Aug25 IgG (EquiLife (EL)): high12; moderate 38, low 42, yeast-moderate, candida alb-moderate. Working with EL coach. EL coach, your podcasts suggest this is leaky gut. EL wellness plan (Aug25): 7d detox>para protocol, clean gut prob., Healthy gut support, GSE drops>heavy metals detox. Eliminate: all in high+gluten, yeast (have not started yet). Am I on the right path and have you seen such cases in your practice? what is likely root cause? Thank you.                                                  Lisa: Can you recommend what to do or take if I experience abdominal pain or discomfort while vacationing in Europe later this fall? I'm concerned that access to the “right” foods might be tough while on the cruise and touring. Currently I'm in the last month of my CBO protocol and have also completed the 14 day detox and 7 day intestinal cleanse . All will be completed before I leave for Europe. Thank you, Lisa         Susy: Hi dr Cabral, my minerals and metals test showed that my zinc is optimal and copper is very low even after supplementing with zinc and copper and the DNS for 3 months. But I've noticed that copper is usually not recommended on its own by an IHP. However I've heard some practitioners say that zinc can inhibit proper copper absorption or at least take longer to get optimal levels of copper if taken with zinc. What are your thoughts on that? Or is it possible to get to much zinc if I keep taking it together?                                                                                                                                               Bettina: Hi Dr. Cabral, My husband recently purchased a testosterone supplement he came across—probably via Instagram—and I wanted to ask your opinion on the ingredients. Fillers (microcrystalline cellulose) Zinc citrate Anti-caking agents (cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose, magnesium salts of fatty acids) Stabilizer (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose) Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) Pyridoxine hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) Black pepper extract (Piper nigrum) Coating agents (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, polyethylene glycol) Coloring agent (calcium carbonate) Do you think this combination is safe and potentially effective? Thanks for your help on this :-)                Svetlana: Hello Dr.Cabral, after reading your book and listening to your podcasts I've made many positive changes to my lifestyle, one of them is taking the DNS for breakfast. I'm losing weight now (desired), but it takes me very long to finish the shake and I'm wondering if that's not a good thing in the long run since it keeps my insulin levels up without a break to my digestive system until lunch. It makes me feel very full, sometimes can't finish it until noon when I start it about 8:30am. At lunch time I'm still full and end up skipping lunch and eating supper at 5, no food after 7pm. I only put about 13oz of coconut water (or coconut milk mixed with water), 1 tbsp chia seeds, small handful of aronia berries and about 1/4 cup cauliflower in it. I used to eat 3 large meals and many snacks before       Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions!    - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3536 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? Its predecessors include stollen, a German fruit bread with spices and candied fruits, kulich, a tall Easter bread served in the Russian and Slavic regions, and panettone, a tall raisin-filled fruit cake made in Italy. But did essayist and poet Henry David Thoreau create cinnamon raisin bread? He did write about it in his journals...but it is believed that the rumor started by Concord housewives because they were delighted by Thoreau's antics. The rumor was perpetuated by a 1943 article in the Ladies Home Journal, that deemed the culinary invention as Thoreau's. This, however, was later disproved by Biographer Walter Harding, who corrected the rumor in the Thoreau Society Bulletin and stated that raisin bread, or plum cake at the time, occurred during the Elizabethan era. Apricots, flax, cinnamon and honey all make an appearance in this recipe, and all have ancient Biblical roots. Ingredients 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats 1-1/2 cups nuts: we use a combo of raw almonds roughly chopped and pistachios, chopped ½ cup dried fruit (diced apricots are a favorite) 1 generous cup seeds – sunflower, pumpkin, flax – a combo or your favorite ½ cup unsweetened coconut (optional) 1½ teaspoons cinnamon Coating ½ cup almond or peanut butter ½ cup honey or maple syrup ½ cup olive oil OR coconut, grape seed, avocado oil 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla Instructions Preheat oven to 300. Stir together oats, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, coconut if using and cinnamon. In a small saucepan over low heat, whisk together the nut butter, honey, oil and vanilla until it simmers. Pour nut butter mixture over dry ingredients and stir. Spread evenly onto parchment lined or sprayed baking sheets and bake for 30 minutes, rotating baking sheets halfway through, until golden brown.Remove from oven and let cool completely (the granola will harden as it cools) before breaking up. SMALL BATCH NUT FREE GRANOLA Ingredients 1-½ cups old fashioned oats 1 generous tablespoon olive oil Or your favorite oil 2 tablespoons maple syrup or bit more if you like 1 tablespoon vanilla 1/2 cup favorite dried fruit or mini chocolate chips – optional – add after