Welcome to a very special 200th episode! Kim is thrilled to be joined by Crista Grasso, founder of the Simplify to Scale and Lean Out Methods, for a conversation about leading and innovating in this year of massive change in the stars. Join them as they discuss strategies for scaling, how to tap into your intuition to take big leaps, and move with cosmic timing to build their businesses!Episode HighlightsCrista shares a personal story about launching her Strategic Ops Institute brand. Despite roadblocks and timing issues, her soul-driven decision catapulted her success, proving that ideas are only as powerful as the action behind them. The conversation highlights why structure, curation, and aligning with cosmic timing are crucial in a fast-changing business landscape.Inspiring Quotes"When you have your soul leading, you become rich and powerful. You make big impact. You leave your legacy. And that's what I'm all about.""Without the execution and making it real, it doesn't get very far—other than a little bit of excitement at the time of having it and then it just falls flat."Key Questions Answered1. How can astrology and soul alignment give entrepreneurs an edge in 2025?[4:43 - 9:18] Astrology reveals unique timing and energy patterns for the year ahead. Kim Woods explains that recognizing these cosmic windows (like Jupiter entering Cancer, or Pluto in Aquarius), and aligning business moves with these, allows entrepreneurs to synchronize action and intention. The practice sharpens intuition, clarifies priorities, and helps leaders step forward when opportunity knocks. 2. What keeps great ideas from becoming business breakthroughs?[2:53-5:21] Crista shares that ideas alone are "mildly interesting" unless coupled with structure and execution. The curation of opportunities—choosing which ideas to act on and supporting them with real plans—are what transform inspiration into income. The episode emphasizes that entrepreneurship is about making things tangible, not just dreaming big.3. What role does fear play in following your soul's mission?[14:49-15:48] According to Kim, living your soul mission often comes with fear and discomfort—if you're not a little scared, you may not be stretching far enough. Facing and moving through this fear is key; those willing to lean into uncertainty will ride the "power wave" of authentic success, especially in 2025's rapidly shifting landscape.Action Steps for Visionary RebelsLeverage Astrological Timing: Pay attention to cosmic shifts throughout the year—Jupiter in Cancer, Pluto in Aquarius—when making strategic plans.Curate Your Opportunities: Not every invitation serves your highest vision. Trim, select, and weave your choices for maximum impact and sustainability.Let Your Soul Lead: If you feel fear or resistance, you might just be on the right track. Trust your intuition—and act.Join the CommunityLoved this episode? This station should be felt most strongly between April 30 - May 2nd.  Look for struggles over control and power. [2:38] While Pluto is retrograde, it re-enters Capricorn on June 10th and re-visit the last few degrees of that sign. Pluto re-enters Aquarius on January 20, 2024. [3:23] If you have any planets or important points in your chart near 25° - 29° Capricorn or of the other Cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer and Libra, these Pluto transits could be an influential time for you. [4:17] Also on May 1st (4:27 PM PDT), the Sun conjoins Mercury at 11°19' Taurus, on the Sabian symbol, 12 Taurus, Windows shoppers. This is the second of three Sun-Mercury conjunctions: one on March 27th, this one, and a third on June 30th. [6:16] Venus squares Neptune on May 4th (10:40 AM PDT), at 26°50' Gemini and Pisces, opening our eyes to realties about relationships and value. [8:00] Venus sextiles Jupiter on May 4th (9:03 PM PDT) at 27°19' Gemini and Aries.  Consider it a consolation prize after the Venus-Neptune square earlier in the day.  The Sabian symbols: Venus on 28 Gemini, A man declared bankrupt and Jupiter on 28 Aries, A large disappointed audience. Starting with a clean slate, we can reach out for something more rewarding. [10:41] Moon Report!  The Full Moon on May 5th (10:34 AM PDT) is a Lunar Eclipse at 14°58' Scorpio.  This is our last eclipse in Scorpio until 2031. This is a highly charted eclipse with the Moon and Sun both in aspect to Uranus. [11:28] Past eclipses related to this Lunar Eclipse are:  the Solar Eclipse on November 3, 2013 also the Lunar Eclipses on May 4, 2004 and May 4, 1985.  