Jenna Kopitske might be young, but she already has a resumé that most folks would give their right arm for. But she's not resting on the successes she's garnered so far. She's a worker. A hard worker. Between composing gorgeous pieces on the piano, working as a touring and session drummer, and recording some exceptional originals, she keeps "riding the wave" to successively bigger things. This episode is a deep dive into the nuances of collecting Vintage Paiste Cymbals with Dan Garza, a die hard Paiste enthusiast and the moderator of the Paiste section on Cymbal.Wiki. We cover everything from the different alloys that are used in production, the variations in serial numbers, production techniques, and all the cymbal lines up to the 70's (that will continue on in part 2). We are lead to believe that the bass drum pedal was invented in the USA, and that the drum set as we know it today was first created in the states - but Fritz shares examples that show many revolutionary drum inventions that were first created in Europe. We also discuss brands like Sonor, Trixon, Paiste, plus drumming and drum building in communist countries and many other great facts and stories along the way. Fritz is a veteran in the drum industry and has owned and operated DrumHouse Freiberg since 2001 in Germany. In the last 6 years, 45 children who were alone in the asylum seeker system and who were in the care of the State have been arrested missing and unaccounted for. Le 6 bliana anuas tá 45 páiste a bhí ina n-aonar sa gcóras lorgtha dídine agus a bhí faoi chúram an Stáit gaibhte ar iarraidh agus gan cuntas orthu. That's according to figures obtained from the children and families agency Tusla. Sin de réir fhigiúirí atá faighte ón ngíomhaireacht leanaí agus teaghlaigh Tusla. A total of 62 children unaccompanied by an adult have gone missing while in the care of the State since 2017, but 17 of them have been found again since then. San iomlán chuaigh 62 páiste gan duine fásta in éineacht leo ar iarraidh agus iad faoi chúram an Stáit ó 2017, ach fritheadh an athuair 17 díobh ó shin. In 2019 the figures were the worst, when 24 children disappeared without an account, only 6 of them have since been found. I 2019 ba mheasa na figiúirí, tráth ar imigh 24 páiste gan cuntas, gan faighte ó shin ach 6 acu. Number of single children missing since 2017: Source: Tusla Tusla says there are currently 201 children unaccompanied by an adult in the care of the State. Munar féidir an gasúr a athaontú lena gclann, in Éirinn nó thar lear, curtar an páiste faoi chúram altrama, nó in aonad cúram cónaitheach nó i lóistín a bhfuil tacaíocht curtha ar fáil lena gcuid riachtanais a shásamh. If a child is thought to be missing the Gardaí are contacted and it is up to that force to investigate the situation. Má cheaptar go bhfuil páiste gaibhte ar iarraidh curtar fios ar na Gardaí agus is faoin bhfórsa sin an scéal a fhiosrú. Tusla says that they themselves - as they say the State authorities and the public in general - are concerned about the international trafficking of children. Deir Tusla go bhfuil imní orthu féin – mar atá a deir siad ar údaráis an Stáit agus ar an bpobal i gcoiteann – faoin mangaireacht idirnáisiúnta páistí. For the past year they say they have been collaborating with MECPATHS to disseminate information and train carers and health professionals about child molestation in Ireland. Thanks for checking out episode 44 with Martin Potts who works for the distributor KORG UK in a role as UK Artist Relations for Paiste, Vic Firth & Mapex drums but also has control of the marketing for Mapex in the UK.In this episode, Martin and I chat about his history of playing drums which included him reaching grade 8 at a young age, but sadly due to problems with arthritis couldn't persue much in his playing career. So we naturally discussed his journey of working within the musical instruments industry and how he started working in a drum shop and has worked his way up in the world of musical instrument distribution within multiple companies to where he is today and how the industry has changed over the years. We also discussed some interesting topics such as artist endorsements and what Artist Relations at drum companies look for in new artists and how artists should initially approach them with regards to applications etc. Martin also talked about how he organises the marketing side of things for Mapex including social media content and how difficult it can be to get it right. Overall, a really interesting conversation from another side of the drum world that doesn't often get covered on this show.I hope you enjoy this free episode, please subscribe to the podcast via your podcast provider & YouTube, like and review where you can and share with anyone else who might be interested. If you've enjoyed any of my episodes, please consider joining my Patreon community via Patreon at http://www.patreon.com/drumforthesong/ for access to exclusive content, group video calls, competitions, giveaways plus 20% discount at http://www.motorhead-beer.comI'd like to give a special thanks to my top-tier 'Groove Master' Patrons for their extended support. Flags will be flown at half-mast every day until sunset on Saturday as a tribute to the dead. Beidh bratacha ar leathchrann gach lá go dtí dul faoi na gréine Dé Sathairn mar chomhartha ómóís do na mairbh. But neither Texas Governor Greg Abbot nor Texas Senator Ted Cruz were listening to the president 's pleas. Ach níor léir go raibh Gobhanóir Texas, Greg Abbot, ná an Seandadóír Ted Cruz as Texas, ag tabhairt éisteacht d'impí an uachtaráin.
