Shoot us a Text.Happy Friday! Today, we're covering how Elon rallied Tesla employees during a surprise all hands meeting last night. Plus, auto auctions have their best year since 2020 and consumers prefer AI-generated responses to reviews over those written by humans.Show Notes with links:Elon Musk held a surprise all-hands meeting at Tesla's Texas Gigafactory on Thursday night, reassuring employees amid a steep drop in stock value. Musk urged employees and investors to "hang on to your stock" while promoting Tesla's Cybercab and Optimus robots.Musk addressed Tesla's stock drop, which has lost roughly half its value since December, attributing future success to autonomous driving and AI.The operations team is tasked with ramping up Cybercab production, which Musk says will use a high-speed, electronics-style manufacturing process.Tesla plans to build thousands of humanoid “Optimus” robots, aiming to produce "at least one legion" this year and scale up further in 2025.Despite recent political controversy surrounding Musk, employees avoided the topic in the Q&A session.Musk admitted he is "stretched pretty thin," saying “I have like 17 jobs, at this point,” managing multiple companies and government advisory roles. The National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) reports that 2024 saw the highest number of vehicles sold at auction since 2020, marking a strong recovery for the wholesale market.NAAA member auctions moved nearly 7.6 million vehicles in 2024, a notable rebound.Of the 12 million vehicles offered, 61.3% were sold—the second-highest conversion rate ever recorded. The average wholesale price fell 5% to $13,921, but volume gains helped drive total sales to $105 billion.NAAA credits auctions as the "backbone of vehicle remarketing," offering vital services for efficient redistribution, offering logistics, reconditioning, and titling services that digital-only platforms struggle to match."Our members reported year-over-year growth despite headwinds," said Larry Dixon, NAAA vice president of auction data solutions.Who should respond to online reviews? AI or actual people? For the second consecutive year, BrightLocal's Local Consumer Review Survey found that consumers prefer AI-generated responses over those written by humans. The study raises questions about how consumers perceive AI in customer interactions. In two separate tests (a restaurant in 2024 and a vet clinic in 2025), 58% of respondents preferred AI-generated responses over human-written ones.89% of consumers are more likely to shop at a business that responds to reviews, while 56% hesitate if a business ignores them. While consumers prefer AI-written responses, 46% also say reviews "feel fake" if they seem AI-generated.Similar studies show AI-generated social media posts, ads, and product descriptions outperfoHosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

In this episode we explore the concepts and manifestations of Chaos, the Primordial Truth. In turn we examine the four malevolent warp entities that plague all of the races in the galaxy, the Gods of Chaos; Slaanesh, Nurgle, Khorne, and Tzeentch. We detail their purviews, powers, and pantheons as well as their capacity to influence the galaxy. We look into the Lost and the Damned, the cults and warbands of formerly loyal servants of the emperor and how they were corrupted and fooled into worshiping the dark gods. Finally turn our attention to the Eye of Terror, the largest incursion of chaos energy in the galaxy where the fabric of reality is torn open and the raw stuff of chaos washes over entire systems of planets.

National and State Ag Aviation Associations. What purpose do they serve to Ag pilots, operators, and the industry as whole? Are they just conventions or do they work to keep our airplanes moving? I had the pleasure to sit down with NAAA President Jim Perrin and NAAREF President Matt Hovdenes to find out what's going on inside our ag aviation associations. Jim Perrin is a long time pilot/operator who has been involved with the NAAA and numerous state associations spanning his career. Matt Hovdenes is a pilot turned operator who was required by his mentor to join their state association at the outset of his career. Since then he has served with many state associations, the NAAA, and NAAREF. We discuss what our state and national associations do that from a distance you'll never notice. A few important actions being being taken I wasn't aware of were, pesticide label registration/registration. The NAAA is commenting on over 70 product labels a year helping make sure that aerial application stay on the label! The prevention of over regulation from state and federal regulators, and many more. I had a new appreciation for our associations and the people that volunteer to serve in them. I would encourage everyone to be member of our national and state associations, but don't just be a member, get involved. If you feel like you're paying for an expensive convention come to a board meeting and see what work is being done for the industry. It will change your perspective and make you feel like your membership dues are an investment in the future of our industry. This was recorded last December at the NAAA convention in Savannah. Thank you Jim and Matt for your time, knowledge, and experience. If you're interested in joining the NAAA head over to agaviation.org. I hope to see you all at the convention in Knoxville! Make sure to check out or podcast sponsor ambericandesigns.com thank you Travis!

In another episode originating from this year's NAAA annual convention, Cherokee Media Group senior editor Joe Overby caught up with Sandy Moon and Danny McNelis of NextGear Capital. They delved into more detail about the auction services group that NextGear Capital launched earlier this year as well as other subjects connected with dealerships and their floorplans.

Welcome to Wednesday as we cover ACV's recent lawsuit filed against major and minor auction houses, a recent story on NPR covering the so-called ‘stealership' phenomenon, as well as retailer Nordstrom's strategy to move product offerings upmarket. ACV has filed an antitrust lawsuit against many physical auctions including giants Manheim, Carvana owned Adessa, and many others whom it claims conspired to deny them access to AutoIMS, an industry standard platform in the auto remarketing industryThe platform is provided by a joint venture of those four companies, Auto Auction Services Corp who is also named in the suitThe suit states, AutoIMS inconsistently enforced its physical auction requirement to “preclude membership to certain digital-only platforms like ACV, which pose an existential competitive threat to NAAA's controlling members.”ACV points to the fact that many other auction houses now offer exclusive digital auction servicesACV also cites the loss of customers such as Hyundai Capital and Santander since they did not have access to AutoIMS and those companies had workflows that depend on themACV is seeking injunctive relief, monetary damages, and legal feesNPR releases a story titled “Inside the rise of 'stealerships' and the shady economics of car buying” which began as the writer, Greg Rolansky's journey to find a new truck to replace his stolen oneThe article gives an efficient overview of the franchise system and covers the pros and cons of the current system with a factual and common sense approachThe benefits of having a local dealer network to serve customers, let them see product, service vehicles, have recalls taken care of, and of course, all those jobsHe also covers the lobbying power that comes along with the economic leverage and questions whether or not stopping OEMs from having a monopoly on pricing is really effective reasoning for a Dealer networkHe then chronicles his truck buying experience and cites ‘stealerships' charging as much as $20k over sticker to those who would charge MSRP, but he'd have to wait up to 6 monthsFinally, he settled on a truck he found 400 miles away for $2k over sticker negotiated down from $5kThis untitled 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser is one of approximately 2,500 Trail Teams Ultimate Edition examples built for the model year, and it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2014.This Rivian RT1 Adventure Edition has 47 miles and is currently at $100kIn retail news, Nordstrom Rack's sales remain steady, is making a move to push more premium products into its stores to cater to the higher economic profile of its consumers according to CEO Erik NordstromSales up 6% in Q2 but started to wane. Naaa, tendierst du auch dazu, dich zu verzetteln? Hehe. I feel you. In the episode of Podclast, cla discuss the political situation that everybody is talking about, how Tony Robbins is a full on douchebag. Cla finds meaning in a miscommunication at a bus stop and how people's park in Limerick is the gift that keeps on giving.
