Rob King returns to the podcast. He is a professor of film and media studies at Columbia University's School of the Arts. He is the author of "Hokum! The Early Sound Slapstick Short and Depression-Era Mass Culture" (2017) and "The Fun Factory: The Keystone Film Company and the Emergence of Mass Culture" (2009). And now Rob has a new book "Man of Taste: The Erotic Cinema of Radley Metzger" (Columbia University Press, 2025). We are joined by novelist Cathy Brown who has some background behind the camera in the adult film industry. https://youtu.be/9kvinUaOKKk Radley Metzger was one of the foremost directors of adult film in America, with credits including softcore titles like "The Lickerish Quartet" and the hardcore classic "The Opening of Misty Beethoven". After getting his start making arthouse trailers for Janus Films, Metzger would go on to become among the most feted directors of the porno chic 'era of the 1970s, working under the pseudonym Henry Paris. In the process, he produced a body of work that exposed the porous boundaries separating art cinema from adult film, softcore from hardcore, and good taste from bad. Rob King uses Metzger's work to explore what taste means and how it works, tracing the evolution of the adult film industry and the changing frontiers of cultural acceptability. "Man of Taste" spans Metzger's entire life: his early years in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood, his attempt to bring arthouse aesthetics to adult film in the 1960s, his turn to pseudonymously directed hardcore movies in the 1970s, and his final years, which included making videos on homeopathic medicine. Metzger's career, King argues, sheds light on how the distinction between the erotic and the pornographic is drawn, and it offers an uncanny reflection of the ways American film culture transformed during these decades.
Andy Scott and Barry Jones are joined by this week's special guests Joe Gallagher, Cathy Brown and Lesley Sackey. They preview Friday's unified welterweight title fight between Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price, with Gallagher stating Price was 'disrespectful' for not showing up to Tuesday's scheduled head-to-head face-off.Brown reflects on her distinguished career, which saw her win the European title, and discusses her incredible charity called HeadGuard.Meanwhile, former European gold medallist Sackey talks about her charity 'Fight Forward', which uses boxing as a tool to help women heal from trauma. They also review last weekend's controversies, which saw Gervonta Davis take a knee in his fight with Lamont Roach without it being ruled a knockdown and Paddy Donovan being disqualified for hitting Lewis Crocket after the bell at the end of the eighth round.
Talk about getting a legend on our show! Nina Hartley was on our 1/29/2025 show and quite a crowd we had. Nina talked about her career and about what she's been up to. She fielded all sorts of questions and it was an educational show to say the least and we went over the basic one hour time. We really thank Nina for taking the time to visit with our group and wish her many well wishes on her future. Visiting with Nina included: Richard Pacheco, Darby Dee, Lorenzo and Cathy Brown. Nina also shared that if you see ANY of her profiles on Facebook they are 100% scams because she is not there. She is on Twitter, Instagram, OnlyFans and StreamMate -- and please, do not fall for the fakes profiles.
