The track is a potent preview of her upcoming EP, Power From Love, slated for release on January 3rd, 2025. Known for her unique blend of soulful electronic pop, Loraine's latest release offers a magical journey into the power of creation and self-transformation."Magic Man" is a reflection of Loraine's deep belief in the power to manifest and create one's own reality. "It's about magic," she shares. "We can create our own life. We can create our own world. We have the power to do that." The song was born out of inspiration from Loraine's time as a nanny for four young girls who loved fairies and magical worlds, combining this with her musical influences at the time. The result is an uplifting track that blends fantasy with a grounded yet whimsical message. Jokingly, she adds that her husband now is convinced the song is about him, which adds a fun extra layer of interpretation to the song…The song's evolution is just as fascinating as its message. Initially written over a decade ago, "Magic Man" began as an acoustic piece. Loraine explains, “I recorded the acoustic version... but working with my producer on all the electronic stuff... I wasn't sure at first. But then I grew into really loving it.” The electronic production adds a fresh layer to the song, transforming it into a soulful anthem about growth, nurturing, and patience. "It's just a lighter writing... not taking it too seriously either," she says, which adds a sense of fun and freedom to the track."Magic Man" is the second single off Loraine's upcoming EP Power From Love, which explores the concept of embracing one's personal power. Loraine describes the EP's theme as finding strength not in fear or anger but in love, stillness, and self-worth. "There is power in love, where you don't necessarily need to do much... it comes down to self-love," she explains, offering listeners a sense of calm and empowerment. For Loraine, music has always been a part of her life. Growing up in a musical family, she was immersed in music early on. “As long as I can remember, I was singing and doing music,” she shares, noting that her mother, a former elementary teacher, instilled a love for music through interactive classes. This early exposure to music paved the way for Loraine to develop a passion for singing and songwriting and, later, integrate her music into her career as a life coach. Through her coaching, Loraine uses music to help individuals process and transform emotions, promoting healing and self-empowerment.With influences ranging from Christina Aguilera to Taylor Swift and Banks, Loraine's musical style draws on a mix of genres, allowing her to create a distinctive sound that blends electronic beats with heartfelt lyrics. Her ability to draw on her own experiences and combine them with her love for music and coaching has led to a truly unique artistic voice.Fans can expect more from Loraine in the coming year as she continues to blend music with personal growth. Power From Love is an EP filled with empowering songs that encourage listeners to tap into their power and create their desired lives. For more information, visit LoraineLifeCoaching.com or follow Loraine on social media.About LoraineLoraine is a talented singer-songwriter and life coach based in Portland, Oregon. Apex Legends is known for having one of the most “boring” game launches in history in the best of ways. Jokingly called Uptime Legends, Apex pursued a multi-tiered cloud infrastructure that helped EA deliver one of the smoothest PvP launches in history. Sid Dhulipalla, CEO and Co-Founder of Hathora, and Steven Hartland, VP of Engineering at Rocket Science, join our host, Alex Takei, Director at Ruckus Games, to discuss the role of cloud and server orchestration in the distribution of modern video games and the business surrounding it. We chat all things bare metal, peer-to-peer, dedi servers, hybrid setups, and their implications on the player experience and the developer's cost profile. We learn about the landscape of players from public cloud to bare metal to server orchestration to boutique backend teams that are available to studios across the AAA and indie spaces. We also have the age-old chicken and egg debate of “predictability, cost, and flexibility” as relative unknowns for every game launch despite being major components of any game's financial health. PATREON MOVIE DISCUSSION: Shesmadeofwords Podcast & InstagramShirleon joins Melvin in discussing Millie Bobby Brown's latest acting venture: Damsel! From it's wild, fluctuating tone to actually making a dragon scary, there's plenty to be explored in this latest girl-power fantasy tale! Topics:(PATREON EXCLUSIVE) 30-minutes discussing "Why It's Never Been Easier to Land in Director's Jail", a write-up by Mia Galuppo on The Hollywood Reporter, and one of its observations: that producers look at a Director's Rotten Tomatoes Scores in deciding who to hire, and who to ignore. (PATREON EXCLUSIVE) Shirleon has started her own podcast called "Shesmadeofwords", a podcast about the books she's reading, bookstagram, and