Can beef jerky really be plant-based? More importantly, can it be commercially successful?Jade Gray is pioneering the alternative meat movement down under. After spending 20 years in China's food industry, Gray returned home to New Zealand in 2019. In this episode, New Zealand entrepreneur Jade Gray joins host, old friend and fellow Beijing EO member, Jim James to discuss how Jade is building a thriving plant-based meat company called Off-Piste Provisions. He was inspired to create meat alternatives after analyzing the large carbon footprint of livestock. Off-Piste makes plant-based beef jerky, pork rinds, and other snacks by using pea protein and food technology to mimic meat textures and flavours. Gray talks about the challenges of launching a new category, building a team, getting distribution, marketing to meat reducers vs vegans, and raising capital. He offers tips on how he uses mainstream PR rather than social media, keeps investors engaged continuously, and leverages government grants to establish legitimacy with media and consumers. It's time to take a look at EMF harmonizers, EMF Neutralizers, EMF blockers and EMF Reducers of all kinds. The question is whether or nor they work, which I define here as reducing the intensity of field exposure for electric fields, magnetic fields, RF radiation and/or dirty electricity. The short answer is that I've never analyzed such a device that performs such a reduction. We also talk about the various claims made by marketers; why people are so willing to purchase these devices; my own experience in buying one when I first became sick; and many other facets of this discussion including an important piece of historical context with a very expensive system marketed to EHS individuals that turned out to be a scam.Support the showSupport this podcast here: https://www.emfremedy.com/donate/Keith Cutter is President of EMF Remedy LLChttps://www.emfremedy.com/YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp8jc5qb0kzFhMs4vtgmNlgReversing Electromagnetic Poisoning is a production of EMF Remedy LLCHelping you helping you reduce exposure to harmful man-made electromagnetic radiation in your home.

Hugh Birdsall in conversation with David Eastaugh The Reducers' history is a powerful testament to rock ‘n' roll's power to transcend and inspire, for those who create it as well as for those who consume it. These four working-class underdogs—Detmold and fellow singer-guitarist-songwriter Hugh Birdsall, drummer Tom Trombley and bassist/vocalist Kaika—spent most of their adult lives building a potent body of recordings and a far-reaching reputation as a scrappy, riveting live act that affirmed rock ‘n' roll's vibrant promise on a regular basis.

To choose the right gearbox for your electric motor drive application, it's important to understand the fundamentals of gearboxes, the key differences between gear designs, and how to match a gearbox with your application's requirements. A gearbox is a gear train designed to modify the speed and torque characteristics of a motor. When gearboxes reduce speed, they simultaneously increase the torque (turning force) at the output. When they increase speed, they reduce torque. Speed reducers are a popular term for gearboxes that reduce an electric motor's speed and increase the torque. Because almost every application of gearboxes involves reducing speed and increasing torque, these terms are often used interchangeably. However, speed reducers are really a subcategory of gearboxes, and it is possible to use a gearbox to increase the speed of the output at the cost of torque. Types of Gearboxes The two main types of gearboxes are in-line gearboxes and right-angled gearboxes, each using specific types of gears. In-Line Gearboxes In-line gearboxes transmit the RPM of the motor to an output shaft that is parallel to the motor shaft. Depending on the gear train, the output shaft can be coaxial (aligned) with the motor shaft or offset by a small distance. In-line gearboxes typically use the following types of gears: Spur gears Helical gears Herringbone gears Planetary gears 1. Spur Gears Spur gears are the most common gear design and are relatively economical due to the standardization of their design. However, they don't offer as much torque capability as some other gear designs. 2. Helical Gears Helical gears have better meshing characteristics than spur gears, making them quieter in operation and able to handle more torque. However, due to their design, they produce axial forces that make them unsuitable for some very high torque applications. 3. Herringbone Gears Herringbone gears are essentially composed of two opposite-hand helical gears mounted side-by-side. This retains the benefits of helical gears while removing axial forces, making them useful for very high torque applications such as heavy-duty power transmission. 