This week, we're delighted to be joined by John J. Ryan from the unstoppable force that is Keep Flying. If you've seen them live, you know exactly why they're one of the most exciting and unique bands in the punk scene right now—blending high-energy punk rock with saxophones, trombones, and an unrelenting stage presence. We first met the band at last year's Four Chord Music Festival and instantly hit it off,so it was a real treat to catch up with John. We chatted just ahead of the release of their powerful new album Time and Tide, which dropped on April 24. John walks us through the band's journey, their DIY ethic, and what the rest of 2025 looks like for Keep Flying. Spoiler: they're not slowing down. Val awoke in the hospital, recovering from the ordeal with her former coterie. Sheriff Cross explained that Val would have to seek the approval of Princess Cleopatra and she must pretend that she had only recently been embraced, but Val was also warned by another kindred to not lie to the Princess. An uncomfortable meeting ensued, and Val simply stated how she could use her skills to serve the Camarilla. With three nights to find Cross before Amy and Vincent do, Val drove to Calgary and booked a room at the Blue Rose Hotel, unaware of its significance. She awoke to find herself confined, was interrogated by Cross, and learned that Amy and Vincent were the two most dangerous Anarchs in Canada. To avoid Camarilla justice, Val would have to kill them and deny any involvement with them, so she and Cross set out to face them. Val was welcomed into her first coterie. Neither Camarilla nor Sabbat, Vincent and Amy showed Val a world with no rules, and the freedom to hurt humans with no regard to morals or consequences. As Val learned important skills, like using the blood within her to produce the blush of life or surging past normal physical limitations, her humanity consequently receded. What a great opportunity for a ton of fun, the only problem is that it is a 5e system and well, I just don't like 5e so I doubt I will buy this one, but I might pick it up for a dinosaur source book. You can never have too many dinosaurs in your campaign.Next up was Cats! The Conspurracy from Black Book Editions. We love our cats at Oddfish Games. We love them so much we created our own system How to Roleplay with Your Cat. It's a fantastic little game that lets you bring your feline friends into your roleplaying games with you. This game is different. In Cats! The Conspurracy the players take on the role of Awakened Cats working behind the scenes. Imagine Vampire the Masquerade, but with Cats. To top it all off it will have its own game system, so that's a bonus. I love this idea.Then we have Lewd Dungeon Adventures: A Date to The Grand Ball. This is described as an adult TTRPG designed for 2 people in which the player takes on the role of the hero and the GM plays their love interests. It looks as though each scenario is designed to play three different ways based on your mood; Intimate Acts, Drinking, or Party Mode for Groups. This apparent NSFW game won't be popular with everyone, but the idea is interesting and might be fun under certain, very personal, situations. For Black History month, Ronnie chose O. O. Sangyomi's: Masquerade. This novel is the author's debut and is an alternate universe were Yorubaland is a dominant tribe instead of the Oyo. This story follows Òdòdó's, a young blacksmith in a world that treats them as witches, whose home of Timbuktu is conquered by the warrior king of Yorùbáland. Following this, she is abducted, engaged to the Alaafin- the king. Òdòdó's story follows her as she reconciles her past, her future, and the intrigues of court, all while searching for her mother who has gone missing.
