This week on the Toy Power Podcast, we do a classic retrospective best of vote! But this time, instead of one big line; we select from three smaller lines, and vote accordingly. This in turn causes some confusion at the start, but we sort ourselves out; and get the votes right eventually! Sectuars, Silverhawks & Bravestarr are the challenges for this round, and it proves hard or sometimes overwhelming what gets our vote for each round. Then we pivot across to an extremely generous Mystery Box delivered to the studio from fellow Patreon member: FireFly_81 aka Micheal. Mad appreciation champ!!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
JAG HAR STYRKAAAN! Eller var det kraften? Nåväl, i detta av avsnitt pratar vi om He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs is an animated television space Western, similar to the series The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers and BraveStarr. The series premiered in the United States in 1987 and had a run of 52 episodes.[1] The show was based on Star Musketeer Bismarck (星銃士ビスマルク, Seijūshi Bisumaruku), a Japanese anime series created by Studio Pierrot that achieved moderate success in Japan. The English language rights to the series were purchased by World Events Productions (WEP), the same company behind the English-language version of Voltron, in 1986.[2] WEP reorganized and rewrote the series, incorporating most of the original episodes and creating 6 new ones, before releasing it under the name Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. Saturday Morning Cartoons.
The animation Filmation studio delighted kids in the #80s with classic #cartoons such as #He-Man, She-Ra, #Ghostbusters and Fat Albert, not to mention their final creation Bravestarr, a #scifi #western about a native American marshal and his man-horse 30/30 as they attempt to keep the peace on the planet of new Texas. But was Bravestarr resposible for Filmations destruction? Is the show that bad, or that good? Only one way to find out! It's Christmas Eve on the Fans of Power channel and instead of checking out the He-Man She-Ra Christmas special for the umpteenth time we decided to switch it up a little bit and watch Bravestarr's "Tex's Terrible Night" and something most of us had never seen before "A Cosmic Christmas". Sorry you're listening to this a couple days after the fact but hope the watch-party along with some of our own personal Christmas stories will still resonate with you this holiday season.
The tiger wanders into the digital realm with gaming director Sam Warner and his new, independent, release “The Foglands”.Like any good adventure story, this simulation shooter is the fruition of extensive research and painstaking attention to detail. Sam breaks down the lengthy development process Well Told Entertainment went through to make this a reality. From early concepting, to pitching, and production design, it is a lengthy process to say the least to reach the point of market release. And then there's everything that comes after! If it takes a couple good creators to make a comic, then it takes an entire team to create a good video game (video game…damn I sound old). Like any good comic book, “The Foglands” emphasis is its narrative. A gothic themed sci-fi western, The player is immersed in a post-apocalyptic world as a runner who's motivation is the survival of their isolated underground community. As one explores the bizarre and hellish world they are faced with monstrous creatures and a gauntlet of challenging obstacles. All while trying to out run “the FOG” and gather enough supplies and loot to help the community hang on just a bit longer!Artistically its cool as hell. The environments are rich and interesting with details that lend a very fresh visual perspective to the post apocalyptic landscape. It's like “Bravestarr” meets “Aliens.” The creatures and characters encountered are wonderfully bizarre while still remaining subconsciously familiar. The Foglands is a Playstation hybrid for VR and FPS, so there's a version for whatever your preferred method of play may be. In stores now and available for download, so keep the tiger milk fresh during these winter months and check it out!A note from Tadd: The “NOW” is the resurgence of the independent creator through crowd sourcing and self-publishing availability. As the veil gets pulled back ever further and the predatory practices of the corporate models get revealed, it is more and more important to support those who actually create the stories and art that we as consumers enjoy. So SUPPORT INDIE PROJECTS. Help make the indies the mainstream. Even the smallest of gestures can be of the biggest help.Have you experienced the elusive and majestic energy of the Blue Tiger? Had a sighting in the wilderness of the eternal forest? Tasted the blue milk of it's revenge? Then let the people know it exists!Get caught up on BTR's webcomic, “Operation: B.L.U.E.” at GNAR PIG. This is a public episode. If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit bluetigerrevenge.substack.com
Fin.

