The publicity caravan has been a Tour de France institution for almost a century. Introduced in 1930 by the race founder Henri Desgrange to generate much needed funds for the Tour, the cavalcade of promotional vehicles that precedes the race has grown to become a much-loved spectacle for millions of roadside fans every summer. It's bright, colourful and noisy and during Tuesday's fifth stage The Cycling Podcast's Graham Willgoss was part of the show. He had a place on one of the Basic Fit floats, promoting a chain of French gyms. He joined the happy, enthusiastic (mostly) young people for their pre-race dance to get the energy levels pumping ahead of the stage. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Kashmiris felt being suspected and criminalised. Amid rampant arrests and deaths, families like that of Nazir Ahmad Magray – whose 20-year-old son was taken in a night raid by the Jammu and Kashmir Police's Special Operations Group – have been left shattered.“We are talking about three brothers [and one man] who went missing and there was no believable story from the police. It is said that they drowned in Veshaw river or naala, which was completely dry and no one could have drowned there,” says Jatinder. Meanwhile, Sunil's report uncovers an unseen, unheard truth from Bihar. At Bodh Gaya's Mahabodhi Mahavihara – a sacred Buddhist site – Buddhist monks and Dalit-Bahujan groups are protesting the Bodh Gaya Temple Act of 1949, which mandates Hindu involvement in managing the temple. Dave Calabro, formerly with WTHR, joins Jake Query in sharing stories about Don Hein following the announcement of his passing earlier today and what he learned from Hein as being the guy who was brought in to replace Hein when he retired. Additionally, Calabro comments on the passing of Dick Mittman. (26:09-39:54) – JP Shadrick from Jaguars.com is the next company camp caravan stop for Query & Company. Jake asks JP about the transition for Head Coach Liam Coan so far, where Trevor Lawrence is at mentally as he tries to learn his third different offense in his career, believes that Jacksonville will let Travis Hunter play both offense and defense, and shares what the Jaguars fans think of the Indianapolis Colts. (39:54-53:40) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake and Eddie discussing the likelihood that the Indiana Pacers are going to bring back some collection of Isaiah Jackson, Thomas Bryant, and James Wiseman to go with Tony Bradley next season. (25:58-34:38) – There have been a lot of opinions from the national media on how the Pacers handled the Myles Turner free agency, Jake highlights what Brian Windhorst, Tim MacMahon, and Tim Bontemps said on the Hoop Collective Podcast. (34:38-42:30) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake having Eddie recap last night’s WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship game with the Indiana Fever defeating the Minnesota Lynx. (42:30-1:07:59) – James Boyd from The Athletic and Fan Morning Show joins the program to discuss who he believes will be playing center for the Indiana Pacers next season. I can't imagine giving up my home and deciding to live in a horse drawn caravan. I can't imagine moving to another country in that horse drawn caravan and buying some land on a rugged peninsula. I can't imagine living in a teepee on that land through wet and damp winters with my infant children.
