It's an incredibly difficult topic to talk about – men and sexual addiction. But it makes it just a little easier when you're talking with another man who has been there. And that's Steve Wagner's calling. Steve dealt with his addiction for many years before finding healing himself. Then God called him to start a sexual addiction recovery ministry in 2000, and since then he has worked with more than 3,000 men to help them find wholeness. He named the ministry Revive40, for the more than 40,000 Christian men bound in sexual addiction in America. His wife Marla leads Beloved, another group for those men's wives who have been traumatized by their husband's sexual unfaithfulness. Introduction to a new podcast from Celebrate Story! Steve Wagner presents Celebrate The Grey! We will look at a number of topics that used to feel black and white, but now fall into a Grey space.
Listen Now to Steve Wagner Ten years in the making, Steve’s book, “All You Need is Myth: The Beatles and the Gods of Rock” exploresAuthor Steve Wagner the idea that rock and roll spawned a new global religion, with living archetypes from the ancient pantheon of Gods and Goddesses expounded in traditions like the Greek, Roman, and Hindu mythologies. Author Steve Wagner establishes a persuasive argument that these “Rock Gods” have not only achieved the status of mythic deities but were chosen and nurtured for these roles by global culture itself. In our interview we explore the rock Pantheon of Gods, the influences of media guru Marshall McLuhan, Jungian archetypes of the iconic rock stars, (i.e. Hendrix - Magician, Slick - Witch, Wilson - The Child, Dylan - Prophet, Joplin - Oracle), influences of eastern religion and psychedelics on the Beatles, and Yoko Ono as the Yin of Lennon’s Yang. And after a living religion like this…really, what’s next? Enjoy!

With more than 20 years in marketing, Steve Wagner has watched the demand generation concept “grow up,” so to speak. When he was starting out, it was in its “baby phase,” and he has since watched it become an integral part of the marketing life cycle. Steven started his career on the account management and sales side of business — which helped him better understand and appreciate those teams — before working his way over to marketing. These days, he’s the Senior Marketing Manager at Webbula, a data quality platform, where he heads marketing initiatives for its data hygiene and enhancement solutions for email marketers. On this episode of Tech Qualified, Tristan Pelligrino interviews Steve, who gives us an overview of what email marketing looks like in today’s climate. He discusses the importance of targeted email campaigns and explains why it’s important to have a “clean” email list. (Did you know companies get assigned sender reputation scores?) Since joining the team more than a year ago, he talks about how he’s prioritized his marketing efforts, and he shares what he hopes to accomplish post-COVID.

Sima is joined today by Steve Wagner, a Senior Marketing Manager, to chat about email hygiene and enhancing data lists. Steve Wagner leads the strategic marketing function for Webbula. He has over 15 years of experience in demand generation, digital marketing, and account-based marketing programs. He's previously led these efforts across several organizations, including Sales Performance International, ShowClix, and Ariba. Isn't Email Dead? Webbula assists with email list hygiene by driving the best marketing performance possible in such categories as deliverability and open rates and helps to enrich the organization’s data by finding missing parts of their information. Year after year, email marketing proves to be one of the top revenue drivers for businesses, despite proclamations that email is dead. Although there are certainly trends in digital these last couple of years, each year circles back to having a solid email address in order for people to validate their accounts or to drive certain messaging to. What is Email Hygiene, Anyway? When looking at an email list with a million names, most marketers tend to stop by wondering how many of those email addresses are valid, and how they might be identified. However, that is not enough. There are a lot of threats out there, and they do deliver. Webbula breaks these threats into four major categories: 1) reputation threats; 2) fraud threats; 3) delivery threats; and 4) conversion threats. Steve relates examples for each and how his company mitigates these risks. Actual Data vs. Model Data Webbula also has a data-enrichment side that will append additional information or missing gaps for people on their customer lists. 100% of Webbula data is self-reported, deterministic, and individually linked so each piece of data they collect can be traced back to the individual who self-reported it. This information often comes from publisher partners, transactional events, social media surveys, and other data providers that rely on that same level of data to apply to their third-party data. Steve shares some benefits of using self-reported data. Looking Ahead Google is phasing out the third-party cookies over the next couple of years and this has really shaken a lot of marketers who have relied heavily on digital. Thankfully, Google is aware of the potential fallout and have applied a grace period. Steve discloses what he sees for the future of marketing and Webbula. _______________________________ Sima loves to hear from her listeners with input, questions, suggestions and just to connect! Steve Wagner – All You Need