4. Planetary Gears Planetary gears typically provide the greatest speed reduction in the smallest volume and are very efficient. They also have a very low backlash, making them especially suited to applications with frequent stops and starts. Right-Angle Gearboxes Right-angle gearboxes transmit the RPM of a motor to an output shaft that is at right-angles (90 degrees from) the motor shaft axis. Right angle gearboxes typically use the following types of gears: Bevel gears Worm gears 1. Bevel Gears Bevel gears are essentially spur or helical gears that are tapered. They can mesh with another gear oriented at a different angle, making them suitable for creating a right-angle turn in the drive system. They offer similar characteristics to standard spur and helical gears. 2. Worm gears Worm gears are essentially a screw with a single tooth that spirals the length of the shaft, meshing with the teeth of a second gear mounted at right angles to the worm. Because the teeth interact in a sliding motion, they are usually quieter than other gear types. However, due to the friction produced, they have an overall lower efficiency, with a sharp drop in efficiency once the lead angle of the screw approaches 15 degrees. The friction also generates a significant amount of heat within the gearbox, and the correct maintenance of the lubrication system is important. Selecting a Gearbox Selecting a gearbox for your motor depends on the following gearbox characteristics: Torque output Speed output Efficiency Service factor Mounting and connection characteristics Backlash Radial load Moment of inertia Torque Output The gearbox must output enough torque to run the machinery that the gearbox is connected to. This includes the torque required to start and accelerate the machinery – which may be substantially higher than the normal operational torque – and the torque that is created during jams and load shocks. Speed Output If the application requires a specific speed output, the gearbox must maintain that speed while providing sufficient torque to the driven load. Efficiency If the motor output power closely matches the driven load's power requirements, the gearbox must convert that power efficiently. Efficiency is also important when one goal is to reduce the motor's operational costs, such as power costs. Service Factor The gearbox's service factor is the percentage of its rated torque that it can sustain for short periods of time. A substantial service factor is required if the gearbox will experience frequent fast accelerations or occasional load spikes on the output. As gear reducers do not have a cooling fan, the service factor is also based on how many hours a day it is used. The longer the production shift, the larger the case needs to be to dissipate the produced heat. Mounting and Connection Characteristics If the gearbox mounting area has space and profile restrictions, the gearbox size, shape, and configuration are important in determining which option is suitable. Different types of gears have different size efficiencies, with planetary gear trains generally the most compact and spur gears requiring a larger volume. Also, in smaller applications, it may be possible to utilize a gearbox that provides the mounting for the motor. In contrast, in larger applications, it is usually necessary to mount them separately to a chassis. Backlash Backlash is the amount of error or plays in the meshing of the gears in the gearbox, which results in the gearbox experiencing mechanical shock when started or stopped. For applications where the motor is run intermittently, it may be advisable to utilize a gearbox with a low amount of backlash, such as a planetary gearbox, to avoid premature mechanical failure. Radial Load Radial load refers to the force on the gearbox output shaft that occurs at right angles, such as when a belt pulley or sprocket is used to connect the gearbox to the driven load. Gearboxes have different radial load tolerances, so it's important to make sure that a gearbox can withstand your application's operational conditions. Moment of Inertia The moment of inertia of the gearbox is essentially the resistance of the gearbox to sudden acceleration. In applications that require responsive speed control, such as robotic servosystems, it is important to choose a gearbox that features a low moment of inertia. Gearbox Installation and Maintenance The most common cause of premature gearbox failure is not the gearbox's quality and workmanship but the conditions in which it is run and the service factor it was designed for. The most important factor is maintaining the gearbox properly – ensuring adequate lubricant is always present in every part of the gearbox and replacing the lubricant when it wears down from mechanical pressure and heat. Also, it is essential to properly install the gearbox to reduce vibration and stress. Always ensure that the alignment error between the motor and the gearbox and between the gearbox and the driven load is within the gearbox's acceptable limits. Summary Gearboxes have a variety of characteristics that affect their suitability for different applications. When choosing a gearbox, it is important to carefully analyze your specific application to select an option that efficiently meets all the design criteria. When you have chosen a gearbox, it is essential to install and maintain it properly to ensure the longest possible service life.

