One of the greatest markers of our adult life is when we fully come to realize that we were designed with intention, created for a specific purpose and mission. Nothing God has ever done has been an accident, and He knows every part of you, even the talents you might not have realized yet. Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.” No matter where life takes you, you can trust that He knows where you're headed, and is guiding you through every step. Our guests this week each have beautiful abilities that they consider to be gifts from God. Aaron Tippin is a country music star who enjoyed great popularity in the 90's, but before that, grew up on a family farm, where he learned to fly planes with his father and absolutely fell in love with being in the air, and being “closer to heaven” as he likes to describe. Eleven year-old Jude Kofie, who experiences autism, surprised his family—especially his father Isaiah, who worried about his future—when he walked in to hear Jude playing their portable keyboard like a seasoned pianist, though he'd never played before in his life. When piano tuner Bill Magnusson heard their story on the news, he was compelled to help this family and gave a gift that would allow Jude to realize his potential in a bigger way, and a beautiful relationship was born that has been a gift to them all. And when I looked out the window and I saw those cars on the ground looking like Hot Wheels toys, I said, ‘This is it. There's nothing greater.'” - Aaron Tippin “Getting close to Christ during those [early days in Nashville], was very, very comforting. You find out you're not as alone as you think you are.” - Aaron Tippin “I don't know where my next blessing is going to be. I'm not sure I want to know or need to know. I believe that He does have a plan. God's not through me yet.” - Aaron Tippin “I know how important it is to have a good instrument to practice on and how lovely it is to have a wonderful piano to play on to make beautiful music.” - Bill Magnusson “That wonderful gift [of a piano], that selfless act, is what secured Jude's future. It was taking all our worries away.” - Isaiah Kofie “We seem to live in a world where people are utterly desperate for a little bit of good news and to feel a little better than they feel right now.” - Bill Magnusson “I just bought a piano and that was all I did. Ask one of his countless fans – or even one of his peers, and they will tell you that Sammy Kershaw definitely qualifies as a Country Music original. In a day and age where individuality isn't something that is sought out as much as before, when you hear a Sammy Kershaw song about heartbreak, love, or good times – you know who it is. You don't have to be told. And, in a career that has seen some amazing highs over the past thirty-five years, the best – as they say – is yet to come.Growing up in Kaplan, Louisiana, Kershaw was enthralled with the masters at an early age – names like Conway Twitty, Mel Street, and George Jones. In fact, as a teenager, Kershaw had developed such a reputation for his vocals – even then – that he was often called upon to open for those acts, and others like them. Jones was so impressed with Sammy that he frequently used him on his shows whenever he was playing in the region.Of all the artists that Kershaw has worked with over the years, it very well might be Jones that left the most impact. From the moment that he released his debut single for Mercury Records, “Cadillac Style,” critics and fans all made the comparison. Rather than run from them, Kershaw embraced them. After all, that stone Country sound was what Sammy Kershaw was all about – and that's what he was going to give his fans! “Cadillac Style” made it all the way to No. 3 on the Billboard charts, and from there (to quote Jones), the race was on! Follow-ups such as “Don't Go Near The Water” and “I Can't Reach Her Anymore” established him as one of the finest traditional artists of his time, while records like “Yard Sale” showed that haunting Jones influence was very much a part of everything he is about. In 1993, Sammy Kershaw topped the singles chart for the first time with “She Don't Know She's Beautiful,” which has become one of the most-played records at Country Radio over the past two decades. Albums such as Don't Go Near The Water and Haunted Heart were both certified as million-sellers by the RIAA, and only continued to add to his stature. The hits kept coming on the airwaves, as well. He added to his resume such classics as “I Can't Reach Her Anymore,” “Meant To Be,” his cover of The Amazing Rhythm Aces' “Third Rate Romance,” and 1998's “Love Of My Life,” which cemented his reputation as a balladeer.Kershaw can be found out on the road – both on his own as well as part of the successful Roots & Boots tour with Collin Raye and Aaron Tippin. The three continue to bring their signature sounds to the fans year-after-year all over North America. But, Sammy Kershaw is not resting on his laurels – though he very well could. His 2014 George Jones tribute disc Do You Know Me was his highest-charting project in fifteen years, and has only whetted the appetites of his fans for more recordings. Afterwards, he completed a brand new album for Cleopatra Records that industry insiders are saying is one of the best releases he has ever done. He has also developed quite a strong social fan base via Facebook and Twitter, having done so in an organic fashion – very much one on one, the way he's always preferred to do it! And, if that's not enough, Kershaw is putting the finishing touches on his long-awaited autobiography – which promises to be as juicy as a bowl of the gumbo he loves to prepare in his Louisiana home! So, make no mistake about it. The past has been a great, long-winding road of highs and lows for Sammy Kershaw, but to quote one of his past singles, the goal isn't to rest on those accomplishments, but to be “Better Than I Used To Be.”This episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

Our CDs are all available as digital downloads. Radio stations from Australia to the UK to South America to Japan to Sweden and everywhere in between have played our songs. CDs have been downloaded in over 25 countries worldwide. Joey's Song was started in 2010 following the death of four-year-old Joey Gomoll, who passed one week shy of his fifth birthday. Joey suffered from a rare and debilitating form of epilepsy known as Dravet Syndrome. Dravet's caused persistent seizures which were never able to be controlled through medications leading to severe learning disabilities. While Dravet's robbed Joey of the ability to speak, Joey remained a happy and fun-loving child. He was happiest when music was playing, allowing him to hum, drum, and sing in his own way. To be present when music was playing meant only one thing, that Joey would soon have you dancing and enjoying the music with him.