Is Myth – Can the “Soundtrack of Our Time” Help Us Heal the Shadow and See the Light?Aired Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM ESTInterview with Music Mythologist Steve Wagner, author of “All You Need Is Myth: The Beatles and the Gods of Rock”“Of course love is more powerful than fear. Otherwise we’d be singing ‘All You Need is Fear.” — Swami BeyondanandaIn his study of “spontaneous remission,” Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madrona suggested that these unexplained anomalous healings were often accompanied by what he called a “change of story.” Given the dire “shituation” we as a civilization, a species and a world find ourselves in, maybe we need a collective change of story, a “spontaneous remissioning” so to speak. So … where might we go to find such a story?Hint: All you need is love. Our guest this week, “music mythologist” Steve Wagner offers an interesting and compelling thesis: That during the latter half of the 20th century, mythology “came alive” as the ancient archetypes cited by Joseph Campbell emerged through the Beatles, and other rock icons like the Stones, Elvis, Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Jim Morrison, the Who, and Brian Wilson.Unlike ancient and traditional mythologies, based on story and faith, here were real flesh-and-blood contemporaries who brought these archetypes to life, and gave us purpose and meaning. Consider that Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign song was Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow.” (I suppose if the current administration had to pick a Fleetwood Mac theme, it would have to be “Tell Me Lies”, right?)Mythology – from Greek to Nordic to Celtic to Indigenous – has always provided a stage for darkness and light to dance together. Can the modern mythos of rock culture help us shine a light on the current darkness?Join us and find out!Steve Wagner is a veteran San Francisco media personality, and member of the San Francisco Film Critic’s Circle. He was co-host, writer, and executive producer of the Bay Area television programs Reel Life and Filmtrip, reviewing over 1,000 films and interviewing over 300 actors, directors, writers, and musicians. In the 1980s, he was singer and guitarist of the Backsliders, a touring rock band that performed over eight hundred shows and opened for numerous national acts. For a decade, Steve Wagner was a director of the San Francisco Art Exchange, a gallery specializing in rock & roll photography and original album cover art. He brokered sales of many of the world’s most famous album cover original artworks, including Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.Steve Wagner has ghostwritten or collaborated on several published books, contributed articles on music, film, and popular culture to numerous publications, and presented lectures and workshops on music, art, and mythology in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, and Boston. His book All You Need is Myth: The Beatles and Gods of Rock (Waterside, 2019), a study of the classic rock era through the lens of classical mythology, is the product of ten years of research and composition. If you’re curious how the Beatles and other “Gods of Rock” brought ancient mythology to life – and how this living mythology can inform our purpose in challenging times, please tune in this Tuesday, February 11th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET. http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/To find out more about All You Need Is Myth, please go here: http://allyouneedismyth.com/And now that we ARE back with new shows (and planning a Zoom video element after the first of the year), we invite you to help support Wiki Politiki and our mission to bring about “the great upwising” and functional politics! Steve Gonzalez from Stone Brewing in Napa is our guest on Brew Ha Ha with Steve Jaxon, Mark Carpenter and Herlinda Heras. Check out the Stone Brewing blog too, here. Stone Brewing is based at Stone Brewing World Gardens & Bistro, a big facility located in Escondido, near San Diego. They also have a brewery in Richmond, Virginia and Shanghai, China. They opened their Napa location in May. It is in an 1877 stone building. It has been a warehouse and a dance hall at different times. There is a restaurant there that gets rave reviews. They have an outdoor smoker for brisket and ribs. They also have a lot of vegetarian choices on the menu. Their co-founders, Steve Wagner and and Greg Cook, met each other in Los Angeles in the music business and then they met again in a brewing class at UC Davis. They recognized each other and became friends. They are drinking a Hoppy Lager, 5.8% alcohol, that used three hops, including one that Mark had not heard about. It's Stone Tropic Thunder Lager (second from the left in the picture above). It's called Cashmere. They opened a brewery in Europe to supply their export market. Now they have sold the Berlin brewery to Brew Dogs which has had their UK distribution already for a long time. The Stone IPA is about half of their volume. Arrogant Bastard is one of their most famous brew brands too. They also have a location in Shanghai, China. Mark notes that there are many beer brands that have opened locations like that as a way of asserting their brand. They are tasting Hoppy Beans IPA and comparing it to some Belgian chocolate that Herlinda brought in. There is coffee in this beer. The coffee comes from a local roaster who has very innovative coffee techniques, which they describe.

