I got to looking at all the reels my editing software creates and I realized that I can download the better ones, edit them together and load them up a best of daily edition. I know this is from Friday and today is Monday but I figured I'd give it a try. My goal is to do them daily if time and internet connection permits. Here's my best of the day (or worst depending on your perspective) from Friday, May 23rd's show (Ep #986) Here is the description from the full show, the best of features highlights from the below topics: On The Clay Edwards Show, aired Memorial Day weekend 2025, host Clay Edwards discusses America's societal shifts since George Floyd's death in 2020. Celebrating "Space Force Friday," Edwards reflects on the pendulum swing from "Black Lives Matter" to what he calls "Black fatigue," arguing that the past five years exposed flawed leadership and societal wounds now healing. He critiques the focus on race in media and politics, citing examples like the firing of WLBT's Barbie Bassett for racially insensitive remarks. Edwards debates a caller from New York, who challenges his focus on Black-on-Black crime, pointing to White suicide rates and systemic issues. Edwards counters that public violence, unlike suicide, impacts communities broadly, emphasizing local crime's effect on Jackson, Mississippi. He rejects excuses for violence, urging accountability while dismissing deflections like health disparities in Black communities. The show, marked by heated exchanges, underscores Edwards' unfiltered style and his call for unity behind shared American values, while honoring Memorial Day's true meaning—remembering fallen troops.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Two men who were abused by five former Rankin County sheriff's deputies back in early 2023 have settled their civil suit against Rankin County. On April 30, U.S. District Judge Daniel Jordan issued an order dismissing the suit brought by Michael Corey Jenkins and Eddie Terrell Parker, saying that the two had reached a settlement with Rankin County and the Rankin County Sheriff's Department. Jason Dare, an attorney for the department, provided details about the $2.5 million settlement at a press conference Thursday afternoon. “The county will pay $500,000 for that resolution. The county's insurance will pay its policy limits of $2 million for [the] resolution of that case,” he said. Dare told reporters outside the Rankin County Detention Center that the $500,000 would come out of the sheriff's department's budget. “The citizens of Rankin County are not going to be impacted by the settlement of this case,” he said. In a follow-up interview with WLBT, Dare said services will not be impacted, and that the $500,000 will likely come from different line items in the sheriff's $24.2 million budget. He said the payment will likely be made in the next 14 to 30 days and will be in one lump sum. The Rankin County Board of Supervisors will likely have to approve a resolution authorizing the payment. It was not known when that resolution would be presented. Dare went on to say that the settlement is not an admission of guilt on the county's or the sheriff's department's part. However, he did speak to the impact that the Goon Squad's actions had on the victims, the sheriff's department, and the county itself. “A lot of people were impacted by what happened in Braxton, Mississippi, on January 24, 2023, most notably, Mr. Jenkins, Mr. Parker, and their families, but also the Rankin County community, and the fine, upstanding law enforcement officers who are with the Rankin County Sheriff's Department, who have weathered the storm that has ensued since that day,” he said. “To everybody, we hope this resolution brings some sense of finality... and peace.” Parker and Jenkins filed the suit in June 2023, months after they were abused at the hands of five former Rankin deputies and one former Richland Police officer on the night of January 24, 2023. The two were seeking $400 million in compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, and other costs. Those former officers have since been sentenced on state and federal charges.

FLORENCE, Miss. (WLBT) - A man is in custody after a police chase in Rankin County. Tuesday, Florence Police Chief Brad Burns told WLBT 3 On Your Side that officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2011 Black GMC Yukon on Highway 49 for improper equipment violations. Chief Burns said that while officers attempted to get the suspect and driver of the vehicle, Thomas Fresquez, out of the vehicle, he took off, and a chase ensued. Florence police said the driver ran multiple red lights into the city of Richland. With Richland PD's assistance, the Yukon was spiked near Kroger, where it was a successful hit as three tires were disabled. A Richland Police K-9 was deployed into the vehicle, and Fresquez was then removed from his vehicle and taken into custody. According to the chief, the man was found to have a large amount of THC wax and three firearms. Fresquez faces multiple charges, including trafficking a controlled substance, felony fleeing, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana in close proximity of a firearm, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, false information to a law enforcement officer, suspended driver's license, no insurance expired tag, and improper equipment. Fresquez also has a full extradition warrant from Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Mississippi Highway Patrol also assisted with the arrest.

