EP# 230 - Embracing Your Hidden Element. An interview with Feng Shui expert and author, Tisha Morris. Have I told you all lately how much I love my job? My Empowering Chat Podcast introduces me to so many interesting and amazing people. I know I say this often, but I truly love what I do. My guest for this episode is Tisha Morris, a feng shui expert and author. Tisha's experience and training with feng shui led her to write her most current book, Missing Element, Hidden Strength. I asked Tisha to share how she came to write this book. She uses the ancient wisdom of Taoist principles to identify your most challenging element. She goes on to say that everything on the planet is made of these 5 elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Metal and Earth. And in the same way that we use Feng Shui to balance the energy in the material world it can also be used to balance our inner world. According to Tisha is it is all about recognizing the elements we each carry and finding our primary element or strength and then the opposite one or the weak missing element, which reflects our untapped potential. It's is all about the opposites in life or as she puts it the yin and yang, and how we learn to work with both. Tisha points out how we can tap into our potential by identifying our most challenging element and turning it into our hidden strength. We can all earn how to access all 5 of these elements to up level our life. Fascinating stuff! Our personal constitution can hold a lot of beautiful answers as to how we best learn, when we're most productive and who we may be the most creative with, but perhaps we haven't been given the correct tools to find out who we truly are. Today I'm talking with best-selling author Tisha Morris about her latest book Missing Element, Hidden Strength. In this book Tisha uses the 5 Taoist elements - water, wood, fire, earth or metal - to help us understand which element we may be leaning more towards at any moment, but more importantly, which element may need more attention and how best to support it. Tisha draws from her life experiences and passions from feng shui, coaching & entertainment law, to bring this wisdom to you in an approachable and relatable way. While all five Chinese elements are contained within our energy system, we each embody a primary element, which defines our natural strengths, and a weak or missing element, which reflects our untapped potential. When you embrace your missing element―water, wood, fire, earth, or metal―you can pull yourself out of a rut and bring more harmony and success into your life and work.Tisha Morris teaches you how to apply the ancient wisdom of Taoist principles, so you can identify and improve your most challenging element. Moving your desk to the power position and expressing your energy with clothing are just a couple of the ways to awaken dormant aspects of yourself and integrate your creative right-brain with your business left-brain. It's time to turn your missing element into your hidden strength.https://tishamorris.com/

I am deep in clean out mode. A few days ago I got “hit” with the inspiration to complete my laundry room/closet project that I abandoned a few months ago. A simple nudge from the Universe sent me down a path of Feng Shui which got me excited to clean out, rearrange and revamp my laundry room. In today's episode, I share the flow that brought me here and how this is part of my work. I talk about the parallels to house clean out projects and emotional clear out, and what it means for my business when I suddenly need to tackle a house project. Do you want to live in a clean uncluttered home? Tisha Morris author of Mind, Body, Home: Transform Your Life One Room at a Time can help you change your life by changing the space that you live in. Do you ever feel like a million bucks when you walk into a home or office that's tidy and uses its space well? There are alot of things that go into how Feng Shui affects our energy and body. Color, where you place things, clutter are just a few of the things that take on a subtle nature in terms of how you feel when you walk into a certain space. You want to make sure that everything you bring into your home (not just what you eat in terms of groceries) is something you love. You see everything vibrates and everything at the sub atomic level is energy. Everything you bring into your home should serve you. It should serve a purpose, make you happy, provide a function and generally make you feel good. If it doesn't then the first step in Feng Shui is to declutter your home. It's a cleansing process just like with our bodies. We need to get rid of items that no longer serve us. This is very important. Don't have things around you simply because they're there or they have memories. Tisha Morris helps walk people through the idea of setting up their homes to be a place of inspiration, motivation and joy. I'm excited to invite back on the show Tisha Morris and Rachel Lang. So many of you reached out after our December show thanking me for the information so I knew that it would be poignant to have them back on to pick up where we left off. What can we expect? What does the energy entail in the coming months? If you go back and listen to the show in December we talked about the severity and restriction we would be facing and we also discussed how to get the Feng Shui right since we’d be at home - what we didn’t know was what exactly that meant, but we knew something big was coming! This is a time to lean into a new paradigm. I've said it before and I will say it again, your life "pre quarantine" no longer exists. A new normal is emerging and this is a glorious time to get clear about what you want that to be. This is a highly creative time to literally bring forth the life you’ve only imagined possible. Religion, health, tech and finances are all getting a massive over haul. And we said that in December too. The most important thing is to bring your awareness to the things you most desire and stop focusing on the anxiety and seeming chaos of it all. Just imagine what we could create if instead of panic we focused on love and kindness. We have the power to do that!!! Today, us girls are going to talk shop about where we were in December, what the experience has been like thus far and what we can expect moving forward. Grab some snacks, a beverage and let's get this party started.

