James was really over being in Florida, until one of our closest friends said he was coming to St. Pete (not to be confused with St. Petersburg, because as we've found out there IS a difference)! Suddenly, James was singing a different tune and we were strolling through the Dali Museum and exploring everything this little beach town had to offer. We also found ourselves arguing at-length over what impact remote work has truly had on St. Pete. James wins that argument in the end. Anyway, we weren't done there. Naples was just a few hours south and Denise's friends who left Chicago for the Paradise Coast showed us a roaring good time. We sipped champagne on a tiki boat, tried every restaurant we could on Fifth Ave. and Denise found beginner's luck at Pelican Bay Country Club on her first golf outing, ever! Finally, we wrapped up our road trip with a stop in Fort Myers to see James' family in a visit that was long overdue. 360 Video Promotion Last week Howie and I went to the Dali Museum to see the 360 display Jen Leon had told us about.  It was 3 chairs, in front of 3 screens, powered by 3 Alienware computers.  I think the headsets were Oculus but they may have been HTC Vives.  They had people lined up about 15 deep when the door opened to see a 3 minute virtual reality game type experience of one of Dali's paintings.  You could zoom around from one perspective to another along w/ sound effects, changing lighting, etc.  We paid almost 70.00 to visit the museum, just to see what this 360 VR set up looked like.   After watching countless reviews and reading lots of articles I purchased the HTV Vive Pro and the Oculus Go, which just came out on May 1.  I've asked Randall Munsters if he can upgrade our iMacs to run the Pro and the Go is completely untethered but it only has a 2 hour battery life.    I woke up this morning, thanking God for all the blessings I've experienced lately, such as an animal protection NGO in Guatemala crediting my 2011 video of the Circos Rey Gitano for being the deciding factor in their congress banning circus acts that use wild animals.   Now we are working with those in Guatemala to rescue the 50-70 lions and tigers that have been abandoned by the circuses there.   During the prayer, I received the divine inspiration to capitalize on this 360 craze with URLs that would redirect to our content.  That would make it easier for us to send people to those videos without having to say, “Go to YouTube.com/BigCatRescue or YouTube.com/DailyBigCat and then search for our 360 playlist...”  I sent the following email to LaWanna.Mitchell, Afton.Tasler and Brittany.Mira:   360 footage is getting a huge boost on Facebook due to them putting out the Oculus Go at $199.00 which finally makes it affordable for most homes.  We are getting 5-6 times more views on 360 on FB right now over flat video.   To capitalize on that I bought these URLs:   360cat.tv points to a list of our Facebook 360 videos   360bigcat.com points to our main YouTube playlist of 360 videos   360bigcats.com points to our DailyBigCat YouTube playlist of 360 videos   Hi, I'm Carole Baskin and I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views.  These are my views and opinions. If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story.  The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/   I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story.  My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet.     You can help feed the cats at no cost to you using Amazon Smile! Victoria-Rose Supper wears many hats as a social media strategist, publicist and musician and fully enjoys taking on more interests when she decides to accept her quirkiness as her strength.  Join me in this episode of Someone Gets Me — What Happens When You Accept Being A Gifted Adult ▶️ Key points covered in this episode:  ✔️ Music is the easiest and the most honest way to connect with the world. Victoria shares her journey to knowing herself and how songs and melody became an outlet of her genius and a gift of healing.   ✔️ When you try and put yourself into a box -- that is such a lonely experience.  When we try to fit ourselves into something that we are not, we have to deny a part of us to do that, which is trying to cut off an arm and pretend we still have two. We're trained in society to follow and always ensure to be "coloring inside the lines". We see later in life that we don't need it.  ✔️  If you don't take a break, your body will take a break for you.  Give yourself time, flexibility, grow and love yourself through the process.  ✔️  What part of you do you continue to deny? Teach yourself to honor your body, mind and heart. Start living the life you are meant to live by embracing yourself fully. About Victoria-Rose Building people up has been a life-long passion of Victoria-Rose's, whether it's through music, in the classroom, or telling their stories on the internet.  She's been lucky enough to get to work with brands and public figures like Dianne A. Allen, With Understanding Comes Calm, the Dali Museum, Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater, and Clearwater Marine Aquarium as a social media strategist and publicist - but her biggest passion lies in music.  Having begged her parents to let her take piano at the age of five, Victoria-Rose decided from a very young age that music would always be a major part of her life. Although she predominantly performs as an atmospheric pianist, you can also find her playing in the orchestra pit and singing onstage in various theatres across the Tampa Bay Area.  While not managing social media accounts or making music, Victoria-Rose can be found learning coding for kicks, browsing local bookstores, planning theatre experiences, sampling local tea rooms, and wandering the streets of Downtown St. Pete. Interviews by Brainard Carey

