At 48-years-old, Catt was looking in the mirror and frustrated by her changing face. She looked tired and sad and quite different than how she felt on the inside. So she did something about it. In her quest to continue the many conversations related to mid-life and aging, she documented her experience. After a huge swell of public interest, she has been discussing the surgery itself, and the healing process that has followed. Today we get an update one year later. What would she do differently? Does she have any regrets? How is the scarring? Oh – and she also address the haters. The judgement. The criticism she received for her decision to go under the knife and tell the truth about it (unlike the many public figures who claim they're getting more sleep or had an extended vacation LBH). If you were curious about a facelift, or neck lift, or blepharoplasty – press play on another raw and vulnerable offering from our host. And a reminder, you can go back and listen to her earlier episodes documenting the journey in real time, namely with her doctor Steve Kim from SK Plastic Surgery. Why have issues of human rights become so contentious in Indonesia, 25 years after the much-heralded post-Suharto democratic transition? What kind of role has the Indonesian Foundation of Legal Aid Institutes, or LBH, performed in this field? Should those working on human rights try to work with governments and power-holders, or adopt an oppositional stance towards them? Timothy Mann is a postdoctoral researcher at the Nordic Institute of Asian Studies, and recently completed his PhD on Indonesian human rights issues at the University of Melbourne. In this podcast, Tim discusses his research on LBH and the dilemmas faced by those campaigning for greater human rights in a rapidly-changing Indonesia. I made a series of mech interp puzzles for my MATS scholars, which seemed well received, so I thought I'd share them more widely! I'll be posting a sequence of puzzles, approx one a week - these are real questions about models which I think are interesting, and where thinking about them should teach you some real principle about how to think about mech interp. Content warnings this episode: None Hugo statistics by Nicholas Whyte and Kat Jones E Pluribus Hugo It was up for reratification at Chicon 8 Nicholas Whyte wrote about EPH in 2015 Credits Cover art: What If…? by Alison Scott Alt text: Three figures with long brown hair and brown bears are central in the image. They look eerily like Chris Garcia. The left Chris Garcia is wearing John's glasses and a Flintstones shirt with his arms folded; the central Chris Garcia is wearing Alison's glasses and a black shirt with his (her?) arms outstretched and fingers doing horns; and the right Chris Garcia is wearing a stripy blue-and-white top and appears to be doing a wrestling move in a downward fashion. The left Chris Garcia has a speech bubble saying “WELCOME TO THE VERY 69TH EPISODE OF OCTOTHORPE. I'M CHRIS GARCIA”. The central Chris Garcia has a speech bubble saying “I'M CHRIS GARCIA”. The right Chris Garcia has a speech bubble saying “AND I'M CHRIS GARCIA. IN THIS EPISODE I REVEAL MY MULTITASKING TIPS”. The text “What if… all three of us were Chris Garcia? appears in a typeface reminiscent of classic Tintin covers in the top-centre of the artwork. The top-left corner has “Octothorpe 69 Nov 2022” written in the style of a comic cover; the top-right corner has “Rejected by the Comics Code Authority”. In the bottom-right hand corner the words “You can catch Chris Garcia every month in Journey Planet and the Drink Tank” appear. A barcode in the bottom-left hand corner is actually cunningly-disguised text that reads (ROT13 to avoid spoilers) “Lbh ner Puevf Tnepvn naq V pynvz zl svir cbhaqf”. The background is two shades of purple. Theme music: “Fanfare for Space” by Kevin MacLeod (CC BY 4.0)

Indonesia's longest-standing and most prominent "cause lawyering" organisation, the Legal Aid Institute or LBH, was founded in the early days of Soeharto's authoritarian regime in 1970. Cause lawyering broadly refers to using the law to achieve social change. Throughout much of its history, LBH has faced the challenge of pursuing this mission in a context in which victory in the courtroom has been highly unlikely. How have LBH's lawyers pursued social change in circumstances where victory in the courtroom has often been highly unlikely? Did democratisation open new opportunities for cause lawyering? How has LBH responded as the quality of democracy has declined? What does the future hold for LBH and cause lawyering in Indonesia? In this week's Talking Indonesia podcast, Dr Dave McRae chats with Dr Tim Mann, editor of the Indonesia at Melbourne blog and associate director of the Centre for Indonesian Law, Islam and Society (CILIS). Dr Mann wrote his PhD thesis on LBH and cause lawyering in a fragile democracy. In 2022, the Talking Indonesia podcast is co-hosted by Dr Jemma Purdey from Monash University, Dr Dave McRae from the Centre for Indonesian Law, Islam and Society at the University of Melbourne, Dr Jacqui Baker from Murdoch University, and Tito Ambyo. Look out for a new Talking Indonesia podcast every fortnight. Photo credit: Screenshot from Watchdoc Documentary/Trismana.