The first time I tried Nomad Brewing Co’s Long Reach Saison, I was on what I thought was a date at the Champagne Room upstairs from one of my favourite bars in Sydney, The Winery in Surry Hills. That minute the magic touched my lips (the beer), my internal monologue was like… “What IS this magnificence?” Flash forward 4 weeks and I find myself at a craft beer launch in Surry Hills (Sydney) engaged in earnest conversation with co-founder and managing director of Nomad Brewing Co, Kerrie Abba, bonding over time we’ve both spent time living in the northern Italian region of Piemonte at the base of the Alps (where FIAT’s founded, the 2006 Winter Olympics were held and the home of Ferraro chocolate). The very next Friday afternoon I’m sitting here in the ‘Transit Lounge’, Nomad’s tasting bar at the brewery, sipping on Nomad's Freshie Salt & Pepper Gose and reminiscing with Kerrie about the joy of Italian culture and love of life that we were both fortunate enough to experience by living in Italia and the impact it’s made on our respective lives. For Kerrie, it’s become not only a way of life, but her business and lifeblood. 2 years ago, Nomad Brewing Co launched as the brainchild of Kerrie, her husband Johnny Latta and Global Top 100 brewer, Leonardo Di Vincenzo. The owners of Australia’s largest craft beer distributors, Experience IT beverages, Kerrie and Johnny persuaded Brooks Carretta, Leonardo’s brewing protege at Birra Del Borgo, to join them in Australia to set-up the Nomad business and come on board as their head brewer. With all their brew kit all imported from Italy and determined to brew using native Australian ingredients, Nomad Brewing have created an array of amazing beers designed to delight all palates. We enjoy vast ranging chats about the Barolo wine region (King of wines, wine of kings), the fascinating story behind the creation of Freshie Salt & Pepper Gose, Nomad Brewing's 'So Caliente' collaboration with Steve Wagner from Stone Brewing, her various and varied businesses and what inspired Kerrie to jet half-way across the world to live in a small town in Italy. Super, super, SUPER podcast for you ears & I can’t wait to catch-up with Kerrie again. Lets get into it! Greg Koch doesn’t care if you don’t like Stone Brewing’s Co.’s beer. Case in point, the label on a bottle of Arrogant Ale: This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory… Koch, Stone’s CEO and cofounder, insists that when he wrote that caption back in 1997 when they first released the beer, it wasn’t a marketing gimmick. He really didn’t want people who prefer “fizzy yellow beer” to buy this hoppy, high-alcohol monster without fair warning. Of course, he did have some fun with it, reveling in the mocking tone of the Arrogant Bastard. “That’s a tone of voice that I attribute to the beer and not to myself. Although maybe there is a little bit of me in there,” says Koch, who with partner Steve Wagner started in 1996 what would become one of the largest and most beloved craft breweries in the United States. That little bit of arrogance — although you might swap that descriptor out with optimism, passion, or persistence — is in large part what has made Stone the giant success it is today. Stone Brewing started early in the craft beer revolution, when the market had little interest in bitter, heavy brews, but Koch and Wagner had strong and unwavering opinions about good beer. When they decided to start their own brewery they knew they had to stick stubbornly to their ideals, and accept that some set of people would like it … or they wouldn’t. But they did, and as Americans came around to more aggressive flavor profiles in their beers (with Stone and other small breweries leading the charge), the Southern California-based operation grew rapidly, averaging 50 percent annual growth and ranking consistently as one of the country’s fastest-growing companies and best-reviewed breweries. In this interview you will learn: - Why Greg has never had to ever pay for advertisement for Stone Brewing Co - How to develop a cult following - Creating something that people truly want - What it means to follow your heart and create true art - The Stone Brewing story, and how it all started - Marketing copy 101 - & Much more! Steve Wagner from Justice For All joins Josh Brahm and Gabi Vehrs to discuss what Students for Life clubs should do with their events. Steve argues that every event should create a debate about abortion that can be turned into a dialogue. Here's the list of typical pro-life campus club activities that Steve assesses in this episode: 1: Cupcakes For Life. 2: Poll table event - Debate2Dialogue.org for pics. 3: Bringing speakers (pro-life apologetics, post-abortion, etc.) or hosting a debate. 4: Screening movies like "It's a Girl," "180," "October Baby" and "Bella." 5: Volunteering for the local Pregnancy Resource Center. 6: Diaper drives. 7: Traveling to the March for Life. 8: Bound4Life events. (Red tape over mouth.)
