This week on the podcast, Shawn and Ishita welcome special guest Shawna Lawson for a timely conversation in honour of National AccessAbility Week, taking place this year from May 25 to June 1. Together, they explore the importance of this national initiative and the critical need for ongoing efforts toward disability inclusion in all areas of society. Shawna brings a unique dual perspective to the conversation, not only as President of the Blind Beginnings Board of Directors, but also as co-founder of Inclusive Experiences, a company that supports organizations in making their spaces and services more accessible. The discussion highlights a recent grant that's enabling Blind Beginnings to expand its Blindness 101 awareness workshops across Canada, helping to educate the public and shift perceptions of blindness and disability. They also dive into the power of lived experience in facilitating workshops and how personal storytelling and real-world insight can spark meaningful change. Julia spoke with Ishita Bhama - who is a clairvoyant, healer and medium. She started feeling and seeing auras when she was just a child. Building wealth with real estate often starts with a small idea and grows into something much bigger. Harshad and Ishita's journey began with renting out their basement, which led to renting out a room in their home—and before they knew it, they were covering their mortgage with rental income. But when it comes to short-term rentals, it's about more than just a place to stay—it's about creating unforgettable experiences. That's why I'm so excited to have Harshad and Ishita on the show. These two entrepreneurs are shaking things up in the short-term rental space by putting design and guest experience at the forefront. In today's episode, we're diving into their incredible journey, how they rapidly scaled their portfolio, and their approach to creating spaces that guests rave about. Plus, we'll talk about their experience navigating Hurricane Helene and what's next for their business. Tune in for a conversation that shows how thoughtful design and a guest-first mentality can transform a rental property into a thriving business. Microaggressions are actions or behaviors that highlight the difference between the sighted and the blind or partially sighted communities, often perpetuating stereotypes. They discuss the intersectionality of elements such as culture or age and visual impairment, and share their personal experiences before turning the conversation towards the importance of setting boundaries, communicating needs, and finding genuine relationships.

Overview We dive into the topic of informed decision-making. Our guest today is Ishita Majumdar from eBay, who will be sharing her insights on the top three areas that lead to informed decision-making. According to Ishita , the top three areas that lead to informed decision-making are experimentation, customer 360, and internal business analysis. Experimentation involves testing hypotheses and gathering data to inform decisions. Customer 360 involves a complete understanding of the customer, including their needs, preferences, and behaviors. Internal business analysis involves analyzing internal data to identify opportunities for improvement. She then provides an example of how she does experimentation at eBay. Moving on to optimizing the customer 360 experience, Ishita suggests that it is important to collect as much data as possible about the customer, including demographic information, purchase history, and feedback. She suggests using this data to create personalized experiences for customers and to anticipate their needs. Finally, Ishita discusses how to effectively influence the business to make data-driven decisions internally. It's one of the oldest forms of human expression: painting. And for as long as human beings have been creating, they've also looked on as other people created art and thought to themselves: “Hey, I can do that too!” So where do we draw the line -- or paint it -- between inspiration and appropriation? On this episode of Stroke of Genius, host Raha Francis is joined by a mixed-media artist from Montreal, Canada, who's had the unfortunate experience of discovering her own work being sold online without her permission. Ishita Banerjee, aka SoulCurryArt, says she was never taught about intellectual property in art school, so she's now taken it upon herself to educate both her fellow artists and consumers of fine art about the ins and outs of IP protection for creatives. As you'll hear, the IP system can benefit artists in a number of ways -- and Ishita also has thoughts on the role of NFTs and the blockchain in providing additional protection for artists. You can learn more about copyright by visiting IPOEF.org/behindtheidea or by watching this video. Check out Ishita Banerjee and see her collection of “Mad Men Modern” art on her website or on Etsy. She's also a great follow on Instagram. Her experience of having art stolen and sold online has picked up some media coverage. To ensure the art you're buying is authentic, there are plenty of resources online, including this article. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

#229 In this episode, I had the immense privilege of chatting with Ishita Sharma. It's difficult to put into words what she does for people. She is a modern mystic, holding space for life in all of its abundant complexity, from the highest joys and miracles to the deepest suffering and sorrows. She was born in Haridwar, India, and grew up in the Garhwal Himalayas. Eventually, she came to the US to study as a physicist, but turned to architecture and design practice, evolving into a multidisciplinary artist working with paint and sculpture. Through it all, she felt that she was looking for an even deeper framework to explain what felt obvious to her: that we are all connected. Today, Ishita works with contemporary visionaries and spiritual seekers to create futures that are free of past limitations. After coming into a profound shift in her consciousness, Ishita recognized that the answer she was seeking wasn't out there, waiting to be discovered in some corner of the world. It lies inside each and every one of us. We are all already whole. Tune in as we explore the mechanics of anchoring into presence and noticing our habits of attention to become more skilled at navigating our relationship with ourselves, others, and nature. About Ishita Sharma: Ishita Sharma serves as a mentor, mirror and activator to those who wish to better our world, starting within. Her students and clients include spiritual seekers and teachers, CEOs and scientists, therapists and coaches, visionaries and artists, parents and children, spouses and colleagues…She points every one of them back to their center. Drawing on a unique