ARE YOU A MOMENTUM MAKER or a MOMENTUM BREAKER? (The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender) By Pastor George Lehman 2 Chronicles 15:7 - “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded”. It’s clearly on God’s heart for you and I to be a Momentum Maker: - You are designed that way. It is clearly on the devil’s heart for you to be a Momentum Breaker. Explain – Momentum: Impetus (driving force) gained by movement (Afrikaans – dryfkrag). Momentum Maker – Is like a super charged turbo engine Hayabusa down the Quarter mile. Momentum Breaker – is like an anchor. Being a: - Momentum Maker takes you places. Momentum Breaker takes you nowhere. My single definition of a Momentum Maker is: - To successfully and purposefully advance God’s Kingdom on earth. Matthew 6:10 - “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” Nobody said it was going to be easy. Motion causes friction (wrywing). When we move in God direction - resistance will come – From satan himself From within our flesh and this world These kinds of people are Momentum Breakers. They are double minded – Today I’m on fire for Jesus, my life makes sense. Tomorrow I am not even sure I’m a Christian. There is no guard over their mouth or their heart. The walk by feelings and not by faith Momentum Breakers – do things in a halfhearted way – no real accountability. They never challenge their lives to press in, eventually – They loose heart They give up Their vision dies They loose purpose They become negative, (Proverbs 18:21- “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.”) Sadly, some are no longer among us. On the other hand, A Momentum Maker – is focused – has a clear vision. Vision means – Without a vision my people perish. - Proverbs 29:18 Revelation from God, God’s direction, God’s guidance. Vision is the picture of what God wants you to be and to become and achieve – and that ultimately becomes the purpose for being His child. Not like Charlie Brown – comic strip – He shoots an arrow at the wooden fence, where the arrow hopefully sticks; he draws a bull’s eye ring around it. If there is no real focus to your vision and no goal, I guarantee you – you will become a Momentum Breaker. As a Momentum Maker you draw the target, i.e. Set the Vision and your Goal You keep raising your standards. You work at changing what needs changing. You don’t accept average living. Giving up is not an option. You press in even if times are difficult. You maintain the things that keep you growing. By the way, a Momentum Maker gives momentum to others. The moment you say, “Yes, I’m drawing my target – I’m going for it”, your life begins to encourage others. We are bound to get at least five (5) responses (reaksies) to our Vision and Goal and Momentum. In any group there are REFRESHERS (verkwik). Philemon 1:7 - “For I have derived great joy and comfort and encouragement from your love because the hearts of the saints (who are your fellow Christians) have been cheered and refreshed through you (my) brother.” These are people that will inspire and encourage you – REFINERS (verfyn). They take your passion, your enthusiasm, your vision – they sharpen it and clarify, They take your dedication and make it even Hebrews 3:13 - “But encourage one another daily, as long as it’s called today, so that no one of you may be hardened, by sins deceitfulness.” REFLECTORS. Colossians 1:4-9 – “4Because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints – 5the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel 6that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth. 7You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, 8and who also told us your love in the Spirit. 9For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. These kinds of people don’t oppose you – they just reflect what you are doing is cool. Mirror kind of people. What you put in, they give back. There is Unity here – like-minded people. REDUCERS. Revelation 3:15 - “I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!” It’s these people who reduce your vision, your enthusiasm, your effectiveness to their comfort zone. It must not begin to cost me. Their goal is to make it a lot smaller – so it will fit into their comfort zone. No great accomplishments are ever great in a comfort zone. Momentum stretches us to grow. We have Refreshers, Refiners, Reflectors, Reducers and now we have – REJECTERS – real Momentum Breakers. Galatians 5:15 - “But if you bite and devour (the devil nature) one another, be careful that you (and your whole fellowship) are not consumed by one another.” These kinds of people never seem to get going – always moving – going nowhere (rocking chair kind). They never buy into your vision, in fact, they drain the dream, and they just suck out every good idea. They always know better, but never show better. It always amazes me how they know so well how it should be – but never live it out themselves. People who want to do it on their own and not submit to the team. Triple C people = Complain Criticize Condemn The question is – what do you need to do to ensure: - You are a Momentum Maker and not A Momentum Breaker. If you are not doing today, something that will ensure you add value to – God’s Kingdom Your family, your church the Ministry, your work. You are only dreaming and wishful thinking. Do today what you want to be tomorrow – Are you a? Refresher Refiner Reflector Reducer Rejecter Which of these explain your life? Habakkuk 3:19 (Amp) – The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet and makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]. Decide each day – as it starts: - “Today Lord, I’m going to be a Momentum Maker”.

Dr Tom and Dr Mike discuss a study that shows us that our periodontal pathogens cause cardiovascular disease. But what it really says is that dental hygienists should be revered by all as the lifesavers that they truly are.