Judith Page was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and studied art at the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University. Early influences were her father, an amateur historian, photographer, and raconteur, who instilled in her a love and respect for history and the creative process, and writers such as Flannery O’Connor and Carson McCullers who provided her with many potent visual images. Other early influences include the Roman historian Tacitus and the politician Cassius Clay. Page says that her "art emerges from a Gothic sensibility, a place where horror and beauty exist in close proximity, where innocence encounters depravity, where the spirit is consumed and revived from moment to moment.” Page lived and worked in Florida until relocating to New York City in 1992, and currently lives in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. She received individual artist grants from the Gottlieb Foundation, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the State of FL. Exhibitions include Pop Surrealism and The Photograph as Canvas, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum and Disarming Beauty: The Venus de Milo in 20th Century Art, Dali Museum, and solo exhibitions at Luise Ross Gallery, New York, NY; Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC; Massry Center for the Arts, Albany, NY; Lesley Heller Gallery, New York, NY and Stetson University, DeLand, FL. Known for her inventive use of materials and stimulating social commentary, Page’s numerous exhibitions and installation projects were written about in Art Papers, Sculpture, The New York Times, Art on Paper, and Art in America. Page’s art is represented in numerous public collections including Vanderbilt University; FSU Museum of Fine Arts, Tallahassee; University of KY Art Museum; Mint Museum of Art; University of TN; University of Iowa Museum of Art; and Orlando Museum of Art, FL. She was on the General Fine Arts faculty of MICA from 2004-2011 and on the faculty of the MFA Fine Arts program at SVA from 2010-2016. Her website is www.judithpage.com. In this episode, I’m going to be speaking with one of the hardest working human beings to ever step into the world of poker, Jennifer Shahade.Jennifer has a list of credits, accomplishments, and accolades that most people could only dream of achieving and she doesn’t appear to be anywhere close to stopping anytime soon. Before poker, she first showed her impressive talent for strategic games in the world of chess. She became a National Master at the age of 16 and was the first female to win the US Junior Open. She has won two US Chess Women’s Championship titles as well as a silver Olympic medal.Jennifer is currently the Women’s Program Director at US Chess, acting as an Ambassador, host, and fundraiser. She’s also a board member at the World Chess Hall of Fame and hosts Grand Chess Tour events with top players all over the world. In addition to being the author of two books about the game of chess, Chess Bitch: Women in the Intellectual Sport and Play Like a Girl: Tactics by 9 Queens, she also hosts the Ladies Knight — that’s knight with a K — chess podcast. She’s also, of course, made a name for herself in poker, currently working as the MindSports Ambassador at PokerStars. To name just a few of the highlights from her poker career, she took down the Open Face Poker championship in Prague — a tournament she hadn’t even planned to play in — she made it down to the final four of the PokerStars-sponsored winner-take-all Shark Cage, and became the first female coach at Run It Once, where she put together poker strategy videos from 2014 to 2018.She also hosts her own poker podcast, “The Grid” where she discusses a specific Hold’em starting hands with a different guest in each episode. Her goal is to go through the entire grid of 169 possible starting hands. At the time of this interview, there are 21 episodes sitting and waiting for you to listen to.She’s also given a TedX talk in Baltimore, guest lectures at MIT, Yale, and her alma mater, NYU, and speeches at the Philadelphia Art Museum, Dali Museum, and Oakland Museum of Contemporary Art.As if all of that weren’t enough, she and her husband also work together to create fantastic art pieces that have been featured in such places as the Boston Sculptors Gallery, Contemporary Museum in Saint Louis, the Dali Museum, and the Francis Naumann Art Gallery. As you’ve probably guessed by now, Jennifer’s a grade A certified badass and just reading her list of accomplishments makes me feel like a lazy bum in comparison. The opportunity to hear her words, advice, wisdom, and warnings are invaluable. So once again, this is Brad Wilson, and without any further ado here’s my conversation with the amazing Jennifer Shahade on Chasing Poker Greatness.