so much more!Shirleon liked Damsel, even texting Melvin to check it out after watching the film, and liked its twist on the traditional storybook of yore.Melvin felt there was a "confusion in tone", but otherwise still enjoyed the fact that the Dragon was handled more like a horror-movie villain than your typical mythical beast.Melvin has already seen Damsel before. He watched it back in 2022. Back then, it was called The Princess and featured Joey King as its lead. Jokingly, he compares the two films, and how he liked The Princess a lot more.In various, different ways, Shirleon and Melvin both wanted more from the film.Shirleon loved Millie Bobby Brown's performance. Melvin, on the other hand, felt something was seriously off for this otherwise consistently stellar performer. When it comes to the discussion about water conservation, much of the focus and often blame has been placed on one crop; alfalfa. In this episode a very fired up Matt Faizey, Managing Director of M&G Movers & Storers, continues what started as a pre-recording discussion on the so called 3.5 tonne brigade, where Matt makes his views on the subject very clear indeed. Matt began in the industry delivering mahogany and new furniture on Saturday mornings from the tender age of 14 (circa 1993), for his father's sideline, although Matt's target in life was to become a barrister or journalist. M&G Movers & Storers are based in the Midlands and turnover between £1-1.3m a year, £400k of that being from storage and the rest from domestic moving. M&G Movers & Storers USP is that they do not subcontract any work whatsoever, interact with other firms, or bring in any outsiders, and no employee is on less than a full 40-hour week annual basis. Matt was previously heavily involved within the industry, but has been rather quiet in recent years, and explains why. Matt has had several challenges, many of which were personal, and family rated, but still concerned the business, and is very lucky to have the support of his extremely suffering other half Donna. Jokingly the one thing Matt would change from his moving past is to have never done it in the first place, however, if he hadn't had then he probably wouldn't had met Donna, his now wife. On a more serious note, Matt would have liked to have got a better education of the industry sooner. Matt's highpoint of being within the industry is his wife staying with him! Again, on a more serious note it's the privilege that he has had to experience all ends of the industry, and also watching people develop skills in an industry that most people regard as unskilled and uneducated, and become a professional removalist. Another highlight is the money! The one thing Matt would like to change within the industry is to bring the entire industry together and have one collective voice, which can then be used to be heard, in which Matt makes a strong case for, and for those within the industry to get educated and learn the system in which you operate within. The advice Matt would give himself just starting out within the industry again is, apart from keeping his mouth shut, to understand the gravity of what you are getting into. In the next 5 years Matt hopes to have caught up with growing the revenue of the company that he should have done in the past 5 years or have left the industry. Industry wise, what happens with the efforts of a mandated key release time and/or atomic settlement and how the industry reacts to it, and also what happens next economically. Outside of the industry Matt enjoys motor racing in which he participates, time with his wife and children (which should have come first, but Matt has petrol flowing through his veins!) and reading. And as always we end Moving Matters with a funny moving story regarding a survey, and Matt provides an interesting story about witness relocation. Enjoy! E31 - The Fifth CourtPresented by Peter Leonard, BL and Mark Tottenham BL21'.30""In recent weeks the DPP cannot get Senior Counsel to act in criminal cases, I'm assuming because their fees, relative to other work, are so low." - Luigi Rea, BLLuigi Rea BL (joined the profession in 1977 and Darren Lalor BL (2015) join our hosts Peter Leonard and Mark Tottenham to talk about the 'burning issue' in the Law Library - the campaign to reverse the cuts in legal criminal aid fees. These were cut during the time of the Troika, but the fees that were cut were State fees, so legal aid fees (not other fees), and these cuts have never been reversed.Luigi talks about preferring criminal law over other areas such as property related cases where he didn't like when cases were being 'dragged out' 'so that fees would be generated'. 'Criminal (legal) work was easier to live with'.Luigi says that in criminal cases nowadays that you 'can't touch client's money (for fees) because such monies might be the proceeds of crime' and therefore could be a criminal offence to accept such a payment. 