What's up, dudes? It's an episode so big I had to have 2 sets of guests! Yes, it's the space cop BraveStarr! I've got 3 new members joining my BraveStarr club: AA and CM Chuck from Just Another Friday Night, and Jeff Loftin from Lost Christmas! Everyone wanted to talk a BraveStarr Christmas and “Tex's Terrible Night!”In this 1987 Filmation version of “A Christmas Carol,” Marshall BraveStarr and his deputy 30-30 leave Fort Kerium unattended at Christmas. When Stampede and Tex-Hex plan to exploit the lawmen's absence with an attack, Shaman takes action Charles Dickens-style! Shaman magically transports Tex-Hex from his bed to the past! Tex is forced to relive leaving his love Ursula, double crossing McBride, (almost?) dying in a crash, and being reconstituted as a sorcerous bandit.Shaman then shows Tex the present. Evidently Ursula and her new beau are heading to Fort Kerium for Christmas! The future, in typical Dickensian fashion, is bleak and continues without Tex leading his gang. Yes, the grizzled outlaw sees and embraces his own tombstone!Tex rediscovers a bit of his humanity as he sabotages his master's plan to attack on Christmas Day. The town is saved, as is his long lost love! This one's got it all! Well, except all the ghosts… Rotoscoping? Check. Fewer animation frames per second? Yup. Stereotypical cowboy junk? Definitely! So grab your blaster, hop on your quasi-anthropomorphic steed, and ride into this episode all about a BraveStarr Christmas and “Tex's Terrible Night!”Just Another Friday NightYouTube: @JAFNpodcastFB: @JAFNpodcastTwitter: @JAFNpodcastIG: @jafnpodcastLost Christmas PodcastFB: @LostChristmasPodcast Twitter: @LostChristmasP1 IG: @lostchristmaspodcast Check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Totally Rad Christmas Mall & Arcade, Teepublic.com, or TotallyRadChristmas.com! Appreciation station for the short lived but awesome BraveStarr toyline!
This week Brent goes on vacation. We discuss the closing of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser and other Disney Florida problems. Sam tells the tale of BRAVESTARR the 80's cartoon and toyline. We also cover current Action Figure and TV/Movie news, and all the regular junk ...........it's WHERE THE TOYS ARE!WHERE THE TOYS ARE THE PODCASThttps://linktr.ee/WTTAPodcast
Paranoia, TikTok Challenges (perry punch and firedodgeball), Billing Plans, Menu turning, denying service to my girlfriend, nice talker, one where i forget the premise for like five minutes then remember it, hotel trick or treating, hotboxing children, baiting, and eating spaghetti
Sometimes the Top 5 section of the show supports the theme of a particular week, sometimes it's used to explore a specific aspect of or contribution to cinema and other times it is the consequence of the returning Dan's failure to understand a joke at his expense. We open this week with a chat about the Top 5 Eagles. Who knows exactly how Sidey will cobble together something out of our ramblings about OPERATION FORTUNE: RUSE DE GUERRE, a title so forgettable it immediately induces retrograde amnesia. Guy Ritchie returns - did he ever really go away - with his take on a MISSION IMPOSSIBLE style globe-trotting spy caper, throwing in some inspiration from THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT to bring us the story of Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) forced to recruit Hollywood Star Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett) in order to stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology. Exotic locations, decent enough action, a story which movies along at a pace, some humour of both the weird and obvious style, in theory there should be a lot to like here. Aubrey Plaza for one thing, Cary Elwes for another or a terrifically pantomime Hugh Grant who mixes his PADDINGTON 2 villain with his turn in THE GENTLEMEN to great effect. Never settling too long to get boring but unfortunately never becoming remotely interesting either such that I was forgetting it as I was watching it which explains our all over the place review. If it was released now we would almost certainly decry it as a shameless politically correct HE-MAN rip off, cynically calculated to sell toys but BRAVESTARR wasn't, it was released in 1987 and the most interesting aspect of it by far is how it was derived from traditions associated with the shamanic cultures of Native Americans and Old West stories except the horses are cybernetically augmented, the bar tenders are green-skinned, orange tashed HULK rip offs and the enemies include enormous demonic cattle and sexy snake women. We enjoyed this but was it just the nostalgia talking really? We love to hear from our listeners! By which I mean we tolerate it. If it hasn't been completely destroyed yet you can usually find us on twitter @dads_film, on Facebook Bad Dads Film Review, on email at baddadsjsy@gmail.com or on our website baddadsfilm.com. Until next time, we remain... Bad Dads

It's 1984/85 and in my case I am coming home from school, homework is done and cartoons are on. So many to choose from back in that time with G.I. Joe, Transformers, Bravestarr, M.A.S.K. and more but He-Man was one of my favorites! I remember when Dolph Lundgren starred as He-Man is the 80's movie Masters of The Universe but it was always lacking the story to make any of the fans appreciate it greatly. The story didn't take place in Eternia, there was no sign of Orko and the sorceres was aged greatly, well today Chris and Travis want to change that. We have included stars of today that we feel can make impressions in the roles we assigned them and we included all you could want and maybe a couple of others! 80's cartoon/toy tie-ins are probably our favourite genre after Christmas Carol variations, so when Mitch found this episode from 1987 of "Bravestarr" that puts a Filmation spin on the Dickens classic, it got added to our short list very quickly. Was it worth it, or did it disappoint?

