Mike hat sich mal wieder einen Hardware-Stream angeschaut und es war gut: Framework greift wieder an, hat sich das "Pro"-Label von Apple geschnappt und möchte auch eben das Segment eines Macbook Pro bedienen. Nur eben für Windows und Linux. Die bekannte Modularität und Reparierbarkeit kombiniert mit der Eleganz und Effizienz eines Macbook Pro. Preislich natürlich auch in der Oberklasse, da können wir uns selbstverständlich bei dem ganzen KI-Gedöns und der darausfolgenden Speicherkrise bedanken, auch wenn die Framework Laptops nie billig waren. Dann der Wechsel, wir tauschen Mo gegen Meep, denn es geht um Drova - Forsaken Kin. Moment, das ist doch gar nicht neu und Mike war doch schon in Folge 101 so begeistert von der damaligen Teaser-Demo? Da habt ihr völlig recht, Drova ist bereits im Herbst 2024 erschienen und Mike hat es sich selbstverständlich auch direkt gekauft. Nur gekauft und gespielt ist nicht das gleiche. Daher hat es sich exzellent ergeben, dass das "Gothic in 2D" jetzt auch für Android und iOS erschienen ist! Das hat Mike zum Anlass genommen, endlich seine Steam-Version anzufangen, und Meep hat sich der Android-Version auf ihrem neuen Tablet angenommen. Remember way back when cameras used film? Back then, such devices were simply called cameras; they weren't specifically called film cameras until they needed to be distinguished from the digital cameras that came later. Similarly, the term desktop computer wasn't often used until laptops became prevalent. A lot of our common retronyms have come about due to technological advances: acoustic guitar emerged to contrast with electric guitar, and brick-and-mortar store came into use to distinguish traditional stores from online retailers. Retronym was coined by Frank Mankiewicz, an American journalist and former president of National Public Radio, and was first seen in print in 1980. Retronyms themselves are of course much older; British English, for example, is a retronym called into service when American English developed.