We had a great time on the Podcast with Terry, Ray and Billy of the iconic group McBride & The Ride...When they first began releasing music in 1989, McBride & The Ride released three acclaimed albums Burnin' Up The Road, Sacred Ground, and Hurry Sundown, with hit singles like "Love on the Loose, Heart on the Run," “Sacred Ground,” "Going Out of My Mind," and many more. In the spring of 2021, they announced they were reuniting and going back in the studio to record new music. Though the band has been on and off over the past 30 years, its members have thrived through their individual careers. Ray Herndon has been Lyle Lovett's lead guitarist since 1985 and has had songs cut by Kenny Chesney, Aaron Tippin, Lee Greenwood, Linda Davis and more, he continues to operate his family's historic club, Handlebar J, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Terry McBride has had quite a fruitful career, writing major hits for Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Easton Corbin, Cody Johnson and more. He toured with Brooks & Dunn through most of their biggest years playing bass and writing songs. Billy Thomas moved to Nashville from Los Angeles in 1987 and immediately started working with Vince Gill along with many other country stars including Emmylou Harris, Patty Loveless, Steve Warner & Earl Scruggs. He's been Gill's drummer on the road and in the studio ever since, adding background vocals to his many hits, as well as joining him as a member of The Time Jumpers, one of Nashville's favorite bands. The trio's upcoming EP, Marlboros & Avon, produced by all three members, is set to release in 2023, their first offering of original music in nearly 30 years. My name is Justin Lane, aka JP Lane. Many people have their own reasoning for joining the military, mine is probably similar to most my age, in 2001, watching the twin towers fall. I was reminded of that feeling when I was old enough to sign up. At the age of 20, In 2008, I joined the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer. I was deployed, in 2010, to Afghanistan to search for IED's (Improvised Explosive Device). I was blown up 3 separate times, and the 3rd one got me. July 2nd, 2011, I was blown up by a 200lb IED while on mission. It was the first IED to penetrate an RG31 truck. The blast resulted in putting me in a coma for 6 weeks. I lost both my legs, right arm snapped in half, lost my four front teeth, pelvis snapped in half, spine dislocated from my pelvis, and everything in my torso was destroyed by shrapnel except for my heart and left lung. In total, I received 26 injuries, and had 28 surgeries, this completely changed my life. Doctors said I wasn't going to be able to do many things, like, use prosthetics because my legs were so badly damaged. Also, that I wouldn't be able to speak properly or sing ever again because of a tracheotomy. With each day, I am proving them wrong. I am one of the few double amputee recording artist. God wasn't finish with me yet. Since I got my prosthetics, I have performed for 2 Presidential Inaugurations, Presidents, Obama and Trump. I have performed with Lee Greenwood, Neil McCoy, Aaron Tippin, Jason Castro, and more. I have performed for non-profit organizations such as Adapt-a-Vet, Helping a Hero, which are in support of our military. Also, performed for organizations that support the local community, like, Taking it to the Streets, who feed the homeless, and G.A.N.G Outreach in Colorado, that provides positive/encouraging sport camps for underprivileged kids. I signed the dotted line, when I joined the Army, to SERVE and protect the American people, and since I am still alive, by the grace of God, I will still serve. Retirement is just a word! I also do motivational speaking to share my story and give hope to those who need it. I let people know to “Never Give Up, Never Surrender.” I have also been able to perform and inspire thousands in Brazil and Mexico. My goal is to impact the world with more than just music. Changing hearts and minds one at a time. In a situation like mine, most people would look in the mirror and feel that no one would want them. But, I was blessed to have found someone who not only loves me for me, but also supports my career and my passion of singing. Crystal, now my beautiful bride as of Feb. 2018, has been a huge support for me and given my life more