This episode, we have a bit of a catch up about some of the spooky activity here at KOFY HQ, and play you a possible EVP caught during one of our patron zooms. Then, we have a haunted pub in Canterbury, and – one of Lil's favourite topics – spooky dolls – on the paranormal radar. We have listener stories from have Mike, Kate and Bob and we head over to Holywell, St Ives to bring you a curious tale 2 years in the making; of The Ghost that Never Was, and why you should always go back for ice cream.
On December 9, 1965, residents in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and several other states, as well as Canada, observed a strange ball of fire streaking through the afternoon sky. Various reports indicated locations where the object was believed to have fallen, with the majority of them centering in on the rural community of Kecksburg in southwestern Pennsylvania. But what was the object, and what actually happened later that night as the U.S. military went in search of it? This week, following news and an analysis of the long-lost Calvine UFO photograph from Scotland, we reopen the case files on the Kecksburg incident. Was there really an object recovered, and why did NASA lose its files on its investigation? Or is there another explanation for the event entirely? We explore all these questions and more this week on The Micah Hanks Program. The story doesn't end here... become an X Subscriber and get access to even more weekly content and monthly specials. This is an interesting one: how do you do an episode about literally nothing? Less than nothing? Mark Salomon is a legend and forefather of the Tooth & Nail scene. He was pioneering new artistic and cultural territory while being iconic, professional and a showman all at the same time. He has been massively influential from The Crucified and Stavesacre to Neon Horse and his podcast, Never Was, and his reputation for having solid personal relationships across decades with so many other legends. What a rock singer, a podcaster, and great relationships all have in common is the ability to connect & communicate ideas from your mind though your voice. Everyone loves Mark's voice regardless of what he is doing. If it is his voice expressing his mind, it just works. In this Self-Coaching podcast, Lauren and I discuss how to restore and replenish healthy self-esteem. It all begins with a simple truth: there's nothing wrong with you. Never was. You may reflexively balk at this statement especially if insecurity and faulty perceptions of inferiority have been calling the shots, but it happens to be irrefutable. When you put yourself down you diminish your self-worth, you violate you. Stop doing it! Granted, at this point you may not be able to flip from black to white and gush with self-love (although that would be nice), but at the very least, you can start to neutralize your negativity. Sure, you may feel inferior, but always remember feelings are not facts. And when it comes to inferiority—your feelings are nothing more than faulty, miscalculations of your truth. And what's that truth? let me reiterate: THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU. NEVER WAS!

In the summer of 1964, about a thousand young Americans, black and white, came together in Mississippi to place themselves in the path of white supremacist power and violence. They issued a bold pro-democracy challenge to the nation and the Democratic Party. This week Amended host Laura Free introduces “Freedom Summer,” a special episode from a podcast called Scene on Radio, one of the sources of inspiration for Amended. Season 4 of Scene on Radio was called “The Land that Never Was.” It looks at the nation’s history from its beginnings to the present to understand the deep-rooted challenges that American democracy has never solved. “Freedom Summer” highlights an important chapter in the struggle for equal voting rights. Visit amendedpodcast.com for a transcript of the episode. The National Theatre’s new production of "Romeo and Juliet" was meant to premiere in the summer of 2020. But when the COVID-19 pandemic began, Simon Godwin, the production’s director, was tasked with turning it into a 90-minute film shot entirely in the National’s Littleton Theatre. Now, as the film approaches its United States premiere, Godwin sees "Romeo and Juliet" as a play uniquely suited to our pandemic moment. We spoke with him about how the pandemic affected the production logistically and thematically, as well as about learning how to direct a film and working with actors like Josh O’Connor, Jessie Buckley, and Tamsin Grieg. Godwin is interviewed by Barbara Bogaev. "Romeo and Juliet" airs in the United States at 9 pm EDT on April 23—Shakespeare’s birthday—on PBS Great Performances. Simon Godwin is the Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC. From the Shakespeare Unlimited podcast. Published Tuesday, April 13. © Folger Shakespeare Library. This is the second part of a 2 part series. He said he was a screen actor, a film director, an art connoisseur, a physicist, a seafaring captain, a financier, and a member of the English aristocracy. The truth was, he was none of those things, with possibly the exception of an actor. In a sense, that is what he spent nearly his entire adult life doing - acting. But it wasn’t ever for film or for television. No, it wasn’t that kind of acting. The kind of acting this man was somewhat masterful at has another name - imposter. He lived an inauthentic life as a pretender, a charlatan, a grifter. He was drawn to all the finer things in life, the high society, money, wealth, status...the more bombastic, the better. But he would not be made to earn it on his own. He jumped from country to country, state to state, city to city and name to name in order to con, deceive, cheat, and double-cross anybody taken by his charm. And he would go to any lengths to ensure his secrets were kept - even murder. This is the Tale of the Rockefeller that Never Was…