'Drugs dealers have money, but you can't touch it' - so it's legal aid or nothing.Peter Leonard asks Luigi 'how can you defend the bad guys' but Luigi interrupts and asks his own similar question that he's often asked, 'How do you defend people who are guilty' and he counters that by pointing out that 'on the other side' that there may be barristers prosecuting people who they know are innocent'.Darren Lalor left school at 14 and decided to go back to school and college. A chance encounter with Luigi in the taxi that Darren was driving [he happened to be reading a law book so a conversation ensued] that has forged a lifelong and life changing friendship, and Darren joined the profession in 2015 specialising in criminal cases. Jokingly, he refers to media mentions of the Four Courts as being the Four Goldmines, while the Criminal Courts of Justice as being the Four Coalmines.15.00" Luigi and Darren get into the meat of the campaign for the restitution of their fees back to the 2002 levels as he could work all day on a case and be paid €25. Luigi refers to one of his formal 'devils' who has fees outstanding from a solicitor of €7,000 - a 'loss' that she can't bear. They discuss the likelihood of a strike - which they say should happen 'sooner rather than later'. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Thirty measly years ago, a grand changing of the teletext guard took place. Piece by piece, ORACLE disappeared from our screens to be replaced by a new service from Teletext (Limited). Jokingly billed as a 'nightmare' by ORACLE's TV listings, midnight on 1st January 1993 marked the end of a glorious era that encompassed legends such as Barney's Bunch, Buzz and the oft-overlooked ORACLE holidays service. Today on Teletext R, Twitter's Russty Russ returns in this (gently edited) repeat of his tribute to the dream that was Optional Reception of Announcements by Coded Line Electronics (oof, try saying that one three times). In hindsight, Russ's appearance should always have been its own episode, so seven years late, here it finally is!

Leaders of B2B - Interviews on B2B Leadership, Tech, SaaS, Revenue, Sales, Marketing and Growth
Marion Mariathasan, CEO & Co-Founder at Simplifya and Chairman & Founder at Ceylon Solutions, shares his serial entrepreneurship journey. Behind the success, Marion has had his fair share of stumbles. He shares a few of these along with the lessons that came from them to help share and build the entrepreneurship community.Marion explains the importance of recognizing business problems, especially in new and upcoming sectors. Simplifya helps support the tedious registration process for cannabis business owners. Instead of actively participating in an upcoming and thriving industry, he chose to find ways to support the industry's pain points. Entrepreneurs can pick up on this and find upcoming industries and solve their problems.Marion shares his recipe for success that every business leader should keep in mind. He calls it the 3Ps - Patience, Passion, and Perseverance. While every startup founder may have the passion and the perseverance to follow through, Marion thinks patience is the hardest to master. He gives an example of when he almost gave up on his startup but held on and won. Jokingly comparing this to gambling, he thinks that luck can be replicated with the right amount of perseverance and opportunities.Marion also shares some great strategies that startups need to master; It's important to listen to your potential customers and be flexible in creating a product. You need to find the right balance, though, so as not to get stuck in development hell. It's imperative to determine what's important first and get to a level of stickiness and value so that customers need you for their business.Business leaders looking to expand their outlook and strategic thinking will benefit from Marion's wealth of experience. And his perspective on entrepreneurship will benefit leaders of all experience levels. What if your parents used the English language to hide their secrets from you? Would that spark an interest in you to actually learn the language? Well, in today's episode we speak with 18-year-old Thomas from Brazil, who shares a very interesting and unique story with us, in terms of how he got started with his English-learning journey. We talked about so many different things that we actually lost track of time (which is why this episode is so long). But we learned so much. We laughed a bit and we connected thanks to the English language. Here are some expressions that came up in this interview that you should write down: I didn't understand anything. I am a goalkeeper. Jen remembers her friend and “guardian angel” Hallie. The two women met on a week-long rock-climbing adventure for cancer survivors and quickly bonded. Jokingly nicknamed “Fancypants” by her new rock-climbing friends due to the enormous suitcase of clothes she packed for the trip, Hallie was incredibly warm and full of energy - a woman who sparkled and shined brightly. She had a gift for taking in the present moment, she loved and appreciated her family and friends and she reminded all around her to “Be Here Now”.