purpose. We now work together inspiring couples around us, telling them the amazing story of what brought us together. April 1st thru the 9th, I went back to AFGHANISTAN to have a “proper exit.” I was able to visit the hospital I was first recovering at after being blown up. Since I was in a coma, I did not remember much of the hospitals, and traveling I did during that time. As I visited different bases around Afghanistan, I was welcomed back with open arms from thousands of troops. I was proud to walk down the welcome ceremonial row, holding my “NICE TRY TAILBAN” shirt. One of the most amazing feelings was getting to wear the U.S. Army uniform once again, but nothing compared to the feeling of getting to leave the country on my own two feet, prosthetic feet, with my head held high! Upon returning from Afghanistan, it seemed like my story was about to end. Crystal and I were in a serious car accident that rolled our jeep and destroyed our car. Airbags went off in every direction, and glass shattered with every turn of our vehicle. Thank God we were wearing our seat belts, otherwise the damage we received would have been worse. Most of the damage was psychological, bringing back horrible dreams of the accident on a nightly basis, and having brought fear to Crystal with sitting in the passenger seat each day. But as a part of the strong and determined Lane family, we will overcome. Nothing in this world will defeat us or bring us down! Our guest today is one Sarah Harralson from Nashville, by way of Knoxville, TN. Sarah began writing songs when she was ten years old, her bluegrass musician grandfather being her biggest musical influence. After her grandfather passed in 2011, Sarah decided she would move to Nashville in 2013 to pursue music at Belmont University. Upon the release of hearing her debut EP Finally Found, in 2014 Music Connection Magazine wrote “Sarah Harralson presents honest, bare-boned recordings that are authentic.” A year later after releasing Finally Found, she was discovered by Scotty Schultz, drummer of Shooter Jennings (Waylon Jennings's son). Scotty opened up his publishing company, Raindrop Music LLC, in 2015 and after hearing Sarah's original song “Watered Down Whiskey”, he knew he wanted to sign her right away. Scotty decided he would produce her first country EP, Watered Down Whiskey, of all original songs that Sarah has either written or co-written.One of the tracks on the EP includes the song, “Radio Static” that was co-written with Johnny Garcia (lead guitar for Garth Brooks). Over time, Sarah began writing and working with Johnny, which evolved to the point where Sarah would sign her next publishing deal with Busy at Play Publishing (Johnny Garcia's company) in February 2020. During 2020, she has released singles, "Put a Rock on This Rolling Stone", "Get Lost in Some Rock 'N Roll", and holiday single, "Frosty", since signing with Busy at Play Publishing. Her 2021 singles include, "The Chance", "The America I Knew", "Love on Lease (Reimagined)", "Bottom of the Glass", and a jazz version of "Silent Night". A new single, "Whiskey History" was released on January 14th of this year. You can Sarah find her playing local shows in Nashville when she is not out of town. Her stage credibility includes opening for the likes of Aaron Tippin, Bucky Covington, and also included on festival rosters with Jason Aldean and Old Dominion as headliners. Besides performing, Sarah also produces music herself and decided to release a collaborative album, West of Me, with co-writer Christine Bauer in early 2019 that she self-produced. You can also hire her to write and record a song for you or your loved one through websites, Songfinch, SoundBetter, or Fiverr. In June 2021, she was invited to be a voting member of The Recording Academy as a vocalist and songwriter. She also plays at hospitals as a volunteer musician once a month for Musicians On Call. Sarah hopes that her music will help people in some way across the world. She is a big believer that music heals and aims to present her music in a way that is relatable for others and can heal any open wounds. For our conversation today, we'll be discussing country artist Brandy Clark and her debut record 12 Stories, which was recorded with produced Dave Brainard and released on October 22, 2013, through Slate Creek Records. Enjoy the conversation!