Four white people have been arrested in Jackson, Mississippi while breaking into the Metrocenter mall in what looks to be an attempt to steal copper. We take a look back to a story from WLBT on Sept. 30th that claimed the current Metrocenter resident (a movie studio) claimed that Ayran Brotherhood gang members were stealing copper and transporting it to Houston for Mexican drug cartels. I initially called BS on this story, but now I'm questioning my original assumption. Below is the current story from WLBT JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Four people were arrested by the Jackson Police Department for Business Burglary among other crimes. Jackson Police Department Precinct Two Units responded to 3645 Metro Center Drive regarding a burglary in progress Thursday. Upon receiving a description of the suspects and the suspect's vehicle, officers were able to apprehend them on the top-level loading dock. Suspects forced their way into the building on the lower level of Burlington Department Store. The vehicle used in the crime was a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado truck with a switch tag. Located inside the vehicle were guns, burglary tools, and copper wire. Four suspects were taken into custody and transported to police headquarters to be interviewed. According to JPD, after the interview, the four suspects were booked into the jail on the following charges:

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A former Hinds County supervisor and a community activist from Bolton are calling on the city to end its contract with a private company now handling parking meters in downtown Jackson. On Tuesday, David Archie and Addie Green appeared before the city council, where they decried the parking kiosks, saying senior citizens don't know how to use them, and they're not easily accessible for those with disabilities. “Jackson, Mississippi, is in a state of emergency. We have all kinds of issues and all kinds of problems, but this is one problem that we can solve right away, by removing those meters, rescinding the contract with this company,” Archie said. Archie said the city should look for other ways to increase revenue, rather than using the new meters. He also contends Jackson is breaking the law by charging too much for parking violations. He referenced one court case from California backing up his point. “If you need money, go to Washington, D.C., go to the State House. Beg, plead, ask for money to run this capital city, but don't put the burden on the people that are coming downtown trying to do business,” he said. “Jackson is not ready for that.” Currently, someone ticketed in downtown Jackson will receive an initial fine of $24.50. If the amount is not paid within 30 days, it will increase to $44.50. The fine includes an administrative fee of $3.50. “You have the right to charge a certain amount for the ticket, but when you get into a $24 ticket, and then you don't pay in [a] certain [number of] days, you raise it to $44.50, they call that something excessive,” he said. The comments are the latest in a string of concerns raised by residents regarding the new parking kiosks, which were installed a part of a contract with SP Plus Corporation. The council approved entering into a contract with SP in 2023 to install the state-of-the-art kiosks throughout the downtown area. Under terms of that agreement, SP receives a $94,500 management fee, along with a two percent “incentive fee” from each parking fine collected. The kiosks, impact about 850 spaces, and give residents the ability to pay using their phones, credit cards, or cash. They were initially expected to generate about $2.2 million a year in new revenue. Jackson Director of Communications Melissa Faith Payne was unsure how much the meters had brought in as of Thursday. WLBT has since filed an open record request for that information. As far as Green's and Archie's concerns, Payne said the city takes all comments under advisement. She said the meters are more convenient because they offer residents multiple options to pay, including with credit cards, coins, or online. Green, a community activist from Bolton, told the council that many senior citizens don't know how to use the devices. She also says that the kiosks are not located close enough for drivers with disabilities. “People come to town trying to buy tags, pay their taxes, and many times there is no meter for the handicapped to go to right there [where they] park,” she said. “They have to go down the street to [enter] their registration.” Unlike the previous meters, which were located at each parking space, each zone has a kiosk, and drivers often have to walk to find one if they're paying in cash or by credit card. Residents also can pay via their smart phones, by texting a code to the number listed on a sign. Customers then receive an automatic reply with a link directing them to the website to pay. It costs a dollar an hour to park. Green and Archie said they also don't like the fact that they can't get in touch with anyone if a ticket is given. “You can't call anyone that will answer the telephone,” Green said. “It's a big mess.” Fines can be paid online, via an address provided on the ticket. They also can be mailed in to Park Jackson, on Fortification Drive East.

