New Delhi when referring to the specific district that serves as India's capital. New Delhi is a planned city developed during British rule and officially designated as the capital in 1931. Delhi refers to the larger metropolitan area, encompassing both New Delhi and other historical and residential parts like Old Delhi, which includes the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Delhi is the correct term when speaking broadly about the city and its culture, so we will use that one here. After two weeks in India, visiting four southern cities, I flew north to Dehli from Goa, barely missing the seasonal monsoons. My flight had a Female co-pilot who Said hello to me with a big smile, which made me happy to see a woman pilot there.   The flight attendants checked my boarding tickets. Again, getting off the plane! That was a first. Who checks them getting off the plane? Should I take a Bus, train, or taxi to Agra? Even after arriving, I could not decide. I was overwhelmed with the decisions, but I knew I had to get there.  A taxi costs at least $6000 rupees each way, maybe more. Although this sounded like a lot, it was only $72 USD. Bus or train may be best. However, the temperature is

Welcome back, everyone, to the Web3 with Sam Kamani podcast. This is episode 116, and today, we had the pleasure of hosting Humayun Sheikh, the CEO and founder of Fetch.ai. It was an insightful conversation where we delved deep into the world of AI and blockchain, and how Fetch.ai is merging these technologies to revolutionize the way we interact with digital services. Humayun, with his rich background as an early investor in DeepMind, shared his journey into the realm of AI. Fetch.ai, he explained, is all about democratizing and decentralizing machine learning and AI. It's fascinating how Fetch.ai aims to make AI more accessible and usable by non-experts, through a multi-agent framework that allows easy construction, deployment, and interaction with AI agents. The use of blockchain technology in Fetch.ai, as Humayun elaborated, is not just for keeping records without a central entity but also to build a system where AI agents can interact and transact in a decentralized environment. This integration of AI with blockchain potentially transforms how services are discovered and interacted with, bypassing traditional centralized systems. One of the key takeaways from our discussion was the potential of Fetch.ai to empower developers and tech entrepreneurs. Humayun emphasized that Fetch.ai is keen on inviting developers to experiment and build on their platform, offering a unique opportunity to create and monetize AI agents in a decentralized ecosystem. We also touched upon the broader landscape of AI and blockchain, discussing other exciting projects and the future trajectory of these technologies. This week, The Musafir Stories speaks with Vishnu Menon, a traveller and a student of History, as he takes us to Old Delhi aka Shahjahanabad!  Today's destination: Old Delhi! Nearest Airport: Indira Gandhi International airport (DEL) Nearest Railway Station: New Delhi  Railway station (NDLS) Prerequisites -  NA Packing - Good walking shoes, water to stay hydrated, umbrella, shades Time of the year - Oct, Feb, Mar Length of the itinerary: 3-5 days Itinerary Highlights:  Vishnu starts by covering the history and background of the 7 cities of Delhi, and why it was so important over the years We focus our discussion on Shahjanabad or current day Old Delhi, Delhi 6.  1. Lal Kot / Qila Rai Pithora - settled by the Tomars and the Rajputs, including Prithviraj Chauhan 2. Siri - In 1192, Mohammad Ghori defeated Prithviraj, and left the region to his slave and commander, Qutbuddin Aibak, who built the city of Siri, which was also used and consolidated by the Khilji dynasty.  3. Tughlaqabad -  4. Jahanpanah - Ghiyassudin Tughlaq's impressive fort-city, which can still be visited, was cursed from the start, and his successor Mohammad bin Tughlaq fortified the walls of Qila Rai Pithora and Siri, and encapsulated them into a new city: Jahanpanah 5. Firozabad/ Feroz Shah Kotla - His successor, Feroz Shah Tughlaq, was the first to build a fort along the Yamuna, recognized as the fifth city of Delhi. Feroz Shah's city was humongous by the standards of the day, extending from the Northern Ridge (where the other Ashokan Pillar stands) to Hauz Khas 6. Shergarh - Then, Sher Shah Suri, upon defeating Humayun in 1540, returned to Indrapat, a purportedly ancient village, and built his city, Shergarh, at the same site. 7. Dinpanah  - Humayun came to power in 1555, and added to that, building the Purana Qila as his city, Dinpanah.Shah Jahan's great-grandfather, Humayun, too, had built a capital city there—Dinpanah, which later came to be called the Purana Qila or ‘Old Fort'.  8. Shahjahanabad  - Shahjahan was the next Mughal to reign from Delhi, and gave it the most recent historical city,Shahjahanabad. Northward along the Yamuna, it had fourteen gates, and enjoyed the Golden Era of Mughal rule. It continued to serve as the Mughal capital until the end of the dynasty in 1857, in the decades before which it saw a brilliant cultural renaissance, a time of high etiquette, courtly graces and flourishing literary and music culture. We talk about the main structures around which Shahjahanabad is structured - Red Fort and Jama Masjid We also speak about the different developments that came up between and around these structures including Chandni Chowk, mosques, temples, markets, food streets, nature and much more.  “Link to episode on Mangalore with Sampath Menon” - https://open.spotify.com/episode/1vVloNSFG0deaMUzzSuhUk?si=ia9whfB6Q4ePm7ZgKt5F8Q  Links: Link to Vishnu's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/charithra.sanchari/ Photo by Sergio Capuzzimati on Unsplash Follow the Musafir stories on: Twitter : https://twitter.com/musafirstories?lang=en Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/themusafirstories/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/musafirstoriespodcast/?hl=en website: www.themusafirstories.com email: themusafirstories@gmail.com Do follow IVM Podcasts on social media. Now before I begin, I want to mention that I'm taking a one-episode break so my next podcast after this one will be September 8th. So, welcome to this podcast episode 112 titled “Best Hydrogen ETFs And Stocks. Plus…” It's presented by Investing for the Soul. Investingforthesoul.com is your site for vital global ethical and sustainable investing mentoring, news, commentary, information, and resources. And look at my newly totally revised website at investingforthesoul.com! Tell me what you think. Now, remember that you can find a full transcript, and links to content – including stock symbols and bonus material – on this episode's podcast page located at investingforthesoul.com/podcasts. Also, a reminder. I do not evaluate any of the stocks or funds mentioned in these podcasts, nor do I receive any compensation from anyone covered in these podcasts. Furthermore, I will reveal to you any personal investments I have in the investments mentioned herein. Additionally, quotes about individual companies are brief. Please go to this podcast's webpage for links to the actual articles for more company and stock information. Also, some companies might be covered more than once and there are also 4 article links below that time didn't allow me to review them here. ------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Best Hydrogen ETFs And Stocks. Plus… Today, I'm starting with the article 7 Hydrogen Stocks You Better Be Buying on Each and Every Dip, by Ian Cooper, on investorplace.com. Here's some of what Mr. Cooper says about his picks. “1) Global X Hydrogen ETF (NASDAQ:HYDR) It's up to $10 a share and could test $12 a share, all because of the growing demand for hydrogen… as I noted on July 17, with an expense ratio of 0.50%, this one invests in companies involved in all aspects of hydrogen production, distribution and use. 2) ALPS Clean Energy ETF (NYSEARCA:ACES). With an expense ratio of 0.55%, the ETF offers diversification and exposure to companies involved with renewables and clean technology… While it's finding resistance above $50, eventually I'd like to see it test $60 a share again soon. 3) Defiance Next Gen H2 ETF (NYSEARCA:HDRO). With an expense ratio of 0.30%, the ETF invests in companies that generate at least 50% of their revenue from involvement with hydrogen-based energy sources, fuel cell technologies and industrial gases. While it's been volatile, it has a strong history of bouncing back from excessively oversold conditions. 4) Air Products & Chemicals (NYSE:APD) Owns more than 100 hydrogen plants around the world and is involved in more than 250 projects. Air Products & Chemicals [has] a yield of 2.32%. The company is also working on a $7 billion hydrogen joint venture in Saudi Arabia. 5) Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) Is another one of the hot ‘must own' hydrogen stocks… Analysts at RBC Capital are also bullish… the firm just initiated coverage with an outperform rating with a price target of $24 a share. 6) Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) Has traded essentially flat this year, but it's still a solid long-term bet on hydrogen… Northland Securities analysts just upgraded the stock to ‘outperform' from ‘market perform' with a price target of $22 a share. 7) Fusion Fuel Green (NASDAQ:HTOO) Is still a pre-revenue company, but it has some impressive contracts. For one, it signed a 10-year offtake contract with European developer Hydrogen Ventures for 30 tons of green hydrogen per year.'' End quotes. ------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Best Hydrogen ETFs And Stocks. Plus… Now continuing with the alternative energy theme is this piece titled 3 Alternative Energy Stocks With Multibagger Potential. It's by Faisal Humayun and found on investorplace.com. Mr. Humayun includes these points about his picks. “1) Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) PLUG stock has trended lower in the last 12 months and it's a golden opportunity for long-term investors to accumulate. With the company providing end-to-end solutions in the hydrogen economy, the growth visibility is robust… With significant expansion plans, revenue is likely to increase to $5 billion in 2026 and further to $20 billion by 2030… I believe that PLUG stock is poised for multi-bagger returns. 2) First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR) stock has surged by 135% in the last 12 months. However, considering the growth momentum, First Solar stock remains undervalued at a forward price-earnings ratio of 27.1. 