Proyek IKN Mengancam Kedaulatan Negara Oleh. Diyani Aqorib Voice over talent: Giriyani NarasiPost. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.05.13.093377v1?rss=1 Authors: Liu, H., Giffen, K. P., Grati, M., Morrill, S., Li, Y., Liu, X. Z., Briegel, K. J., He, D. Z. Z. Abstract: Hearing loss affects ~10% of adults worldwide and is irreversible. Most sensorineural hearing loss is caused by progressive loss of mechanosensitive hair cells (HCs) in the cochlea of the inner ear. The molecular mechanisms underlying HC maintenance and loss are largely unknown. Our previous cell-specific transcriptome analysis showed that Limb-Bud-and-Heart (LBH), a transcription co-factor implicated in development, is abundantly expressed in outer hair cells (OHCs). We used Lbh-null mice to identify its role. Surprisingly, Lbh deletion did not affect differentiation and early development of HCs, as nascent HCs in Lbh-knockout mice had normal looking stereocilia bundles. Whole-cell recording showed that the stereocilia bundle was mechanosensitive and OHCs exhibited the characteristic electromotility. However, Lbh-null mice displayed progressive hearing loss, with stereocilia bundle degeneration and OHC loss as early as postnatal day 12. Cell-specific RNA-seq and bioinformatic analyses identified Spp1, Six2, Gps2, Ercc6, Snx6 as well as Plscr1, Rarb, Per2, Gmnn and Map3k5 among the top five transcription factors up- or down-regulated in Lbh-null OHCs. Furthermore, this analysis showed significant gene enrichment of biological processes related to transcriptional regulation, cell cycle, DNA damage/repair and autophagy. In addition, Wnt and Notch pathway-related genes were found to be dysregulated in Lbh-deficient OHCs. We speculate that LBH may promote maintenance of HCs and stereocilia bundles by regulating Notch and Wnt signaling activity. Our study implicates, for the first time, loss of LBH function in progressive hearing loss, and demonstrates a critical requirement of LBH in promoting HC survival. Blaming government and labour is also weak, construction is a weak industry and only really boomed in the lead up to the world cup in 2010 (not forgetting the price fixing). Apparently "Someone bought BSR at 1c in on Friday now it turns out the seller does not have the stock. JSE trying to reverse." Liberty (JSE code: LBH) got hacked. Exact details are scarce as I record, the company is saying it was "largely emails and possible attachments" and that no clients have lost money. Well maybe not yet. But you email all sorts of personally stuff to a long-term insurer; bank details, residential address, medical, etc. That frankly puts clients at risk. Bigger picture is that our future unfortunately includes us being hacked sooner or later. PPC (JSE code: PPC) results were not exciting and they have challenges. Local is weak, DRC is having issues already. Not a stock I would want to be holding. I honestly am not sure what the deal is with trade wars. Hello fellow Arrowheads! Welcome to the FINAL episode of Longbow Hunters: The Arrow Podcast, the podcast dedicated to covering the CW's hit superhero television series: Arrow. For over five years, Woo S! Kim and I have not been trapped on a hellish Island known as Lian Yu, but we have been friends, back then we were joined through Smallville, since then it has expanded further than either of us thought it would and has brought us to Arrow. We started Longbow Hunters back in the summer of 2012, not knowing if Arrow would be a hit or a miss but we decided to take the chance. Since then, we have had the absolute pleasure to talk about Arrow, Green Arrow, DC Comics, and more on air with this show for the past two years with all of you guys who we hold very near and dear to our hearts. We've been able to talk with Marc Guggenheim, Blake Neely, Jeff Lemire (behind the scenes anyways), and all of you about Arrow, the character of Green Arrow, and about our show and we've had a blast doing it. Unfortunately, it is time to "bid adieu" as I am moving on to the next stage of my life and as Woo and I's lives both become much more busy, certainly busier than they were two years ago. Although we gave some of you guys shout outs in our finale episode, which you can find the links to below of download via the Across the Airwaves iTunes/Stitcher pages, I would like to again thank Dan & Nico, Andy, Christopher Wietrick, Alisa Lea, Jay, Lauren, VerdantArrow, Steve & Derek - our inspiration, and a host of others for your love, support, and dedication to Longbow Hunters as we took this two year journey through the DC Universe. It's almost fitting that we're leaving just as some of our favorite characters are given their sends offs on Arrow, like Slade Wilson & Sara Lance (who quite frankly, we don't ever have to see again), and we see that Oliver has finally taken his first steps off of Lian Yu in the flashbacks, just as we saw him do in the "Pilot" almost two years ago. Anyway, thank you all for listening and enjoy our finale episode of The Longbow Hunters where we cover the Arrow - Season 2 episode "Unthinkable", The Flash - Extended Trailer, our favorite memories during LBH, and what we plan on doing next! Plus, a special guest appearance by Mr. Dan Schmidt himself! All this and more on the final episode of Longbow Hunters: The Arrow Podcast!
