Njärd borde hennes namn varit i våra trakter. Tacitus kallar henne Nerthus i den enda källan som nämner hennes kult. Nils Markus Karlsson beger sig ut på jakt efter gudinnan i vetandets tassemarker. Åsikter som uttrycks är skribentens egna.Det här ska handla om den för oss nordbor enskilt viktigaste guden genom historien. Och här kunde man ta en paus och låta en lyssnare grubbla i tystnaden, och gissa... Vem talar han om? Är det Oden, gudarnas konung? Eller Tor, dundraren? Eller den där Marias son? Nej, nej, nej.Det finns ämnen som ligger i Kunskapens gränsland – som vetter åt det stora okända. Där finns saker att uträtta för den äregirige. Man kan skumma igenom allt som är känt på en förmiddag. Därpå tar ett vilt sökande vid, och tolkningar, gissningar och öppningar framträder, kanske... Det är eggande. Gudomen som är ämnet för denna essä är känd som Nerthus. Och ja, det är tveksamt att kalla henne den viktigaste genom historien. Det är spekulativt – för att uttrycka sig milt. Men det är ändå en möjlighet. En enda källa skvallrar om henne: Tacitus, romaren som skrev sin Germania år 98 efter Kristus – och som lämnade ovärderliga uppgifter om nordeuropa vid den här tiden. Om vi räknar med ortsnamn blir dock indicierna fler. Bland dessa fåstaviga länkar med rötter djupt ner i en förflutenhet bortom skriftliga källor finns Mjärdevi, Nalavi, Nälsta, Närtuna, Närlunda. Ortsnamnsforskare menar att dessa platser minner om henne. Alltså om Nerthus – eller Njärd som hon bör ha kallats av folket här.Men så, vem var hon?I Germania radar Tacitus upp ett antal nordgermanska stammar som har en sak gemensam: kulten av en jordgudinna vid namn Nerthus. Han skriver: ”På en ö i oceanen finns en obesmittad lund och i denna en helgad vagn, som täckes av ett kläde. Denna vagn har endast prästen tillåtelse att vidröra. Han är den som märker, när gudinnan är tillstädes i sitt allraheligaste, och som med djup vördnad ledsagar henne, när hon kommer åkande, dragen av kor.” Tacitus säger att dit gudinnan kommer infaller fest och högtid. Då får ingen dra ut i krig, inga vapen bäras, allt järn är inlåst. Denna heliga fred råder tills prästen för gudomen tillbaka till dennes ö. Vid resans slut tvättas vagnen, förhängena och gudinnan själv i en enslig och undangömd sjö. Tjänarna som utför denna tvagning uppslukas efteråt av sjön. De dränks alltså – för ingen levande får se henne.Detta är allt som finns i skrift. Magert, men lockande. Frågan som inställer sig hos den obotligt nyfikne är: Vad ska man göra av det här? Kan man komma närmare Njärd? Detta är vad jag försökt en tid.Religioner utvecklas enligt vissa mönster. Om ett nytt inflytande kommer nånstans ifrån så finns alltid spår av det gamla kvar, inunder, i någon form. Så när kristendomen blev religionen runt Medelhavet överlevde sedvänjor och ritualer från en äldre tid och inkorporerades i den nya tron. Helgonen, exempelvis, blev ett sätt att ersätta den mångfald av gudar som tidigare funnits och svarade mot folks invanda ömhet inför en lokal gudom. Så har alla städer ett eget skyddshelgon, liksom vissa helgon är knutna till vissa yrken.Då den nya religionen helt saknade kvinnliga inslag medgavs på 400-talet en Maria-kult som lugnade dem som tidigare haft Afrodite eller Artemis eller Astarte eller Venus eller någon tung jordgudinna i centrum för sina riter och sin världsbild. Helgonen och Maria har knuffat bort gamla gudomar från sina positioner – men själva positionerna finns kvar, eller går att spåra om man bara förstår hur.Även i Norden fanns en utbredd Maria-kult under tidig kristendom. Dess nödvändighet (för att folket skulle acceptera den nya religionen) har antagits bero på den förutvarande djupa Freja-kulten. Någon måste ersätta Freja, och det kunde bara bli Maria.Men förstås: Även Freja hade föregångare... Det är här det börjar brännas.För den som likt undertecknad hyser en gammal lustfylld fascination för de fornnordiska myterna öppnas hela det fältet, det kastas om som efter ett väldigt ragnarök och vad som varit nedfruset i fimbulvinter tinar upp och under de gamla välkända dragen hos Freja och Frej framträder något helt annat. I detaljer och märkligheter syns spår. Jag tror det. Men då är jag ute på djupt vatten.För den som är obekant med asatron kan nämnas förekomsten av flera