ability to attune to her clients' nervous systems, Ishita guides confusion into clarity and felt-sense safety. Her incisive approach is grounded in spacious loving connection. It integrates non-dual awareness with embodiment, subtle energetics and relational dynamics to free the core of personal and systemic hindrances. Contending that the future of humanity hinges upon healing division within and between us, she supports individuals and groups alike to wake up, step up and show up together in service of a world that truly nourishes us all. Born in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas, now living in North Carolina with her American husband, Ishita draws on the confluence of cultures, paradigms and dimensions- marrying western intellect and eastern spirituality through the wisdom of the human heart and body. Giving back lies at the heart of Come to Center. Ishita serves on the Board of Directors of the Bridgeway Group, focused on peace-building in conflict zones worldwide, and as a member of Nurse Groups, providing resilience support for nurses on the front lines. 1-3% of Come to Center's yearly profits support humanitarian efforts including Free the Slaves, dedicated to freeing the world's 27 million captives out of bonded slavery, and directly to homeless and forgotten people in the places she calls home. Continuing my celebration with past guests are Joel Monk (founder of Coaches Rising) and Ishita Sharma (founder of Come to Center). Coaches Rising is an amazing resource for practitioners who are working to evolve the field of coaching, exploring how to show up for our clients with deep questions, presence, openness. And Ishita is a faculty member for one of their more recent programs, The Power of Presence. Our conversation centers around the questions: What is presence, and why does it matter? Why did Joel decide to build a whole program around presence? Why is presence the difference that makes the difference? The three of us play in that space in an attempt to be present with each other, to let go of a particular agenda for this conversation, and laugh, share, and learn from each other.NOTE: In the last 15 minutes or so, Ishita invites you as the listener to get in touch with a moment where you really felt in flow or felt most like yourself. When that moment comes, prepare yourself to pause and really get into your mind and body and evoke that experience. And when you press play again, listen to the way we use that invitation to bring our conversation to its conclusion. ALSO, NOTE: Toward the end, we also got interrupted by a VERY loud lawnmower. We decided to let that be part of our dance with presence and distraction. Hopefully, I've edited it enough that it isn't too jarring as you listen in, and you can join us in the perfect humor of that moment :-)Connect with Us:The Wonder Dome Newsletter http://bit.ly/3dTfdPiFollow Andy on Twitter http://twitter.com/cahillaguerillaFollow us on Instagram http://instagram.com/thewonderdomepodLike us on Facebook http://facebook.com/mindfulcreative.coachConnect with Joel and Ishita:#17 Waking Down and Spiraling Up (with Joel Monk)coachesrising.com#19 Embracing Your Wholeness (with Ishita Sharma)cometocenter.comListen to Ishita's free, guided call to explore inner coherence: bit.ly/3KvIqjcJoin Murmurations, a 6 month program to help usher you into the next stage of evolution and alignment with your Higher Purpose: cometocenter.com/groupintensive
About our guest Ishita Arora is the CEO & Founder of Dayslice. She came up with the idea of creating Dayslice from an interesting perspective; as someone who had friends who were teachers and instructors who had expressed frustrations with their processes when it came to how their businesses were run, and as someone who has tried booking lessons with instructors in various fields and seeing the issues that came along with that. She wanted to come up with a way that took the frustration out of running the crucial parts of people's businesses - for both the teachers and the students - to make the experience seamless! What is Dayslice: Dayslice steps in for your bookings, payment collections, reminders, communications and more - to automate these systemic functions. Using Dayslice, you will have more time to focus on your favorite parts of running your online music studio! Why Dayslice: Dayslice was created with the user in mind, with the focus being ease of use and quick set up, so that you can focus on YOUR zone of genius to run your business and not also worry about learning a bunch of new tech to do it! Think about how much time you've wasted in the past (or, maybe you're still stuck here) trying to come up with branding for your business. We're not all graphic designers - and Dayslice takes a huge part of that off of your plate! They integrate with Pexels so that you get access to beautiful, high quality images and branding for your business that will be automatically sized to look “just right” at the top of your dayslice page. And when it comes to colors, pull a couple from your new pexels photo or use existing brand colors. Dayslice will create a custom gradient with them to theme your site with ease. The main feature of dayslice is calendaring and payments. Students can purchase single or multi-packs of lessons and schedule or reschedule as needed. Dayslilce has simplified the scheduling process and by taking payments ahead of rendering your music lessons, you won't be chasing after missing funds. Making it easy You are in control of how students can purchase and schedule lessons. Lesson lengths are whatever you choose, with your desired buffer between them and according to your desired general availability with consideration for what is already on your Google calendar. You are in control of your prices. Prices can be set for individual lessons and bundles or multi-packs at whatever number you desire. Students can book all sessions at once or book as they go. MagaMama with Kimberly Ann Johnson: Sex, Birth and Motherhood
In this conversation, Kimberly and Ishita wonder together about non-dualism, embodiment, culture, ancestral heritage, and more. They discuss Ishita's approach to non-dualism which holds both consciousness of energy while being connected to the body in the present moment. While many spiritual teachings dismiss the body, the body holds wisdom and energy, particularly through the nervous system. Ishita proposes that the nervous system is energy at its core, and we understand the energetic layers and boundaries of our nervous systems, energies, and others'. They also discuss spiritual teachings, cultural differences between India and the U.S., and varying cultural practices as evidence of universal principles. Bio Ishita Sharma serves as a mentor, mirror and activator to those who wish to better our world.