Look at where 14°58' Scorpio falls in your chart for clues as to how this transit could affect you personally.  Here's a video about Finding Transits in Your Birth Chart. [12:24] This eclipse falls closer to the South Node of the Moon in Scorpio.  Let go of bitterness, resentment, jealousy and grudges. Lean into the North Node in Taurus and trust in the world around us. [13:13] This is the Full Moon in a Lunar Phase Family Cycle that began with a New Moon on November 4th, 2021 at 12°40' Scorpio. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will illuminate the progress made thus far on this lunar path. [14:18] Void-of-Course Moon (VOC) periods. On May 1st, the Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune (4:53 PM PDT). It's VOC for a little over six hours, before it enters Libra (11:09 PM PDT). Balance time spent in the imaginal world versus the land of Google Sheets. [15:32] On May 4th, the Moon in Libra opposes Jupiter in Aries (2:17 AM PDT).  It's VOC for little over five hours before it enters Scorpio (7:32 AM PDT). Consider options before you act. [17:04] The Moon in Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces on May 6th (7:38 AM PDT).  It will be VOC for about 5 ½ hours before entering Sagittarius (1:04 PM PDT). Practice forgiveness and self-care, starting with a relaxing soak in the tub. [18:10] Venus enters Cancer on May 7th (7:25 AM PDT). The lesser benefic will be in this sign until June 6th  Take advantage of Venus' time in Cancer because she will have an extended stay in Leo due to a retrograde period. [18:50] Venus in Cancer themes can include: spending money on decorating your home, graduation gifts, Mother's Day gifts, cooking for loved ones, and beautifying the garden. [20:14] Listener Elliott asks about finding in-laws in a birth chart. Recommended reading:  Rex E. Bills' The Rulership Book  ;  J. The Sun in aspect with Uranus is an invitation to change the way we think about ourselves. [1:53] The Sabian symbol for the Sun, 16 Pisces: The flow of inspiration, speaks to the ways we glide along in our sense of who we are. Uranus in Taurus challenges this unconscious flow with changes that can be tangible and long-lasting. [3:39] Moon Report!  The Full Moon is on March 7th (4:40 AM PST) at 16°40' Virgo.  The Full Moon is a revelation point for the Pisces New Moon on February 19th or 20th, depending on where you live. It's also a revelation point in the Lunar Gestation cycle that began with the Virgo New Moon on September 6th, 2021. [5:19] The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon is 17 Virgo, A volcano interruption. A perfect description of this Full Moon which is trine Uranus and square Mars, both of which are very volatile and combustible planets. On March 8th, the Moon in Virgo trines Pluto at (6:07 AM PST) and is VOC just a little over a half an hour before it enters Libra (6:44 AM PST). It is VOC for just about a half an hour, before it enters Scorpio (4:06 PM PST). Have you broken habits of being overaccommodating in your relationships? [8:30] On March 12th, the Moon in Scorpio is sextile Pluto (11:58 PM PDT). It is VOC for only 23 minutes, before it enters Sagittarius on March 13th (12:21 AM PDT). Have you transcended petty grudges and negative emotions? [9:28] Saturn will enter Pisces on March 7th (5:35 AM PST) and will stay in this sign until May 24, 2025, and then between September 1, 2025 and February 13, 2026.  Saturn moving into a new sign, which it does about every two-and-a-half years, is a little bit like starting a new job. More often than not, people think of astrology as a tool for divination or the exploration of one's personality. Astrology is considerably more than that. It is a sacred science, a highly descriptive symbolic language, and it is also a technology that can be applied to ritual, herbalism, the use of crystals, and much more. But it can be daunting to take on the study of Astrology. After all, it's a field so huge it would take several lifetimes to master it. And that's why Ivo Dominguez, Jr., wrote this book--to provide practitioners of magick with a Pagan perspective on Astrology and the core concepts of Astrology that are most useful to building rituals and creating effective magick. When we look at an astrological chart, what we are actually looking at is a map of the multiple planes of existence summarized and flattened into an understandable diagram--a kind of magickal cartogram. Now, what to do with this map? How can we best use it in our magickal work? That's precisely what you'll discover in the pages of this concise, focused, and expertly presented book.