gudasläkten. De två mest prominenta är asarna och vanerna. Bland asarna finns Oden, Tor och Balder med flera. Intill dem står de likvärdiga men underordnade vanerna. I en tidig fejd släktena emellan tycks vanerna ha dragit det kortaste strået, men inte värre än att de överlever. Vissa flyttar till och med till Asgård. De mest kända är syskonen Frej och Freja samt deras far Njord. Och Njord – ja – låter inte det väldigt mycket som Njärd? Tacitus kallar Njärd, eller Nerthus, för Terra Mater, en jordens moder, och ”Nerthus”, själva namnet, kan kopplas till engelskans ”earth”; liksom ”Njord” ligger nära ”jord”. Så Njärd och Njord tycks intimt sammankopplade. Jag stirrar ner i mörkret och ser virvlar av korrespondenser och antydningar. Hos Snorre kallas Njord för ”vagna-gud” – vilket är svårt att förstå. Men tänk då att Nerthus drogs i en vagn! Och tänk på att enligt ett rykte ska Njord ha fått barnen Frej och Freja med sin syster. Vad kan denna syster ha hetat?Det vet jag inte. Ingen vet. Men det har formulerats gissningar, som pekar åt ett visst håll.För den som skärskådar och närläser de norröna myterna med Njärd i åtanke kan hon anas som ett rudiment. Där finns skärvor av uråldriga ting – från en världsbild och mytologi före det att Oden och hans asar satte sig i högsätet. I början av Völuspa, i den äldre Eddan, finns några mystiska rader om vad som fanns före asarna – och tar man dessa brottsstycken och kombinerar med nyare dna-forskning och äldre arkeologi verkar det som att det i Norden en gång fanns en kultur i vilken jordbruk, fruktbarhet och livets spirande stod i centrum. I denna var vanernas gudasläkte dominerande och mitt i detta fanns Njärd. Och här måste jag stilla mig och tillägga: Måhända! Men vänder man åter till ortsnamnen kan man konstatera att de vanligaste gudanamnen i svenska orter bredvid Tor är Frej och Freja, eller Frö, och fröet sår man i jorden... Idag finns många blommor med namnet Maria i sig. För tusen år sedan hette de andra saker – något med Freja.Jag vet ingenting, och ingenting går heller att veta säkert, men ett vet jag, och det är att när jag anar att inunder Maria finns Freja och inunder henne finns Njärd – den gudinna som Tacitus menar att flera germanska stammar dyrkade – då ryser jag av ett alldeles särskilt välbehag. Det må vara förbjudet att röra gudinnan, att se henne, men min blick förlorar sig ner i och genom det gränssnitt mot mörkret som okunskapen och det förflutna höljt henne i.Och jag känner ett lock för öronen. Reinsurer SCOR has launched a new offshore renewable energy insurance consortium with partner Acrisure Re. The consortium increases SCOR's total deployable capacity to over 180 million dollars. SCOR says. Its technical expertise and understanding of client needs positions it as a leader in providing insurance. To the growing offshore wind industry. So Phil, another insurance company hopping into the offshore market, there seems to be a lot of people putting their toes in the water at this point on offshore. 180 million is not a lot of money in that marketplace, but it does seem like people are testing the waters. Philip Totaro: It's an interesting thing. Certainly good to do with a partner. The challenge with offshore is obviously with the scale, like you're saying, 180 million and deployable. Capital is not going to really make that much of a dent in the overall global market, which is, well over, a trillion dollars in investment even at this point. The reality is that, insurers have seen a lot of losses onshore and offshore. It's good that you're getting, new companies involved. It's, score is increasing the scope of their. What they're able to address. The challenge is that, I think these kind of partnerships. Are going to be necessary moving forward because insurers and in particular reinsurers have had a really rough go of it. With some of the catastrophic losses that they faced, particularly in offshore over the years where, entire projects have had to have, the main shaft bearings replaced on the turbine or. You've had other kind of significant fleet wide issues in, in some cases. Overall, it's a good thing. It's a good deal. But it's a market that's getting tougher and tougher to get into. Joel Saxum: Yeah, the important thing to understand about the