In the first Leela of Chapter 24, Baba explains the importance of sharing food with others and offering it first to God and the Guru before consuming it ourselves. In the next Leela, we get a glimpse of Baba's wit and humour when He playfully tells Anna Chinchanekar that he is trying to kiss Mausibai while they were both massaging Baba in the Dwarka Mai. Mention is also made in the chapter of an incident where Baba reprimands a devotee for interfering with Mausibai's Seva. The main story in Chapter 24 is about Dabholkar, who went to the Dwarka Mai on a Sunday and started massaging Baba's feet. Baba noticed some puffed grams stuck in the folds of Dabholkar's coat sleeve. Jokingly, Baba said, "He went to the bazaar and quietly ate the grams without sharing it with anybody." Baba then, using the story as an example, teaches us that before we have a meal, we ought to offer it first to Baba, then to others around us, and only then enjoy the meal ourselves. When the food is offered to Baba, it becomes Prasad and turns into Ambrosia. Whatever we are about to eat, be it stale or freshly prepared, delicious or not, or even if it be leftovers, if we are going to consume it or partake of it, we must first offer it to Baba so that it becomes Satvik. Baba advises us that we should first remember Him before our senses, mind and intellect enjoy sensory objects. The senses can never remain without the objects. But if those objects are first offered to the Guru, the attachment to them will naturally vanish. Similarly, all our thoughts regarding desire, anger, avarice, should first be offered and directed to the Sadguru, which helps in eradicating those thoughts. When we think that Baba is close by or present, then the question whether the object (that we are about to enjoy) is fit to be enjoyed or not will arise. In this way, the object that is not fit to be enjoyed will be shunned, and our vicious habits and vices will gradually disappear. Love for the Guru will grow and pure knowledge will sprout. When this knowledge grows, the bondage of body consciousness (that we are the body) will snap, and our intellect will be merged in spirit consciousness, leading to bliss and contentment. Baba had a very endearing way of joking with His devotees without offending them, and everyone enjoyed this. He often called His devotees by pet names (mentioned in chapter 20). At other times, He phonetically prolonged the 'a' sound. As a result, the word used would mean something totally different. Some examples of this are given below. One Ekadashi day, when Baba asked Kushabhau what he had eaten, he replied, "Nothing. It is Ekadashi today." Baba: “What does Ekadashi mean?” Kushabhau: “Upavas.” Baba: “What is Upavas?” Kushabhau: “It is like Rozas.” Baba: “What is a Roza?” Kushabhau: “It means eating nothing except Kandamul” (Kanda means tubers - usually sweet potatoes and potatoes, and Mul means root vegetables). Baba then, punning upon the word 'Kand', called it Kaanda (onion). Baba said, "You were eating Kaanda? Here is Kaanda for you." So saying, Baba handed over a few onions to Kushabhau and asked him to eat them. Kushabhau said, "Baba, if you eat, I too will eat." They both ate some onions. Just then, a few visitors came there, and Baba, wanting to have fun, said, "Look at this Brahmin. He is eating onions on an Ekadashi day!" Kushabhau said, "Baba ate it, and then made me also eat it." "No, no! See what I ate," said Baba and vomited. What Baba vomited was Kunda, i.e., sweet potatoes. Baba said, "See, it is not onion, but sweet potato." Kushabhau was astonished, and thought the production of sweet potatoes was his opportunity. He fell on the sweet potato and swallowed them. Baba kicked and beat him saying, "Why do you eat the vomit?" Kushabhau did not answer. In a moment, Baba's mood changed. He said, "I shall give you my blessings. Henceforth, you will have the power to produce this Udi (the Udi from my Dhuni Mai) by merely remembering me and holding forth your hands. Give this Udi freely. It will help people, and you will get Punya.” (Reference: The Life of Sai Baba, Narasimha Swamiji.) Gopalrao Booty of Nagpur was keen to help his friend, S.B. Dhumal, who wanted to go to England to do his studies in law. Booty offered to provide all the expenses of Dhumal's journey and support his family during his absence. When all was settled between them, Shama went to ask Baba whether Dhumal can go to Vilayat (England). Baba asked, "What for?" Shama replied, "To study at the bar." Baba said, "His Vilayat is here only." Thus, Dhumal did not go to England, but his practice flourished in India itself. (Reference: The Life of Sai Baba, Narasimha Swamiji.) Baba had a unique relationship with Tatya Kote Patil. It was that of a doting uncle and his nephew. In the afternoon when the devotees had gone to their rooms, Baba played with him. Baba laughed heartily and played pranks. When Tatya, Mhalsapati, and Baba slept in th...

Antoine Joyce grew up poor in Brooklyn, New York and much of what he knew about life was within a five radius block. He was smart and outgoing but once he was placed in a predominantly white school, he felt insecure and started failing classes. One day he stumbled upon his cousins practicing a dance for a talent show. Jokingly he said, "Oh, I can do that too" and he imitated their movements. Before he knew it he was performing at an All Stars Project talent show. A few years later he was flying first-class around the world producing DJ Grandmaster Flash's shows. These days Antoine is the city leader for the Dallas chapter of the All Stars Project, the organization that helped him see that a life was possible beyonds the five block radius in Brooklyn. The All Stars Project uses performance and play-based programs to transform the lives of youth in poor communities. He is helping next generation of poor youth to see bigger possibilities for themselves. We talk about: How discovering play and performance opened up Antoine's world beyond the one he knew of poverty How Antoine went from being an outgoing kid to shy and introverted once he was placed in a predominantly white school How the education system contributes to the decline of exploration of our identities Humans as natural born performers

Jason Hartman interviews Dean Clancy, the Vice President of Public Policy of a grassroots movement called FreedomWorks, to discuss many hot topics and issues that our country is facing. Dean talks about the fiscal cliff and the ramifications of the policies pushed through on New Year's Eve, and the money being thrown at special interests in typical bloated government fashion. Dean stresses the importance of voter participation and discusses some radical options to turn around the debt crisis and decentralize the system. He states there is more incentive in government to do the wrong thing than what is actually best for our country and its citizens. FreedomWorks' aggressive, real-time campaigns activate a growing and permanent volunteer grassroots army to show up and demand policy change. They believe individual liberty and the freedom to compete increases consumer choices and provides individuals with the greatest control over what they own and earn. They lead the fight for lower taxes, less government, and more freedom. Dean Clancy is FreedomWorks' Legislative Counsel and Vice President, Health Care Policy. He leads our efforts to reverse the government takeover of health care and adopt a patient-centered approach. Clancy has served as the top White House budget official on health care, Medicare, Social Security, and other major government spending programs; as executive director of the President's Council on Bioethics; and as a senior policy advisor to the congressional leadership. Clancy boasts an impressive resume a deep expertise on a broad range of domestic and fiscal policy subjects. Jokingly referring to himself as a "recovering Washington insider," Clancy works closely with Members of Congress, grassroots activists, and the public to defend and strengthen the world's best health care system and reduce government interference in the doctor-patient relationship.
