Everyone Talks About the Bitcoin Halving - Almost Nobody Can Explain What It Actually Does to the PriceThe halving is one of the most talked about events in Bitcoin. Most people who've heard of it still can't explain what it actually is, what it does to miners, or why it has preceded a significant price increase every single time it has occurred. This episode fixes that in eight minutes. In this episode:What the halving actually is and why Satoshi built it into Bitcoin's code from the very beginning, including why the total supply of Bitcoin is fixed at 21 million and how the halving is the mechanism that gets us thereThe full history of all four halvings, the price at the time of each one, and what happened to the price in the 12 to 18 months that followed, including the most recent halving in April 2024 and the $126,000 peak that followed in October 2025Why the energy cost of mining creates a natural price floor that no other asset in the world has, and how that relationship between miner costs and Bitcoin price explains the pattern that repeats after every halvingThe next halving, when it is expected, what the reward drops to, and what the historical data suggests about the window that followsIf you know someone who keeps hearing the word halving and has no idea what it means, send them this one.If you've got questions and don't really have anyone to talk to about Bitcoin...-- Book a free call: [LINK] -- Follow Myles on Instagram: [LINK] -- Check My Personal Website: [LINK]Most people around you - family, friends, colleagues - don't really get it yet. Every generation says the next one is soft. Rob's dad said it. Dustin's dad said it. Now coaches are saying it about the athletes in their gyms right now. But before we accept the premise, it's worth asking a harder question: what if they're not softer at all? What if they're just more aware, more informed, and asking better questions than we're ready to answer? In this episode, Rob and Dustin take on the lazy version of the "today's athletes are soft" conversation and push toward something more useful — what coaches actually need to do differently when the people in front of them have more access, more options, and more questions than any generation before them.TopicsWhy "they're soft" is usually the wrong diagnosis — and what coaches miss when they stop thereThe difference between questions and questioning — and why Rob took it personally for yearsWhat COVID and social media actually broke (hint: it wasn't toughness — it was conflict resolution)How parents haven't really changed, but their access hasWhy coaches need to redefine toughness before they can teach it — Dustin's shift from calling out soft plays to catching tough onesThe Steve Magness two-part definition of team toughness: psychological safety + a real path to getting betterWhy the best marketer wins online, and what that means for how coaches teach their craft nowThe honest follow-up question: how much time are coaches spending on the 1% of 1% who bail? One Line Worth Thinking About"I don't think I've ever been harder on my guys from a practice, from a communication, from an accountability standpoint. And yet I don't think I've ever received more." — Dustin GalyonFor The Coach ListeningThree questions to take into your next staff meeting or solo drive home:When was the last time you trained conflict resolution like you train any other skill? What does tough actually look like in your program — and have you ever told your athletes specifically? Are you catching the tough plays, or only flagging the soft ones?About the Impactful Coaching ProjectThe Impactful Coaching Project develops coaches who coach the whole person. This is the one we saved for last. After two raw, honest, grace-filled episodes on the parts of motherhood nobody talks about — we brought the whole Women Soaring team together for this final motherhood episode. Tayler, Alora, Mary, and Clarissa. All four of us. All in. Because we believed the most honest conversation deserved the most voices around the table. In this final episode of the motherhood portion of our mini-series Things Christian Women Don't Say Out Loud, we go straight into the question nobody wants to answer out loud: Have you ever looked at your children and felt like you had absolutely nothing left to give? And we answer it. Honestly. Without the performance. Without the pretending. Just four moms who have been in the thick of it — three kids in diapers, 5pm with nothing eaten, the kind of tired that sleep doesn't fix — talking about what actually got them through. In this episode we talk about:What it actually feels like to have nothing left — and what to do in that momentThree kids in diapers, non-stop days, and the survival mode nobody prepares you forWhy "God will never give you more than you can handle" is NOT in the Bible — and what He actually does insteadElisabeth Elliott's "do the next thing" — the only strategy that works when the whole day feels impossibleThe sanctifying power of being given more than you can handleHow to rely on God's strength when your own is completely goneThe mom job description nobody signed up for — but billions of women are living every single dayFinding your community even when it doesn't look like what you expectedWhat happens when you show up anyway — and God meets you thereThe closing prayer over every mom listening who is running on empty right nowScripture anchors:Lamentations 3:22-23 — "His mercies are new every morning."2 Corinthians 12:9 — "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."This episode ends with a prayer over you. Over the mom who is barely holding on. Over the mom who hasn't eaten since breakfast. Over the mom who just needs someone to see her today. We see you. God sees you. And His mercies are new tomorrow.