Our guest for our 7/7/2024 was the legendary Tom Byron. After a few struggles, book and a relocation to the East Coast, we had the chance to have him on our show! Tom is also starting a new podcast as well, so we urge you to get in on that. It was a fun night with Tom who told many stories and we had a lot of laughs. Stopping by to chat with Tom included Christy Canyon, Richard Pacheco, Cathy Brown, Sean Elliot, Lorenzo and James Bartholet. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jizztalking/support

As some of you may or may not know, adult film star Eric Edwards wrote to me to tell me he was diagnosed with Dementia, a cruel condition that affects memory, thinking and/or may impair a person from performing day to day functions or activities. The road will be long, as we all know someone in our lives that has suffered with this. Eric wrote me in what would be described as "making the best out of it" by saying, "I'd like one last interview as I don't know how much longer I will be able to remember things." So, I gave him an easy date to remember, 24-24. So on 2/4/2024, we brought together some of his friends and we had a night that Eric can go back to from time to time with fond memories and watch this tribute. There were laughs, tears and memories shared with some great guests including Amber Lynn, Luc Wylder, Alexandria Silk, Veronica Hart, Lorenzo, Sean Elliot, Keli Richards, Richard Pacheco and Cathy Brown. A whole lot of other friends and fans joined us as well. I thank each and every one of you for coming out for the event. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jizztalking/support
Our 1/21/2024 Zoom Show is a special feature, dedicated to the authors who have written about their Adult Entertainment careers or who have had a hand in writing books for others in the Adult Entertainment arena. Recently, Cathy Brown wrote another book and we thought it was time to feature authors on our show. Cathy alone has had a hand in MANY books for adult stars and shares some of her secrets. Other authors on the show included Richard Pacheco, Mark Murray and Lisa Cintrice. They gave their insights and strategy in the world of book writing. Also joining us were Lorenzo and Bek's Pineapple, who gave us a quick review of the Krazy Winter Nights in Kearney, Nebraska! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jizztalking/support
Well, we battled Covid and dental work and a few other obstacles BUT we had Debbie Revenge with us for our 9/3/2023 Zoom Show. Debbie goes back in the business a few years so we had a lot of catching up to do with her. She also talked about her names change as "Debette" when she moved to the West Coast. I cannot say enough good things about the work she is doing today, at age 70, with the homeless population of Los Angeles. Joining us for the discussion were Casey Scott, Richard Pacheco, Lorenzo, Alan Adrian / John A. Mozzer, Cathy Brown and Sean Elliot. We also had a sad note as we reflected a bit on the life of Captain Jack Cannon aka Robert Aitken Jr as he passed way recently. Cathy Brown was only thirty-three, married with two young children aged six and eight when she was diagnosed with melanoma. After the tumours were examined, she was informed that she had two months to two years to live and that chemotherapy and radiotherapy were not an option. She was devastated. she wanted to see her children grow up. She wanted to travel and to live her life. Cathy shares how this diagnosis, this ‘event' challenged every belief she had ever had about life but ultimately guided her towards a significant transformation of her mind, body, and soul. She shares how she did not see herself as a ‘victim of cancer,' but that she could use this time to empower herself and start to live the life she had always dreamed. Thirty-five years later she is healthy and thriving in life. Cathy shares her journey, and I must say, it inspired me. You may not have the dreaded ‘C' but that makes your own struggles no less challenging or daunting. I am sure Cathy's story will provide you with inspiration and insights for your own life – as it did mine.

One Golden Age Legend that I've been "pestering" for a while to be on our Zoom Show is Kelly Nichols. At long last for our 7/2/2023 show, she made an appearance and what a great turnout for this classy lady! We talked about her beginnings, her work behind the camera and what she is up to today! We also talked a bit about her long time partner Cass Paley who sadly passed away in 2022, but The Cass Paley Memorial Service is linked here as well. Along to join us were Richard Pacheco, Sean Elliot, Lorenzo, Lisa Cintrice, Casey Scott, Cathy Brown, James Bartholet and Jose Duval. When you think of the Adult Entertainment Industry and its history, all roads lead back to basically two movies -- Deep Throat and The Devil In Miss Jones. Well, we had the privilege to have a chat with the son of the brainchild of those two movies, Gerald Damiano Junior on our 3/19/2023 Zoom Show. We talked about growing up with his father, Jerry and all that entailed, PLUS what he's doing now to honor the legacy of these movies. The podcast is long, but VERY well worth the history lesson that it contains. Eric Edwards, Sean Elliot, Richard Pacheco, Cathy Brown and Darby Dee were a part of things as well. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jizztalking/support
