The cast is stacked with a young Diane Lane and maniacal looking Willem Dafoe. The hero, Michael Pare looks Hero-Like with his smoldering good looks, motorcycle riding, shotgun toting aesthetic. So this is going to be very good or very bad and we can't wait. Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

To say that Douglas Vermeeren is one of the busiest actors filming roles in feature films in Europe and the USA is an understatement. To keep up with his roles in productions in 2024, let's start with the Western “Unnatural 2,” Douglas plays Lucifer, directed by Whit Whitman and shot in Kentucky in May 2024 for Little Monsters Productions. He then flew to attend the Cannes Film Festival before booking a role as gangster Archie Baker in “Clean Right Hook,” shot in London, UK, in Late May /early June 2024, directed by Sam Purewal for Black Coppice Productions, Then back to the US for “Deadly Endings”  shot in New Haven CT in June 2024. Douglas plays Bradley West with filmmaker Richard Harlost. Douglas also found time to shoot the role of Raynard in “Alien Horde,” his second film with Mahal Empire. And if that's not enough, you can see Douglas in Paramount+'s six-episode documentary series “Mafia Spies,” now streaming. Based on the book Mafia Spies: The Inside Story of the CIA, Gangsters, JFK, and Castro. On the film festival circuit, Douglas is proud of two independent feature films, “Jack Knife” and “Tenants,” which are winning awards worldwide. Other roles include starring alongside former WWE star Al Snow in “Homeless for the Holidays.” As Callum in “Bikers Vs. Werewolves” with Robert LaSardo and Michael Pare. As Denver Haywood in “The Boy From Below” with Dee Wallace and Leah Voysey. As Neal in “Skate to Hell” with Eric Roberts, Todd Bridges, Jenna Jameson and Robert Carradine.  And Bradley in “Deadly Endings” with Felissa Rose.      Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

Jump back 40 years to a classic time travel movie with The Philadelphia Experiment. Jay and Shua reminisce and compare it to another 80s flick on Enjoy Stuff    Time skip back and forth through time with experiments connecting us to World War II. The Philadelphia Experiment takes us forward and The Final Countdown takes us back.    News We break down some of the biggest D23 News with plenty to excite everyone Pop-Tarts releases the biggest pastry EVER! Saturday Night is a new film that tells the story of the first broadcast of SNL What do you think of the extremely sweet new treat at an Arizona stadium Start planning great holiday gifts now with the Muppet version of Clue There's a new horror documentary series from Shudder Best of luck to all the Paramount Television Studios employees that lost their job in the shutdown Ready for some pumpkin spice? 7-11 has you covered   Check out our TeePublic store for some enjoyable swag and all the latest fashion trends What we're Enjoying Jay was reminded of a Michael Keaton movie from earlier this year called Knox Goes Away. It starts off as a movie about an assassin who is looking to get out of the business. But it quickly turns unique when you find out that Keaton's character has a quickly worsening form of dementia. You can check it out on Apple TV+ or Max. Shua grabbed an old Sci-Fi paperback from his shelf called Earthship and Starsong by Ethan I. Shedley. It never made it into the annals of sci-fi legends, but it is an interesting tale of humans' quest (and selfishness) for survival in the universe. Unfortunately we made enemies of everyone else in the universe. You can find this book on Amazon and other online sources.    Sci-Fi Saturdays This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay has reminded us of a 2006 Hugh Jackman movie called The Fountain. This unique movie tells a similar tale about a doomed couple from different time periods of history, which spans thousands of years. Check out all of Jay's articles on Sci-Fi Saturdays, only on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. There are some new locations from Agents of SHIELD season 3. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.     Enjoy Movies!  40 years ago, a movie was released that was based on a possibly true story from 40 years before. Michael Pare and Nancy Allen star in the Philadelphia Experiment. Pare and Bobby DiCicco's characters get flung forward in time to 1984 following a failed Navy experiment in World War II. Their problems weren't over because they were still connected to the bizarre vortex that sent them there, causing painful outbreaks of electricity. Plus, the scientist who caused the accident, did it again with a whole town. Now Pare has to get back to stop it.    The movie is often compared to another WWII time travel movie called The Final Countdown. In that movie, the time travel happens in reverse, sending the USS Nimitz back to 1941 just before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Which movie did it better? We compare them and explain which one we like the best.    Don't forget to check out Jay's SciFi Saturdays articles on The Philadelphia Experiment and  The Final Countdown   Which movie did you like better? Would you rather go forward in time or back? First person that emails me with the subject line, “Philadelphia Freedom” will get a special mention on the show.  Let us know. On this month's episode we're tackling two films in which Dolph took on supporting roles where he played shady figures with dual motives! In the 2015 ensemble "thriller", 4GOT10, Lundgren plays a DEA agent on the trail of some stolen cash from a drug deal gone wrong! Starring alongside Dolph are Johnny Messner, Danny Trejo, Michael Pare, and Vivica A. Fox! In Altitude, "wild thing," Denise Richards stars as an FBI hostage negotiator who finds herself caught in the middle of a hijacking onboard her flight to Washington DC! Lundgren shows up as a high-class thief who threatens to crash the plane unless one of the fellow passengers returns the loot that is rightfully his! Sure, both these premises couldn't be more different, though that didn't stop us from having fun chatting these two slices of direct-to-video independent action cinema! Joining me to chat this duo of flicks are two friends of the show -- Steve Done and Matt Poirier! First up