Send a question or message to Kate & SamWelcome to Episode 10 of the Roadmap to Business Success series, and the first episode of Quadrant 3: Grow Smart | Capacity! Most business owners start with a skill or a product, not a model. They figure it out as they go. And if you don't design your model intentionally, your business will design itself, and it usually designs itself into something that consumes your life.In this episode, Kate and Sam get honest about the difference between accidental growth and intentional design, and why getting clear on your business model is the single most important thing you can do to create sustainable revenue, freedom and a business you actually love running."If you don't design your model, the business will design itself, and it usually designs itself into something that consumes your life."In this episode, you will learn:Business model vs business plan vs business structure: Why these three terms are not interchangeable, and what each one actually means for your businessThe fragmented model trap: Why having multiple revenue streams that don't talk to each other creates chaos, exhaustion and a business that's almost impossible to scale, and how to fix itIntentional vs accidental growth: Why accidental businesses are usually chaotic and exhausting and the simple questions to ask yourself to design something that actually worksScale is a choice, not an obligation: Why 10x growth isn't the right goal for everyone, and how to design a business model around the lifestyle, freedom and revenue that actually lights you upReverse engineer your profit goal: How to start with the number you want in your pocket and work backwards to figure out exactly what your business model needs to look like to get you thereThe product spiral, not the product ladder: Why Sam has banned the term "product ladder" and why a spiral or loop model that keeps clients circling through your offerings is far more powerful than a linear funnel with a dead endRecurring revenue as a non-negotiable: Why the businesses that are valued the highest, and feel the most stable to run, are the ones with subscription, membership or retainer income baked into their modelThe Matt Church cluster methodology: How launching one cluster every three to six months, one market, one problem, one method of delivery, and assuming 50% will fail gives you the freedom to experiment without betting everything on one ideaZone of genius as a design parameter: Why your business model should be built around the work that puts you in your zone of genius, not just the work you can do or the work that pays wellBusiness should be boring: Why repeatability and predictability are the foundations of freedom, and why the excitement should come from your life, not your businessKate and Sam also share personal stories about the moments they realised they were operating outside their zone of genius, why the Revenue Breakthrough Workshop felt so energising compared to a day of back-to-back one-on-one sessions, and why the question "what is your end game?" is one of the most important questions every business owner needs to answer.Coming Up Next: Episode 11 To hire or not to hire? If you've ever talked yourself out of going after a product line because the niche felt too saturated, this episode is going to reframe that completely.Saturation is one of the most common reasons sellers hold back on Etsy, and it's also one of the most misunderstood. Every niche is saturated. The entire internet is saturated. And yet new sellers are breaking through in competitive spaces every single day, because saturation doesn't mean there's no room. It means there's demand. In this episode I'm breaking down why saturation is a strategy problem, not a niche problem, and how to find the pockets of opportunity inside even the most competitive categories on Etsy. What You'll Learn:Why a saturated niche is actually a sign that buyers are thereThe difference between competing everywhere in a niche and finding where you actually have room to growWhy the biggest shops in your niche can't dominate every buyer search and what that means for youWhat long-tail keywords have to do with finding your opening in a saturated marketWhat to do next:- Enroll in the Etsy Visibility Accelerator: https://sarahjwaggoner.com/evapod- DM me on Instagram to talk through where your opportunity is: https://www.instagram.com/sarahjwaggoner/

Getting to your first $25,000 saved is harder than anything that comes after it. Not because the math is complicated -- because the habits aren't built yet, the fixed expenses are already set, and the standard advice about cutting small treats completely misses where the real leverage is. Scott Trench, VP of Operations at BiggerPockets and author of Set for Life, brings a roadmap that challenges almost everything you've heard about getting started -- and it begins with a decision most people aren't willing to make. What You'll Walk Away WithWhy the first $25,000 is the hardest milestone -- and why cutting lattes and happy hours won't get you thereThe three budget categories that actually matter -- and why they account for two thirds of what most people spendWhy saving your next $1,000 is more valuable than earning your next $1,000 -- and the tax math that proves itThe house hacking strategy that can eliminate your largest monthly expense entirely -- even