In today's episode we're discussing 2020 Feng Shui and Astrology Predictions. I sit down with Feng Shui expert Tisha Morris and Astrology expert, Rachel Lang to discuss what to expect in 2020. Through awareness, and utilizing powerful energy principles we can navigate the upcoming challenges with ease and grace and stay hopeful with several auspicious energy days that apply to everyone. For over a decade mystics have talked about 2020. I first heard about it in 2009 when my New Mexico astrologer at the time, Tom Brady, said this new paradigm was the new normal and we would be building to the year 2020 - which is the culmination of the chaos, havoc and challenges ahead. We have reached the top of the mountain so to speak and it will be nothing short of what the mystics said it would hold. On the bright side, many new innovations will occur in this year and through upheaval comes great and powerful change! Are you ready? Let's do this! And be sure to check out the YouTube channel too because I filmed this episode!
Today K + L are kicking it off with dreams and ways to cleanse your home from unwanted energy! Have you ever experienced a psychic dream? Lindsey shares a friend’s psychic dream that involved L and a new romance, then Krista illustrates her recent natural disaster dreams and the meaning behind them. Krista breaks down the exact way she’s been cleansing her apartment - from playing sounds that break up stuck energy, burning palo santo, and smudge sprays by Tisha Morris, you’ll learn some fun new ways to cleanse your home’s energy! THE INTERVIEW Today we are joined by the founder and CEO of Tress for Us and host of Girl We Got This podcast, Laticia Rolle! We can’t express enough admiration for Laticia. She is the definition of a true friend with her unwavering support and love. Growing up in a large family and as an athlete for most of her life, Laticia’s life has always revolved around creating sisterhood and meaningful relationships—which is a central part of today’s conversation. Laticia vulnerably shares her experience with her parent’s divorce, toxic relationships, and cheating. We talk about the lows that come from heartbreak, the comparison game, and the incessant checking of the other girl’s Instagram. We explore the reasons women don’t leave cheaters, and Laticia explains why she finally ended her toxic relationship. She expresses the importance of asking for help, especially when you start over. We ask how Laticia began fostering her authentic self, particularly after being surrounded by high-profile individuals and extreme wealth, which influenced who she ‘had’ to be. A huge takeaway from our conversation is how we need to stop comparing ourselves to other women, and begin owning the beauty and uniqueness that is YOU. We also talk about: Why Laticia loves modeling Defining loyalty after toxic relationships Gas-lighting Women’s intuition Laticia’s inner dialogue while being cheated on Fighting for yourself and choosing yourself The role guilt plays in women’s lives Having a girl squad when you’re a kid What Laticia is proud of right now Being patient and present to your life Find more to love at almost30podcast.com! Today I have on Feng Shui expert, Tisha Morris. Tisha was actually one of my first guests on my original podcast, Zen Chakkra. And she’s the only guest that's been on all three platforms: Zen Chakkra, Design 101 and Home | Energy | Design. Isn’t that exciting? Haha! It's crazy to think that when I interviewed her back in 2012 how different my style was and just how different our careers were at the time! But I'm delighted to have her back on the show. She is an author of several books and her book Mind Body Home is by far one of my most favorite Feng Shui books. She really captures the meaning of home and our intrinsic relationship to home in that book. One of my favorite things about Tisha is her story. She started out as a practical law attorney, went into interior design and eventually landed on Feng Shui and energy healing. But it's such a testament to our journey and how it's never a straight line! It can be messy, lack clarity but it's all about the journey! Right? Today Tisha and I will talk about how she got into Feng Shui, the art of being an author, Earth, Home, School and achieving happiness in our lives through an amazing tool called Feng Shui.