Social factors heavily influence the outcomes of epidemics, and in this episode, the students uncover the social factors that contributed to the SARS outbreak and its results. Disease and discrimination have gone hand and hand throughout history. They explore the anti-Asian sentiment that existed during the SARS epidemic and the ongoing racial discrimination during COVID-19. Hello and welcome to The Enchanted Ears Podcast! Your place for anything and everything Disney. This week is a weird one since we have 2 episodes. Disney News was supersized due to the investors' meeting, so it gets its own show. Hooray!! We were so lucky this week to talk to Disney Historian Chris Smith. (How cool is it to be described as a "Disney Historian"?) He gives us the DL on so many things Disney from unbuilt attractions to things you would likely miss at Pecos Bill's to a deep dive into the attic scene on Haunted Mansion. We talked about the Russia pavilion, Fire Mountain, Thunder Mesa, and so much more! Thank you so much to Chris for the awesome interview! Be sure to check out his latest book, Magical Half-Century: Stories Celebrating Walt Disney World's First 50 Years, or his other books, The Walt Disney World that Never Was and Backstories and Magical Secrets of Walt Disney World Volumes I and II. We'll see you next week! Byeeeee! Check us out on Facebook and Youtube or submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode or support us on Patreon.
2020 took a lot from us, to include the "Season that Never Was." With Premiere League looking to pick up from the momentum Elite Dodgeball created, to new team mergers, and increased teams across all regions, 2020 was looking very promising until the pandemic shut it all down. That doesn't mean Justin and I can't speculate on what could have been with some of our favorite panelists and participants. Enjoy!
Chasing the BUZZ of Nostalgia is one of the BIGGEST obstacle to accept and understand when you explore your reationship to alcohol or stop drinking. This concept is what keeps so many people in deprivation AFTER they stop drinking. It's like they are living under a spell of what alcohol NEVER WAS, but they can't snap out of it, why? Because they didn't have me as their coach! LOL. Seriously. The nostalgia of alcohol is actually an error in the human brain that makes NO sense. It goes to show you just how STRONG of a concentrated reward the alcohol is to make the brain completely ERASE all of the painful things about alcohol, and only remember the carols and laughter. You are in for a wild ride. Schedule your free alignment session with Mary HERE

On this 4th of July, we found it only fitting to present Act II of the Carousel of Progress. Filled with electricity, fancy appliances, blown fuses and a town's Independence Day celebration, the ‘Roaring 20s' was a great time to be optimistic of the future.Hello and thanks for listening to Off Harbor and Main's Time and Place Series - On today's visit we thought it was fitting to celebrate our Independence Day with a little optimism from John at Magic Kingdom's Carousel of Progress. While John has seen a few changes over the years, his message remains the same. Through numerous changes from the show's days as Progressland at the 1964 New York World's Fair to its debut at Disneyland just 7 months after Walt's passing, it was then off to Disney World where it had a period when the show used a different Sherman Brothers tune focusing on “Now” being the Best Time of Your Life. Our favorite little tune wouldn't return until November of 1993 along with a new Tomorrowland boasting The Future that Never Was. Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress continues to preach to this day… There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow...INTERACTEmail - podcast@offharborandmain.comTwitter - @offharborInstagram - @offharborFacebook - Off Harbor & MainWebsite - OffHarborAndMain.com

Hey ya’ll hey! Thanks for tuning into Episode 43 of Tellemtiptoldyou—"The Death of the American Exceptionalism that Never Was.” Can I be honest? This episode is a rant. Listen honey, if we don’t learn anything else from this COVID-19 environment it is that we need to ensure this country is better able to provide adequate healthcare and social protections for our people. From 80% of Georgia’s cases being Black folks to the lynching of Ahmound Arbery, it’s time we admit some things to ourselves. I’ll be honest, this episode might be a controversial one. You can learn a lot about someone if you know how they pray and what they pray for, especially when they are in the midst of crisis. When we are in trauma, do we suddenly reach up to God with greater fervor and feelings of faith than we normally would? Do we focus just on ourselves and our need for help and put all else aside? On the last night and day of his human life, Jesus offered three distinct prayers to his Father as his human life was in its final traumatic chapter. We all know the end of this story brings unequivocal victory over sin and death. By examining these three prayers, we can also better know the heart, mind, devotion and strength that led to achieving such a victory. The first of Jesus’ final three prayers in the Bible is his chapter-long petition in John 17. If you've ever wondered what Jesus’ life was about, what was most important to him and how he thought, just read this prayer. It not only shows us who Jesus was and is; it also serves as a manual for how to pray when your world is about to come crashing down around you. This was a prayer of preparation, as it took place during the last calm moments of his life. It was just he and his faithful followers together before they entered the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus prayed out loud so they could hear him and join in with his heartfelt petition. What he said to his Father tells an incredible story. There are few recorded words for Jesus’ other two prayers, but they were no less impactful and profound. His Gethsemane prayer was one of pleading as he felt the weight of coming experiences and responsibilities overwhelm him. This prayer was repeated several times and was immediately followed by his betrayal. It is amazing how many lessons we can learn from so few words! Jesus' prayer on the cross is similar. The few words he spoke do only begin to reveal the magnitude of power and hope he was communing with his Father about. What is also profound is the prayer that no one ever talks about – the "Prayer that Never Was." During the mounting intensity of his experience, Jesus alludes to a petition he chose not to offer. When we stop and consider the unfathomable power this unspoken prayer would have unlocked, it causes us to stand in an even greater awe of his sacrifice and love. Check out our April 22, 2019 podcast, “What Can We Learn From Jesus’ Final Prayers?” We walk through the principles of preparation Jesus modeled for us in his John 17 prayer and break down the clarity and intensity of his Gethsemane prayer. We then observe and appreciate his last prayer on the cross and reveal its deep and hope-filled meaning. If you really want to know Jesus, know how and why he prayed!