It connects with Saturn/Uranus, representing the struggle to get unstuck from situations that don't encourage joy or creativity. A new 2.5-year cycle begins and reaches critical points May 2022, Feb. 2023, and Nov. 2023. 18:30 – Mars squares the Nodes and provides a kick out of certainty and toward curiosity. 19:34 – The Scorpio First Quarter Moon (Aug. 15) is on the symbol, “A bunny metamorphosed into a fairy.” Scorpio the magician pulls a metaphorical bunny out of a hat to help our NM intentions succeed! Take action, too, on matters conceived around Nov. 14, 2020. 24:04 – For a quick review of all the lunar phases, revisit Ep. 34 (https://bit.ly/3C10o8A). 24:28 – Communicative Mercury enters Virgo (Aug. 11-29). Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune (Aug. 9) and seeks the sweet spot between earthy minimalism and spirituality (or maybe colorful chaos)! 29:07 – Venus trines Pluto (Aug. 11): Take relationships to a new level of intimacy and evaluate whether the things you have are in keeping with who you are. Or, this could bring a change in appearance, so your outsides fit your insides! 30:25 – Venus enters Libra (Aug. 15 - Sep. 10). In true partnership fashion, April and Jen sing a new collaborative song for the sign of Libra! 33:03 – Thanks for listening, and BIG thanks to donors CATHY SULLIVAN-THOMPSON, ELIZABETH ROJAS, and TEINA LICHTWARDT! April and Jen roll up their sleeves as the Sun enters busy Gemini, authoritative Saturn turns retrograde, and a Leo First Quarter Moon encourages heartfelt action. Also: Venus has a fated meeting with the Lunar North Node and then heeds Saturn’s advice to take fun seriously; the Sun is empowered by Pluto but overdoes it with Jupiter; and communicative Mercury forgets what to say with Neptune, so makes a collage instead! Plus: E.T., summer road trips, and our favorite songs from 1982! To view the full episode show notes and the many website links, go to www.BigSkyAstroPod.com. The Sun represents our will and confidence, so perhaps powerful forces will be on your side today. . 07:39 – Donuts, anyone? Venus joins the North Node at 10.46 Gemini (May 17). Venus represents important people in our lives, and the Nodes can feel fated – perhaps an important person will enter your orbit. It could also be realizing financial goals or getting on the right financial path. Or moving in a path that is true to your values and – dare we say? – fun! (To learn more about the Lunar Nodes, revisit Episode 5, Unboxing Eclipses… which will also get you prepared for next week’s eclipse!) . 11:30 – This week’s Moonwatch segment is brought to you by our non-imaginary sponsor: Victoria Pendragon! Check out her personal natal chart paintings! . 13:35 – **MOONWATCH ** This week we celebrate a Leo First Quarter Moon (FQM) on May 19! The Moon is at 29.01 Leo on the Sabian symbol, “An unsealed letter.” And the Sun is in Taurus on a symbol featuring April & Jen’s new favorite animal, “A peacock parading on an ancient lawn”! This FQM encourages us to get out there and show our hearts. Let yourself be seen, because perhaps what is holding you back is doing sharing on that level – by showing who you are! (This FQM is connected to a cycle and a lunar phase family that began 9 months ago. Episode 39, Leo New Moon: A Rainbow at Daybreak will help you remember what was happening then!) . 19:15 – Eclipse season is here: Sign up for April’s free eclipse webinar! (Eclipses often signal a change that you didn’t see coming. Want to learn about how the eclipses impact your personal birth chart? You can find April’s exclusive Followed by a Moonshadow Eclipse report on her website! It’s a goodie!) . 20:36 – Venus trines Saturn at 13.30 Aquarius (May 19/20). The planet of relationships is on the symbol, “A conversation by telepathy,” and the school principal of the zodiac is on the symbol, “A train entering a tunnel.” Take what you love seriously! Or this could be a cosmic suggestion to pursue more of the things that give you pleasure and make you happy. . 24:26 – The Sun enters Gemini (May 20 - June 20)! In Gemini season, we find joy through communication, getting a change of scenery, enjoying our neighborhoods, and talking to siblings, among other things. . 26:42 – The Sun barely enters Gemini when it squares Jupiter at 00.46 Pisces (May 21). Did they swap Sabian symbols? The Sun is on, “A glass bottomed boat in still water,” and Jupiter is on, “A public market.” This aspect encourages us to do more and expand our horizons, but think twice before taking on new obligations – Jupiter tends to overdo things. (This is the opening square from a cycle that began January 28, 2021. Lend your ears to Episode 66, Leo Full Moon: Dinner and Bingo! for more.) . 29:42 – How to say this? Mercury, at 22.53 Gemini, squares Neptune in Pisces (May 22/23). This can indicate a struggle to express what’s inexpressible… we’re at a loss for what else to say…

