In a surprising move, Salame updated his LinkedIn profile to announce his "new position" as an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland. This unusual post has garnered significant attention online, with many users expressing their surprise and amusement.Salame's journey to prison is closely tied to the downfall of FTX and its founder, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF). SBF, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison, was at the center of a massive cryptocurrency fraud scandal. Salame, along with other top executives like Caroline Ellison and Nishad Singh, pleaded guilty to various charges including operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business and making illegal campaign contributions.Salame's role in the scandal involved conspiring with SBF to hide the financial instability of FTX and using company funds for personal and political gain. Despite his cooperation with prosecutors, Salame's actions were deemed severe enough to warrant a significant prison term. His LinkedIn post, while seemingly light-hearted, underscores the stark reality of his situation and the public's fascination with the dramatic fall of these once-powerful figures in the cryptocurrency world. As Salame begins his prison term, it serves as a reminder of the consequences of financial malfeasance and the importance of accountability in the rapidly evolving world of cryptocurrency. The saga of FTX and its executives continues to captivate audiences, highlighting both the potential for financial innovation and the risks associated with unchecked ambition and greed.

“Social media is part of our world… So, we don't realize we're using it to numb. We don't realize we're needing this instant gratification to avoid our deepest wounds.” – Lucas Salame   This episode has been a long-time coming and I'm so excited to finally share it with you. After appearing on his podcast, The New Age Sage, I just knew that I had to bring Lucas Salame onto The Brave Table. Our conversation is raw, uncut, and most definitely courageous. For such a young man, Lucas shares deeply profound insights about owning emotions, shedding shame, and redefining masculinity. His transformational journey is inspiring for any generation. Let's get into it!   In this episode, we talk about… Recovering in isolation from drug addiction and seeking help after attempted suicide during traumatic times. Unpacking psychiatric misdiagnosis, electing for a cold turkey detox, and learning the how to's of self-help. Acknowledging the detriments of instant gratification to the mental health of teens and young adults. Addressing shame and how the contradictions of societal expectations contribute to the wounding of men. Giving value based on function, or conditional love, and the trauma it creates in children.   After a life or death awakening experience, attempting suicide due to the side effects of over eight psychiatric medications, Lucas Salame had the choice to keep following the path of a drug addict or to pull himself out of darkness. He chose to address his inner wounds, move past the stigma of being labeled bipolar, and commit himself to deep contemplation. Through prioritizing his health and well-being, as well as sharing his experiences with others, Lucas no longer uses drugs to escape. Instead, he channels his energy into what he believes is his true life's purpose–being a voice and creating a community for those who have experienced mental health issues. Lucas dedicates his time to providing an abundance of resources to assist those on the healing path though his show, The New Age Sage Podcast, and his expansive archive of written content. Lawyer Brian Klein joins the show to explain why Sam Bankman-Fried being locked up makes it “much tougher” for his legal team. This week, the judge presiding over the case said SBF went too far in attempting to intimidate key witnesses – chief among them former Alameda Research co-CEO (and ex-flame) Caroline Ellison. Will a jail cell change SBF's defiant tune ahead of a hotly anticipated October trial date? Klein weighs in. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, Podcast Addict, Pocket Casts, Stitcher, Castbox, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, or on your favorite podcast platform. Show highlights: why the detention of SBF changes the dynamics of the trial preparation why Brian believes that the appeal to the detention won't prevail whether these new conditions will lead to a request for a delay of the trial whether the fact that SBF is now in jail will make him more interested in a plea deal                 why both the prosecution and the defense have filed motions to limit allowable evidence and what that means for the trial what the short-term future of the trial looks like how long a trial like this would take to play out Thank you to our sponsors!