No fancy dan celebrities this week my lovelies, but by Bionic Bamboo and Bubbling Blancmange do we have a cracking show for you all about everyone's favourite intergalactic indigenous lawman. Gaz and Dange discuss a largely forgotten classic cartoon and why it's so gosh darn difficult to find out anything about it. Plus there's the usual lost train of thought, dramatic sighing and nonsensical gibberish from the boys. So stick around sexy pants, you might learn a thing or two
This week, our heroes reminisce on the good ol days, and talk about weird old cartoons from a bygone era, the 80's, where big hair and nose candy made every decision. Netflix's 2019 Films To Watch and Avoid#MondayMailbag: The passionate conversation between Mike and the writer made want to watch [Netflix's ‘No Good Nick']!#MoneyMonday: Dave Ramsey's Debt Snowball. The goal with our money is to build and use wealth for the glory of God. One huge barrier to reaching this goal is debt and Dave Ramsey's debt snowball method is a proven method to eliminate debt fast. The debt snowball method is listing your debts from smallest to largest, paying your minimum payment on all of your debts and applying all that you can at the smallest debt. Then, when one debt is eliminated, take all of the money you were throwing at it to the next debt, until you wipe out all of your debt.TiVoMike's Money Tip: Write all of your debt on a big board and place on your refrigerator and as you pay off your debt, take a sharpie and cross it out. This is for two reasons: 1) Reminds you of your goal and 2) gives you a thrill when each debt is knocked off.#Spotlight: 2019 New Netflix Films | The hosts discuss the upcoming slate of films and offers which films are worthy of your viewing time.RECOMMENDED‘The Irishman' - Directed by Martin Scorsese‘Murder Mystery' - Starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston‘Always Be My Baby' - Starring Ali Wong‘Sextuplets' - Starring Marlon Wayans‘The Great Hack' - Starring Felicity Huffman‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile' - Starring Zac EfronNOT RECOMMENDED‘Velvet Buzzsaw' - Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Renee Russo ‘Triple Frontier' - Similar to Zero Dark Thirty‘Polar' - Based on graphic novel‘The Last Laugh' - Starring Richard Dreyfus and Chevy ChasePlus, the hosts discuss Rosco's Modern Life and Bravestarr! For more information:Monday's Mailbag: www.tivomike.com and Netflix's ‘No Good Nick'Debt Snowball Method: www.DaveRamsey.comSpecial Thanks to: Cartoon Intros
I know I say this a lot, but this one was a real thrill for me. This week, my conversation with Skeletor himself: the one and only Alan Oppenheimer! If Alan's career only included his work on He-Man and She-Ra (where he also played Man-at-Arms, Cringer/Battle Cat, and Mer-Man) and The Neverending Story (Falkor, G'Mork), his reputation as a legend would've been secure. But he was involved with so much else. If you grew up in the 80s and watched any cartoons, odds are you heard his voice more than you know. He had regular roles on The Smurfs (he was Vanity Smurf), Transformers, Wuzzles, The Original Ghostbusters, Centurions, Rambo, Bionic Six, BraveStarr, and so many more. On this episode, we chat about his early career, The Neverending Story, a soup-to-nuts discussion of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and that show's enduring legacy.
In this episode, Chris and Mark discuss how a Ghostbusters reject spawned a show that was years ahead of its time.
This episode is an epic master class in voice acting and the business of voice-over with the great Pat Fraley (Original TMNT, G.I. Joe, Scooby Doo, Bravestarr, and many many others) (www.patfraley.com) Pat shares his process, his tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience, and is friggin' hilarious while doing it. If you haven't studied with him, this episode gives you a taste of what its like. Inspiring, informative, and an episode to revisit before just about every audition. Pull out a notepad and pencil while listening to this one, y'all! Follow Pat on Twitter @PFraleyteaches
