MAK LONDON held her dream close for decades, but due to the hardships of growing up as an immigrant in Canada, Mak's dream of becoming a recording artist was long stifled. But if there is one message that MAK shares with her fans, is that through fortitude and perseverance comes success. Today, MAK find herself sharing the stage with the likes of Brett Kissel, Paul Brandt, Jess Moskaluke and others. When the entire world paused during the pandemic, MAK went straight to work. However, fans and industry in Europe, the US, and of course her home country Canada are also taking notice. MAK is finding herself participating in a flurry of interviews, blogs, podcasts on three continents. “MAK is the kind of artist that doesn't come along too often and if you haven't got her on your radar, you better start learning her name.” Kym Cyr – Editor in Chief, Now And Then Magazine. The debut album, scheduled for release in late fall 2021, was recorded in Calgary and Vancouver, and led by MAK and an exceptional team of music industry powerhouses with multiple awards and industry nominations between them.

With a deeply soulful voice and wisdom far beyond her years, KAIYA is an emerging pop singer, songwriter based in Calgary, Alberta. Her music has been described as a beacon of light containing an undeniable message of empowerment, positivity, and hope. KAIYA is an actively philanthropic artist who regularly performs in support of charitable causes. At only 14 years old, she has already performed for thousands of people at over 40 high profile events. In the words of her producers, " Standing for something and reflecting it in your actions aren't always aligned. In KAIYA, however, there is a perfect synergy between belief and action. She is the perfect antidote to a world where young people are typically burdened with far too much for their age. In this atmosphere of unrealistic expectations and pressure to conform and a lack of genuine connection, KAIYA'S music seems to ease the burden of youths as a transition into young adults." KAIYA'S performance highlights include opening for JUNO award-winning Country Music Artist, Brett Kissel at the 2018 and 2019 #OMGP, for Paul Brandt's 2018 Prairie Rowdy Concert, for 2018 and 2019 #BrettBrettxmas, and being the headlining event at Hayley Wickenheiser's Wickfest 2019 in Calgary and Wickfest 2020 in BC. In 2019 KAIYA was honoured with the Women of Inspiration Youth Excellence Award for her music and philanthropy. On December 7, KAIYA released her first original single called SPEAK OUT. Upon hearing her song, Brett Kissel said "I am so excited for KAIYA to take on the world's stage. When I first heard SPEAK OUT I thought I was listening to a 25 year old artist who has already won two Grammys. KAIYA is honoured to be a part of the Inspiring Possibilities Series, as she counts Michelle Cameron Coulter as one of her inspirations. In this episode of the Ordinary Courage Podcast I have the absolute honor of hearing Maddison's story, told through her Mama, Jennifer Ann Holleman. This is a story about loss, Human Trafficking and a mothers fight for justice, for inner healing and to tell the story of Maddison to anyone who will listen. This episode is brutally painful and hard to hear. But we need to hear these stories because this atrocity is far from over. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter." I'm here to tell you- THIS. MATTERS. From Jennifer:In 2015, my world changed forever. Maddison was killed in a horrific car accident in Edmonton, Alberta. The man driving was intoxicated, the man driving was a “John”. Although Maddison was killed by a drunk driver, I see the ultimate cause of her death to be Human Trafficking. Since her death, there have been two year long investigations. No justice has ever been served for what happened to my daughter. I have taken it upon myself to become an advocate for Human Trafficking. In my Community, my Province, my Country. I have spoke at many conferences, to schools and at AGM's for various organizations, as well as to the Standing Committee for Justice and Human Rights. I have just recently spoken to Paul Brandt and the Alberta Human Trafficking Task Force and am looking forward to working with them in the near future. In the Fall of 2020, I was nominated for the Gwangju Prize for Human Rights, initiated in South Korea. To even be considered for this award was incredibly humbling. Losing Maddison has been the most difficult time in my life. It was a big decision to make the choice to tell her story, as it keeps this loss so fresh. I have always maintained that if sharing what happened to her, helps just one young women, then her death was not in vain. And I can say without a doubt, that so many more have