On this episode of Haunted History Chronicles, we delve into the intriguing town of Dunster and its connection to Gallox Bridge. Join host Michelle Fisher and guest Bobbie Rammond as they explore the history of this ancient packhorse bridge and the fascinating role it played in the location's past. From Dunster's own harbour to the potential link between King Arthur and the area, we uncover the secrets and mysteries that surround this historic medieval village. But the eerie tales don't stop there. Prepare yourself for spine-chilling accounts of paranormal activity from a sceptic who experienced unexplained occurrences in their room at a local establishment. Objects moved mysteriously, and strange sounds filled the night, leaving one guest unable to find a logical explanation. Could there be a ghostly presence at play? The Gruesome Consequences of Rebellion: "These men were known to all in this village as they were surrounded by weeping relatives and friends. After the hangings came the gruesome dismemberment of the corpses and the burning of their entrails."— Bobbie Rammond My Special Guest is Bobbie Rammond Bobbie Rammond is a history and archaeology enthusiast, with a degree in history, heritage, and archaeology from Plymouth University. During his time at university, he discovered his passion for history while working at Dunster Castle. This led him to delve into paranormal investigations, which he has been doing for several years. Last year, with Halloween approaching, Bobbie had an idea to combine his love for history and the paranormal by organising historical walking tours of Dunster. This sparked the creation of Extours, with their first event being the Dunster Ghost Walk, which was a great success. Building on this achievement, Bobbie now hosts various events in Somerset, where people thoroughly enjoy the intriguing combination of history and the paranormal. Haunting Locations Bobbie takes us on a haunted tour of Dunster's infamous location, "The Luttrell Arms," where ghostly sightings of a monk and a ghost dog have been reported. Carvings of ships in the wood panels hint at a connection to Dunster's harbour, adding to the intrigue of this old building with a rich history. As we continue wandering through Dunster, we stumble upon the Forester's Arm, once a candle and soap production facility turned inn. Learn about the dark past of its owner and the connection to a road previously known as Gallows Road, suggesting a chilling proximity to executions.  Haunting, Dark History of Dunster Gallox Bridge is a picturesque medieval packhorse bridge, dating to the 15th century, which runs across the River Avill on the southern outskirts of Dunster. The Bridge formed part of the main transportation route to the wool market in Dunster from the South. The bridge's name originally meant 'gallows bridge,' for a public place of execution that stood on a hill just outside the village. In 1685, three men from Dunster, Henry Lackwell, John Geanes and William Sully were hanged at the gallows for their part in the Monmouth Rebellion. In this episode, you will be able to: 1. Uncover the history of Gallox Bridge and its significance in Dunster 2. Explore Mother Leaky's ghostly encounters 3. Explore the fascinating folkore and ghost lore of Dunster and connections with local traditions 4. Explore haunted locations and paranormal encounters. "I guess in my particular case, the wood sculpture would be more of a definition of what I do. A traditional wood carver uses chisels and gouges only that are very specific. I've found that using some electric tools and sanding, I can sometimes bring the piece to the point that I like. So I'm more of a wood sculptor than I am a wood carver so to speak. A traditionalist would be a wood carver, I'm a wood sculptor. I've always been intrigued since a young child, I've always enjoyed drawing. My grandmother was a tremendous drawer and painter, my Dad loved to draw and I love to draw. I've always wanted to carve but of course, life gets in the way of so many things and work and life and children and families and that sort of thing but was able to retire early. I said you know when I retire, which was proximately nine years ago, I'm going to start carving and I've been carving ever since," said Phil Costello.Phil and his wife had a store in Maine where they sold beach decor and home furnishings. The manager at Cliff House, Nancy White, came to their store to buy some of their product at one time when they were doing some renovation at the Cliff House. She saw Phil at the studio and she said, "I'd like you to do a seven-foot carving for us for our Discovery Center." And Phil said "a seven-foot carving is an awful large carving. Nancy, said, "I just like some height, because I'd like it to be a focal point in the middle of Discovery Center." A beautiful whale that Phil crafted now sits in this space and it's a beautiful piece especially when the daylight shines