They discuss creating a more human brand, focusing on impact before why, the impact of AI and how to improve your public speaking. KEY TAKEAWAYS People make purchasing decisions based on emotion, which is why you must connect with them as a human. Keeping things simple makes it easier for people to see and understand what you offer and for you to deliver outstanding service. Be honest, share your challenges and imperfections. People face the similar issues and more readily connect with others who are open in this way. Be clear about the impact you want to have. Let go of who you think you are or are told to be. Replace it with who you really are. But in our quest for efficiency and cost-saving solutions, we've forgotten a very crucial aspect of business relationships: Human connection.   The days of the liquid lunch are long gone; deals are made through online exchanges -- not over a drink and some conversation downtown. In this episode of The Liquid Lunch Project, Matt and Luigi sit down with Bryan Kramer, business coach, speaker, author, and CEO of PureMatter. To Bryan, “being human” is THE biggest competitive advantage - yet, many business owners are removing their “humanness” from the equation.    But people still crave connection. And it's those companies that go above and beyond to cross the digital divide to connect with their costumers on a human level that will come out as victors in the end.    What You'll Learn: How to improve the customer journey How to create “delightful surprises” and why it's so important How Bryan helps business owners with purpose-driven marketing consulting If you need a marketing degree to be a successful marketer How he prepared for his interview with Ted Turner ...and much more!   Favorite Quote: “We can and should reach out to people, not just when we deliver something or need something, but when they least expect it.”   Connect with Bryan! In Episode 009 I got to jam with the "Zen of Marketing" as labeled by Forbes, Mr. Bryan Kramer. He is also a TEDtalk Keynote Speaker, Author of Shareology and Human to Human, as well as the CEO of a company called Pure Matter. PODCAST EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS These are some of the major takeaways that you should take note of from this episode:   Business has always been human-to-human. We do business with humans and companies seem to forget that quite often. Companies need to focus on humanizing experiences. What marketing was 10 years ago, today, and next 1-3 years will be completely different. However, at the epic center of it all are human experiences. AI, AR, VR will change those human experiences. Human touch is essential to everything. Including business and marketing. Technology will not supplement the human touch but rather strengthen it. Experiences such as Disney are things we remember as humans. Companies and brands need to focus on establishing such experiences with their customers. Losing a client is a hard pill to swallow. Getting a new one is much harder than retaining an existing one. You lose an opportunity but to retain the client focus on engagement with them and create unique experiences. Being human is quite fundamental. Everyone, including B2B and B2C should have access to the customer. Brands should be engaging with a customer more often and enforce a more 360 experience. Customer service is in essence the new form or marketing. Social media allows for a more human experience. Something that brands really need to pay stronger attention to and recognize of importance. Attention and superior time for people should be more seamless rather than shutting them off. Think the Disney experience. Delivering a better human experience can be one of the biggest marketing assets for companies. THE BIZ GRIND YOUTUBE SHOW The Biz Grind YouTube Show is a daily vlog where I talk about whatever but mostly a snapshot of my day-to-day shenanigans and a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, business, or marketing. Today we join bestselling author and TEDx speaker Bryan Kramer to discuss the power of sharing to drive customer engagement and create lasting human connections. Viral content and the art of Shareology From sharing content to sharing rides, humans are hard-wired for sharing. But before we can share content and ideas customers will want to engage with, we must first understand why people share things in the first place. How does it relate to our brands? How does it relate to our customers’ goals? Bryan Kramer has it down to a science. Bryan gives us some valuable insights from his extensive research into the science of sharing, and how it has changed over the generations. It’s still different for everyone, so beware the tendency to assume all members of a given segment or generation share and interact with content the same way! As humans, Bryan explains, “we want to connect in ways that stands out. We want to be a part of something greater than ourselves.” The best brands strike a great balance between automation and personalization to stay efficient while forging mutually-rewarding relationships. Before you share anything else, please consider the four common elements to highly-engaging content that goes viral. Brian lays them all out for us and compares some real-life success stories from brands that get it. About our guest Bryan is an author of the recently released bestselling book There is No More B2B or B2C: It’s Human to Human #H2H. Bryan is a Social Business Strategist and CEO of PureMatter where he’s led his agency to consistent growth over the last 13 years earning a spot as one of Silicon Valley’s fastest growing private companies by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Bryan recently delivered a TED Talk for TED@IBM. He has also been listed as the 43rd most talked about marketer by global senior marketers in a report study via LeadTail, The Top 50 Social CEOs on Twitter in the world by the Huffington Post, and was identified as a Top 25 Influencer to follow by Forbes.