been touched. I will continue on this journey as long as long as Human Trafficking is a crises in this Country and for as long as I am physically able. Education and awareness are the key factors in keeping our youth safe. What happened to Maddison, should never happen to any young woman. Ever.Follow Jennifer:https://www.instagram.com/jennielou42/1-833-900-1010For immediate assistance, call the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-833-900-1010. An internationally celebrated artist, Jess Moskaluke continues to break barriers in the country music world with her big voice, pop-infused hooks and sonic versatility. She was also notably the first Canadian female country artist since 2008 to have a song in the Top 3 with “Drive Me Away”, and has notched another SIX Top 10 hits in addition to that including her first ever NUMBER ONE “Country Girls”. The 2017 JUNO Award winner for ‘Country Album of the Year', Moskaluke is also the 2018 CCMA Award winner for “Album of the Year”, a three-time consecutive CCMA “Female Artist of the Year” Award winner – the first resident of Saskatchewan in the history of the awards to achieve this title – a 2017 SOCAN Award winner and most recently took home the 2020 WCM Award for ‘Country Artist of the Year'. Taking 2020 by storm with “Country Girls” topping the charts, Moskaluke's follow-up track “Halfway Home” landed in the Top 5 at Australian country radio, where last fall she was invited to play at C2C Music Festival and asked to take part in CMC's “Songs and Stories” series, performing six songs for a one-hour special. Nominated for her seventh consecutive “Female Artist of the Year” award at the 2020 CCMA Awards, Moskaluke delivered a memorable performance of “Country Girls” during the national broadcast. Adversity Is God's Call for Self – Examination: 1 Corinthians 11:31-32 “But if we judge ourselves, we would not come under judgment. When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.” Revelation 3:19 “Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.”The Value of Pain: In the physical realm pain is one of our greatest protectors. In his book Where Is God When It Hurts, Dr. Paul Brandt speaks of how important pain is to us. What is the first thing you do when you feel pain? You stop and look to see what the problem is, you self – examine.Proverbs 28:13. “He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Let's focus on the word prosperity. In the Hebrew it means to push forward, to go over to advance. A. God requires that we search out, confess and renounce, (forsake) our sins. B. The presence of sin results in powerlessness. C. John prayed for his friend Gaius that he would prosper in all things and be in good health, even as his soul prospered. 3 John 2. It was John's prayer that Gaius would have a right relationship with the Lord so that God would allow him to push forward, or advance, in business and health. D. If we conceal our sin, we will not prosper. It is for lack of self – examination that many Christians grow cold and self – sufficient. That is one reason why God allows adversity. Adversity forces us to look at our lives. To see what we are doing or not doing which results in pain. Have you noticed that much of the pain you experience is the result of choices you have made which were not directed by the Lord? Self – examination often reveals self – sufficiency. It hurts to realize how we have hurt others and ourselves. But stop and think how much we grieve the Lord when we walk in our strength and understanding. God wants us to depend on Him. Adversity will once again cause us to see things in the proper perspective. The easiest thing to do is to ignore sin. Like cancer, our sin will eat away at our relationship with the Lord until we are obeying the lusts of our flesh and have fallen into spiritual death.Sin is sin. We can have our consciences seared and dulled until we no longer feel that we are grieving the Holy Spirit. Then God doesn't hear from us until we are floundering in our own sea of despair. 1 Corinthians 11:31-32 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 32When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world. If you are experiencing adversity today, stop running. Stop blaming others for what is happening. Stop and look at your life. Is there hidden sin, is there something which stands in the way of the Lordship of Jesus Christ in you life? Are there things which need to be submitted to His Lordship? Then do so. Deal with the plank in your eye before you concern yourself with the speck in someone else's. God wants you to prosper and push ahead in your spiritual walk. Let's remove every obstacle that we may prosper, push forward in our spiritual walk, in our life and health.