April and Jen plunge themselves into a full week, with creative activities getting a boost from the Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter – as long as Pluto decides our efforts are sincere. Venus enters Taurus, a reminder to stop and smell the roses (but keep an eye out for a few Saturn/Uranus thorns). This week’s lack of a major lunar phase to sing about makes room for a mini-lesson on the Crescent Moon! And finally, Jupiter rewards at least some of our Mars-in-Gemini projects. Plus: Are we counting the weeks until we can start talking about specific 80s songs? Why yes, yes we are! Three to go! Wondering how to find meaning in the patterns of your life? Book a reading with April! Sign up for April's mailing list for updates, a free monthly lunar workbook, AND an email tutorial on the Lunar Phases! To read April & Jen’s essays, or to join the podcast conversation and leave a comment, go to www.BigSkyAstroPod.com. Read more about this week’s astrology at the Big Sky Astrology website! Follow Big Sky Astrology on IG, Twitter, and FB @BigSkyAstrology Read a full transcript of this episode. Episode links: 00:30 – Want to learn some more astrology? Do check out April’s fantastic book The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology! (Psst! Oprah likes it, too!) And don’t forget to forage through our podcast archives – plenty of learning opportunities in each and every episode! . 03:15 – The Sun, at 24.14 Aries, sextiles Mars in Gemini (April 13). The Sun represents selfhood and heart, and Mars is how we get things done. In this case, the heart is made visible through our work. (Review Episode 16, Let's Talk about Sextiles for more on this aspect.) . 05:00 – Then the Sun sextiles Jupiter at 25.56 Aquarius (April 15). The Sun is on the Sabian symbol, “A man possessed of more gifts than he can hold.” Jupiter sits on, “A hydrometer.” Are you doing too much? Just because you can do everything doesn’t mean you have to! . 06:03 – The Sun continues on and squares Pluto at 26.46 Capricorn (April 16). While the Sun is about self, Pluto is about the communal experience and what serves the greater good. We might find ourselves pushing to believe in ourselves this week. (Hint: Often, the best way to regain confidence is to confront a difficult challenge.) Pluto is on the symbol, “A mountain pilgrimage” (which we discuss in last week’s Episode 76, Aries New Moon: An 8-Track Mind). . 08:39 – Remember, squares and oppositions (hard aspects) often force us to take action (whether we want to or not). We may or may not notice trines and sextiles (soft aspects), and we often have a choice about responding (or not). . 10:40 – Venus enters Taurus (April 14 - May 8)! Venus represents what we want, our values, and our relationships. In Taurus, we may feel more patient for what we want, and we may find ourselves enjoying the pleasures of the good life. . 12:27 – Head’s up! Venus will make a conjunction with Uranus and square to Saturn next week, so this Venus in Taurus may bring unexpected financial/relationship developments. (And let’s not forget that Saturn and Uranus are in a square all year! Here’s a great one to listen to: Episode 69, Saturn and Uranus: That Escalated Quickly!) And, if you have planets between 9°-12° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius… you’re probably feeling the squeeze, podpals. . 16:28 – Mars, at 26.12 Gemini, trines Jupiter in Aquarius (April 16). While Mars has been in the sign of the twins, the drive to learn more and explore different options has been at the forefront. It’s possible that now we will see some rewards! Yay! . 19:13 – This week’s Moonwatch segment is brought to you by our newest non-imaginary sponsor: Victoria Pendragon! Check out her personal natal chart paintings! (Note: V's new site is all set up!) . 