cooling Instructions Preheat oven to 375. Mix everything together well. It may be a bit clumpy and that’s OK. Pour onto parchment lined or sprayed baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Let cool completely, then stir it up a bit to mix well. There's a a lot to be enraged about right now. People in power are making dangerous and hateful decisions. The planet is getting hotter and it can feel really hard to stay hopeful. And yet, we must. We must remain hopeful through choosing joy, simple, pure moments of unadulterated goodness. Joy is not the same thing as happiness. Happiness is often dependent on external circumstances, so it's more fleeting in nature. Joy, on the other hand, is deeper and more enduring. Even when life feels heavy, we can find joy in a sunset, a shared moment of laughter, a hot (or cold) cup of coffee, a cuddle with a furry friend, a dance in the rain… Joy is not a privilege, it's a necessity if we want to keep showing up. It's the salve we need to keep going. As we walk through the sticky heat, consider how you'll invite joy into your life today. What am I reading? The Woodsmoke Women's Book of Spells by Rachel Greenlaw https://bookshop.org/a/111301/9780063378254A Spell in the Wild by Alice Tarbuckhttps://bookshop.org/a/111301/9781529380866https://bookshop.org/shop/witchywomanwalkingWhat's playing on repeat?I Got You by Split EnzWhat's for dinner?Spinach Strawberry Salad Ingredients:Balsamic Dressing1 cup balsamic vinegar¼ cup honeySpinach Strawberry SaladSeveral cups fresh baby spinach 2-3 cups strawberries 1 cup blueberries1 diced avocado⅓ cup crumbled feta or goat cheese 1 cup pecans or walnuts Grilled chicken or salmon (optional)Instructions:Dressing:In a small saucepan, heat balsamic vinegar and honey over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat to simmer and cook, stirring, until the mixture thickens and reduces (about 10 or so minutes).Remove from heat and pour the balsamic glaze into a heat-proof bowl to cool off. On Sunday, the company, which has customers send saliva samples for DNA analysis, filed for bankruptcy. While many customers submitted their saliva for the purpose of ancestral analysis, 85% of customers also consent to their data used for genetic disease research. As the company searches for a buyer, consumer advocates, including California Attorney General Rob Bonta, have urged customers to delete their data from 23andMe's website. 23andMe and other genetic testing companies are not subject to HIPAA, meaning health and medical records kept by 23andMe could be shared with a future buyer.Producer Kathleen Davis joins Host Flora Lichtman to discuss this and other top science stories of the week.Chemists Make A Coating That Can Slow A Golf Ball's RollWith spring here, the days are getting warmer and longer, meaning conditions are perfect for a trip to the golf course. And while golf is certainly a game of physics—force, angles, parabolas—this week researchers presented work showing that chemistry could play an important role on the golf course as well. Speaking at the meeting of the American Chemical Society in San Diego, researchers described a high performance coating that could be incorporated into the polyurethane shell of a golf ball. The hydrophilic (water-loving) coating would make tiny bits of water stick to the surface of the golf ball and sheet off, modifying the way the ball interacts with the grass of the green. That interaction, says Tom Kennedy, owner of Chemical Innovative Solutions Inc., would lead to the ball rolling more slowly and reliably, especially on “fast,” closely-cut greens in dry and windy conditions.Kennedy joins Host Ira Flatow to discuss the technology, and how hydrophilic coatings could find a home in other applications, including solar cells.Transcripts for each segment will be available after the show airs on sciencefriday.com. They explore the risks associated with using concentrated products and the shift away from traditional all-purpose cleaners (APCs) towards newer, safer alternatives like Revive. The conversation highlights the need for detailers to adapt to changing product quality and the importance of understanding the materials they are working with. In this conversation, Marshall and Nick delve into the intricacies of surfactants, the debate between concentrated and ready-to-use cleaners, the importance of quality in cleaning products, and the necessity of proper panel prep for ceramic coatings. They emphasize the balance between cost, time, and quality, and share personal anecdotes to illustrate the impact of these choices on business and customer satisfaction. Takeaways Ice skating in Vegas is a new experience. Winter detailing requires creative problem-solving. Focus on interior detailing during cold months. Quality control in car manufacturing is declining. APCs can be harmful to modern plastics. New cleaning products are emerging in the market. Detailers need to adapt to changing materials. Revive offers a safer alternative to traditional cleaners. Understanding product ingredients is crucial for detailers. Dealerships heavily rely on APCs for cleaning. Understanding surfactants helps in making better product choices. Grades of surfactants indicate their harshness and suitability for different tasks. Time spent on diluting products can add up, affecting overall efficiency. Quality products can save time and provide peace of mind. The cost of saving on cheaper products can lead to significant losses in business. Proper panel prep is crucial for the effectiveness of ceramic coatings.
