We recorded this episode before a very long weekend for The Fabulous Baker Boys, who had shows to work in Durant, as well as production tear downs in Arlington, Texas & the Oklahoma State Fair... Before Max arrived to record this episoe, Jeff & Jay decided we should do another show & tell episode. So they went through & picked random items of memorabilia to have Max tell the story of how he got it.... There were so many crazy coincidences recording this episode... One of which involves the Oklahoma Metal band "Oliver Magnum".... See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Dominic a young artist who is just beginning his professional musical journey. Based in California, Dominic is excited about the release of his debut album, Happy Little Accidents, which was released June 28 on Quarto Valley Records.Happy Little Accidents is fresh music but with hints of nostalgia from the many artists that influenced him since he was a kid, such as the Beatles, Aerosmith, Rick Nelson, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams III. This album is laced with touches of humor, great melodies and catchy lyrics while paired with a completely unique vocal style which all help make this an extremely well-balanced collection of get-off-your-chair-and-dance tunes. The album features a cast of stellar musicians assisting Dominic in his maiden musical adventure including premier players like guitarist Doug Pettibone (whose impressive list of credits include Sting, Keith Richards, Mark Knopfler, Joan Baez, Jewel, Tracy Chapman, John Mayer, and many others), iconic drummer Kenny Aronoff (whose off-the-hook credits include John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones and a ton more) , bassist Jorgen Carlsson (ex-Gov't Mule) and bassist Brent Harding from Social Distortion. Every song on the album showcases the amazing musicianship of these incredible artists with Dom doing all the lead vocals. The album was produced by Dave Jenkins (producer and co-writer who studied under Brian Wilson – he produced Dolly Parton's version of Heart's classic “Magic Man” with former Heart guitarist Howard Leese). The album was recorded the “old fashion way” with stand-up bass and vintage condenser microphones. The music is both a rockin' album of classic rockabilly and classic country influences along with a few ballads that slow down the frenetic pace a bit. One can hear the influence in Dominic's music that pays a debt to artists like Johnny Cash,Merle Haggard, Bo Diddley, Elvis and the Beach Boys, along with a lot of rockabilly in general.Dominic wrote “Song for Nick” about his brother's passing. Songs “La Verne” & “Ely May,” “Hard to Say Goodbye,” “Just Take it All,” “Poor Me Another,” “Wanna Good Time,” “Rosie” are based on Dom's real-life experiences. While Happy Little Accidents is Dominic's debut album, he has written and previously released two singles “What a World We Live In” and “Out of Control” which were played on US and UK radio. He's also done a little acting on the side, having a bit part in the film, Happy Birthday, which starred Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. https://www.daqofficial.com

Born and raised in North Carolina, Scott's journey in music is as authentic as the songs he sings. With a deep, resonant voice that exudes sincerity and grit, he has carved out a niche for himself in an industry that often favors the mainstream.Scott's musical style harkens back to the golden era of country music, drawing inspiration from legends like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings. His songs are steeped in the rich tapestry of Southern culture, with themes ranging from heartbreak and longing to love and redemption. With each note, Scott transports listeners to the backroads of rural America, where life moves at a slower pace and stories are passed down from generation to generation. One of Scott's defining characteristics as an artist is his unwavering authenticity. He stays true to himself and his roots, eschewing the trappings of commercialism in favor of honest, heartfelt songwriting. This commitment to his craft has earned him a loyal following of fans who appreciate his raw, unfiltered approach to music.Scott's career took off with the release of his debut album, "My Kind of Music," in 2005. The title track, a celebration of all things country, struck a chord with audiences and catapulted him into the spotlight. Since then, Scott has continued to release a string of critically acclaimed albums, including "Rayality" and "Guitar For Sale," each showcasing his remarkable talent as a singer-songwriter.In addition to his solo career, Scott is also known for his collaborations with other artists, including fellow country musician Luke Combs. Together, they co-wrote Combs' hit song "Out There," which became a fan favorite and further solidified Scott's reputation as a master storyteller.Beyond his musical endeavors, Scott is also an avid outdoorsman and a passionate advocate for wildlife conservation. He frequently incorporates his love of hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors into his music, creating a unique blend of country and outdoor lifestyle. As Scott continues to tour and record new music, his impact on the country music landscape only continues to grow. With his soulful voice, compelling songwriting, and down-to-earth persona, he remains a beloved figure in the genre, beloved by fans and respected by peers. In a world that often seems consumed by flash and spectacle, Ray Scott stands as a beacon of authenticity, reminding us of the power of music to connect us to our roots and to each other. Whether he's singing about love, loss, or life in the South, Scott's music resonates with listeners on a deep and personal level, leaving an indelible mark on the country music landscape.www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn www.BetterHelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