How many times have you written a state reducer? 100 times? 100 times a month? Truth is, it's tricky for human brains to write performant state mutations in immutable terms. Maybe you're whip smart and you've got the theory on lock but the resulting "spread hell" is hard to read and edit long term. Michel Westrate wants you to stop writing state updates with immutable APIs like spread, concat, and slice and take a second look at mutable APIs like property assignment, forEach, and push. He's made it really easy And the React Team finds this idea very interesting. We talk with Michel about this wild of idea of state producers (not reducers) in Immer, why they're in the spirit of React, his MobX fame, and why — even in 2019 — it's not a good idea to roll your own state management library. Listen cautiously though. After this episode, you may never write a state reducer again...
Watch on Youtube.com Welcome to today's episode of Heal Thyself Radio, this is Dr. Eric Madrid. Today we are going to talk about acid reducers and how they may rob your body of essential vitamins and minerals. DISCLAIMER: The material I cover in this video is for informational purposes only and not intended to be medical advice for your unique situation. Consult with your own personal physician if you have questions. As you know, prescription medications and many over-the-counter drugs, that is those medicines which can be purchased without a prescription, can play an important role in symptom management and treatment of chronic health conditions. However, they are not without potential side effects. While the U.S. population accounts for only 4.3 percent of the world’s 7.5 billion people, Americans consume 25 percent of the world’s pharmaceutical drugs. No bueno! This does not mean we are the healthiest! Far from it. Despite the high use of pharmaceutical prescription drugs, citizens of the United States rank 31st in the world with an average lifespan of 79.3 years according to Wikipedia. Costa Rica is #30 and Cuba #32. Japan is at the top of the list, with a lifespan of 83.7 years, while Japanese women live for an average of almost 87 years. Minimizing one’s need for both prescription and non-prescription drugs and choosing better nutrition and a healthier lifestyle should be the goal for all people who want to improve health. Depending on your current health status, acid reducers may be absolutely needed. However, lifestyle changes, diet modification and routine exercise may improve one's acid reflux and overall digestive issues. Lets talk about Acid Reducers- A poor diet is the main reason many develop acid reflux symptoms. Acid reflux is also referred to by some as GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease) or heartburn. Both refer to the same condition. Sometimes, a person may have a hiatl hernia, which results in acid reflux, no matter how clean their diet is. Again, this can be very troubling if present. If you have persistent acid reflux, consulting with a gastroenterologists should be done. Ask your family doctor for a referral. The sale of acid-reducing medications has become a billion dollar market industry worldwide. In 2013, prescription acid reducers generated over 10 billion U.S. dollars in sales. Unfortunately, these medications give people “permission” to eat foods they should not eat. These medications frequently block the symptoms which would otherwise notify a person to avoid this food or that food. The FDA originally approved these medications to treat stomach ulcers and symptoms of occasional acid reflux. However, they are supposed to be given for only 4 to 8 weeks. This is all the time it takes to heal a bleeding stomach ulcer, in most cases. Despite this, Many take acid reducers for many months, years and possibly even decades, unnecessarily. Let me be honest, There is sometimes a good reason to take the medications. Those with precancerous changes in the esophagus, a condition called Barrett’s esophagus, should take the medication as long as advised by the specialist. Also, there is a rare condition called Zollinger-Ellison where excess acid is secreted. When present, long term acid reducers are advised. In these situation, the benefits outweigh the risk in these situations. However, I assume in time, even those with Barretts will be told otherwise. There are Two Main Classes of Acid Reducers First, there are Histamine (H2) b

