I am so excited to kick off the new year with an amazing guest, Kristina Karlsson. Kristina is the founder of Dream Life Store and the global Swedish design and stationery brand, Kikki K. She is also the author of the book, "Your Dream Life Starts Here," and is on a mission to inspire 101 million people to dream big and make their dreams happen. Kristina shares her personal journey of manifesting her dreams and provides incredible insights and actionable tips for creating your own dream life. Her story is so inspiring, and I hope it encourages you to take the necessary steps towards turning your dreams into reality. Kristina's path to manifesting her dream life started at the age of 23 when she moved from Sweden to Australia. She was feeling lost and unsure about her future. One sleepless night, she asked her partner, Paul, for guidance on what she should do with her life. He suggested that she write down what was important to her. On that list, Kristina discovered that she wanted to drive to work every day and love it. She also wanted to have her own business, work with Swedish design, have a connection with Sweden, and have the flexibility to be there for her family when needed. She even added a dream of having her life in both countries. These dreams seemed impossible at the time, but Kristina has gone on to achieve every single one of them. Coming through a very challenging time when Kikki-K was taken into voluntary administration not once, but twice during Covid, Kristina Karlsson shared openly about how the power of walking in nature, meditation and journaling helped her through. I have had such an interesting life these last few years After losing my first business kikki.K - in the business pain that so many retailers experienced during the harsh Covid related retail store lockdowns – I picked myself up, dusted myself off, and found a new direction. As I look back now, it was a direction I'd already started moving in after writing my first book in 2018 about the transformative power of dreaming. I wanted to use everything I'd learned in my 20 plus years as a creative, leader, entrepreneur, author and avid life-long learner to inspire and empower other people. As a speaker, mentor and coach. Hello & welcome back!I love trying different things to support my dreams & goals, and one thing that has made a big different in my life is STREAKING. Let me explain… I first heard of streaks through my kids, for who streaking was using Snapchat to message their friends every day without missing a day. The more days in a row, the longer the ‘streak' – and they became obsessed with not missing a day.Streaking is the simple practise of conscious, consistent actions that create life-changing results. And what I've realised is that to make a dream, goal or habit work, it's all about consistency. Small things done every day. Day in, day out.When I start a new dream, goal or habit, I always read about the topic and when I started a habit of daily running some months ago, I read a super inspiring book called Streaking, by Jeffery & Jami Downs - and the authors of this book are my guests on this episode.It's an inspiring read and the insights from Jeffery & Jami are practical and valuable.I loved the book so much that I chose it as our book to read, discuss and implement in GROW – my virtual book group.