Steve Done returns to the show to help make sense of the Tarantino wannabe 4GOT10 (we try to get to the bottom of that awful title, and we manage to briefly discuss the 2004 British “comedy”(?), Fat Slags)! After, Matt Poirier from The Direct-to-Video Connoisseur returns to lend some insight on the pretty unremarkable airplane hijacking film, Altitude! So strap in… It's a combo episode with tons action… albeit on low, low budgets! Major thanks to Steve Done and Matt Poirier for joining me! I'll take obscure 80's film for 500, Pat. And the answer is: Streets of Fire What is an action noir starring Michael Pare and Willem Dafoe? Oh, I'm sorry, not quite, anyone else want to take a crack at it? What is a romantic drama starring Diane Lane? Mm, close, but we're looking for something different, one more try? What is a musical comedy starring Rick Moranis? Nope, that wasn't it either, we were looking for 'What is an action noir romantic drama with musical comedy elements starring Michael Pare, Willem DaFoe, Diane Lane and Rick Moranis?' No points this round. This week on The CineMeh Podcast Josh and Ryan charge headfirst into The Battery district to review a film Ryan calls 'the most confused movie he has ever seen.' Not quite an action noir, not quite a romantic drama, not quite a comedy, not quite a musical, not quite set in the 1950s, not quite set in the 1980s, not quite set in Chicago, not quite set in New York City, Streets of Fire isn't quite many things, but it is completely itself. One of the most unique and uniquely strange films of the season, there isn't much to save the atrocious script, unlikable characters, nonsensical plot and inconsistent tone. But it's banging soundtrack and relentless swagger make this one worth a watch, even if only once. Streets of Fire was released in 1984 and stars Michael Pare, Diane Lane, Willem Dafoe, Rick Moranis and Amy Maddigan with appearances by Bill Paxton, Rick Rossovich and Lynne Thigpen. Episode Notes S4E9 -- Join us as we dive into the mind of the one and only John Fallon. He'll take us on his journey from Death Race & Saw II to his newest film "Break" John Fallon spent two years learning the technical aspects of filmmaking, and another three years perfecting his craft as an actor through a professional theater program (from which he graduated with honors). His feature length directorial debut "The Shelter" starring Michael Pare from his own screenplay was recently released in theaters, VOD and now on DVD to critical acclaim. The LA Times called it "remarkably ambitious" while Ain't it Cool News said "The Shelter is resonant in tone and spot on in execution!" He has a series of films at varied levels of development, including the action film EVA, the barbarian adventure film "The Prize" and the bleak period drama "Heretic", having to do with two Templars going through hell after the second Crusade. Many of his screenplays other were produced into films in the past including "Deaden", "Trance" and "American Muscle". John Fallon has also acted in such films as "Saw II", "100 Feet" opposite Famke Janssen, the French hit "Dead Shadows" and the action film "American Muscle". Finally, since the year 2000, John has been at the helm of one of the most successful horror movie websites in the world called Arrow in the Head, part of the JoBlo Movie Network, which led him to being a member of the Jury at the Sitges Film Festival, the Fantastic Fest Film Festival among many others. Personal Quote: When I started acting I loved the art of acting, the process but really hated the business side of it. As time went on I grew to appreciate it more and realize its importance. Now don't get me wrong to make it in this business it takes talent but its more about who you know, how well you network and how good you look that gets you the part. It took me a long time to understand that. If I knew then what I know now, I'd be closer to my ultimate goal. Better late than never I guess. I do what I do, some people like me for it, others hate me for it, that's life. I'm just trying to make a decent living within what I love - films - anything outside of that carries little weight for me Find out more at https://still-toking-with.pinecast.co

For our first episode recorded in 2023, we look at two films from writer/director Eric Red! We start off with "Cohen and Tate" from 1988, starring Roy Scheider and Adam Baldwin in a tale of two hitmen sent to retrieve a young boy and bring him in for questioning by the mob. It's a bit of a mess, with cartoony performances but it has enough good ideas and moments that it's ultimately satisfying. We follow that up with the entertaining "Bad Moon" from 1996, which stars Michael Pare and Mariel Hemingway as a brother and sister. At the start of the film, the brother is bitten by a werewolf and the family dog, which is the real standout actor in the movie, is none too happy about this dark presence in the home. It's fun despite its flaws and has a fantastic werewolf suit! We then proceed to list the various things we've been watching for fun. Please let us know what you thought of the show, and send us some suggestions for future episodes. You can email us at flickersfrom@yahoo.com or flickersfrom@gmail.com. Like many folks, after a few misses, he leveled out and was able to work on some other films including BLUE STEEL (1990) and a film he directed as well, BAD MOON (1996). BAD MOON was noticeable because of the subgenre of being a werewolf film. It also starred Mariel Hemingway giving it some star power at the time. When a horrible animal attack in Nepal kills photo-journalist Ted Harrison's (Michael Pare) girlfriend, he returns to the states living in a RV in the middle of nowhere. His sister Janet (Mariel Hemmingway) convinces him to move his RV to her driveway so he won't be alone. Soon horrible animal attacks occur in the vicinity leading to a horrible discovery that may lead to a deep dark secret.BAD MOON received mixed reviews in its initial release but soon became a midnight film of note. In a subgenre of horror film that is grossly overlooked, werewolf movies, the film has gained a cult following. BAD MOON is a patreon pick from one of the podcast's many listeners. Your co-hosts give their thoughts on this interesting movie.