insurance market in any industrial capacity, specifically, we're talking about onshore, offshore wind here, is that you don't have an insurance company and that's your insurance. You may have an insurance company, the broker, whatever that runs the thing, but you may have 20, In an offshore win, you could have 20, 30 companies in here. So if SCOR comes in on a project, say there's, right now we talked earlier today about Dogger Bank A. Dogger Bank A is going to have two, two policies there. One for construction, one's when they turn into operations. There's going to be a turn off, turn on date there. That, say, we're going to go to the policy when it is in operation, that policy may be written by, who knows, I don't know, Aeon, that's the broker, but the Aeon will have 20 different, 30 different companies behind them, each one of them taking 2%, 3%, 5 percent of that risk, there may be one lead on there, and that lead on something like an offshore wind project may only be 7. 5 percent or 10 percent or 15 percent as opposed to onshore where it may sometimes be 25, 30, 40 percent because, that asset, that wind farm may be worth 100 million or 200 million where you go to an offshore wind farm, it's worth a billion. Nobody has that kind of capital. So a lot of times the lead is someone who really knows offshore stuff Njord, they put that thing out because, the big pro,

According to Snorri Sturlason's work "Ynglinga Saga", this family line supposedely started with a humanized version of the Vanir god, Njord (and his son, Freyr). The story states that Njord was a king in Uppsala, Sweden. Over the years the family of kings gained and lost land. The House of Ynglinga continued until it came to a man Named "Halvdan the Black". At this point his land controlled parts of Norway. Halvdan's son was supposedly Harold Fairhair, the first king of Norway, who is probably a historical figure. Continuing our series on “Loki - The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems.” Loki has pissed off Skadi, the giant goddess of hunting and skiing, by getting her father Thjazi killed. Loki solves problems the only way he knows how. By tricking her into marrying Njord rather than her preferred groom, the beautiful Baldur, and then Loki tries to make Skadi laugh by tying one half of a cord to his testicles, and the other half to a goat. It gets real weird this week. Shawn and David present their theories that Loki is the god of kink, Njord is a polygamist, Idunn is Thjazi's sister, and that Loki's “sacrifice” to appease the goddess is actually a meaningful lesson and not just a bit. I vikingtida, det er 793 til sirka 1000, trodde de på de norrøne mytene og gudene i de skandinaviske landene. Norrøn mytologi er fortellingene om gudene og hva de gjør. Disse fortellingene var ikke som en «bibel» i norrøn religion. Norrøn religion var ritebasert. Skrifter var ikke viktige i norrøn religion. I norrøn religion var det mye viktigere å ofre til gudene. Vi bør derfor ikke sammenligne betydningen av de norrøne mytene og fortellingene med bibelen i kristendommen eller koranen i islam. La oss se litt nærmere på norrøn mytologi. Verdensbildet i norrøn mytologi er delt i tre. Verdensbilde er hvordan man forstår verden rundt seg. I norrøn mytologi er verdensbildet delt i tre ulike riker: Åsgard, Midgard og Utgard. Ordet «gard» er det nynorske ordet for gård. Åsgard er helt oppepå Yggdrasil, livets tre som står midt i verden. Åsgard er helt oppe og det er her gudene bor. Midgard er rundt Yggdrasil. Det er her mennesker og dyr holder til. Midgard er midt imellom Åsgard og Utgard. Utgard er utenfor Midgard. Utgard er kaldt og mørkt. Her bor det jotner og andre kaoskrefter. I Utgard bor det vesenerog krefter som er farlige for mennesker og guder. I norrøn mytologi finnes det to ulike gudeslekter. Den ene slekta er vanegudene eller bare vaner. De viktigste vanegudene er Njord og barna hans Frøy og Frøya. Njord, Frøy og Frøya er alle fruktbarhetsguder. De er forbundet medgodt jordbruk og seksualitet. Den andre gudeslekta er æser. Den mektigste av æsene er Odin. Odin er den øverste guden i norrøn mytologi. Han er guden for visdom, mystikk og krig. En annen viktig æse er Tor, sønnen til Odin. Tor er guden for lyn og torden, for kampstyrke og for fruktbarhet.
