Alright. It's time for some real talk. Patrick Madrid will tell you about this really alarming trend. Young men, especially teens and early adults, are becoming increasingly alienated from society. He blames much of this on the rise of social media and online dating, which often leave young men isolated and frustrated, especially when their online interactions don't lead to real, meaningful relationships. Patrick shares a clip from Professor Scott Galloway of NYU, who drops a pretty bold statement: "the most dangerous person in the world is a lonely, broke, young male." According to him, "we're producing millions of them." Oof! Prof. Galloway explains how young men are swiping hundreds of times on dating apps, only to get ghosted and rejected, leading to feelings of worthlessness and isolation. Add in the disappearance of hands-on jobs like auto and woodshop, and it's no wonder young men are struggling to find purpose. Now, Patrick doesn't pretend to have all the answers, but he's quick to note he's thankful he never had to deal with online dating (he's been married for decades). He paints a vivid picture of how different things are for today's youth – from face-to-face dating to today's swipe-happy culture, which can leave young people feeling more disconnected than ever. The stats don't lie: Prof. Galloway shares that 1 in 7 men has zero close friends, and 1 in 4 can't even name a best friend. Yikes! So, what's the solution? According to Patrick, it starts with good fathers stepping up. He urges dads to get out from behind their own screens and actively engage with their sons. Whether it's golfing, camping, or even just going for a walk, fathers need to spend quality time passing on wisdom and guiding their sons towards being godly, productive men. It's about creating fun moments where you can have one-on-one convos with your son about God, manhood, and what really matters in life. Time flies, and it's too easy to look back and wish you'd spent more time bonding with your kids. You don't want that regret! Patrick recommends Steve Wood's book "Legacy" as a good book for fathers to dig into. It will give solid advice on how to raise godly children and create a lasting impact. The loneliness epidemic won't fix itself, and it's up to fathers, and all of us, to help guide the next generation into a more connected, purposeful life. You can do this, dad! Feeling inspired? Share this with someone who could use a boost of fatherly wisdom!
In this episode, we dig into the difference between winning and second place by examining why obedience is better than sacrifice but can't exist without its participation! Let's go and let's grow! Enjoy. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/miraclz1/support

This week on S&A Lindsay is joined by author and story teller Hayden Gilbert. Which is fitting because this Double is all about story telling. We are alone in the woods looking for a friend, with a double of Charles B. Pirece's The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) & George Waggner's The Wolf Man (1941) This is all about being hairy and alone in the woods. Listen to Schlock & Awe on your favourite Podcast App.
As is so often the case, Kevin has no friends. But, like, ZERO. So you get him in his diminished state rambling on about '80s horror. But this is moments for him, so just play along. Horror is a hot topic on this show and someone of Kevin's age has no excuse for these holes in his watch history. He buckled down this week and watches the first 2 films in all 3 major horror franchises of the '80s, Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. He'll break down each of the 6 films and let you know which of the series is his favorite, now that he has actually earned an opinion on the matter! Next up he gets modern with a more recent slasher-adjacent flick, The Rental. This is the directorial debut of Dave Franco and is a solid flick. Kevin then quickly reviews The Knock at the Cabin, which has been reviewed by Jen and Andrew already so not much time is spent there. He finally finishes off with It Follows, an artsy, moody horror flick the has sex ghosts. Awesome!! As always, thank you for watching. The solo episodes are rare but we hope you enjoy it. Next episode should be something new and exciting for everyone! Enjoy your week, kids and don't forget to like, subscribe, and share!

Is 40:27-31. In troubled times such as these, we may sometimes wonder what God is doing and even ask “where are you, Lord?”. David certainly asked this throughout the psalms and Israel would ask this through their difficult history. In today's news, President Trump and the first Lady have been diagnosed with covid!...In other news, in the last episode I talked a lot of shit about Machine Gun Kelly's new alblum "Tickets to my Downfall" but I actually really enjoy a few songs on his record including the song "Lonley." In 2019, The Who’s “Tommy” turns 50 years old, Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” turns 40, and Green Day’s “American Idiot” turns 15. These three albums alone prove how powerful a concept album can truly be… but are they THE best concept albums in music of all time? If not, what are? That’s what Matt Gamba and Zach Shaw debate in this episode of Epic Footnote Productions’ “If You Have to Pick 3 … ,” a podcast where we have to pick their top three choices on any given topic (bands, albums, songs, genres, whatever!). After they each share their personal favorites, they then have to come to an agreement on a final top 3.

On today's show we go to my favorite boutique hotel anywhere in the world, the contemporary, stylish and sophisticated Twin Palms Hotel and Spa on Surin Beach in Phuket, Thailand. Additional information on the hotel can be found at: http://www.twinpalms-phuket.com/ On today's show we will also be premiering a new feature, our "Music for Airport Lounges" pick. This feature will highlight a great new track from an independant artist that can be found on the Podsafe Music Network. The track featured at the end of today's show is "Miles Away" by 28. More information on the band can be found at: http://www.28music.com/index.cfm The Travel in 10 Travel Podcast is one of the most subscribed shows on both itunes and the zune marketplace. Listen on your ipod or zune or watch on the new ipod touch or apple TV.
For today's show we visit the Royal Orchid Sheraton, in Bangkok, Thailand. This great hotel has a mix of modern amenities and traditional Thai atmosphere. It gives guests an opportunity to explore the city by boat, foot or tuk tuk and is centrally located to get to many of Bangkok's best attractions. It is definetly one of the top starwood hotels in the region providing great value for the services and amenities that they offer.