There was no better way to start out our 1/1/2023 Zoom Show than with our friend Karen Summer. It's no secret she's had some health care challenges in the past, but I wanted to make sure that we gave her some BIG TIME love heading into 2023. Along with our friends, we had special guests including Casey Scott, Cathy Brown, Darby Dee, Richard Pacheco, Jiggy Jaguar, Sean Elliot, James Bartholet and Herschel Savage. To say Karen was touched, would have been an understatement. There's still a Go Fund Me site set up for Karen. Nikki was JUST at Exxxotica in Washington DC and we talk about her new fans, her old fans and everything in between. A great turnout for this one that included Sean Elliot, Richard Pacheco, Eric Edwards on mute (dang), James Bartholet, Darby Dee and Cathy Brown. While some of the questions were broad and far reaching and some were just comments of being glad that Nikki was back on the scene. Shout outs to Christy Canyon for helping to line this up and a BIG shout out to Mike Horner for being a great guy that everyone worked with back in the day. Madea is back! After retiring the classic character in 2019, Tyler Perry has brought her back for A Madea Homecoming on Netflix. Perry is, of course, reprising the role of the title character, and is accompanied by longtime Madea players Cassi Davis-Patton, David Mann and Tamela Mann, as well as some exciting additions to the cast. The critics have already seen the movie, which is now available for streaming on Netflix, so let's check out what they have to say about Perry's newest movie. Tyler Perry told audiences to "get ready," as A Madea Homecoming features the extended family all coming together for the title character's great-grandson's college graduation. You can imagine drama quickly ensues as secrets start to come out, but Madea is determined not to let anything ruin the celebration. Tyler Perry's latest offering for Netflix, A Madea Homecoming, brings the family together for a celebration. For those familiar with the gruff grandma's roots on stage will recognize both the structuring and the casual combativeness of this family dynamic. For newcomers, it's an introduction to an established ensemble in a way that doesn't feel like it is leaving them out. But it's 2022, and when it comes to issues like theft of Black homes due to prohibitive property taxes (aka gentrification) and reallocation of tax dollars into programs that positively impact communities instead of police departments (aka defund the police), there's just no room for flippancy or slanted messaging. Perry's style smacks too much of stunted respectability politics and inserts the topics into the narrative in ways that "attack" the messenger and overly simplifies (or ignores) the message. Ultimately, Madea's 12th movie outing is nothing new and raises the question of whether coming out of retirement was a good call. A Madea Homecoming is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.I love all madea movies this one was gross and weird as hell. Bad jokes super mainstream. Worst tyler perry work, dont waste your time trying to watch its got weird. Makes me wanna never watch another tyler perry movie, the worse it gets just like this review basically just do not waste your time, i know he gets a lot of hate and i never thought he deserved it until now.★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Her last LIVE interview was on the Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder — and you'll have to watch the replay to find out why! On a holiday weekend such as we had on 5/30/2021, you never know who you will have on the show. For the Memorial Day Weekend Zoom Show, I thought Casey Scott would be the perfect person. We chatted with Casey about how he got his start in becoming interested in adult films and adult entertainment. Casey's favorite line is “I know where all the bodies are buried” and he does spill some tea on some of the performers who haven't been heard of in years. I also had a chance to read a heartfelt message from Sue Nero, a legend in the adult business who Casey has befriended and brought to shine. In fact, Casey has boosted her confidence up enough that I announced that she will do a PRIVATE SIGNING and items are due on 7/10/2021. Click