Organizers are hoping to spark change as they flood the streets in Jackson with their message. “We need unity, we need peace.” “Where is the love in Jackson Streets?” Those were some of the chants that rang out at the rally. With signs in hand, rallygoers let their voices and presence be known at every corner of McDowell Road. Many of them stopped vehicles to spread messages of love and peace. “We are in a community right now that's hurting. They need to see that someone cares for them and cares about them,” said Fabian Nelson, State Representative of District 66 James Hopkins is one of the organizers of the rally. “It's time to put the guns down and stop the violence”. He says the goal is to bring awareness to the ongoing violence that continues to plague the capital city, hoping to bring it all to an end. “Sometimes we just need this to remind people that we are still a city. There are still people out here who love the city and people who want things to be better,” the community activists said. According to WLBT's Homicide tracker, the city is now at 90 homicides. Below is from WLBT's website story about the city of Ridgeland banning Kratom effective immediately RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) - Another municipality is joining the long list of cities and counties that have banned the use and sale of Kratom. On Tuesday, the Ridgeland mayor and Board of Aldermen approved a measure banning the drug in the city limits. Because the measure was passed unanimously, it goes into effect immediately, Mayor Gene McGee said. “It can be something that can be dangerous, particularly for young people not knowing what they're getting into. We really needed to get it off the shelves,” he said. McGee said in about 10 days, the Ridgeland Police Department will begin working with businesses to pull the substance. “A week or two after they ask them to do that, then if someone continues to have it on their shelves, selling it, that sort of thing, they'll be written tickets,” he said. Meanwhile, officials in the city of Madison say they're likely going to take action to ban Kratom as well. “I anticipate the city of Madison will put an ordinance before the board very soon,” said City Attorney Chelsea Brannon. “We were waiting to see what the Legislature did to make sure we didn't do anything contrary [to state statute].” Kratom comes from a tropical tree in Southeast Asia. Based on the dosage, the consumption of Kratom leaves can serve as a stimulant or a sedative. The substance largely is sold at convenience stores, vape, and CBD shops, according to Drug Enforcement Agency data. At least a dozen counties and more than two dozen cities have banned the substance across the state, including Gluckstadt back in 2022. Since implementing the ordinance, Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale said the city has had few violations. “We did have one store that we found was [selling] it. We went and talked with them and worked with them, and they took it out, but as far as having to cite anybody or anything like that, we have not,” he said. Despite being banned on the local level, Kratom is not banned in the state. Months following a WLBT investigation, at least eight pieces of legislation were introduced during the 2024 legislation session to address the drug, but none of them passed.

PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - The suspect who shot and killed a Summit Police officer Thursday had a warrant filed weeks earlier, ordering law enforcement to arrest him for violating conditions of a 2020 prison release, according to records obtained exclusively by 3 On Your Side. Our investigation reveals that Usher Leonard, 25, had violated his post-release supervision requirements by failing to check in with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for more than a year. It's unclear whether Leonard's apparent violation of the law might have played a role in what took place Wednesday when state investigators say he shot and killed Summit Police Officer Troy Floyd. However, WLBT found the affidavit supporting a warrant for Leonard's arrest came nearly 20 months before the court apparently approved it, on October 10, 2022. The court did not provide any documentation for the delay in its official filings or docket. Leonard's post-release conditions stemmed from a 2018 conviction on 11 burglary counts and eight counts of conspiracy to commit burglary in Pike County. He served two years of a six-year sentence, with MDOC releasing him through earned release supervision. Seven months later, authorities found Leonard had violated his post-release conditions by failing to pay court fines or complete his restitution.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba stands behind comments he made in a private phone call that a water takeover could make the city “no longer Black.” “I am proud that I live in a majority Black city. And I don't apologize for that,” he said. “Now does that mean that I have any ill intent or ill will or any designs against anybody else? Absolutely not.” “But we're like anybody else. There is some comfort in being able to be in a space that looks like you, that relates to you culturally.” Lumumba was responding to a question about comments he made during a private phone call with former Water Operations Manager Mary Carter. The comments were played during Carter's wrongful termination trial last month in U.S. District Court. The mayor was recorded saying, “We absolutely believe that there is a coordinated effort to take this water treatment facility and that effort... it's bigger than the little politics that we get into. If that happens, that is going to be the first step of trying to make the city no longer Black.” Lumumba said that similar efforts had already