in through the windows and hits it perfectly showing its beautiful markings. He absolutely loves what he does and the craft seems so simple yet it can be challenging."Okay, first and most importantly, what are we going to design on? What is our design, what's our sculpture going to be? Sometimes we'll even do it in clay to kind of get a handle on what we think is best. And once we get a good idea as to what we want to sculpt or what we want to carve in the design and then we decide on the wood. There are probably half a dozen woods that are used for carving. There are a few that I've kind of prioritized over the years. Mahogany is one of the best woods to carve because it's very hard. It's very dense. It's got beautiful grain, but because it's very hard and very dense it's very difficult to carve and it's also very hard on your tools you have to sharpen more often. The other woods that you'd use would be butter, not basswood, I use a lot of Spanish cedar spanish. Cedar is a little bit lighter than mahogany, but darker than basswood, which are butternut, which is very light-colored wood. And it's got some beautiful grains to it. But most importantly, it's very soft. So the selection of wood would be the first one. And then what I would do is quite often when I design I try to bring my design in proportion to whatever I'm trying to design. Right now I'm working on an eagle. Obviously, I don't have a six-foot wings spread, but the eagle that I'm working on now is a four-foot wings spread. So then you have to proportionate correctly. Problem is when you're doing a large carving it is very difficult if not impossible to find a large piece of wood. So what you have to do is buy wood I buy it actually rough sawn, I then have a shop where I bring it down to edge. What I do is glue the blocks together in the form of the shape of what the carving is going to be starting with tools to take the major wood away what we call boasting or taking the larger pieces away till we get a rough, rough idea of what the actual carving is. And then we started with the finer tools to bring it down and hone it to the shape and size and detail that we want. That's basically it. And then most importantly, which I sometimes have a challenge with is the finishing of it is as good a woodcarver as I like to be or, or progressing towards, I still haven't perfected the art of finishing. So either my wife who is a painter, and finisher, or I'll bring it to a finishing shop and let them do the finish coat on it. Because when you spend a lot of time you've completed a beautiful carving and if you're you're it's time to have the finish, you can't go guessing as to the right thing to do you have to have somebody that's a specialty at that doing that type of work for you," said Phil.To learn more about Phil's wood sculpting career, who inspired him, and what he plans for the future, tune in to this episode.

Today's Reading: Exodus 32:1-20Daily Lectionary: Jeremiah 11:1-23; Matthew 24:1-28“And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!'  (Ex. 32:4)In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. A translation issue from the original Hebrew helps unlock this text, and an archaeological discovery helps too.  The translation issue is this – the Hebrew word for “God” is in the plural.  This means the Hebrew translator has to decide if the text is talking about God or false gods when he sees the same word (Elohim).  In Ex. 32:4, it should be, ‘This is your god.'  There was only one golden calf Aaron made, so how could he say that was multiple gods? That makes no linguistic sense at all.  Instead, Aaron built the calf and said this was Israel's God.  It's just that he was wrong. An archaeological issue also unlocks Ex. 32.  Carvings have been discovered of ancient idols standing on the backs of animals, usually bulls or lions. Idolaters thought that their (false) gods had power over these creatures if they stood on their backs.  Notice, Aaron does not make a graven image standing on the calf.  There's nothing but empty air there.  That's because God commanded that He should not be made into idol form.  Aaron was careful to follow that word.  But Aaron also borrowed pagan religious practices for God's worship.  Apparently, Aaron thought the substance of the true God's worship would stay the same, even if the style changed to be more relevant to his day. But this blended worship angered God.God's worship should never be designed by popular opinion poll, or what we think relates to sinners best.  That's because we are sinners in need of salvation we cannot come up with.  God alone has won salvation for us in His Son Jesus, by His death for our sins.  And God delivers this salvation by the Word of the Gospel and the sacraments.  Worship practices are to correspond to this. The historic liturgy does correspond to this.  The worship of the historical Lutheran church is based chiefly on what conforms to the Word of God and its doctrine best.  