this link to check it out! Personally, Casey has connected me with dozens of people that I knew existed, but chose to stay in the background — and I'm extremely grateful for that opportunity. Well, I for one cannot believe that it's been a year already!! Our 4/25/2021 Zoom Show was dedicated to those who have been with us for many, many weeks throughout the year and have made our world brighter. When I started out, it was to promote the Adult Entertainment Star (no matter what era) and maybe help them make a few extra bucks signing photos or promoting their OnlyFans or Skype Shows. After a year, it's turned out to be more of a Sunday night get together of friends and fans PLUS an interview show. Adult Entertainers who were among the celebration included Eric Edwards, Cathy Brown, Richard Pacheco, Sean Elliot, Lynn LeMay and James Bartholet who really gave us a good “real time” evaluation of the current climate in adult entertainment. We also spent a bit of time in reflection of the past year and connections that the group has made between fan and entertainer on a more personal level. A number of people reached out during the show to thank me for making these weekly Zoom shows possible. Richard Pacheco said more than once, “Patrick, you are building and growing something here.” I have to say, I hope that I am and one day I hope that people are going to be on my waiting list instead of the other way around. Time will tell and with your participation, I hope it is an industry recognized product. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
It's not everyday you have a true Golden Age LEGEND stop by our Zoom sessions, but on 4/18/2021, we were fortunate enough to have the one and only Annie Sprinkle stop by and chat with us. Among the Adult Entertainment Stars who stopped by to chat included: Richard Pacheco, Eric Edwards, Sean Elliot, Cathy Brown and Jose Duval. Richard Pacheco wrapped up the show with a very touching monologue on what Annie has meant to the industry and to others. It's worth watching, so watch until the end. We went back in time with Veronica Vera on our 4/11/2021 show! Veronica was a Golden Age Film Star from the early 80's through the late 80's. From her work in the “Club 90” era along with Sue Nero, Kelly Nichols, Gloria Leonard, Annie Sprinkle, Veronica Hart and Candida Royalle to her other endeavors in the world of Adult Entertainment, Veronica told stories of her first movie “Consenting Adults” and other great titles. Though she didn't have a lot of film credits, she was a contributor in so many other areas. Two fitting tributes came from Richard Pacheco and Lynn LeMay, both having the utmost respect for the work that Veronica has done. Along with Richard and Lynn, co-star Jose Duval was in attendance as well as Eric Monti, Cathy Brown and Sean Elliot. Don't forget to check out Veronica's Blog called, “Veronica Vera – Now & Then” and her website called, “Miss Vera's Finishing School.” We thank Veronica for being with us for this great night of history! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
We were honored to have Kay Parker join us on our 3/14/2021 show and the crowd came out! Both Adult Entertainers and fans of Kay's work came out for this show that dug deeper than her iconic “Taboo” movie. Kay talked to us about her work with Spirit Guides and that she does have a book for sale at www.KayTaylorParker.com called “Taboo: Sacred, Don't Touch” which is available in many formats from her site. While we are plugging books, it was an honor to have Richard Pacheco read from his book, “Hindsight: True Love & Mischief In The Golden Age Of Porn” which is available at www.hindsightbook.com regarding the meaning of Kay Parker in his life. Other Adult Entertainers who were in the room included Herschel Savage, Sean Elliot, Eric Monti and Cathy Brown and all had a story or reflection of Kay's life and career to tell. One of the most requested stars of the Golden Age of Adult Entertainment for our Zoom Shows has been the one and only Paul Thomas. Even though PT had some resistance to appearing, he did appear on our 3/7/2021 show and EVERYONE came by to say HI. Paul often quotes Groucho Marx when saying, “I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member” but it was great to have him on nonetheless as he did fill in for Billy Dee, who we will have on down the road. We talked about his career in front of and behind the camera and some projects he's working on now including his golf game. A true history lesson on this show as many stars came out to share a story or a memory. The fellow Adult Stars who came out to participate included: Eric Monti, Herschel Savage, Micky Lynn, Melissa Hill, Cathy Brown, Jose Duval, Sean Elliot, Jon Martin, Keli Richards, Eric Edwards, Richard Pacheco and Raven Touchstone — a Who's Who of the adult industry! Again we thank Paul Thomas for his generosity of time as we went over the one hour mark with a lot of great questions and stories. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