Draw Your Line in the Sand! As the Aaron Tippin song goes… “You've got to Stand for Something, or You'll Fall for Anything”. And boy is our world falling for anything right now, or WHAT?! It is because we have forgotten what we stand for. What is the great “falling away” or “apostasy” that will allow the Man of Sin to be revealed? As parents do our children understand what we stand for and even more importantly why we stand for it? Especially as “called out remnant” parents are we consistent and do we stand by what we believe to be true no matter what and why do we believe what we believe? Does what we believe change with every new “fragment” found in a cave or every new extra-biblical “lost” book that is unearthed?? However, most importantly of all before we can consistently stand by what believe ‘no matter what', do we know why we believe what we believe, and do we teach our children consistently why we believe what we believe no matter what? Or are we sending mixed and compromising messages?

Buck agreed to take time out of his very busy schedule to chat with us about his roots in country music, and has an interesting backstory about how he transitioned from a pro motocross rider to putting a band together to recording and playing alongside some of the biggest names in country music. On the day of our recording, he was getting ready to play a sold out show in his hometown in California to showcase his his 6th album, due out in January. This week we welcome, country music stars, Leona Williams and Aaron Tippin! Leona Williams was destined to become a Country Music Entertainer. She landed her first radio show at the age of 15, simply called "Leona Sings" in Jefferson City, Missouri. That journey would take her all over the world and allow her to sing before thousands and thousands of Country Music fans. Leona moved to Nashville in the late 1960s from a small town in Missouri called Vienna, and was soon recording for Hickory Records with such hits as "Once More" and "Yes Ma'am, He Found Me In A Honky Tonk". Since then, Leona has traveled worldwide and opened shows for some of country music's top entertainers and made numerous personal appearances at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Leona later teamed up with Merle Haggard for a top ten duet called "The Bull and the Beaver" and a duet album followed called HEART TO HEART. During this time, she would write some of Merle's biggest hits including "You Take Me For Granted" and "Someday When Things Are Good." Leona, a Missouri native, was inducted into the Country Music Association of Texas Hall of Fame in 1999. She was also honored with the prestigious George D. Hay Award in 2002 and was also inducted into the Missouri Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2011, Leona was awarded "Entertainer of the Year" by R.O.P.E. (Reunion of Professional Entertainers). Whether in a recording studio, dance or concert hall or on stage at the Grand Ole Opry, Leona Williams always gives her very best to her fans and her music. She definitely presents a special class to the world of Country Music. For more information visit her website: LeonaWilliams.com. Aaron Tippin was part of the commercial explosion of new traditionalist country in the early '90s, making his name with a mixture of macho, rowdy honky tonkers, sentimental ballads, and patriotic working-man's anthems. He was born in Pensacola, Florida, in 1958 and grew up mostly on a family farm near Greer, South Carolina, where he first started singing to pass the time while doing chores. He started playing guitar at age ten but also inherited a love of flying from his father, who'd worked as a pilot prior to becoming a farmer. Aaron earned his pilot's license at 15 and began flying professionally before the age of 20. He was studying to become a commercial airline pilot when the industry took a major downturn, which convinced him to return to music. He played the local honky tonk circuit and worked on his songwriting while holding a series of blue-collar day jobs. Unfortunately, his marriage broke up, and with nothing to lose, he finally moved to Nashville in 1986. He landed a job as a staff songwriter at the legendary Acuff-Rose firm, where his compositions were recorded by the likes of Charley Pride, Mark Collie, and David Ball, among others. In 1990, his demo tape landed him a contract with RCA. Aaron's debut album, “You've Got to Stand for Something”, was released in 1991; its title cut became a Top Ten smash in the wake of the Persian Gulf War, and Tippin was invited along on Bob Hope's USO tour. His second album, 1992's “Read Between the Lines”, was a million-selling Top Ten smash, producing three Top Ten singles in "I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way," "My Blue Angel," and his first number one, "There Ain't Nothing Wrong with the Radio." 1993's “The Call of the Wild” underlined his penchant for rabble-rousing anthems like "Honky Tonk Superman," the Top Ten "Working Man's Ph.D.," and the Top 20 title cut. The following year's “Lookin' Back At Myself” was less successful, but 1995's “Tool Box” returned him to the top of the singles charts with "That's as Close as I'll Get to Loving You." He also remarried that same year. Around 2000 “People Like Us”, became his first album to make the country Top Five, thanks to the number one smash "Kiss This," a song co-written by his wife Thea. The post-September 11 anthem "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly" was a crossover smash, not only reaching number two on the country charts but also climbing into the pop Top 20. In 2013 he set out on the road with fellow country singers Sammy Kershaw and Joe Diffie on a tour called “All in the Same Boat”; the trio released an accompanying album of the same name in May. Aaron continues to tour and Branson is on his list. For more information, music and tour dates, visit his website: AaronTippin.com.