3) Enphase Energy (NASDAQ:ENPH) stock has been trending lower and I see this downside as a good accumulation opportunity. At a forward price-earnings ratio of 30.5, the growth stock looks attractive with an investment horizon of five years… Enphase identifies itself as the world's leading supplier of microinverter-based solar-plus-storage systems.” End quotes. ------------------------------------------------------------- Leading Sustainable Agricultural Related Stocks Many investors wonder what sustainable agricultural-related stocks there might be. Well, this article is for you. It's titled Benefits of Sustainable Investing: 3 Companies Leading The Way by Shoshana Weizenblut on finextra.com. Now a few comments by Ms. Weizenblut on her picks. “1) AGCO: Advancing Agricultural Sustainability AGCO integrates sustainability into its core business strategy, emphasizing innovation and technology to make agriculture more efficient, productive, and environmentally friendly. For instance, AGCO's Fendt Vario tractors leverage fuel-efficient designs and advanced technology to reduce environmental impact. The company's Precision Planting solutions help farmers optimize planting and yield, thereby minimizing waste and enhancing food security. 2) ICL Group: Promoting Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition ICL Group, a leading global specialty minerals company, and one of the largest fertilizer manufacturers in the world, offers another attractive opportunity for sustainable investment. ICL's operations center around producing a sustainable food supply, focusing on soil health, plant nutrition, and food quality. ICL's innovative fertilizers are designed to increase crop yields while decreasing the environmental footprint. They are advancing Controlled Release Fertilizers (CRFs) and Water-Soluble Fertilizers (WSFs), which help maximize nutrient uptake and reduce nutrient leaching, thus protecting water sources. Furthermore, ICL's commitment to recycling industrial by-products into useful resources, such as phosphate, magnesium, and bromine among others, illustrates their dedication to a circular economy and resource efficiency.  3) John Deere (really Deere & Co): Pioneering Precision Agriculture John Deere, a familiar name in agricultural machinery, has been pushing boundaries to make farming sustainable and efficient. The company's focus on innovations to improve machinery efficiency and promote agriculture makes it a promising prospect for sustainable investors. John Deere's smart farming technologies, such as precision ag technology, allow farmers to utilize resources more effectively. This technology involves the use of GPS and data analytics to optimize crop planting, irrigation, and harvesting, reducing waste and environmental impact. Furthermore, John Deere's advancements in electric and autonomous farming machinery reflect their commitment to reducing emissions and promoting sustainability.” End quotes. ------------------------------------------------------------- 15 Biggest Green Tech Companies in the World And now for your interest and which you might want to investigate are the 15 Biggest Green Tech Companies in the World. Rupee Beer Launches Mango Wheat Ale

It's peak summertime and after the immense success of Rupee's award winning lager nearly two years ago, brothers Van & Sumit Sharma enlisted the strategic insight of global craft brewing legend and creator of iconic Pumpkinhead, one of the most successful seasonal beers to ever hit the market to brew their next highly anticipated sku. "The beer industry, South Asian community, and restaurant & food world have been asking us for months if we have any new beers coming out, and after much thought, research and development, we are excited to launch our signature Mango Wheat Ale on World Mango Day on July 22nd" Mangos are the national fruit of India and considered sacred symbols of proprietary and good luck. In fact, India is the largest consumer and supplier of mangos in the world. Taking the 'King of Fruits' the team wanted to brew an easy to drink summer ale which is smooth with hints of tropical aroma and mango flavor. The history of the mango dates back to 4000 BC on the Indian Subcontinent where over 1000 varieties of the fruit exist. One of these varieties, the Chaunsa mango was given its name by the revolutionary leader, Sultan Sher Shah Suri, creator of the modern day Indian Rupee which was the inspiration of the brand's first lager sku. In 1539, Sultan Sher Shah Suri defeated the second Moghal Emperor, Humayun, in the Battle of Chaunsa. In his extreme happiness, he commemorated the victory by naming his favorite variety of mango, the Chaunsa. After relocating back to America after years living in London & Australia, the brothers having grown up in the Indian restaurant trade their entire lives wanted to shake up an industry which they truly felt lacked representation, and which also continued to make sub-par beer not designed to pair with the spicy and flavorful foods they grew up on. Rupee Beer is available at national retailers such as Costco, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Total Wine, as well as top international restaurants within the Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern and Mexican category. To skeptics, blockchain-based AI may sound like a solution in search of a problem. But to Humayun Sheikh, founder and CEO of Fetch, decentralized AI has the power to revolutionize how we transact on the Internet by creating truly peer-to-peer information systems. That sounds straightforward enough, but consumer-facing AI is still in its infancy, and the industry faces many hard questions in the years to come. Humayun navigates these questions with nuance and diligence as he shares his compelling thesis on the future of decentralized AI. DISCLAIMERThe content