Steve Wagner from Justice For All joins Josh Brahm and Gabi Vehrs for a two-episode discussion about common terms and labels used in the abortion debate. In this episode they focus on the labels that both sides of the debate call the entity killed in an abortion: unborn, preborn, zygote, embryo, fetus, fetal human, baby and child. Steve uses the word "unborn" at the beginning of a dialogue with a pro-choice person so as not to add an unnecessary impediment to the conversation, and to avoid begging the question. Steve responds to the following challenges to his approach: "Aren't we humanizing the unborn by calling her a 'child' or by using male/female pronouns?" "What about when we're writing? Do we always need to make a case for the humanity of the unborn before we start calling her a 'baby' or using male/female pronouns?"
Steve Wagner from Justice For All joins Josh Brahm and Gabi Vehrs for a two-episode discussion about common terms and labels used in the abortion debate. In this episode they focus on the labels that both sides of the debate call each other: pro-choice, pro-abortion. pro-abort. pro-abortion-choice. pro-life. anti-abortion. anti-choice. Steve, Josh and Gabi explain why they are willing to use the term "pro-choice" when beginning a dialogue, even though many pro-life people see that as an inaccurate "weasel word." Steve argues that he needs to ask the person in front of him a lot of questions to accurately understand what they think about abortion, and he doesn't want to create unnecessary impediments to the dialogue by using offensive terms that he doesn't even think accurately portrays most abortion advocates. Steve also responds to the following challenges to his approach: "But isn't 'pro-choice' the least accurate label for the other side?" "What about when it's just pro-life people hanging out? Should we call them 'pro-aborts' then?" "What if the entire pro-life movement decides to use gracious language while the other side uses rhetorically powerful labels? Are we giving up too much ground? What if unborn babies die because of this approach?" "What should I do when I see other pro-life people using terms on Facebook that I think are mean or inaccurate? Should I confront the pro-life person, or just let it go?" Finally, Steve, Josh and Gabi discuss the terms that pro-choice people often call pro-lifers: anti-abortion and anti-choice. In the next episode, they will discuss the terms used for the unborn. (Zygote, embryo, fetus, unborn, preborn, baby, child.)

Josh, Gabi and Megan Almon from Life Training Institute discuss how pro-lifers can best respond to pro-choice people who argue that abortion should be legal because the world is overpopulated or because women will die in back-alleys if abortion became illegal. Note: Our strategy for responding to back-alley abortions relies heavily on the work of Steve Wagner from Justice For All.
Condo amenities are great – there are gyms, pools, tennis courts, playrooms, and roof decks, and they all add to the value of apartments. But there’s a dark underbelly to all this glitz: when owners fall behind on monthly common charges, they stand to lose access to these goodies. That is the case at a Long Island condo, and the board is wondering if it can cut off the delinquents at the amenity pass. Listen as Theresa Racht, partner at Racht & Taffae, and Steve Wagner, principal at Porzio, Bromberg and Newman, untangle the problem for the managers.

During a recent episode of Life Report, Liz and Andrew became concerned by Josh’s statement that he has "pro-choice friends." Steve Wagner joins the show via Skype to talk about whether pro-life people should have pro-choice friends. What about people that say they’re "pro-life" but in action are effectively pro-choice?
Special guests Steve Wagner and Becca Haschke from Justice For All join Josh for a discussion on how pro-lifers can best interact with post-abortive people. We don’t want to make them feel unnecessarily guilty, but we also don’t want to overcompensate and act as if abortion is no big deal.
Special guests Steve Wagner and Becca Haschke from Justice For All join Josh for a discussion on how to respond to "impossible" pro-choice people.