if you never want to be a full-time landlordWhy stocks are less risky than bonds for long-term investors -- and the age-based argument Scott makes that most people missThe counterintuitive case for spending more on fun -- once you've handled the big fixed expenses firstWhy developing a specialty may actually be riskier than being adaptable -- and what that means for your career strategyThe retirement account trap that catches early savers off guard -- and when maxing out isn't the right first moveHow to actually vet a financial advisor before handing over your money -- and why the problem is often as much the client as the advisorWhy international stocks belong in your portfolio even when they've underperformed -- and the rebalancing math that changes the pictureWhy This Matters NowThis conversation was originally recorded years ago, but it was pulled from the vault for a reason: saving that first $25,000 feels harder today than it did then. Costs are higher, decisions feel riskier, and it's easier than ever to feel stuck before you even get started. The core framework Scott lays out hasn't changed -- and if anything, it applies more directly now than when it was first recorded. From the BasementScott Trench joins Joe and OG to walk through the early chapters of Set for Life -- the ones that challenge conventional saving wisdom before getting into the real estate strategy BiggerPockets is known for. The headline segment takes on a Bloomberg piece about bad financial advisors and a lawsuit against American Funds, and OG gets considerably more animated than usual about both. Doug arrives with muni bond trivia that turns out to be exactly as straightforward as it sounds -- which is either reassuring or anticlimactic depending on your expectations.Resources MentionedSet for Life by Scott Trench -- biggerpockets.com/setforlifeThe Truth About Money by Ric Edelman -- referenced by Joe as a foundational personal finance readFINRA BrokerCheck -- finra.org/brokercheck; referenced for vetting financial advisorsStacking Benjamins Scorecard -- stackingbenjamins.com/scorecardStacking Benjamins Vault -- stackingbenjamins.com/vaultStacking Benjamins Community -- stackingbenjamins.com/basementSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this episode, I sit down with Don Bies – former Lucasfilm archivist and special effects artist at ILM – for a deep dive into his career and his time inside the Star Wars archive. Don takes me right back to his childhood in Chicago, where a viewing of the 1931 Frankenstein sparked a lifelong fascination with makeup effects and filmmaking . From experimenting with homemade prosthetics to building a full-size R2-D2, his early passion eventually led him to California. We talk about his first major break working on The Fly, where he contributed to several effects – many of which ended up on the cutting room floor, but gave him invaluable experience. From there, Don's path into Lucasfilm begins, starting with operating R2-D2 on commercials alongside Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and even George Lucas. That connection ultimately led to him working on the Lucasfilm archives. This is where things get really interesting. Don describes what it was like stepping into a warehouse full of original Star Wars props, models and documents – much of it undocumented and at risk of being lost or discarded . He shares stories of discovering key items like Darth Vader's helmet hidden in a crate, uncovering original manuscripts and audio recordings, and building one of the first digital catalogues of the collection. We also get into:His role in early Lucasfilm exhibitions and the growth of the archiveWorking at Skywalker Ranch and the unique creative environment thereThe transition period between Return of the Jedi and the Special EditionsWearing multiple costumes (including Boba Fett) during the Special Edition shootsThe reality of preserving film history inside a working production companyIt's a brilliant conversation that really captures a moment in time when Star Wars history could easily have been lost – and the people who helped save it.This podcast is completely independent and made possible by listener support. But he started with $30K, student loans, and an apartment in New York where one paycheck covered rent and the other covered everything else.In this episode, Joe gets candid about the deals that didn't work, the market conditions that are keeping multifamily investors in a holding pattern, and the one acquisition strategy most operators are completely ignoring right now: going direct to the lender. Here's what we cover:Why Fort Worth and Orlando are Ashcroft's two highest-conviction markets heading into late 2026How Joe acquired a property for less than the outstanding debt — and what it took to get thereThe lender relationship play that gives you first look at off-market distressed deals (even if you don't have your own management company)Where the supply/demand shift is — and why Q3 2026 is the number operators keep landing onJoe's personal 3.5% math: out of 140 LP deals across 50+ operators, what's actually gone to zeroThe fixed vs. floating rate lesson that still stingsHow Joe defines success — and it has nothing to do with deal countJoe also shares his three bucket list goals for the year. And this conversation is not comfortable—but it is necessary.