Whenever you can get a member of the “old guard” to come onto the Zoom Show, it's a great thing, because that means you are going to have others from that era like moths to a lightbulb. With that, the Zoom Show is more of a gathering of old friends and stories — and that's what really makes the show. The 2/28/2021 Zoom Show did not disappoint in that area. Stories were told and memories were relived thanks to some of the other adult stars of the era who popped on to say HI. Among the adult stars who stopped by to say hi where Richard Pacheco, Eric Monti, Herschel Savage, Sean Elliot, Cathy Brown and Sharon Mitchell who added some “adult entertainment” into the mix with her nude tango in her kitchen. If you noticed a part where nobody said a word, that's when the nude tango was taking place. Rob talked about getting her on the Howard Stern Show and making her FAMOUS!! (We'll have to have Rob on his own ZOOM in the months to come.) He's a veteran of the Adult Entertainment industry and has pretty much worked with everyone over the years. It was nice to see the stars come out to see what Mike has been up to as well. Joining us tonight on Mike's VERY FIRST Zoom Call was Eric Edwards, Eric Monti, Sean Elliot, Cathy Brown and Jose Duval. It was great to catch up with Mike and hear what he's been up to. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
What do Cathy Brown, Eric Monti, Richard Pacheco, Eric Edwards, Jose Duval, Sean Elliot, Herschel Savage and Christy Canyon have in common? Well they all came out to experience the Hyapatia Lee Zoom Show on 1/3/2021 — the first show of the year! She discussed everything from her Native Strength YouTube Channel and her roles in Adult Films. In addition to all of the guests, we had Joey from Australia and Tara from Canada on the call as well, which speaks volumes about the star power that Hyapatia brings to the table. Besides chatting with Hyapatia, we paid tribute to Carter Stevens who passed away on 12/30/2020. They have established a Go Fund Me Page for final expenses and would invite anyone who can, to help them out. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
When it comes to Zoom Sessions that just click, you have to focus on this one for sure. Our guest on 12/20/2020 was Sean Elliot and while a quick glance at his movie roster shows anywhere from 8 – 12 movies, the experiences he had have made up a lifetime of memories. While Sean is quick to point out that he couldn't remember what he had for lunch, he DID remember a lot about his time in the Adult Industry. The stars he worked with were mostly all AVN Hall of Fame Stars and if they aren't, they should be. Other Adult Stars on hand for the show included Cathy Brown, Eric Monti, Jose Duval, Micky Lynn and a special visit from Richard Pacheco. Another session that went over the time limit, but well worth it, you will enjoy as well.Click to watch the video! Click to hear the audio! Edit Copyright © 2021 Welcome To Jizz Talking! Lynn LeMay joined us on 12/13/2020 during the height of the Covid Pandemic from her home in South Dakota! After a little arm twisting, she embraced the Zoom idea and we are glad she did. The crowd was standing room only and included family members, fans, NEW participants to the show and other legends. The Adult Entertainers who stopped by included Kat Kleevage, Eric Monti, Sean Elliot, Richard Pacheco, Cathy Brown and Jon Martin. She told stories, shared secrets and the best part was that stories and secrets were told about her too. A fun time with Lynn LeMay and if you want more fun, contact her about a private Skype Show! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
Now whether you know Cathy Brown by her real name of Cathy Brown or her pen names of Ariel Hart or Pearl Chavez it was time to get her on our Zoom Show for a Q & A and to get the lowdown on some of the folks in the business. An author with Jerry Butler for the book, “Raw Talent,” a writer for various magazines, a writer of many screen plays, and even a writer for phone sex scripts, Cathy has worn a LOT of hats. Joining Cathy on the show were Jose Duval, Richard Pacheco and Eric Monti. This was more than just an interview with a writer, this was a history lesson, so be prepared to be schooled on this 11/15/2020 show! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