In Lee's own words: I was born and raised in Concord, NC. Just Northeast of Charlottle, it was a town of 25,000 back then. As long as I can remember, music was around. Whether it be the turntables or 8 tracks; where my older brothers played rock and roll of the 60s & 70s, Dad listened to older country artists or Mom's Pontiac Bonneville, which seemed to always have the hits playing through it's car stereo from either 61AM Big Ways, 95FM WROQ or 1100 WBT-AM…Music was always a comforting companion. Not coming from a particularly musical family other than them playing the radio, the drum bug came from the next door neighbor playing and then taking it from there. I was playing with records by 8-9 years old; began school band in 7th grade with the natural progression through high school playing in marching, jazz and symphonic bands throughout. Since music was not viewed in my family as something you pursued as a career, I studied English Literature & Writing at Pfeiffer University until my senior year in 1990-91 when long time friend and a musical mentor, Rick Lee, called and said, "I'm forming a new band and you're the drummer." This was the beginnings of my music career and the 2019 Carolina Beach Music Hall Of Fame band, Too Much Sylvia. After leaving TMS in 1994, I played with a few different bands out of Charlotte and all around the East Coast through 1996. In September 1996, a weeklong trip to Nashville, TN put the hook in and I moved to Music City on January 11, 1997. Fortunately, I got club and road work pretty quickly while learning constantly along the way. The idea was to make a living while seeing the world and that plan came to fruition over the years backing artists like Gary Allan, Mark Chesnutt, Heidi Newfield, Kelly Pickler, Loverboy, Kendell Marvel and, now, Hank Williams Jr. Also, to be able to play and share time with some of the finest musicians & people along the way has just been magic. It's a ride I can't get off of...Nor do I want to. Along with time on the road with Hank Jr., I offer drum/percussion tracks to any clients out of the "Boom Boom Drum Room", do club/showcase/session work around town and spend time caring for my family. It's never boring and music is STILL a comforting companion. Hope to see y'all at a show sometime!! We are all big fans of his music & the evolution of it. The Grand Theater in Durant, OK at the Choctaw Casino has become a destination that artists demand to play. Its always on the list of tour dates when Hank Williams Jr. decides to play some shows. After Hank 3, we discuss another metal show at the Diamond w/ Devildriver, Bury Your Dead, & more... Believe it or not, Panic! at the Disco played the Diamond Ballroom on what may have been their very first Oklahoma tour date... There are several shows at numerous venues that include Kyle Gas & Trainwreck, Ted Nugent, Crooked X, Huck Johns, Flyleaf, Korn, Dir En Grey & more... We end discussing a Juggalo show w/ Blaze Ya Dead Homie and special guest: TRIP C!!!!!!!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Her tenure dates back to the earliest days of the Circle Bar. In fact, she likes to say that she came with the building. The former tennis pro and dentist-turned-bartender encountered everyone from Lee Circle winos and touring hipsters to counterculture royalty like Keith Richards and Hunter Thompson. After her time in Austin hanging out with Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bill Hicks, and Sam Kinison and her years as den mother for the circular clubhouse for wayward adults, Caroline is well acquainted with barfly foolishness. It’s just like old times as Caroline joins the Troubled Men. Topics include a hiatus, celebrity spectators, a mayoral recall, Noonie Man, juvenile crime solutions, failing school zones, the Mission District, 2 dominatrices and a priest, Austin in the 1970s, common interests, an Antone’s jam session, Rank & File, a moveable feast, special catering, babysitting Roky Erickson, the Fleur de Lis restaurant, Ben Ellman, a Hank Williams III gig, Kelly Keller, absinthe parties, Jim “the Hound” Marshall, heavy pours, celebrity bartenders, Andre Williams, a close call, Michael Ward’s nighttime circuit, Mike Hurtt, barkeep discretion, and much more. Joe and Paul finally take the plunge into genuine country with Hank Williams III. Paul really REALLY struggles with country and Joe very well knows this. So how will they Rate That Album?