This week we conclude our deep dive into "Are You Out There," the Thin Lizzy-inspired 2020 single that became a featured track on Night Demon's brand-new Year of the Demon compilation album. Jarvis walks you through the lyrics, line by line, tying them not only to the tragic tale of Phil Lynott's downfall but also to much more personal experiences and observations. The guys also break down the music, from the atypical bridge to the licks to the drum fills to the acoustic guitar nestled in the mix. You will hear about the cover art and specifically the collaborative effort of two talented artists to bring this vision to life, as well as the killer black and white back cover photo. Night Demon talk about the live premier of the song in Asheville, NC, and discuss their hopes and plans for this track in the live set going forward. Dochar déanta do 46 páiste a bhí faoi chúram meabhairshláinte. There is clear evidence that 46 children have been significantly harmed by the type of mental health care provided to them in Co Kerry, according to a report published today. Tá fianaise shoiléir ann go ndearnadh dochar suntasach do 46 páiste mar gheall ar an saghas cúraim mheabhairshláinte a cuireadh ar fáil dóibh i gCo Chiarraí, a deirtear i dtuarascáil a foilsíodh inniu. This relates to the review of mental health services provided by the Health Service Executive to over 1,300 children in South Kerry over a number of years. Baineann an scéal leis an athbhreithniú a rinneadh ar na seirbhísí meabhairshláinte a chuir Feidhmeannacht na Seirbhíse Sláinte ar fáil do bhreis agus 1,300 páiste i gCiarraí Theas le roinnt blianta. The review also states that 227 children were at risk because of their diagnosis and the type of care provided to them by a junior doctor. Maítear san athbhreithniú chomh maith go raibh 227 páiste i mbaol mar gheall ar an diagnóis a rinne dochtúir sóisearach orthu agus mar gheall ar an saghas cúraim a chuir an dochtúir sin ar fáil dóibh. The review was initiated in April last year after a number of people expressed concern about the doctor's work. Tionscnaíodh an t-athbhreithniú san Aibreán anuraidh tar éis do roinnt daoine tabhairt le fios go raibh imní orthu faoi obair an dochtúra. The doctor did not participate in the review and his / her name is not given in the report. Níor ghlac an dochtúir páirt san athbhreithniú agus ní thugtar a (h)ainm sa tuarascáil. The doctor was employed for five years by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, a division of the Health Service Executive. Bhí an dochtúir fostaithe ar feadh cúig bliana ag Seirbhísí Meabhairshláinte do Leanaí agus d'Ógánaigh, rannóg de chuid Fheidhmeannacht na Seirbhíse Sláinte. The Executive has apologized to the families of the 227 children involved. Tá leithscéal gafa ag an bhFeidhmeannacht le muintreacha an 227 leanbh atá i dtreis. The 46 children who were significantly harmed are said to have gained a lot of weight, developed high blood pressure and have been sedentary during the day while in the care of the Executive. Maidir leis an 46 leanbh a ndearnadh dochar suntasach dóibh, deirtear gur chuir siad suas go leor meáchain, gur tháinig ardbhrú fola orthu agus gur támhaíodh iad i rith an lae agus iad faoi chúram na Feidhmeannachta. The report also highlights oversight in the mental health service in South Kerry. Tarraingítear aird sa tuarascáil freisin ar chúrsaí maoirseachta sa tseirbhís mheabhairshláinte i gCiarraí Theas. It is said that the junior doctor was supervised by the service's consultant psychiatrist, who did not notice the problems that arose during the years 2017 and 2018. Deirtear nár thug síciatraí comhairleach na seirbhíse a bhí ag déanamh maoirseachta ar an dochtúir sóisearach, nár thug sé / sí faoi deara na fadhbanna a tháinig chun cinn i gcaitheamh na mblianta 2017 agus 2018. No evidence was found that those problems were addressed even though they were highlighted in 2018, it is said. Níor aimsíodh aon fhianaise go ndeachthas i ngleic leis na fadhbanna sin cé gur tarraingíodh aird orthu in 2018, a deirtear. Not only that but in addition, in 2020, the junior doctor was recommended for other positions. Ní amháin sin ach lena chois, in 2020, moladh an dochtúir sóisearach do phoist eile.

We pick up the Paiste history in the 1970's when 2002's were king and all the famous European rock bands were representing Paiste. The company also lost its distribution deal with Ludwig in the early 70's and had a period of about 4 or 5 years where distribution in America was slim to none - until they made a deal with Rogers that brought the iconic cymbals state-side. This and much much more is discussed in this episode, plus Dan corrects a few things from the first episode that came to light in the short time between us recording these two shows. Dan Garza is an admin on the Paiste section of the great cymbal.wiki and is a lifetime Paiste fanatic. He has done extensive research on this somewhat mysterious company and compiled great information for this episode.