There probably isn't a more genuine person in the adult entertainment business than Veronica Hart. Adult Star, Director, Producer — however Mentor and Friend come into play when people describe her. On 10/18/2020 we had a rescheduled visit from Veronica and she did not disappoint. Fans from 3 countries were on the show along with a plethora of former adult stars — including Eric Edwards, Scott Schwartz, Cathy Brown, Eric Monti, Jose Duval and Richard Pacheco. It was a great night of conversation, so great in fact we went over our 1 hour timeframe and we thank Veronica for being patient with us. This was by far the most watched show we have ever had on replay, more than 250 people saw it during the week after it was recorded. A true legend — enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
For this show on 10/4/2020 I went on location — YES, all the way to near Portland, Oregon to the home of Miss Sharon Mitchell. My wife and I stayed at her home as her guest for several days and one of them just happened to be a Sunday. When asked about a live Zoom Show, her words to me were, “Abso-fucking-lutely!” I will say this was one of the most attended sessions we have ever done, with over 30 people stopping by to watch or participate. Adult stars who came to pay tribute read like a who's who and included Eric Edwards, Jon Martin, Eric Monti, Cathy Brown, Jose Duval and Sean Elliot. Sharon talks about the “good old days” and a bit of what she's up to today. A special thanks to Sharon for opening up her home to us. (Full disclosure: One of the participants was edited out of this final cut due to the nature of his content and has been banned from future interaction with the group.) --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
Eric Monti came BACK to do a formal show with us on 9/6/2020 where he had more names, facts and figures and we did more of an in-depth interview. As always Eric talked about many of his on screen partners and the trials and tribulations of being an adult star. We appreciate Eric taking time out to come back and give us a “re-do” on his first Zoom Show. We were honored that Cathy Brown, Jose Duval and Rick Savage offered input about Eric's career as well! We are grateful that he joins us most every week on our shows. Enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
Whether you know him as John A. Mozzer, John Mozzer, Alan Adrian, Spike Adrian or Naked John — there's only one! An adult film star of the late 70's through the 80's John is also avid in photo and video archives, PLUS his collection of recorded phone conversations during his career as well. If there was one thing call forwarding was meant for, it was to keep people ringing his number, be it on the East Coast or the West Coast. During this time, John also recorded most calls and he has archived them on his JAM Works Presents YouTube Channel and his archived photos at JAM Works on SmugMug. John is joined on 8/30/2020 by other adult stars Jose Duval, Cathy Brown, Sean Elliot and Eric Monti. Stick around for the ending as EVERYONE wants to be Naked John! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support
Cathy Brown, Ruth Castellino and Laura Ramsay are elite squash players and women of a certain age. In an extremely intense and physically demanding sport, each of these women displays strength, mental toughness, modesty and a beautiful camaraderie. We catch up with Cathy, Ruth and Laura to hear their inspiring story. Beer seems to be an important ingredient in a good squash game!
Back in the day when people went to Adult Movie Theaters in major cities and the marquees were lit with X-Rated movie titles, you may have seen this young man on the blue screen along side John Leslie, Jamie Gillis or Marilyn Chambers! On 6/28/2020 Richard Pacheco joined our Zoom Show and boy did we have a turn out of stars to check up on this guy. Eric Edwards, Eric Monti, Cathy Brown and Herschel Savage all came out to chat it up and have some fun with Richard. It was a great night and you may want to replay this one several times — enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support

Cathy was adopted at an early age, her natural parents were too young to bring her up, so her biological mother was banished from her home in Scotland to a convent in Leeds until Cathy was born, as it was shameful in the 1970's to bring a child up out of wedlock. After her birth Cathy was put into Catholic Care orphanage until she was chosen by her adoptive parents, who took her to Durham. She was raised in Lanchester, Durham until she left home to study photography at eighteen for four years and to escape an abusive relationship, she then moved to London to pursue her photographic career as a Forensic Photographer in 1992, of which she worked until 1998.Soon after moving South she began Kickboxing as a hobby and to give her internal strength and confidence that she lacked after being in an abusive relationship, only to be so good that after just three months her trainer suggested that she entered her first competition. She was hooked immediately and