Hello and welcome back fellow ARROWheads to Across the Airwaves' Productions very own "Longbow Hunters: The Arrow Podcast" hosted by Michael J. Petty and Woo S! Kim! On this exciting episode of LBH, Michael and Woo test out their new format to covering Arrow episodes starting with episode 6 entitled "Legacies". Not only was it a great episode to try their new format on, but it also was a great episode! Discussion points include the Royal Flush Gang, Tommy's destiny/fate, Oliver becoming a hero in his own right, Taylor Swift, and the difference between DC's characters vs Marvel's. But that's not all as the Dynamic Duo also cover the latest digital comic book for Arrow entitled "Moscow", which spawns some more good discussion. And don't forget, Dan, Nico, and Andy share their thoughts on the episode as well! All in a days work for the Arrow Podcast!
Hey fellow ArrowHeads, and welcome back to ATA's Longbow Hunters: The Arrow Podcast. On this exciting (or is it boring?) episode of LBH, Michael and Woo are joined by creator and host of Across the Airwaves Productions, Dan Schmidt! Now that we got the trio back together (remember Retro Reviews?), they discuss the latest episode of Arrow entitled "Damaged". They discuss the Well-Dressed Man, Slade/Deathstroke, Yao Fei, Lollie, and more. But that's not all, Woo and Michael then discuss the next comic chapter for Arrow entitled "Fathoms" and go into some deep speculation about who's the real boss of this season, Checkmate? And don't forget to listen after the music to our SPOILERS section, brought to you by GreenArrowTV, where Woo and Michael discuss the latest spoilers for the next episode, "Legacies". Oh, and listen closely for Michael's exciting story about his experience watching the new James Bond 007 film SKYFALL!
Hey guys, welcome back to the #1 Arrow podcast on the Internet (at this point) entitled Longbow Hunters: The Arrow Podcast, brought to you by Across the Airwaves Productions! On this exciting episode of LBH, Michael and Woo are joined by ATA co-host Nico Reifsteck! Before diving into Arrow, they cover the current Arrow news, Disney buying LucasFilm and what that means for both Star Wars and Indiana Jones, and of course Michael's comic picks of the week and why you should all read Superman: Earth One, Volume 2. But after about 20 minutes into the show, they quickly switch from the news into the episode "An Innocent Man" where a lot of stuff went down. The trio talk about their thoughts on Detective Lance, Felicity Smoak, what may happen with Walter, and give their theories on who the Well-Dressed Man may be, as well as predictions for next week. And don't worry folks, they play Dan & Andy's thoughts on the episode as well as read the Twitter comments of the week. The group also covers the 4th Arrow digital chapter entitled "Diggle", which gives more background on Diggle's life as a soldier. And don't think we forgot the Spoilers! At the end of the fade out music, Michael give you all the spoilers on the next episode "Damaged", brought to you by GreenArrowTV!
Hey everybody and welcome back to ATA's very own Longbow Hunters: The Arrow Podcast! In this long-awaited episode, Michael J. Petty and Woo S! Kim bring in their first guest-host to LBH, Andy Behbakht! And after about 20 minutes of hearing this trio rant about Arrow's full-season pick up, the DC Comics picks of the week, and the interview Michael and Dan did with Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim, they get into covering the latest episode of Arrow entitled "Lone Gunman". A lot of interesting theories are brought up about Deadshot's victims, Moria's intentions as a parent, Tommy and Laurel's relationship, Oliver's mission, and which character Michael just wants to die. But that's not all, after a very long recap and review on this episode (and after hearing Dan & Nico's thoughts, as well as the thoughts from the Twitterverse), the trio then go on to discuss the latest digital comic chapter explaining China White's origin. This gets into some heated discussion about origin stories in the comics and whether or not super villains should have origin stories. The answer will shock you! We apologize that this episode went a little (or a lot) longer than we expected guys, and the next time Andy joins us we will try and move things along, but until that time comes, enjoy the podcast!
Hello and welcome (for some of you, welcome back) Arrow fans to Across the Airwaves's very own "Longbow Hunters: The Arrow Podcast". On this exclusive interview episode, LBH host Michael J. Petty and, his co-host on the "Arrow SPOILERS" section of LBH, Dan Schmidt interview one of the writers and executive producers of Arrow: Marc Guggenheim. Unfortunately the interview was very brief, but we are so very thankful for the time we did get to spend with Marc, even if we had to mention the boxing glove arrow. Special thanks to LBH co-host Woo S! Kim and our good friend and follower Andy Behbakht (from K-Site TV) for the questions that they sent into Dan & I. Because we only had 20 minutes with Marc, we were only able to ask so much. We did our best to incorporate your questions into ours guys. Anyway, enjoy this short and sweet interview with Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim!
Welcome one and all to the 0 episode of LONGBOW HUNTERS: THE ARROW PODCAST. Brought to you by Across the Airwaves Productions. In this 0 episode of LBH, Woo S! Kim and I (Michael J. Petty) cover Green Arrow in comics, television, film (well... not film, but you get the picture), and everything else! We also discuss our thoughts on what we've heard so far about Arrow, the show in which this podcast is about. Also, sorry about Woo's audio. We're getting back into recording season and we're still working out the kinks. Anyway, enjoy out (very poor...) episode 0 of Longbow Hunters!