Today's Guest: Frank Morsani, businessman, philanthropist, author, To Be Frank: Building the American Dream in Business and Life   Watch this exclusive Mr. Media interview with Frank Morsani by clicking on the video player above!  Mr. Media is recorded live before a studio audience full of automobile dealers who still pine for the return of Joe Isuzu… in the NEW new media capital of the world… St. Petersburg, Florida! Frank Morsani is one of the finest men, bar none, with whom I’ve ever had the pleasure to spend time. That’s noteworthy because I got to know the Tampa Bay auto dealer at one of the lowest points in his business career, yet he always held his head high. Somewhere around 1989, I started working on my first nonfiction book, Stadium For Rent, the story of Tampa Bay’s decades-long – and enormously frustrating – quest for a Major League Baseball team. FRANK MORSANI podcast excerpt: “I think it’s pathetic (that Donald Trump is the GOP standard bearer). It’s a tragedy on our system." You can LISTEN to this interview with Tampa automobile dealer and philanthropist FRANK MORSANI, author of TO BE FRANK, by clicking the audio player above! Many local business leaders had risen up and been cut to pieces by the ongoing, Quixotic mission, none more memorably than Frank Morsani. He committed and lost millions of dollars trying to convince a string of existing baseball teams to relocate to Tampa – and later, St. Petersburg – to no avail. When MLB announced, in 1993, that it would add two expansion franchises, he seemed a shoe-in. He wasn’t. But you know what made it all the worse? Frank Morsani wasn’t then – and certainly isn’t now – a baseball fan. He was just a kid from Oklahoma who had found a home in Tampa, Florida, a community that welcomed him – loved him, frankly – and if baseball was what his adopted neighbors wanted, he wanted to help them get it. For a lot of people the Morsani story began and ended with car dealerships and baseball. FRANK MORSANI podcast excerpt: "Unfortunately, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has taken a lot of positions that I would have problems with. They've been aggressive; I believe in being aggressive. But I think they have gotten away from some of the basics that were important to me (when I was Chairman of the Board). In our whole nation, these extremists on both sides are not in our best interests." But this kind and gentle soul – and his wife of more than half a century, Carol – have meant so much more to their community, thanks to philanthropic efforts that have included giving millions to the University of South Florida, University of Tampa, Tampa’s Straz Center for the Performing Arts, and the Dali Museum. Most recently, the Morsanis gave $20 million to USF for construction of the Morsani College of Medicine soon to rise in downtown Tampa. Morsani – with the help of my friend Dave Scheiber – just published his memoir, To Be Frank: Building the American Dream in Business and Life. It is my great pleasure to help introduce the man and his message to a new audience. Key interview moments: • 8:25 Frank Morsani talks about how he picked himself up following his failure to land a Major League Baseball relocation or expansion franchise for the Tampa Bay area in the 1990s; • 13:55 s a former Chairman of the Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Morsani admits he has problems with many of the organization’s current political stances; • 15:45 And as a lifelong Republican, Morsani calls the party’s turn to Donald Trump as its presidential nominee as “pathetic” and “a tragedy."