They're almost to 40 real episodes, and boy has it been an adventure. Doug manages to keep his slight case IBS under control for the entire episode and thank goodness he did! If not that would mean that Bill would have to go over everything that they covered, such as: Rush, Danielson/Garcia, ROH's Death Before Dishonor, Rich Karlis, Johnathan Gresham, cool pool parties, Ace Steele, the retelling of Hansel and Gretel, Jake Something, PAC in the UK, LLL at Number 38, post hailstorm and insurance advice, Ricky Starks, and of course FCHS television production stories! With all that being covered why would you listen to anything else?! Especially your parents! ;) Here are a couple of questions for you after listening: Out of Jungle Boy, Ricky Starks, Daniel Garcia, and Sammy Guevara, who has the best chance to be the first world champion? I have never seen a rhino, could you please describe one to me? If I was ranked 19 in the 2022 PWI, would Gresham be ok losing to me? My answers: I personally think it was a big mistake in letting Cody go. I have seen pictures of a rhino, but I can't imagine such a creature exists? 1997 Dean Malenko should have walked out of WCW back then. There's a new performer on the way, and he's one that has a legitimate claim to arguably the most important bloodline in country music history. That's right, the son of Hank Williams III is getting ready to emerge, and to do so under the moniker “IV.” And though all we have to work with at this point is snippets and snapshots, he appears to be taking after pops in more ways than one.The 30-year-old from Nashville is not named Hank, but rather Coleman, and isn't adopting the “Hank” name specifically, only the numeric “IV” as a fourth generation performer in the direct bloodline of Hank Williams as Hank's great grandson.“Four writes folk songs,” says his producer, Jason Dietz. “The band is responsible for turning them into something else. We try to keep an essence of their original form, while adding drums, 100 watt amps, fuzz bass and fiddle.”Jason Dietz is also known as the bass player for the band The Hardin Draw, and has worked with former Hank3 bass player Joe Buck in the past. Guitarist David Talley and fiddler Laura Beth Jewell also of The Hardin Draw are involved in bringing the project to life under what they're calling “The Strange Band.” At the moment they plan to release a debut single from IV called “Son of Sin” on April 4th, with a debut EP coming April 20th.The discovery of “IV” is one of the major reasons that Hank Williams III got involved in country music in the first place. Primarily playing in punk bands and installing garage doors for a living, Hank3 was hit with a paternity suit when Coleman was five-years-old, and told by a judge to “get a real job” to help pay child support. Hank3, who is now 48-years-old, had not known about Coleman prior to the paternity motion. So to help pay child support, Hank3 signed with Curb Records, and emerged as a neotraditional country singer and songwriter in the vein of his grandfather, while playing in metal and punk bands on the side, and forming his own “Hellbilly” style of music. Hank3 released his magnum opus Straight to Hell in 2006, and fulfilled his contract with Curb in 2008 after a contentious relationship. He then went independent, releasing multiple records on his own. Hank3 has been mostly inactive since 2014 after his last tour.Whenever talking about the Hank Williams bloodline, a bit of disambiguation is always necessary. Hank3 is Hank Williams Jr.'s son, and Coleman, a.k.a. “IV” is Hank3's son. Hank Williams Jr. also has another son from a later marriage named Sam Williams, who is also a performer. Hank3 is the half brother of Sam, and of Hilary and Holly Williams, who are also performers. Then there is the case of Ricky Fitzgerald, a.k.a. “Hank Williams IV,” who is also a performer and currently active, and who uses the Hank name on stage. He is the grandson of Lewis “Butch” Fitzgerald, who is the long-rumored supposed illegitimate son of Hank Williams. To take a deep dive into that complex story, CLICK HERE.It's also important to point out that Hank Sr.'s real name was Hiram King, which he changed to Hank, thinking it would be better for country music. The ‘Hank' in Hank Jr. and Hank3's name comes from their given middle name, not their first name: Randall Hank Williams and Shelton Hank Williams respectively. IV's official last name is Finchum after his mother, since at birth he was not in the life of Hank 3. IV though says he's planning to change his last name to Williams. But just to underscore again, “IV” is not claiming the Hank name, even though hypothetically, he possibly could for the stage. Instead he's keeping clear of any controversy that could come from it, while still laying claim to his legitimate standing in the Hank Williams lineage.