herein is provided for educational, informational, and entertainment purposes only, and does not constitute an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any securities, options, futures, or other derivatives related to securities in any jurisdiction, nor should not be relied upon as advice to buy, sell or hold any of the foregoing. I remember this story from a long time ago. Back in the day our favourite sport was doing better than a classmate. How can we outdo the other, a competitor on the sports field, in the classroom or on stage. We were all trying to draw our lines longer to make the others shorter.I think the memory of that life triggered the thought behind this story for me. Perhaps Emperor Akbar had a similar dilemma on how to outdo the legacy of his ancestors, Babur and Humayun? That Akbar was called Akbar the Great is perhaps a testimony to his own decision to draw his line longer than that of the Mughal rulers before him. Who knows?Listen to this story and tell me what do you think of it.I am toying with the idea of an e-book with an accompanying playbook to help you make better use of these stories in the Classroom, LivingRoom and Boardroom. The irrevocability of death is a given.   Even as I can't ever reconcile to it, I sit in awe at its messy discipline. It tears worlds asunder, leaves pain in its wake, splits, often destroys,  but moves unreconciled and unrelenting. Sometimes it gives a little air, some space - not a dawn of hope, but a sunbeam - as a vestige, but then again moves across the firmament to find its west - and waste.   As we sit beside the hospital bed of a loved one, and pray, even if it's for one more breath, deep inside we know it is against all natural laws.  But hope is what we live on. I still remember the story of the Mughal king Babur, whose son Humayun was lying nearing death, and he went around his bed three times, praying to the almighty, for the exchange of life for life, to give his son's illness to him in exchange of Babur's health, and it happened, his son was saved.   It's a desperate thought for a despairing heart.   Just as death is really a passage through life, for the surviving - the bereaved, the ones left behind -  death of a loved one is a transition, from a sensory world of togetherness to an estranged world of isolation. With a numb realisation we realise how much we are made, of what we get from those closest to us.  Their demise then is like the opening of a yawning gap, something which often never fills again. It's the absence of a voice, a touch, a quiet glance, a secret smile. It is the thinking together, it is the sharing of silences, of a bowl of soup, of seeing a sunbeam together. Of shivering in the cold, of finding warmth, of drinking coffee, of arguing, of hugging, of saying goodbye on the doorstep knowing, come evening and you would meet again.   And then all of a sudden, we realise how the absence of one life diminishes our whole world. Our accomplishments are not enough without the ardent cheerleader, our presence is not significant without that someone's acknowledgment, a life we might be living in multiples is forever laid to rest as a lonely singularity.   A loved one's mortal body dies once, and we, the survivors, die multiple times inside.   If you liked this poem, consider listening to these other poems on death's call: When Breath Becomes Air Departures What Do I Leave Behind Follow me on Instagram at @sunilgivesup. Sermon Audio – Cross of Grace

Luke 10:25-37Just then a lawyer stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he said, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the law? What do you read there?” He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.” But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. So likewise, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan while travelling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, “Take care of him; and when I come back, I will repay you whatever more you spend.”“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” So, the parable of the Good Samaritan is an oldie and a goody. The gist of it is so well known it can be referenced in most places out there in the world and the average bear knows something about its message. I heard it casually mentioned by a news anchor just this week in reference to something someone did during the shooting at Highland Park, outside of Chicago, on the 4th of July. So, it's one of those parables most of us have heard so often it may have lost its punch over the years. I feel like we've learned to serve it up sweet and good and nice for the kids on Sunday morning and at Vacation Bible School but, like so much else in Scripture, we forget to dig more deeply into it all, too much of the time, once we've grown up and moved on from our Sunday school days and VBS.So, when I stumbled across Thursday's White House ceremony where President Biden awarded the Presidential Medals of Freedom to a handful of American civilians, some of them got me thinking about what it means to be a “Good Samaritan” and how we might wonder differently and more deeply about that this morning. There were 17 Medals of Freedom given and all of them were impressive for many reasons. But a few stood out to me. Photo: Susan Walsh/AP There was Simone Biles, the most decorated American gymnast ever, who is also an advocate for athletes' mental health and safety, for kids in foster care, and for victims of sexual assault – all of which she has accomplished as a 