impacted the city of Detroit, which he said, “[isn't] as Black as... it used to be.” He did not explain in the phone call how the takeover made Detroit less Black. Jackson has one of the largest African American populations of any major city in the United States, with 82.2 percent of residents being Black, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. By comparison, Detroit's population is 77.8 percent African American. The comments were made in July 2022, weeks before the city's main water treatment plant shut down, leaving tens of thousands of people without running water for weeks. The comments also came months before the city's water system was put under the control of a federal receiver. Others heard on the phone call include Dr. Safiya Omari, the mayor's chief of staff, and Carter herself. He said the attorneys likely released the conversation to sway the majority-white jury to find in favor of Carter. However, he said that strategy did not work. Carter was fired as Jackson's Deputy Director of Water Operations in 2022 amid the water crisis. She claimed she was terminated for speaking out in an interview with WLBT. Attorneys for the city claimed that she was fired for being incompetent. “I'm not going to be ashamed of any comments because I assume I'm being recorded at all times in life,” Lumumba said. “In every moment, not just because there are cameras. I always assume and have always assumed that I'm being recorded.” Lumumba said Carter likely recorded the conversation because she knew she would be fired. According to court documents, former Public Works Director Marlin King drew up two draft termination letters for Carter the summer before the water crisis. King was demoted at the start of the crisis and later resigned from the city.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - House Bill 1020, one of the more controversial bills passed during the 2023 Legislative session, is now in effect. “We're all excited about working with more law enforcement because any time you see blue lights, you're gonna not quite commit the crime,” said Wendell Watts. Previously, the Capitol Complex Improvement District spanned over 8.63 square miles. Now, that coverage area has doubled, giving Capitol Police primary jurisdiction in 15% of Jackson. “We've been building our police force, too,” said Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell. “We were granted up to 150 officers a year ago, and we've reached that goal. We actually have a couple more than that. So we built that foresight, [and] we've been preparing, and we're ready for the expansion.” So what happens if you call 911 in the new CCID? “911, right now, will go through all of us, Watts explained. “[It] will go through the Jackson Police Department. Now once AT&T is done with the 911 system for Capitol [Police], they will be routed to their dispatch system at that point.” When it comes to the new court system where judges and prosecutors are appointed rather than elected, construction on the new court house and holding facility is still in the works. “I think there were certain aspects of it that was struck down,” Tindell said. “But one of the things that did remain was having the CCID court, which is focused on misdemeanors, preliminary hearings, and bond hearings. Every municipality across the state has one of those.” However, Chief Justice Mike Randolph has yet to appoint a CCID judge at this time, which means the Jackson Municipal Court judges will continue to handle Capitol Police cases. Despite the coordination overlap in dispatch, court hearings, and cases, DPS and JPD feel the transition will be smooth. “I haven't seen that type of collaboration in a very long time,” Watts said. “I think we're going do a lot for the city.” “This is by no means a takeover,” Tindell said. “This is a force multiplier, and law enforcement agencies working together to create a safer city.” _________________________________________________________________   HINDS COUNTY, Miss. — The Hinds County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with Capitol police to launch the "4th of July Holiday Blitz." The operation, which kicks off Wednesday, July 3, and goes through Sunday, July 7, is aimed at enhancing safety and promoting “responsible celebrations during the holiday weekend,” according to a news release from the sheriff. The operation will include saturation patrols across Hinds County to deter criminal activity and enforce traffic laws. Residents can also expect to see traffic safety checkpoints that will target impaired drivers and seat belt violations, among other safety concerns. “Let's celebrate safely,” Sheriff Tyree Jones said. “Designate a sober driver, buckle up and enjoy the holiday responsibly.” ___________________________________________________________________   JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A former Pearl police chief who was the subject of a 3 On Your Side investigation into possible misuse of Rankin County tax dollars now has a high-ranking role at one state agency while he's being investigated by another. The Department of Public Safety confirmed Dean Scott started working for Capitol Police on July 1. Spokesperson Bailey Martin said Scott was hired as a lieutenant and will be over communications and dispatch but did not disclose his salary. The average annual pay for a lieutenant with Capitol Police is approximately $70,000, according to records WLBT obtained from the Mississippi State Personnel Board. “With the growth of Capitol Police, the department is continuing to build its team and seeking experienced law enforcement officers to meet the demands of the expanding district,” Martin said in a statement to WLBT. “Dean Scott's former experience in communications will be an asset as a Dispatch Supervisor.”