SUMMARY This was a really important discussion for me. I think so often people just have no idea what Feng Shui is about actually about, or what it’s understanding could do in our lives. It’s not just about how you arrange the furniture. It’s about how we, as planetary beings, learn to live in balance and harmony with nature. I wouldn’t call Tisha a Feng Shui expert. I would call her an ambassador. A messenger with a profound understanding of our universe and how we can thrive within it. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of this discussion as I did. BIO Tisha Morris is the best-selling author of Decorating With the Five Elements of Feng Shui (Llewellyn 2015), Mind Body Home: Transform Your Life One Room at a Time (Llewellyn 2012), Feng Shui Your Life: The Quick Guide to Decluttering Your Home and Renewing Your Life (Turner Publishing 2010). HIGHLIGHTS • The term “Feng Shui” actually translates to “wind and water”. It’s used this way because of how the wind and water shape the land. It was originally used for locating proper burial or auspicious sites for royalty. • The history of Feng Shui was only recorded orally, never in written form. • Feng Shui comes from Chinese medicine. Acupuncture is actually feng shui for the body. It’s a balancing of the five elements. In turn, Feng Shui is actually Acupuncture for the home. • Feng Shui is about learning to live in harmony with nature, as a planetary being. • Feng shui begins with the land. It starts with the history and energy of the land, which will affect us as we experience that space. • It’s so important to be conscious of your space and it’s influence on you. • When you’re in a transition of some type, you’re sort of off the hook in terms of the Feng Shui of the space you’re in. However, it still has an influence on your energy, so be intentional about it. • Connection with nature allows us to instill balance in our lives. It aligns us with an element of the source of life itself. • You never want a mirror next to your bed. It’s said to allow third party entities to enter into your psyche. • The understanding of Feng Shui can help us see our blind spots, our shadows and our potential alignment with nature, humanity, and Spirit. • Physical clutter and emotional clutter are not so different and are often intertwined. • We are connected to the spaces we spend time in. Those spaces influence our energy and perspectives. We should be just as mindful. • For me (Jared), Feng Shui has opened up a whole new lens and language for understanding the world. It’s become a source of awe in my life. BEST MOMENTS If you’re not conscious of your space, what are you conscious of? There are only a few things in this world that we have control over; our mind, our body, and our home. Join Angela Lauria of the Author Incubator as she interviews feng shui consultant Tisha Morris, author of Feng Shui Your Life. Tisha didn't originally set out to become a feng shui consultant, but after practicing law for a time, she realized it wasn't for her, and so went into interior design; and it was while she was doing that, and investigating into energy healing, that she got involved in feng shui, studying it and eventually becoming a feng shui consultant. Tisha Morris originally started out as an attorney. A perfectly good and respectful profession. But what happens when you pass the bar.....and it just doesn't fulfill you despite the expectations that it would? Tisha was in a bad relationship, hated her job and needed a creative outlet. Interior design seemed like the perfect solution...only it wasn't. Although she came around to Feng Shui in a round about way, as does all things, it came to her at the perfect time. Feng Shui is the practice of energy, specifically the energy of our environments. Nurture them and you live a well balanced and in sync life. Abuse them with clutter, and nonsense and suddenly our environments wreak havoc on our lives in ways you never thought possible. Today I sit down with Tisha to learn more about this 3000 year old practice , and great tips to get you started in the right direction.
