In the film "The Masquerade" city leaders, developers and community activists gather around a table for a dinner party. They're discussing a plan to tear down the city's arts district and replace it with a “smart city.” One of the guests is a mysterious illusionist, played by former San Francisco 49er Vernon Davis. He is the magical catalyst for getting guests to be radically honest about their personal motivations for backing or resisting the high-tech development. Emmy-nominated filmmaker Joslyn Rose Lyons directed "The Masquerade."

Val managed to find a motel to sleep away the day in, and told Will what she could about the danger of sunlight before passing out. Will woke up early and, unable to wake Val, he ate too much candy, made himself sick, and flooded the bathroom trying to clean up his mess. Val awoke to a flooded room and a very angry motel owner, who accepted Val's bribe but called the police anyway. This week on the show we go into the field for a visit to Sypher Arts Studio where Labyrinth Masquerade founder Shawn Strider and producer Jacquie Adorni give us a tour of the treasure trove of costumes that make up the living tapestry that is the Labyrinth Masquerade — the Twenty Seventh edition of which will take place this coming August 15th & 16th at the Historic Biltmore in Downtown Los Angeles.The Masquerade hosts thousands of guests each year, with many cosplayers and costumers going all out to create elaborate characters. The Labyrinth Masquerade is the place to see and be seen whether you are a Sylph from an airy dimension never visited by humans, or a hapless mortal wisked away from their prom night by a mischievous sprite. We chatted just ahead of the release of their powerful new album Time and Tide, which dropped on April 24. Val awoke in the hospital, recovering from the ordeal with her former coterie. Sheriff Cross explained that Val would have to seek the approval of Princess Cleopatra and she must pretend that she had only recently been embraced, but Val was also warned by another kindred to not lie to the Princess. An uncomfortable meeting ensued, and Val simply stated how she could use her skills to serve the Camarilla.