4 foot, 8 inch, 103 pound example of Black girl magic, from Columbus, Ohio, who has survived and thrived in the face of her experience with all of the above: her own mental health struggles, some time in the foster care system herself, and as a victim of sexual assault along with so many other gymnasts, just like her. Photo: Justin Sullivan/Getty Images And there was Khizr Khan, the Pakistani-American father, whose son, Humayun Khan, was killed in the Iraq war defending his fellow Americans from a car bomb attack. But Khizr Khan, a Muslim himself, got the Medal of Freedom for speaking out against an immigration ban targeting people from Muslim-majority countries, and reminding whoever would listen to him that heroes and patriots like his own Muslim son would have been kept from citizenship under such discriminatory policies. Photo: Shaun Clark/Getty Images And there was Megan Rapinoe, too, the queer soccer player for the US Women's National Team. She accepted her award – pink and purple hair and all – not just for her Olympic gold medals and Women's World Cup championships, but for her advocacy work for gender pay equality in women's sports, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ rights. Which brings me back to the holy questions raised by today's Gospel and Jesus' parable of the original “good” Samaritan. All of this begins and ends with questions, after all, and that lawyer gets the ball rolling when he asks: “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus asks him a couple of questions in return: “What is written in the law? What do you read there?”The lawyer answers correctly – “love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength…and love your neighbor as yourself” – but then he asks another question: “But who is my neighbor?” And after that tale about the sad sack who gets robbed, beaten, left for dead, and all the rest; the story about the priest and the Levite who pass him by and the Samaritan who finally stops to help; Jesus wraps it all up with still another question. Not a moral. Not a sermon. Not a lecture. But a seemingly rhetorical question: “Which one was a neighbor?”See, in Jesus' day Samaritans weren't necessarily considered to be “good” or “neighbors” by those who would have been listening to Jesus. They were outsiders to those who considered themselves to be good, faithful Jews, descendants of Abraham and rightful, faithful heirs of God's promises. To hear that a Samaritan would do a kind and gracious, loving thing for anyone, would have been a surprise – and maybe even an offensive surprise, at that. By that I mean some of Jesus' listeners might have rather died on the side of that road than have to admit they had been saved by a Samaritan.I learned that from Amy Jill-Levine, the brilliant Jewish, New Testament scholar – yes, you heard that correctly. She's a Jewish, New Testament scholar, some of us have studied around here. She goes so far as to propose the notion that the Jewish lawyer in Jesus' story couldn't even bring himself to say “Samaritan” – that he can't even admit that a Samaritan was the hero of the parable. Because when Jesus asks that final question, “Who was a neighbor?,” the lawyer can only answer, perhaps begrudgingly, “the one who showed him mercy.”And I learned something else from Amy Jill-Levine about this parable, too – something that is lost on so many 21st Century readers of Jesus' parable. Nowhere in the Biblical text do we read the phrase “Good Samaritan.” That's a title we've added to the mix over the course of the last 2,000 years, but it's not something Jesus, or the Gospel writer ever says – “Good Samaritan.” This guy, this Samaritan, was just kind and merciful and loving and compassionate – and a neighbor. Like a Samaritan is wont to be, presumably. And this would have been hard, holy, surprising news for Jesus' listeners to acknowledge.Likewise, Simone Biles is a “good” young Black woman, for sure. She's strong, brave, compassionate and tremendously hard-working – as young Black women are wont to be. She's exceptional, not in spite of her Blackness, but because she's a child of God.Kzhir Khan, and his son Humayun, are not and were not “good” or “exceptional” in spite of the fact that they are Muslim. They are and were faithful, wise, brave and patriotic children of God – as Muslims in this country and around the world are wont to be.And the same goes for Megan Rapinoe, lesbian activist for women's rights, racial justice and more. She's not “good” in spite of herself. She is kind, compassionate, fair-minded and on a quest for equality because her life's experience – like so many queer people like her – has shown her what it's like to live on the margins in a world that still doesn't accept her fully – as a woman, as a gay person, and as an elite athlete who is both of those things, and a child of God, too.So let's start asking better questions. And let's “go and do likewise” – looking for and loving our neighbor in surprising people and places – as Jesus invites us to do. Let's wonder, more often, about “the other,” “the outsider,” “the hurting,” “the broken,” “the lost,” “the whatever.” Let's see them each – and all – as our neighbors and as God's children. And let's learn from them, listen to them, and respect them with humility, compassion and openness – not because it's exceptional, but because it's expected – as a natural, grateful, faithful response from anyone who has received the same kind of grace, and more, from the God we know in Jesus.Amen