Coleman Williams is blazing his own path in music. Nearly 85 years after his great-grandfather Hank Williams made his musical debut, Coleman Williams (also known as IV) is continuing the legacy of country music's most legendary family with his band IV AND THE STRANGE BAND. The only son of Hank Williams III, IV was raised by his mother in Nashville until his high school years, which were spent with his father at Hank3's “haunted ranch.” While the Williams musical blood runs through Coleman, the journey to starting a music career at 29 – the exact age his great grandfather Hank Sr.'s life ended – was necessary for him to fulfill his vision. Being handed a legacy is one thing, but Coleman is determined to earn it. IV AND THE STRANGE BAND's debut single, “Son of Sin,” was released this past April 20th. So let's welcome the newest and freshest sound in country music today, Coleman Williams.

Episode 122 is with Theory from the LT archive. The votes on IG came in and Theory floated to the top. I'm super happy with that. The Theory episode was one of my favorites. He's such an illusive guy and his art adds to that mystery. The things he wanted to talk about were so far out of the typical graffiti interviews. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, but the bullshit questions and topics are so played out in most graffiti media. I feel like I have to keep pointing it out in hopes that we will all expect more from graffiti media outlets. Theory completely bought into what I was trying to do with this project and talking about non-graffiti shit and more experiences. I firmly believe the struggles and experiences make the writers. Not a good chase story, not what brand of paint you use, not the basic bitch things in graffiti. Enough of the rant. Here's the info on the episode. We still a few LT shirts left 5 smalls, 2 mediums, and 2 larges. They can be ordered on the website. Also please support our sponsors. One of the most mysterious writers you'll ever come across. Some things you'll hear in this conversation you'll probably never hear in another graffiti podcast are attacking a bear (not being attacked, but being the aggressor), naked bike rides, living in seclusion for months on end, and a host of other things. Big huge thank you to Theory's wife and Rove for hooking this episode up. I could go on for days about how interesting this episode is, but it's just better for you to check it out. It's pretty life changing and gives you a whole new respect for Theory. Don't forget to listen to the end part after the close with Ryoe and I. The song's he picked for his intro and close were Willie Thrasher – Wolves Don't Live By The Rules and Hank Williams III – 3 Shades of Black. Legends Thursday Graffiti Podcast For Writers By Writers
One of the modern era’s great guitarists is Tomahawk’s Duane Denison. His scorched-earth work with the Jesus Lizard in the 90s was some of the most vital and dangerous-sounding music of that period. Balance that with his contributions to Hank Williams III and the Legendary Shack Shakers, to say nothing of all the other projects he’s been involved with (Firewater, USSA, Revolting Cocks, Pigface), and you have a body of work that is diverse, influential and important. Tomahawk returns with “Tonic Immobility,” the band’s first album in 8 years, on March 26. The first single, “Business Casual,” finds the band right where they left us with “Oddfellows.” Duane’s here to talk Tomahawk and other aspects of his stunning career.

Stanton answered Mark's queries about the apparently imminent apocalypse, thoroughly explained his view on satanism and veganism, talked about his friendships with Charles Manson, Rudy Ray Moore, Matt Skiba of Blink 182 and Hank Williams III, his mother's resemblance to Taylor Swif how his grandfather Anton LaVey may be the original Tiger King, and talked about his new social media platform and his website Baphometx.com and streaming site liberatedx.com Mia had all sorts of questions about the notorious Black House in San Francisco and delighted when Stanton told her about all the serial killers who made their way there to talk with his grandfather and gave her views on Satanism and how it relates to her own Jewish upbringingGet Dark Mark Show merch at teepublic.com/user/dmsThis show is brought to you byAudible go to to www.audibletrial.com/dms for a free audiobook, 2 free audio originals and 30 day free trial to AudibleRaze Energy DrinksGo to https://bit.ly/2VMoqkk and put in the coupon code DMS for 15% off the best energy drinks. There are so many inspiring podcasts with fabulous stars out there. But their careers feel light years away from ours, don’t they? Wouldn’t it be great to hear from the guy who just booked his first pilot? Or the kid finally doing a studio pic after a bunch of low budget indies? Or the woman who’s been a series regular a few times but is only now becoming a name? What about the guy who’s been on a show for years and you know his face but what’shisnameagain? Or that actress who is now a freakin’ showrunner???? How’d THEY do it, right? How did they transition from relative obscurity, bartending and bottle service, to buying that house in Brentwood? We’re producing “Kahnversations,” a podcast that provides access to THOSE people -- your immediate predecessors -- so that you can learn from them while their battle scars are still fresh. In “Kahnversations,” our own Ryan Bailey interviews some of Lesly Kahn & Company’s working actors, directors, and writers in order to learn how they got started in Hollywood, the challenges and hurdles they faced, and how they overcame the odds. (They also dish out some crazy stories!) Listen in and enjoy as these entertainers speak candidly about their paths, processes, and experiences. You might even hear a bit about how Lesly and the Kahnstitute have influenced and shaped their careers.

