Recently I sat down with Melbourne Storm halfback Jahrome Hughes for Fox League to talk about his career in the NRL and the prospect of the Storm defending their premiership in 2021.It was such an enthralling chat and we had a lot of people ask to hear more so I asked Fox League and they were more than happy for me to share the whole interview with you guys. Those who don’t know Jahrome's story... his career is another of resilience and perseverance. He bounced around from club to club trying to get a start in first grade, moving all over the country ... from the Gold Coast, to Townsville and then to Melbourne. He debuted at 18 in the NRL but then only played 2 more first grade games in the space of 4 years.Jahrome then joined the Melbourne storm purely on the basis to learn from the likes of Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk, Cameron Smith and Craig Bellamy. He never thought he’d be able to crack into that team but thought he could atleast use his time at the champion club as a learning experience that might springboard him to a gig somewhere else. Now five years later not only did he get a start, he turned himself from an out of favour fullback into a premiership winning halfback through nothing else but sheer will, determination and hard work. He is the very definition of refusing to lose. Enjoy Jahrome Hughes' story!!

This week we discuss the transformation of their business in a North Qld township. How they were able to not only establish their carpet cleaning business in an area dominated by well-established and high-profile cleaning companies but become the dominant carpet cleaning company in less than 5 years. Is this still possible today? Can these type of advertising strategies be implemented the same way they were over 20+ years ago? The answer is YES! Not only can they be implemented, but it will be cheaper, easier, and 10 X more efficient. We are speaking with Gary Bethel. We discuss where the industry has come from and where we feel it is going today. This is our last episode of the year, we would like to thank all our past guests, and our listeners and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We will be back January 29th with Season 02 of the Podcast.

19 down, only 1 to go. As previously mentioned the top 8 are set, however heading into Round 20 there can still be movement with home finals on the line. With their impressive victory over Manly, the Titans have doubled their win total from last year and cemented themselves as QLD's best team in 2020. With 66 reviews sent to the bunker over the weekend they had to slip up somewhere, what's ironic is the call Ricky Stuart spat the dummy about was correct. We are now 3 weeks returned from the COVID-19 lock down and crowds are again on the agenda. The timing couldn't be better with the quality of footy improving each week (overall anyway). Round 5 provided arguably the game of the year so far as Parramatta and Penrith battled out West, while the Sharks and Dragons had a passionate local derby of their own. North QLD's woes continue while the Warriors continue to surprise. Injuries are beginning to have an impact as are mid season signings and the continuing fallout from the COVID pandemic with our first game postponement upsetting the preparations for both the Roosters and the Bulldogs. We also analyse the obstruction debate and how the coach's knocked back a rule change in 2018 and are sticking by it. Thank you for all of you around the world who are supporting us by listening in, sharing and interacting with us daily! First of all this is a coooool looking can. Think pretty much Tie Dye on a beer can. Little Bang is a brewery I have been sampling lately and their Roadtripper DIPA is a seriously big IPA, with attitude to spare. With hops for days, a dryness, and a bitterness that really packs a punch. Nothing but beer in here, but it's big, very big– 114 IBUs big. Episode 44. The Great Northern featuring Lee Harnden aka Linz of Ironlak & 750 Rebels. Between it all we hear stories about growing up in North QLD and his earliest pieces, the origins of his tag, his influences, becoming a sales rep and developing colours for Ironlak and on to travelling the world as a writer, fine artist and the many people he’s connected with during those travels. We talk painting the cover of Trem’s FTTOHNL, Ironlak’s Killer Combo series, living with Seen, lunching with Iz the Wiz, Can Two’s technique, the importance of Brisbane MC Ken Oath, Townsville’s Realm City crew, the Ironlak Writer Team and the influence of 750 and what the crew has meant to him. Welcome to today's episode of The Mind To Lead Podcast. Today I sat down with Troy Haines. Troy is the founder and CEO of theSPACE an incubator in North QLD, Cairns. Not knowing what he wanted to do out of school, he did a marketing degree and diploma in business, after which, he ultimately fell into owning a travel business. But it wasn't what he was passionate about. Through having a meditation practice it helped him to discover who he was, but by that time he was stuck in the business. Although Troy had success with the online travel business, he is now a part of Transformative Technologies throughout Australia, supporting people and entrepreneurs create technology around mental health wellbeing and human thriving. Having moved away from the travel business and into Transformative Technologies, he now feels he's living his purpose. The suffering or some part of it diminished. His mission in life is to help people to become more conscious on the planet and to live as a full expression of who they are. Some questions I asked Troy: (4:10) what process did you go through to transition from running the business that you felt stuck in, to the company that you run and own now? (6:30) What steps do you believe are the right steps to go from where people are to where people want to be? (10:35) What would you say to people who say they are too busy to meditate? (12:21) For people wanting to get into meditation, what would you recommend that has worked well for you? (15:45) Do you have any habits or daily rituals that get you into the right state? (18:24) How important do you think making time for yourself is? (19:25) If you could advise, people trying to start a business.
