vegan people to breed 100% vegan kids, who then breed with 100% vegan people a few times over to see if its viable In my experience, being vegetarian or vegan is a form of fasting, or cleansing which can be amazing in the short term I prefer a balanced diet and to listen to my body and what it wants, since it is its own living organism, with its own innate intelligence If you do decide to phase out of this diet, try starting with bone broth (no additional animals die to make bone broth) or pastured eggs or wild caught, sustainably sourced fish. or even just oysters. To me, any diet that is deficient in critical nutrients and thus requires that you take supplements to fill the gap, is likely not a natural human diet because that would ot require supplements like b vitamins, vitamin a etc. Study the work of Dr. Weston Price for more info on the natural human diet and nutrient deficiencies Check out next tuesday’s episode: Why You Can't Beat Meat: The Ultimate Carnivore Diet Guide W/ Dr. Paul Saladino Episode 245: Wild Fed: How To Become A Modern Day Hunter-Gatherer w/ Daniel Vitalis *Vegan Trigger Warning Episode 94: Why I'm Not a Vegan - Daniel Vitalis All that said, to me, what trumps diet is avoiding non-native EMF and blue light. circadian biology wins over nutrient biology in my book. get into sync with nature, as nature is where creation’s wisdom lies 02:10:00 — Richard asks: Anyone have personal experience with improving eyesight naturally??? The POWER of Surrendering outcomes when your loved one has a sex addiction. Feeling weighed down? Do thoughts of your loved one's addiction consume your thoughts? I relate. Let's explore how to function from a place of peace in this week's episode: The POWER of SURRENDERING. NOTE: Next week I will be doing a Question and Answer episode. I welcome recovery and/ or personal questions regarding my own recovery by contacting me on Instagram, Facebook, or from the contact tab on the betrayaltraumasos.com website. I certainly don’t have all of the answers but can offer what I have learned as well as consult with others who are farther ahead in recovery. I do pledge confidentiality and anonymity. I have definitely tried to control my husband’s addiction. For the first 17.5 years of our marriage, I thought I was being a great wife by almost never withholding sex, and oftentimes offering it more often. Imagine my shock as we sat in a formal disclosure with our therapist to learn that not only had I not controlled his addiction with sex, but I also made it worse. With eyes wide open that I was truly powerless, I was able to make better choices and set better boundaries. Episode 5 titled: You Can’t Fix Sex Addiction With Sex goes into more detail about that issue if you’d like to check that out. The WHY WHY do we try to control? That question carries with it heart-wrenching answers. The why is important and too often we focus on the resulting behaviors without looking deeper. When we don’t look at the why, it is easy to start living in a breeding ground for shame. The why helps us to stay curious and to be gentle with ourselves as we strive to change our shape. Motives for control might include financial repercussions, a desire for connection, the desire to not suffer heartbreaking consequences, to rescue our loved ones and more. I truly thought that I was controlling the outcome of my husband’s addiction, but in all reality, it was not true. I had zero power and in the process of trying to control, I became miserable. SURRENDER Here’s a question for each of us to consider: What would life look like if we could let go of control and really live life again? What hobbies might we take up, what friendships might we cultivate, and what would our homes look like? It’s lovely to dream sometimes. It is possible to live the dream and to find power in surrendering. From the book Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins, he says this, quote “the more you pull on the rope to hitch yourself up to where you want to be, the more frazzled it becomes. Possibly, you might be wondering, “Isn’t there an easier, better way?” Are you willing to let go of the rope?” What’s the solution then? How can we live life more fully? What can we do to no longer live in fear? What can we do to let go of our frayed and frazzled ropes? One tool that can be helpful in recovery is that of surrender. Letting go of the rope looks different for everyone. For me, surrender is more of a process and is a continual effort. I’m learning that when I can identify the roots of fear, I can identify what to work on surrendering the outcome. The Process of Surrender Doesn’t the thought of living in peace sound lovely? *sigh* I agree. To live in peace is a strong desire of mine, but how do we do that? How do we achieve that level of serenity? How do people actually surrender? Oftentimes it’s easy to get lost in the big picture of our situations. In this episode, we'll discuss the song "The Next Right Thing," from Frozen 2 as it relates focusing on the next step instead of the overwhelming big picture.