Tennessee recently passed some laws forbidding drag queens at schools and gender transition surgeries for children under the age of 18, this appears to be a response from that. America clearly has a mental health crisis disguised as a gun crisis. 2. Two minors have been charged with murder and another adult has been charged with accessory after the fact. The family disputes JPD's claim that he died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound and based on the charges pressed I'd have to agree. 3. When Claude E. Ramsay sat down with us in April of 1981 to discuss his career and tenure as President of the Mississippi AFL – CIO, the three main topics of that series of interviews were: worker’s rights, voting rights, and civil rights. Forty years later, those same three issues are still grabbing headlines across the nation. Whether it is Amazon employees in Alabama trying to unionize, GOP efforts to restrict voting after the 2020 election, the Black Lives Matter movement, or the uptick in violence against Asian, Hispanic, and Jewish communities, the struggle for better working conditions, access to the ballot and freedom from discrimination continues against the same forces using the same tactics and reasoning. 1981 - In 1939, Claude Ramsay went to work for the International Paper Company in Pascagoula. In this episode, he recalls joining the paper-workers union and rising through the ranks to become president. Ramsay was elected President of the Mississippi AFL – CIO in 1959. He discusses working with Medgar Evers to secure voting rights and labor rights for all Mississippians. Ramsay also details his meeting with President Kennedy the day after Evers’s assignation. In 1964, after years of complaints about the anti-union, anti-civil rights biases of WLBT, the AFL – CIO joined the United Church of Christ in petitioning the FCC to revoke the Jackson television station’s license. Ramsay explains why they felt it was important to take a stand against “right wing propaganda.” The Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlawed employment discrimination based on gender and ethnicity. Ramsay discusses how the law also aided efforts to organize Mississippi’s workers.

“Journalism is hard work, it’s tedious, it’s serious, it’s necessary, and it’s the foundation of democracy.” In August of 1973, after attending the Michelle Clark Fellowship Program for Minority Journalists at Columbia University, Pinkston was promoted to WLBT’s 6:00 PM newscast, the first African American to anchor the #1 newscast at Mississippi’s #1 television station. In 1974, he accepted a position with Post-Newsweek Station WJXT-TV, a CBS affiliate in Jacksonville, Florida, as the urban affairs director and producer. In 1976, Pinkston transferred to Post-Newsweek’s WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut, where he held posts as anchor, reporter and producer of public affairs programs. While working in Hartford, he earned his J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1980. That same year, Pinkston was hired as a correspondent with WCBS-TV, where he worked until 1990 when he was appointed as a CBS News White House correspondent. Pinkston reported on stories of national and international significance from the Persian Gulf War to the nomination of Justice Clarence Thomas. In 1994, he moved to the CBS New York news bureau and served as a correspondent for CBS Evening News as well as a contributor, reporter and correspondent for other CBS news broadcasts, including CBS Reports, CBS 48 Hours, and CBS Sunday Morning.  In 2013, Pinkston ended a thirty-three year career with CBS. [caption id="attachment_1081" align="aligncenter" width="342"] Don't Believe the HYPE! Media Bias Uncovered[/caption] Fake News Birth, Media Bias, and Infotainment [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="250"] American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America[/caption] The birth of fake news has been a long time coming. We are the products of that which we seek. America is the land of diversity and very much locked into tribal mentality.  On the website the insider, there is a very goo article listing the 11 Nations of the United states. The 11 nations of America article is a very good read gauging Fake news media bias and division in the country go hand in hand. Find the article at http://www.businessinsider.com/the-11-nations-of-the-united-states-2015-7 . Fake news and the directed news information is not a new phenomenon. We started to segregate our personal information when Talk Radio was popularized in the 1980's and 1990's.  These platforms were the doctors of spin for a core audience of individuals listening to branded information. John Daly became one of the early pioneers regarding the current medium considered as infotainment with his television show Real TV which began in 1996. [caption id="attachment_1084" align="alignleft" width="200"] John Daly[/caption] Bio John Daly was taken from Informed Not Inflamed: John Daly is a journalist, news anchor, writer, author, spokesperson, and TV host.  He is best known as a pioneer in reality TV for hosting the ground-breaking show Real TV, the first all-video news magazine show. Daly’s skills as a host, a writer, and an interviewer have led to one thing: solid audience ratings.  