This movie is very special to me and so are the songs on the soundtrack. I hope you like this episode, much of it recorded months ago. There will be at least one or two more coming soon.  It's funny, because my original intent was to publish a multi-hour episode on "Eddie &..." with a brief mention of "Streets of Fire" at the end, since Michael Pare stars in both films. But S.o.F. ended up being a whole big thing of its own on the last 2 episodes and now I'm finally releasing the "Eddie" stuff in small bits to make it feel like less of a heavy lift, due to so many moving parts in my approach to this film and the source material. I really appreciate you listening, especially if you're new to the series! Next episode will delve deeper into the experience of filming and the reception of the music and rock journo douche-chill-invoking comparisons to "The Boss". I'm gonna get a lot more cranky on that one ;) Buy the original novel because it is good, if you're bad. Then we have two films which star Robert Bronzi, a Hungarian actor who has built a career out of the fact that he bears an uncanny resemblance to Charles Bronson! First up is EXORCIST VENGEANCE, in which he plays a priest who carries a bible in one hand and a gun in the other! He has produced, written, and directed shows for SPIKE TV – Reality Racing The Rookie Challenge, NBC Los Angeles – The AOF Channel, ESPN II – Feelin' Good and is best known for his feature films, Split, Sunny and RayRay, The Victims, and Trick. Weston has had roles in films with Sylvester Stallone – Rocky V, Jet Li – The Master, and do stunts and fight choreography for films like Rocky V, Asylum, Trick, Reality Racing the Rookie Challenge, and many more. For the AOF Channel Television Series, Weston directed greats such as Kim Coates – Son's of Anarchy, Michael Strahan – Good Morning America, Tony Gonzalez – NFL Hall of Famer, Chuck Liddel – UFC Champion, and tons of other great talents. He has worked with other great stars including David Carridine, Talia Shire, Bo Svenson, John Savage, and Michael Pare. In 2013, Weston launched Del Weston's Action On Film Television Series which aired across the United States and Europe and featured indie filmmakers, writers, directors, and performers. With over 600 produced episodes, the program has been seen by millions of viewers worldwide. Del has worked in all phases of production including line producer, on multi-million dollar projects as well as micro-budget films. He believes that the major difference between a good project and a great project is a sensitive touch between the Above the Line, Below the Line Costs as well as an intimate knowledge of Union Agreements, Contracts, Payroll, Scheduling, and an understanding of how NOT to go over budget. Benefits such as Section 181, Tax Credits, and incentives, Insurance, etc., must be taken into account before the cameras roll. And, finally, the project must be made with an eye on sales and distribution at every level. Creating and producing all necessary Deliverables at every stage of production can and does make all the difference between success and failure. In 2014, Weston began publishing The Top 100 Books via iTunes which includes a series of interactive books that rank the top indie Writers and Directors in the World. Much of the talented folks in the books came directly from The Action On Film Festivals and the AOF Megasfest which Weston created and launched in 2005. Tara, Adam & Dave turn back the rock & roll clock for an 80's anthem fable that takes place….int the 50's? It's STREETS OF FIRE! It is another time and another place – an odd mix of the 80's and the ‘50s. Rock star Ellen Aim (played by Diane Lane) is kidnapped by motorcycle gang leader Raven Shaddock (Willem DaFoe). That's win Billy Fish (played by Rick Moranis), nerdy music manager hires Ellen's ex-boyfriend, ex-military and current mercenary, Tom Cody (played by Michael Pare). Joined by mechanic McCoy (played by Amy Madigan), Cody and Billy head down to the battery to rescue the rock and roll queen from the evil king of the bombers. This month, we're supporting BLACK TABLE ARTS whose mission is to gather black communities through the arts toward better black futures.