You are about to tune into what is probably the most meaningful conversation I’ve had on this show. My guest is rock-star shaman Alyson Charlies, who is revolutionizing the way ancient wisdom merges with the world we live in today, uniting both the wisdoms of Earth-Sky for modern times and the worlds of consciousness and media. Alyson also happens to be my best friend, my beloved partner, and my favorite person in the entire world. This episode starts as a pretty traditional interview about Alyson’s journey of suffering to surrender to service and what she’s doing today to bring meditation and sacred ritual to the mainstream — her Shamanic Spirit School Rock-Star REBOOT is an incredible tool for anyone who wants to reboot and upgrade their human experience, by the way, and you can use code ‘lifestylist’ for 10% off. But it takes a turn into a conversation about the nature and origin of our relationship, detailing the experiences that led to our eventual union. This is your opportunity to be a fly on the wall for a no-holds-barred conversation between me and the person I’m in the most beautiful relationship of my life with. So, I’m really opening the kimono today, sharing the most intimate conversation I’ve ever committed to (virtual) tape. We had second thoughts and almost didn’t pull the trigger on this one, but ultimately decided that this is the most honest and authentic way we can share ourselves with the world. Our hope is that this episode provides at least one person with the tools and inspiration they need to improve the relationship they’re in or find a partner they’re aligned with. P.S. You can also join the two of us for another conversation this Friday (April 24, 2020) at 11:30 AM PST, where we will be presenting a live stream with Frequency Mind titled “Love And Shamanic Medicine: Birthing Your Greatest Life From The Void” and leading you all on a guided meditation and shamanic journey. 11:50 — What has happened since Alyson’s first appearance on the show in episode 111 Going from “brother” to “boyfriend” The moment we first connected, the sparks that flew, and how we chose to ignore them Our first “I love you” My experience as a romantic late bloomer Social media life Vs. real life 23:00 — The New Paradigm + Alyson’s path The new paradigm will be life from the heart The two different styles of leadership Modeling the journey to awakening Why I like to show my ass… figuratively speaking Being a teacher doesn’t mean you know any better How the rebel in Alyson has expressed itself in unhealthy ways 32:47 — Do you ever find yourself focusing too much on the things you still have to work on? Celebrating the hard work you’ve put in The best relationship advice that Luke ever received, although he didn’t realize it until many years later Why you should be wary of spiritual bypassing Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins Honoring resistance 47:46 — Working through and speaking about growth with a partner Observing your feelings with a partner No one else can make you feel anything The layers of healing Working through my relationship with dogs Coming together from a healed, whole place 01:06:25 — Thanking all the people who we were previously in a relationship with, all of our teachers Why Alyson took a long break from relationships and how she knew she was ready to explore again Five years of celibacy How Alyson learned how to have a healthy relationship by being alone The work of active listening The tools we apply to keep our hearts open What it was like the moment I broke out of “the friend zone” Our first date on New Year’s Eve at a Kundalini Yoga party What Alyson thought of our first kiss 01:40:10 — Plant medicines + Peyote Alyson’s experience with plant medicines How Peyote was at the center of becoming an official couple The difference between plant medicines and recreational drugs Alyson’s shamanic traditions What Peyote tastes like Trusting my heart and intuition that it was okay to discard my safety net Entering into a relationship with our third eyes touching Is Peyote calling to you? We discuss her awakening and the tools she used to navigate it, focusing on emotional healing modalities. Here are some topics we cover: Christy's health scare that triggered her awakening How she discovered Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) and Emotional Resolution training What it was like to change her belief structure from her childhood. Her website Paul Chek, and the Chek Institute Book reference: Letting Go: The Pathway to Surrender by David R. Hawkins Emotional Resolution, RTT and Letting Go with Christy Bartelt, Episode 25. So you can get right to your favorite part: 6:15 Her health related crisis that was a catalyst for her awakening 9:30 How she set aside religious dogma to find God 11:45 How loving herself opened her up to feel love from God 14:24 From marketing career to mom, only no more performance reviews to validate her self-worth 16:20 How her first RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) session blew her mind 19:20 Emotional Resolution to let go of the emotional triggers 22:45 How you feel your emotions 24:22 Guilt, from two perspectives 28:19 How do we “let go” - talking about the book, Letting Go: A Pathway to Surrender 29:45 Is this type of healing going to be more accessible and normalized, not woo-woo, ever? 32:32 Processing changes inside your own “chrysalis” 34:28 How healing affected her parenting journey 36:07 How healing affected her relationship with her husband 39:39 Did your husband change/evolve/heal also? 43:43 How we teach our kids about their value system, not ours. 46:45 Bringing emotional healing into the school systems, Christy says, “Heal the teachers first.” 48:48 Practical tip for someone on this journey of healing