God is the God who justifies sinners freely on account of Jesus' death.  In worship, we come on holy ground, and leave the infatuations of our pleasure-seeking world at the door.  Lutheran worship is not bound to this time. It is timeless. And that all makes it good.  In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.Heavenly Father, guide our worship that we do not anger You by conforming it to what this evil world thinks is best, and grant that we may be Christ-centered and counter-cultural in worship.  Amen.-Pastor Robert Mayes is Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church and Zion St. John Lutheran Church in Beemer and Wisner, NE.Audio Reflections Speaker: Rev. The first illustrations of people with a modern comic book style were found in the early 1900s BCE. Carvings from this time period show that Egyptians played with creating comics, but they weren't able to create them in the same way we do today. Whew, where to begin in this one? In this episode we talk about our adventure to find the cliff rock carving that overlooks our town! This carving is really intricate and appears to represent or be some form of map....possibly, but we have no idea who constructed this massive undertaking or when they would have done it. After finding the rock, we started digging. We came across an article possibly linking this rock to the local legend of the John Swift Silver Mine. Then, Lance drops a bombshell on us in the middle of recording. Here's a little......WE'RE TREASURE HUNTERS NOW!!!Believe me, y'all do not want to miss this one. Please rate and review this episode wherever you listen to podcasts.Reach out to us with your own stories at appalachianintelligence@gmail.comFollow us on Twitter at @AiAppIntelPodFollow us on Facebook at Appalachian IntelligenceSubscribe to our YouTube channel Appalachian Intelligence Support the show

There are so many artifacts found all over Ohio that prove different. Carvings and Petroglyfts. If you take the time to look, you will see them all around you. Items such as The Newark Holly Stones, The Bat creek Stone (found in Knoxsville, Tenn), and other stones found all throughout Ohio.  Joe's passion for this reigon of study is more than just a hobby. As we travel throughout America attending Paranormal Conferences we stop at many locations to gather information to help learn more about the artifacts.  Some of the artifacts and mound structures we discuss in this episode are, The Newark Holly Stones. The Newark Holy Stones refer to a set of artifacts, allegedly discovered by David Wyrick in 1860 within a cluster of ancient Indian burial mounds near Newark Ohio, now generally believed to be a hoax. The set consists of the Keystone, a stone bowl, and the Decalogue with its sandstone box.  The Bate Creek Stone The Bat Creek Stone was professionally excavated in 1889 from an undisturbed burial mound in Eastern Tennessee by the Smithsonian's Mound Survey project. CLICK HERE FOR ALL THE PHOTOS WE TALK ABOUT IN THE EPISODE. Whether you believe that these are true or not, it is still a very interesting conversation. But with the evidence we have and have not yet found, we can clearly say that this is true.  We also discussed a park just north of Columbus, Ohio called Shale Hollow Park. You will find all kinds of interesting things in this park and all threw out Ohio. Please remember to share the show with your friends. This is Renegade Files Episode 25, Mars Anomalies.Since the days of antiquity, Mars has captured the attention and imagination of all who have looked toward the heavens. We, as Earthlings, are inexplicably drawn to the surface of Mars. The red Planet has occupied a pole position in science and science fiction since 1894 when Percival Lowell saw what he believed to be intricate systems of canals on Mars.As soon as we developed the ability to see Mars, first with telescopes, then with orbiters, and currently with unmanned rovers, the images that have come back to us have caused controversy and curiosity. On this episode of Renegade files we travel across our Solar System to the planet named for the Roman God of War. We will explore what has come to be known as the Mars Anomalies: Images, Artifacts, Statues, Carvings, and even life forms that should not be there, but nevertheless, appear to be. Are there Pyramids on Mars? Is there plant life and liquid water on Mars? And why are the most recent orbiter photographs of objects on the surface more blurry than the ones from 1976?Are there things on Mars that NASA, for whatever reason, has an interest in hiding?Board the RFA Starship Cydonia, strap yourself in, and come with me as we travel 140 million miles through space to explore the red planet in search of the Mars Anomalies.Patreon https://www.patreon.com/renegadefilesHats (and more merch) https://www.bonfire.com/store/renegade-files/Website http://therenegadefiles.comThank you for helping