Born in the U.S. but raised in Chile, she came to Texas at 18 with no financial support and worked her way through college while getting her start in real estate. We are joined by Valentina Marincioni (UCL, UKCMB) and returning guest Toby Cambray (Greengauge) to talk about the bane of all buildings: moisture.Recently, they they've produced a simple explainer video about "breathability" in buildings for the UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings. Given Jeff's proclivity for referring to the 'sweatability' of buildings this seemed like a perfect opportunity to have Toby back and meet his colleague Valentina. We got into the subject of moisture in some depth, discussed the key terms (vapour diffusion, hygroscopicity, and capillary action), why this all matters, what's important to understand and how it's easily misunderstood and easily miscommunicated. We also play the audio from the video.Notes from the showBuildings Don't Breathe, the video that led to the conversationToby on LinkedInValentina on LinkedInThe UKCMB website and the tools and guidance they host thereThe recent Historic England paper: Air and Vapour Control Layers (AVCLs) in buildings of traditional construction. You've made a breakthrough. You've figured out what went wrong and you're finally on the right path. So why does your wife still seem disconnected… or even upset? In Part 2 of this powerful conversation, we unpack the often-missed truth behind emotional whiplash: when men share the destination of their growth without taking their wife along for the journey. We discuss:Why your wife may not trust your progress unless she sees how you got thereThe iceberg analogy: why she can't see your internal workHow to bring her into your reflection without being dragged into shameWhy slowing the process down might save the relationship, not sabotage itHow your excitement can unintentionally leave her behindThe power of starting with “I was reflecting…”What it really means to “walk her through” your progress instead of dumping it on herThis episode is for husbands who are trying, but keep hearing:“You still don't get it.”Even when you thought you did.Want to read more about this topic? https://www.lifechangingservices.org/the-warrior-code/Rather Watch Something? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw-KuldXksICheck out the Marriage Repair Workshops: https://www.lifechangingservices.org/marriage-repair/

Scott Fuglistaller was one of those champion team mates who did everything he could to be the best he could be. Unfortunately for the self acclaimed battler it was just never quite enough during his time at the Hurricanes competing with some pretty gifted athletes. He found a way though with moves to the Highlanders and then the Melbourne Rebels for him to become a regular Super Rugby starter and even captain. Sitting at a natural weight of around 80kgs, Scotty had to work so hard in the gym and with his diet to get to a weight that he could survive in the forwards at Super Rugby level. That came at a price, having 11 major surgeries during his career which took it's toll. Some other parts that stood out for me in this one were..The freedom Scotty had growing up which meant he grew up quickHow finding rugby was a turning point in his lifeHow he got from 80kg to 106kgsHis battles with self confidence and why he played his best under pressureWhy he moved to Japan and his time playing thereThe struggle of life after rugbyAnd how he landed in his current role of helping retired players tranisition with the NZRPA.As you'll hear Scotty has had a journey to get where he is, he's such a top man who will always put others first. Let me know what stood out for you in this one in the comments

Whose Kingdom Are You Building?Think about it: everyone's building someone's kingdomA successful friend of mine wants to start his own businessHe's made a lot of money for the owner of his companyDawned on him: why doesn't he start his own!!Today's point isn't to inspire a new generation of entrepreneursIt's to call your attention to this fact:Everyone's working for someone's kingdomEither God's or yoursToday as we meet King Herod we'll find a ruler desperate to protect his kingdom at all costs, even opposing God's eternal plan.NOTE: The Bible mentions several rulers named Herod, each playing a distinct role in different contexts. The Herods were a dynasty of Edomite rulers under Roman control, and they feature prominently in the New Testament:1st Gen: Herod the Great: Ruler at Jesus' birth. (Matthew 2:16-18)2nd Gen:Herod Archelaus: Feared by Joseph. (Matthew 2:22)Herod Antipas: Executed John the Baptist, mocked Jesus. (Matthew 16:13)3rd Gen: Herod Agrippa I: Executed the apostle James and imprisoned Peter. (Acts 12:1-4)4th Gen: Herod Agrippa II: Heard Paul's defense. (Acts 25:13–26:32)Herod the Great = clear bad guy in the storyDriven by self-interest (building his own kingdom) made some terrible decisionsIt's easy to see sin in someone else's life, isn't it?But when we look in the mirror, we're often blind…Truth is: We are Herod - we all tend to do this, act out of destructive self-interest:Sinful HabitsAddiction that destroys you and your relationshipsOr Even Good things:Careers: pushing hard at any cost (often families)Finances: building wealth without asking “what for?”Relationships: burning bridges Influence: Gaining followers but losing friendsBlinded by self-interest: Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos (see “The Dropout” podcast) once celebrated as a groundbreaking entrepreneur who promised to revolutionize the medical industry with her blood-testing technology. obsessed with maintaining her