057 - Did you know that anyone can build a vortex brewer? with guest Rocky Peruch with host Linda Borghi This podcast is made possible by funding from Farm-a-Yard and Farm-a-Yards' Mighty Network. Please support our podcast and become a member seed.Farm-a-Yard.com In this episode my guest Angelo (aka Rocky) Peruch was a student that attended a 7-day conference on Star Island, NH in which I was the sole speaker. He was so inspired by the information that when he returned home he began implementing what he learned and built a 5-gallon vortex brewer. Not only did he build a brewer he started making compost, brewing compost tea and began vermicomposting. Rocky was so kind as to give us the directions to build the brewer, including a materials list and a video which I have included below. So…...go ahead and build your own brewer and let us know how it went. Links: https://youtu.be/MNo2S6XMaBA - How to build a vortex brewer A list of what you will need : So, here you see the components of my version of a vortex machine. In the Engineering profession, this is what we would call a proof-of-concept or Alpha prototype. It works well, so I haven't felt the need to make any improvements. Components include: 1 - 5-gallon bucket 1 - Feedthrough fitting (water heater department) 5 - 90 degree 3⁄4” PVC elbows 1 - Coupling, 3⁄4” PVC to 1⁄2” pipe thread 1 - Coupling, 1⁄2” pipe thread to hose fitting (at pump inlet) 1 - 800 GPH submersible pump (garden hose flow) 1 - Tee fitting, 1⁄2” pipe to PVC (connects to pump outlet) 3 - ball-type shut off valves 1 - Tee fitting, 3⁄4” PVC to 1⁄2” pipe thread 1 - Coupling, 1⁄2” pipe thread to hose end. 1 - Cap for hose end 1 - Small piece of garden hose 2 - 45 degree 3⁄4” PVC elbows 2 - Reducers, 3⁄4” PVC to 1⁄2” pipe thread (for flexible hoses) 2 - flexible hose assys 2 - U-Clamps 4ft of 1⁄2” vinyl tubing 1 – Adapter, 1⁄2” tubing to 1⁄2” pipe thread 1 – Cap, 1⁄2” 1 – small Fountain pump. (I used a Danner 120 GPH pump, but a smaller 70 GPH pump should also work). Small hose clamps 1 - Large plastic bin with lid About 4ft of 3⁄4” PVC tubing Blocks for bucket All of these components can be purchased at your local hardware store and Pet or Garden store. Tools you will need are a PVC tubing cutter (much quicker and easier than a hacksaw), PVC primer and cement, electric drill w/ 1⁄4” drill bit (drain hole), 1” drill bit (feedthrough and inlet lines), round file (for inlet and feedthrough fittings) and an assortment of screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc. One thing that I want to point out is that my choice of a submersible pump was somewhat by accident, but it works in this application and is the reason for the large plastic bin. I purchased the pump at Home Depot and two different associates assured me that the pump did not have to be submerged (which is, what I guess I wanted to hear). So, taking their word for it (which is highly unusual for me, but somewhat fortuitous), I forewent reading the instructions and constructed my first prototype. Upon powering it up however, I noticed water leaking from the pump. I soon discovered that the pump diverts some of the intake water internally, through the pump and out through a small discharge hole in the rear of the pump. After researching some options for a non-submersible type pumps, which are much larger and much more expensive, I decided to solve the problem by putting the bottom half of the machine in a large plastic tray so that the pump would be submerged. That solved the problem, but required that I periodically scoop some water from the plastic bin back into the bucket. This is the water that flows through the internal part of the pump and is discharged into the bin (about 700ml/min). I didn't see this as a big issue as I need to attend the process anyway to reverse flow about every 2-3 minutes. Eventually, I decided to put another small pump in the bin to pump water from the bin back into the bucket. You will see this when I fire up the vortex machine. It's your choice if you want to add the second pump or save some $$ and do it by hand. Again, you will need to attend the process, so it's no big deal to do it by hand. http://farmayard.podbean.com/ - Podcast webpage https://www.facebook.com/groups/farmayard/ - Facebook Movement Community http://farm-a-yard.com - Join the Movement, get on our email list https://www.facebook.com/letsfarmyouryard/ - Our Facebook https://www.youtube.com/user/lborghi1?&ab_channel=Farm-a-Yard - Our YouTube channel Music credit: “Insomnia” by John Sheehan. In many ways, the topic of conversation for this episode revolves around what ultimately amounts to a fairly vanilla, almost-index like portfolio. The asset class in question, however, may verge on the exotic for listeners with less fluency in the field of derivatives. My guest is Eric Ervin, President and CEO of Reality Shares, and he has joined me to discuss their flagship ETF DIVY. I would argue that DIVY is one of the few exposures that fits the definition of both being liquid and alternative. By tapping into the OTC market, Eric and his team build a portfolio of 1-to-5 year dividend swaps, which have historically earned investors a unique return known as the dividend risk premium. Eric’s confidence to bring such a unique product into the market was borne from his experience as an advisor, where he utilized alternatives extensively with his clientele. Learning more about this experience in evaluating alternatives and the mental framework he used that allowed him to allocate upwards of 50% of client portfolios to alternatives is where we begin our conversation.