“I had a laser focus in what I wanted to pursue in terms of being a professional musician.” Jim Riley has been in Nashville, TN for quite some time now and has enjoyed a very balanced and successful career in music. He is the drummer and musical director for the very famous pop country act, Rascal Flatts, a drum teacher for his home studio called “The Drum Dojo”, a clinician and has appeared on Drumeo more than once as well. During the years between 2011 - 2015 and 2017 Jim had been voted “Best Country Drummer” by the readers of Modern Drummer Magazine and he also won the distinction of “Best Drum Clinician” in 2009. Jim has also authored two drum education books, “Survival Guide for the Modern Drummer” and “Song Charting Made Easy”. A third book is expected to be released very soon. Jim has enjoyed a very full career and seems to have found a firm seat at the table of Nashville drummers. He moved to Nashville in 1997 and for the first couple of years Jim’s experiences were touch and go. Early on, he had worked in a drum shop and in fact slept there during the nights on soft drum cases. After that business closed its doors, Jim found himself sleeping in his truck with his dog for a couple of weeks. (Click this link to read more about this story at Drumeo “The Beat”) However, Jim never doubted that the path he had chosen was indeed the best decision for him in the long-run. Jim’s luck began to turn around when he would eventually become roommates with Rich Redmond. Jim had secured a good gig with Mark Chesnutt and everything was going well. On the side he was playing $40 gigs with the guys, who would eventually become Rascal Flatts, and also performed regularly with Hank Williams III. One day, Jay Demarcus said to Jim that if their new project, Rascal Flatts, ever got a record deal they would love to have him as their drummer. And well, we all know how that turned out. A big risk turned into a big reward. Jim never gave up on his dream and it turned into a reality. You Will Hear About…. Jim’s talks about a lecture that he gave at his old high school, Natick High School Jim’s assured confidence that his future was in music The story about Larrie Londin What Nashville is actually like as a music city and advice on approaching it if you just moved there hoping to create a career for yourself The Nashville number system Jim’s story about when he first moved to Nashville and how he eventually got the gig with Rascal Flatts Jim’s advice for musicians who haven’t yet hit their target and definition of success Jim’s new book releasing soon “Improvisational Tools for the Modern Drummer” Why Should You Listen? Jim Riley is living proof that if you want something badly, you can achieve it through hard work and perseverance. Sometimes it is nice to be reminded that the success we desire is obtainable with enough effort put forward. That is a big message behind this episode. You will also have a great explanation of the Nashville number system if you have ever been confused by other explanations or haven’t yet heard of what that is about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMIQG9heAXg Jim’s Socials Instagram Facebook YouTube Website Drumeo Gab’s Socials Instagram Facebook

Opening Monologues. SpyGate Dynamite. The Smell of Fear in the Beltway. The real story is about to happen. An enormous scandal on the verge of blowing wide open. Prediction: The next 60 Days gonna be wild. New York Times finally admits spying did occur, detailing the Obama Administration's deployment of multiple spies against the Trump Campaign in 2016. Including Honeypot Azra Turk, the cartoonishly voluptuous secret agent who went to work on George Papadopoulos. The NYT claims the FBI was "frantic" about the Russian Menace, and therefore simply had to trample the Constitution. But we say the Obama spooks only hoped to harm Team Trump and cover the tracks of their many years of illegal spying. We marvel at the sheer chronic wrongitude of MSM propaganda, as Geraldo Rivera says the media should now be apologizing to President Trump. Meanwhile, it's all hands on deck for Democrats to demonize AG Barr, who is "deadly serious" about getting to the bottom of the origins of all the spying. Thus far, AG Barr appears in line with the maxim of Winston Churchill: "Be a peg, hammered into the frozen ground, immovable." Hence the widespread panic across the Deep State.