22:37 – **MOONWATCH ** This week we welcome the Crescent Moon at 11.28 Gemini (Apr. 15, 10:57 pm – Apr. 19, 11:59 pm PDT)! The Crescent Moon begins when the Moon makes a semisquare aspect (45°) to the Sun; in this case, the Sun is at 26.28 Aries. This is the moment in the lunar cycle when something often captures our interest. The Moon sits on the Sabian symbol, “A slave girl demands her rights of her mistress,” which speaks to standing up for yourself, or appreciating someone who does. (Check out Episode 74, Libra Full Moon: Go Fly a Kite! for more on that symbol, or learn more about the lunar phases in Episode 34, The 8 Lunar Phases: Have Them with a Salad!) Don’t forget to sign up for April's mailing list to get her free Moon tutorial! . 27:13 – Mercury is busy on the 17th!! The planet of communication is at 27° Aries, and first sextiles Jupiter in Aquarius (9:00 am PDT), then sextiles Mars in Gemini (12:09 pm PDT), and finally squares Pluto in Capricorn (2:49 pm PDT). The sextiles represent opportunities being presented to us, but we are likely to feel the square the most because we may be presented with a problem we are forced to untangle. . 29:56 – Cazimi! Mercury joins up with the Sun at 29.14 Aries (April 18) on the symbol, “A duck pond and its brood.” Time to get your ducks in a row! (And here are some NASA skywatching tips.) . 31:04 – Here’s your refresher on what it means when a planet is at the last degree (29°) of a sign! We also covered planets at 0 and 29 degrees in Episode 15, Venus + Pie: 0-29 Degrees of Separation. . 34:37 – Hi, friends! And a round of applause for our friends in Switzerland, who put the BSA podcast on the charts there. Hooray! . 03:20 – Settle in for a mini-lesson on the houses of initiative and leadership, AKA the angular houses (the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th). These houses fix us in place on the map of time and correspond to the Sun’s location just before sunrise and sunset, and just before midnight and midday. (Interested in a tutoring session with April? Yes, please!) . 04:36 – The 1st house: your personality, physical body, and personal defense. . 06:53 – Think of the houses as polarities, not simply one unit. Opposite the 1st house is the 7th – they go together like pie and ice cream! The 1st house corresponds with sunrise, and the 7th with sunset. The 7th house is also about joining forces with others, and how we compete (which includes your rivals and “open enemies”). . 09:13 – The 4th house corresponds with midnight and is located at the bottom of the chart (the IC). The 10th house corresponds with noon and is located at the top of the chart (the MC). Here’s a handy cheatsheet to give you a visual! . 10:05 – The 4th house is where you are rooted in the world: your family, security, and nourishment, as well as the defense of these things. . 10:25 – The 10th house: your social status, pursuing your calling or career, defending your reputation. . 11:25 – Do you have planets in the angular houses? Do most people have a planet in an angular house? What if your angular houses are empty? Here’s what all that means! . 13:18 – April’s book The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology has a whole chapter (Chapter 9: Celestial Navigation) on angular houses! Pick up a copy if you don’t have one, won’t you? Oprah recommends it! . 13:43 – Venus, at 15.11 Pisces, squares the Lunar Nodes on the Sabian symbol, “The flow of inspiration” (March 9). The North Node in Gemini is on, “A woman suffragist orating.” And the South Node is on, “Seagulls watching a ship.” Perhaps the path forward is in speaking out – especially as it relates to relationships, money, and values. . 16:14 – A two-fer: The Sun joins up with Neptune on March 10, and a few days later Venus does the same on March 13. All of this action happens on the same Sabian symbol: 21 Pisces, “A little white lamb, a child, and a Chinese servant.” April sees this symbol as one that highlights relationships based on caring and oversight; it’s a reset for creative and relationship cycles to attune to the oneness of all things. Jen wonders if the Sun will pass along a dreamy message – perhaps something about imagination, compassion, healing, or spirituality. Neptune then whispers to Venus, “Here’s the dream: Care for each other, help each other! And oh hey, maybe save the taxes ‘til next week!” (Review Episode 23, Talkin’ Taurus and the Void (Of Course!) Moon to hear our first conversation about this symbol.) . 