He has consistently increased audience share on any TV show or newscast he anchored. Real TV, distributed by Paramount Domestic Television, achieved the highest first year ratings of any show.  Within two years, the all-video show was attracting more than 4 million viewers a night.  Real TV also brought Daly an international reputation since the show was seen in all English-speaking countries around the world. As the host of the Billionaire lifestyle, accurate information is vital. Accurate information is the most important factor for providing adults with tools to make a proper decision regarding their life and living situations. Without accurate media information as a nation, community or individual our ability to make sound decisions are sabotaged. Available on Amazon    or      or       or        Truth Hurts During our conversation, John Daly pointed out how we have reached a point of being comfortable or being correct seem to be far more important than being informed. Somehow we just want our opinions, be they correct or incorrect validated. in a nutshell, our population has resided to the entertainment platform for news versus fact-checking journalism. The evidence is clear too much information is too much. Information is so plentiful, where we cannot distinguish fact from fiction. The 21-century living construct is being connected to the entire world constantly. I see how we could be thought of as living in The Matrix where there is so much information presented as real, where nothing is concrete and tangible. Show me the Money The structure of media has morphed into a vehicle to make money. Television is a for-profit business. Television and media, in general, make profits by selling advertisements. If these entities cannot place eyeballs on the advertiser's products, they die. What would you do if you have a dwindling customer base, due to freedom of choice ( Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, Vice News), and the expansion of options for the consumer who is your audience? Reality TV did not help! The growing popularity of "Reality TV" fueled the fire.  It is synonymous to equating Greco-roman Olympic wrestling to The WWE. Where are the players look as though they are on the same field, but in reality, the scenario's are the exact opposite. We have accepted reality and Fake news as one big soup  at face value television The Fairness Doctrine Abandonment. (From Wikipedia) Much of this movement away from fact checking in media came about, in 1985,  the when it was believed the Fairness Doctrine "hurt the public interest and violated free speech rights guaranteed by the First Amendment." The Fairness Doctrine was a policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, that required the holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was — in the Commission's view — honest, equitable, and balanced. Origin In 1949, the Mayflower Doctrine, which had forbidden editorializing on the radio since 1941, was repealed.[5] This made way for the Fairness Doctrine.[5] The 1949 FCC Commission Report served as the foundation for the Fairness Doctrine. It established two forms of regulation on broadcasters: to provide adequate coverage of public issues, and to ensure that coverage fairly represented opposing views.[6] The second rule required broadcasters to provide reply time to issue-oriented citizens. Broadcasters could, therefore, trigger Fairness Doctrine complaints without editorializing. The commission required neither of the Fairness Doctrine's obligations before 1949. Until then broadcasters had to satisfy only general “public interest” standards of the Communications Act.[7][8] The doctrine remained a matter of general policy and was applied on a case-by-case basis until 1967, when certain provisions of the doctrine were incorporated into FCC regulations.[9] In a 1969 textbook case, the United States courts of appeals, in an opinion written by Warren Burger, directed the FCC to revoke Lamar Broadcasting's license for television station WLBT due to the station's segregationist politics and ongoing censorship of NBC network news coverage of the US civil rights movement.[10] Fairness Doctrine - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine The Fairness Doctrine Fake News Definition ( From Wikipedia) Fake news is a type of hoax or deliberate spread of misinformation, be it via the traditional news media or via social media, with the intent to mislead in order to gain financially or politically. Fake news websites (also referred to as hoax news[1][2]) deliberately publish hoaxes, propaganda, and disinformation purporting to be real news—often using social media to drive web traffic and amplify their effect.[3][4][5] Unlike news satire, fake news websites seek to mislead rather than entertain readers, often for financial or political gain.[6][4] Such sites have promoted political falsehoods in Germany,[7][8] Indonesia and the Philippines,[9] Sweden,[10][11] Myanmar,[12] and the United States.[13][14][15] Many sites originate, or are promoted, from Russia,[3][13][16] Macedonia,[17][18] Romania,[19] and the United States.[20][21] Fake news - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fake_news   InfoTainment Definition: in·fo·tain·ment ˌinfōˈtānmənt/ noun  1. broadcast material that is intended both to entertain and to inform.   Here is what you can do to educate yourself.