proved to be a natural and was undefeated in twenty-five fights, winning two British Titles. She wanted to have a deeper understanding of the way her body moved and worked to make her a better athlete, so studied for a Diploma in Sports Massage therapy and gained a YMCA Personal Trainer qualification whilst working full time as a Forensic Photographer. After six years competing in Kick Boxing, Cathy was approached by a Professional Boxing Promoter and she applied to the British Boxing Board of Control for her Professional Boxers License, they accepted as they recognized her talent and she became only the second woman in the UK to hold a Professional Boxing license. She loved the sport's fierce competition and its tough training, and was determined to be the best, so she gave up her job with the Metropolitan Police and became a personal trainer at The Third Space Gym (www.thethirdspace.com) so that she could dedicate more time to her training. Within a year she won the European Flyweight Title, and after ten years and twenty-one Professional fights, she became the first ever British female to win a Professional English Title in sporting history and became ranked number three in the World within the Flyweight division. She conquered intense sexism whilst trying to be the best in the World and she says her biggest fight was outside the ring trying to get into the ring but it gave her even more determination to follow her dream.Highly attractive with a charismatic personality, 5' 1” Cathy looks more suited to the glamorous world of modelling and TV than the boxing ring but her non-stop aggressive fighting-style and fierce determination made her a genuine world title contender. She competed for WBC, WIBF, WBF World Titles, WIBF, GBU and WBU International Titles in Germany, Italy and Hungary in three different weight divisions: Light Flyweight, Flyweight and Bantamweight. But unfortunately had to retire in 2007 due to neural damage in her neck, it broke her heart to have to stop doing a sport she loved, but she carried on furthering her knowledge of strength, conditioning, sports psychology for athletes and cognitive behaviour therapy to enable her to help others achieve their aspirations. Cathy is a true inspiration for mental, physical strength and motivation as she has conquered a lot of hurdles in her life, she is currently a personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, professional boxing and kick boxing coach and cognitive behaviour therapist at The Third Space Gym. She has participated in a diverse range of challenges other than Boxing including sailing across the Atlantic in a World record attempt with Emma Richards and took part in a 120km running and climbing race in the Verdon Canyon, France to raise money for SPARKS charity.Cathy has worked with REFUGE charity to help victims of Domestic Violence as she finds it extremely rewarding to help advance people consciously, and she is proud to get people to look in the mirror and see how much they can and have achieved mentally and physically. She has worked with the MENTAL HEALTH FOUNDATION as she wanted to raise awareness of the great impact that exercise and well being has on a positive and strong mental state, as she has experienced the first hand positive effects. She uses her life experiences and training as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to help individuals become stronger mentally and physically and currently runs EMPOWERING WOMEN workshops, speeches and presentations. Cathy currently is an ambassador for THE LOTUS FLOWER charity on a Worldwide ‘Boxing Sisters” project (see THE CHARITY WORKER page). She has also worked as a movement director on Music videos, Operas, Adverts and TV shows helping performers with their get into relevant psychological mind sets and specific physical movement. And is constantly in the media as an expert, coverage on the charity work she does.In 2015 Cathy teamed up with professional boxing coach Greg Williams and foundered Boxology® Academy. They run boxing education courses; Boxology® Round 1 and Round 2, aimed at personal trainers, sports coaches, martial art and boxing coaches, to teach correct pad holding and boxing techniques. All courses are endorsed by ActiveIQ, CIMSPA and British Boxing Board of Control.Cathy Brown Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/cathybrownboxer/Cathy Brown website : https://www.cathybrown.co.uk/Haircuts4Homeless : https://www.haircuts4homeless.com/Produced by : https://svnty6production.com/Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/hear-me-see-me. Cathy Brown is a dynamic business leader with years of experience in creating an organisational culture focused on people and leadership. The post Cathy Brown on Show #150: Evaluating Your Role appeared first on POWER to Live More.