21:53 – Speaking of angular houses… this week’s Moonwatch segment is brought to you by our non-imaginary sponsor: Tenth House Creative! You can also find them on IG: @tenthhousecreative . 24:45 – **MOONWATCH ** This week brings a New Moon at 23.03 Pisces (March 13) on the Sabian symbol, “An inhabited island,” which speaks to the ways in which we are both together and apart from others. Pisces, in general, is a sign that needs time away; it soaks up all the surrounding vibes and then needs a rest. Maybe watch the movie Cast Away while you are on your retreat? . 26:30 – New Moons are a good time to plant something fresh: They start new 28-day,6-month, and 2.5-year cycles. This New Moon also features four planets – the Sun, Moon, Venus, and Neptune - close together in Pisces, all making a helpful sextile to Pluto, lending some spine and grounding. The four-planet pile-up is also square the Nodes, because we are at the midpoint of eclipse season! (April’s eclipse report, “Followed by a Moonshadow,” will help you get ready!) . 28:36 – The green light we’ve been waiting for: This New Moon also features Mars in Gemini trine Saturn in Aquarius, a get-it-done aspect. This aspect will lend the capacity to come up with a plan, map it out, take the individual needed steps, and get started. Perhaps it’s a good time to make a move regarding those big Sun-conjunct-Neptune dreams! . 31:59 – Thanks for listening, podpals! Lunar eclipses are often about changes in relationship – have you taken a particular path as far as it can go? The Gemini/Sag axis is about information, learning, and ideas. It is generally more impactful if you have planets/points between 4°38’ and 12°38’ of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces. (Do check out where on Earth this eclipse is happening; perhaps you can see it from your city! And, to find the house where the eclipse falls in your birth chart, here's April's helpful post!) . 08:23 – Other eclipses near 8 Gemini occurred on: May 30 1984 (Solar), Nov. 29 1993 (Lunar), May 31 2003 (Solar), June 1 2011 (Solar), and Nov. 28 2012 (Lunar). Saturn is packing his bags to head into Aquarius soon, and this handshake happens at the anaretic degree. There has been a lot of earth energy throughout 2020… air is incoming in a few weeks! Mercury in Scorpio is a magical placement; your request might be granted, but first you must ask… and always remember the three essential prayers! . 20:10 – Mercury bounds into Sagittarius (Dec. 1), communicating in a more frank, open, cheerful, and opinionated way. Beware thinking you know everything! . 23:13 – Venus, at 18°10’ Scorpio, trines Neptune in Pisces (Dec. 5/6). Kelly Sue Milano began studying astrology around the same time that she traded her acting training for the study of writing for television. It was amazing to her how the archetypal nature of writing fiction seemed so similar to the archetypal arrangement of a natal chart. Several essential energies, all working in harmony, to bring a beautiful story to life. It’s Taurus New Moon time, but April and Jen explore the mounting tension between rule-making (Saturn) and rule-breaking (Uranus) that interfere with this sign’s legendarily calm vibe. What does it mean when Venus, the planetary ruler of this bullish New Moon, is out-of-bounds and totally unsupervised? And what will her protracted aspects to Neptune mean for your relationships? Also, April 25th is brought to you by the adjective intense, so mark your calendars. Plus: encyclopedias, carbtacular shelter-in-place snacks, and music of the 80's - featuring a cameo appearance by Jen’s parents! April’s fantastic books can be found right here! And, since Jen forgot to mention April’s books at the beginning of the episode, she’ll add them to the show notes right off the bat in an effort to redeem herself: The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology is the book that made Oprah's list of top astrology books. But you also can’t go wrong with Astrological Transits! . 03:20 – ** Moonwatch**! There’s a New Moon at 3°24’ Taurus on April 23! Jen is always reminded of a certain Duran Duran song at this time in the lunar cycle. And as Jen waxes nostalgic about 80’s icons Culture Club, April’s spidey-senses tingle: did tweenager Jen have posterd of these groups on her bedroom wall? . 05:34 – Let’s hop in the wayback time machine and ask Jen’s parents! It wasn’t just preteens who enjoyed Boy George… Karma Chameleon is a timeless classic.