the show grow by sharing it with other people like us, who are into crazy covert culture. The Ky Lan is an animal-like creature that has various animal characteristics. At first, it was believed that it was a wolf, but in reality it has features of various other animals such as a dragon, a lion, deer, dragon, giraffe and a hyena. It is seen as a symbol of luck, prestige and intelligence by the local Vietnamese people and believed to appear on special occasions. The Ky Lan is quite similar to the Chinese mythical creature the Qilin and is said to be inspired by it and brought to Vietnam by traders and wandering hermits. In Vietnamese mythology, the Ky Lan is said to be part of the four benevolent animals - Long (Dragon), Quy (Turtle) and Phượng Hoàng (Pheonix).Similar one horned hybrid creatures are also present across Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai mythologies.Unsurprisingly the unicorn's appearance can vary depending on the region where the stories come from and they are often represented as a hybrid-creature comprised of a multitude of other animals.Version 1: The feet and horn of a deer, the ears of a dog, the forehead of a camel, the eyes of an eagle, the nose of a lion, the mouth of a crocodile, the body of a horse, and the tail of a bull.Version 2:  a musk deer with huge horns, a tiger's mouth, a catfish's moustache, fishlike fins on its body, and a bull's rail and hooves.Version 3: The head of a dragon and the body of horse.Ky Lan is also known as Qilin in China, Kirin in Japan, Girin in Korea and Gilen in Thailand. It is believed that the Ky Lan is an animal that brings luck, happiness, and longevity. It is also known to be kind and gentle and will not step on grass or on insects. It is also believed that the Ky Lan will never drink dirty water. The appearance of the Ky Lan is supposed to bring good luck, prosperity and good fortune. Carvings of the creature can be found at the entrances to palaces, temples and pagoda as it is considered to have the power to protect these structures from bad spirits. The Lion Dance which is performed at the Vietnamese festivals like the Lunar New Year and the Mid Autumn festival is dedicated to the Ky Lan. Although many Asian countries have the Lion Dance as part of its traditions, the Vietnamese version is quite different. It is actually known as the Unicorn Dance where Ong Dia (the Earth God) comes down to earth to dance with the unicorns. These traditions are still alive even today and celebrated with much fanfare.Read about the Ky Lan at https://mythlok.com/ky-lan/

Of these on Mesapotamia, Sumeria, I have written about the link between Sanatana Dharma/Hinduism and Mesopotamia,Assyria and Sumeria. I am mentioning only these because it is relevant to this article. Santana Dharma was prevailing throughout the world, even before Lord Rama established his empire. His ancestor Dileepa ruled the world as also Sagara, after whom the ocean was named as Sagar. I am researching on Dileepa and Shall write. Please read my articles on the presence of Sanatana Dharma in, Australia, New zealand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Bali, Fiji, Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Europe, Africa, North and South America, Caribbean….. Hinduism was present in Mesopotamia. Lord Rama is mentioned in the Kings List of Sumerian, along with Dasaratha and Bharatha. People of middle east followed the marriage vow Sapthapathi of Sanatana Sharma. Lord Subrahmanya tribe is found in Iraq.(Peacock Tribe) Lord Rama's Chapel is in Iraq. Gobekli Tepe Temple in Turkey was built by Brahmins. Lord Narasimha,an Avatar of Vishnu was called Naram Sin. Carvings of Rama and Hanuman are found in Silemania. Rama was known as Ram Sin. He ruled for sixty years. The Cambridge Ancient History[xvi][iii] which is usually not considered as a sourcebook for Indian history by writers like Romila Thapar contains priceless information relevant to Indian ancient history. In the highly authentic Sumerian king list appears such hallowed names as Bharat (Warad) Sin and Ram Sin. As Sin was the Moon god Chandra Ram Sin can be seen to be same as Rama Chandra. Bharat Sin ruled for 12 years (1834-1822 BC), exactly as stated in the Dasaratha Jataka. The Jataka statement, “Years sixty times hundred, and ten thousand more, all told, / Reigned strong-armed Rama”, only means that Rama reigned for sixty years which agrees exactly with the data of Assyriologists. Ram Sin was the longest reigning monarch of Mesopotamia who ruled for 60 years. The mention of the father in the inscriptions of both Warad Sin and Ram Sin is noteworthy and may point to a palace intrigue. Joan Oates is not aware of the Ramayana but writes with great insight (p. 61) that Warad sin was manoeuvred to the throne by his father. In Mesopotamia, a prince normally became king only after the death of his father. Lakshmana, mentioned the Bible as Lakhamar, ruled as a great king.