In today's episode Alex and Mimi chat about a concept that has proven itself time and time again, throughout both their business and personal lives. May you might want to sing along like in the Disney movie Frozen, as we are going to be discussing - Letting Go. Whether it's waiting for a friend to reply to your important message, asking someone out on a date, to sending a business proposal to client or applying to go to University / College. We've all felt the fear of losing out on the one thing we've been dreaming about. Often a thought that we've put so much energy behind can have us attached greatly to the outcome and even more often this leads to disappointment. We see it in depressed people or people who hold low value of themselves, disappointment seems to be everywhere these days. Too much of this is wrapped up in misread expectations and clinging on too hard to your desires. Maybe you lost your partner or your job and you just can't seem to; ‘LET IT ALL GO' “You might fail at this at first and that is Ok, you have to keep getting up and doing it because eventually it will work out” - Alex [9:00] Alex and Mimi share how they've had to overcome this time and time again, from negotiating the sale of Luxy hair to walking away from relationships that were not good for them. Mimi shares her Vipassana story and how she learnt the importance of equanimity: Equanimity - noun calmness and composure, especially in a difficult situation. "she accepted both the good and the bad with equanimity" composure, calmness, calm, level-headedness, self-possession, self-control, even-temperedness, coolness, cool-headedness, presence of mind. “I understand you really want this and it's your desire, but because you want this so badly, it's probably not going to work” - Alex [8:00] Whether it's someone bullying you or you're simply not happy with your job or relationship, or looking to find the perfect place to live, there's so much you can take away from this episode. Here's what we get into: Attachment is most obvious during challenging times The truth can hurt sometimes but it's that pain is your bodies way of showing you to change The importance of meditation and a still mind during times of conflict Conflict can be with yourself not just with others How desperation seeps into your interactions, how to communicate your intentions Sometimes you have to face losing it all to get your dream life Outcome dependency reduces your negotiating powers Letting go isn't an instant strategy, it's a mindset that takes time to become effective Only you can set your real value Letting Go - The Pathway of Surrender by Dr. Hawkins Linchpin - Are You Indispensable? They discuss what growth means to them and how important flexibility and adaptation is for moving forward and not being stagnant. Speaking of Partnership: Personal Stories of the Power and Payoffs of Partnership
Dr. Tammi Baliszewski is a double Ph.D. and has written 2 books; the best selling "Manifesting Prosperity From the Inside Out" and "Manifesting Love From the Inside Out." Tammi thought she manifested the life of her dreams when she got engaged to a high profile celebrity in the early 90's, but after a couple of years of award shows, private jets and her jet setting life, her dream became a nightmare. This put her on a VERY different path. A path of healing, learning to love herself, authentic power and TRUE love. Today Tammi has been married to her divinely sanctified husband, for 12 years and is Holistic Life counselor, artist, sacred art facilitator and the radio host of Journey to Center on Empower Radio. Guiding Principle, Quote or Mantra “Be really whole and all things will come to you.” - Lao Tzu Really take care of yourself. Don’t look to someone else. Don’t look outside of yourself to complete something that’s missing inside of you. When You Tripped Up Tammi wanted to go to a see the movie Bewitched and she was excited, but her husband didn’t want to see it. She was really upset. Tammi decided she was not going to speak to him. She was going to punish him. Her way in past relationships was to be passive aggressive so she leaned on that again. Meanwhile, her husband is not feeling tortured at all. Then she checked in with her inner child she realized she had everything she needed to take care of her inner child herself. So she took her inner child on a date and was as happy as she had ever been. This helped her get out of her pattern of being passive aggressive. The “DUH” moment that changed your partnerships forever Tammi asked God a question: “God, how do I manifest a man who will love, adore and cherish me? ” And the answer she received was: “Love, adore and cherish yourself.” Tammi thought to herself, that sounds so awful. She would do anything but that. But since she was clear that she was done playing games in her life, she decided to commit to her. Tammi was a people pleaser and instead of always saying “yes” to her partner, took time to find out what saying “yes” to herself meant. She knew in the moment she needed to become whole so she could attract another whole human being. Proudest moment in partnership Tammi’s husband was very mad at her for a seemingly minor thing and instead of going into the blame game and doing the tit for tat thing, she stepped back checked in with herself and her inner child. She was able to console her inner child and then show up as an adult. Because she did not get into the blaming game, they got into the truth behind the issue to the root cause of his displeasure. And he thanked her for it. What is the best partnership / relationship advice you have ever received? Be “The One” instead of trying to find “The One.” A mentor of Tammi’s once told her: “In healthy relationships we make God first, ourselves second and our partner third.” Best Partnership Book or Resource (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401945015/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1401945015&linkCode=as2&tag=speakofpartn-20&linkId=3e2f29e3e58cc71007dcdded8a46de74) Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401945015/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1401945015&linkCode=as2&tag=speakofpartn-20&linkId=84b052ef6262952800547fceabefc4c6) (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401945074/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1401945074&linkCode=as2&tag=speakofpartn-20&linkId=923951064ed8c47c324ca77780812ca4) Power vs. Force...