We've heard you loud and clear, so from now on we'll be offering monthly 'Masterclasses' as well as fortnightly astrology weather episodes. Now in Aries, she's unleashing an independent and confident vibe. This may encourage you to explore some of your own desires by putting yourself first for the next 4 weeks. Episode links: Technical note: Apologies for some audio issues this week which left April sounding like Prince Albert in a can. We’ve isolated the problem and will return to form next episode! 00:53 – April (a Leo) admits to a fascination with royalty, as she and Jen link the astrology of the times with Meghan and Harry’s decision to step back from being senior royals. 07:27 – ***Moonwatch!** A First Quarter Moon (see Episode 2) on February 1st at 13 degrees Taurus is on the Sabian symbol “A man handling baggage.” Is this baggage physical or emotional? Is Jupiter carrying your bags? Why are airlines so hard on your baggage? And why are there a couple of different versions of the Sabian symbols out in the world? Plus: still no theme song, but much lively humming. 11:47 – Venus sinks into a soothing Neptunian bubble bath with a conjunction on January 27th. Is what you *think* you want what you *really* want? And the next day… 15:23 – … It’s Mars vs. Neptune! Having touched on planes during the Moonwatch segment, we move on now to trains - along with a raftload of other metaphors. Plus: Are you more like Joan of Arc or Don Quixote? 17:36 – The birth chart as a theater set… oops! Jen had no idea April used this analogy in her book The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology  (*takes sheepish glance at keyboard and hugs April’s book, which recently arrived, closer*). [“Probably not original to me, Jen. Hold your head high!” ~ April] One of your co-hosts loves theatre of all stripes, the other prefers her theatre in iambic pentameter. If you’re a regular listener with keen insight, you might just be able to figure this one out! 21:04 – “Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties cause it’s cold out there!” Groundhog Day, oh Groundhog Day, how April and Jen do love you!! 22:52 – The plot of this episode’s eponymous film is belatedly laid out. Should April and Jen have led with that? Yeah, probably. They blame Neptune. (Note that April uses this film as an example of the 6th and 12th houses in her Followed by a Moonshadow eclipse report!) 25:36 – The history and symbolism of Groundhog Day. The holiday, not the movie. Think: fertility and purification. Did you know that February comes from the Latin term februum? 26:40 – Jen’s mini-monologue on movies about rebirth and redemption. She pivots briefly from Groundhog Day, makes a pitstop at It’s a Wonderful Life, and drives past The Wizard of Oz while she’s in the neighborhood. 27:20 – April makes the case for February’s vaguely Neptunian/12th house bona fides; Jen scratches her head and has many follow-up questions… it all sounds so Plutonian to her. Things gets deep. 30:11 – Why do we use the birth chart for astrology instead of a conception chart? April untangles that particular knot, first referenced all the way back in Episode 1. 31:33 – Realizing that it’s been ages – maybe four minutes! – since they’ve referenced anything from the 70s, 80s, or 90s, your co-hosts would like to thank you for joining them “At the Movies with April and Jen” (with apologies to Siskel and Ebert)! 32:25 – Hey you! Yeah, you! The one who must’ve not only listened to the podcast, but made it to the end of these show notes!