With a love of people, processes and numbers, though Cathy Brown started life as an accountant, she has found her calling as a mortgage broker. From the early days of smashing out long hours and driving all over town, Cathy has restructured her business to fit around her life all while leveraging processes, technology and an off-shore team to deliver exceptional client outcomes. Like many a broker, Cathy found it difficult to relinquish control but has found that with continual & effective communication, she can empower, upskill and support her team to take as much ownership over the delivery of service so her time can be spent on clients appointments and acquiring new business. Cathy would be the first to admit that having an offshore team has provided both challenges and new learning opportunities for her. In particular, the proximity of distance has forced her to improve her communication skills so her team understand the ‘why' and the ‘what', not just the ‘how'. Moreover, in her downtime, she can also tweak processes and system so they continue to stay relevant and enable her and the team to deliver on exceptional client experience. Recently I spoke the shows creative team Brendan O’Carroll plays the title role of the outspoken Mrs Agnes Brown and his charming and talented wife Jennifer Gibney who plays his daughter Cathy Brown on the show.To say that the smash BBC hit comedy Mrs. Brown’s Boys is a different type of a sitcom is like saying President Donald Trump could teach a class in humility. Now airing in the United States on Britbox, Mrs. Brown’s Boys is a slap you in your face comedy with that demands your attention and it well worth the slap. There is nothing subtle about the show which makes it work and why it has so many loyal fans. Think of Mrs. Doubtfire meets Archie Bunker but as strange as it sounds Mrs. Brown’s Boys works. For those who read Apple News be sure to check out our Stream On with Jim Williams column three times a week.Just search us out and subscribe for free and we will keep you updated on the latest in streaming video news from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. So, check out Stream On with Jim Williams on Apple News today! Today I have two very special people on the podcast to talk about Fighting for Joy with Friendship! They are my dearest friends Cathy Brown (my guest on Episode #2) and Kathy Craig. They came to Nebraska for a girls weekend in September and I just knew that we needed to record an episode together on this theme while they were here. We talk about everything from prayer, to the Voxer app, to raising girls, to leaning on each other's faith during dark seasons of life. We even chat about the importance of encouraging one another to foster deep friendships with other women. So listen in as we share about various aspects of our 30 year friendship and how it has been a great help for all three of us as we continue to fight for joy. I hope it encourages you in your own friendships as this is such a practical tool to implement.

Are your people really giving their best? Possibly the most fundamental issue impacting productivity today is a lack of engagement. This is such an issue that within my own business we are determined to help address the problem. I am therefore absolutely delighted to welcome ‘Engage For Success' who have created the voluntary movement promoting employee engagement in the UK. Their aim is that everyone working in the UK should want, and be able, to give their best each day, so that each day is a great day at work, and that workplaces in the UK are thriving, growing and developing through the commitment, energy, and creativity of the people that work in them. My guest Cathy Brown is Executive director for Engage for Success, and passionately believes that helping people find a better way to work can make a big difference to people's lives, their organisations and ultimately to the country.

The Engage for Success Radio Show has been running for almost three years now. We had a Christmas Show at the end of the first year we were broadcasting but not last year, so we are doing something special this year. This was inspired by a 'morris dancing team building event' that Cathy Brown's partner donated to us (Cathy is an avid morris dancer!). And during our first year we interviewed Andrea Callanan from Sing and Inspire, talking about how they use singing to engage employees and why it is such a great tool to build team relationships, improve communication and motivate staff. And they have kindly agreed to help us out with this festive show. We will spend an hour rehearsing a couple of Christmas songs, in harmony - no unison singing here! And then, after a short break, we will perform live on our radio show at 5.30pm!
Talking to Cathy Brown ex Professional female boxer about Training, sports mental heath and retiring from professional sport.

Cathy was recently appointed as the new Exec Director for Engage for Success. That same blog has a video that she recorded to talk about, what we are affectionately calling, her 'manifesto', the content of a presentation that she gave at her final interview for the role, all about her thoughts and plans for the role and the movement moving forwards. Join us as we talk about the next phase of the movement moving further into 2015 and beyond. Host: Jo Dodds
