JW was introduced to Dr. Walter Hayhurst R.Ph. in the early 2000s, at which time he began working on the development of natural botanical products aimed at improving mold contaminated environments. These products were taken to market though CitriSafe, BioBalance, and Micro Balance Health Products. JW created ImmunoLytics Laboratory to address indoor air quality issues related to mold. ImmunoLytics began by assisting a few doctors who wanted to determine if mold exposure in their patients' homes could be contributing to their health issues. ImmunoLytics has since grown to service hundreds of doctors and tens of thousands of patients around the world on a yearly basis. JW holds several certifications including Certified Mold Inspector, Certified Mold Remediation Contractor, AHERA Inspector, Lead Inspector, Radiation Safety Officer, Shipper of Hazardous Materials including Radioactive Materials, Thermography, and more. Donald Payne, Congressman From New Jersey, Dies At 65

Real News Now Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 25, 2024 7:04

New Jersey Congressman Donald Payne Jr., known for his charm, effectiveness, and unwavering leap towards sociopolitical equilibrium, passed away at the age of 65. While often reserved in demeanor, Payne Jr. held progressive beliefs and was dedicated to the benefit of his constituents. He faced a litany of health complications in recent years, from diabetes to renal concerns that required frequent dialysis. Today's announcement from his office indicated that an unfortunate physical accident at his residence eventually led to his hospitalization. His office clarified that the accident was not the predominant cause of his demise, but rather the climax of his long-running health battle. A combination of diabetes and hypertension created a host of medical complications during his treatment, resulting in a sudden cardiorespiratory arrest. While the medical staff tirelessly worked to treat Payne Jr. and restore his health, their efforts could not prevent his unfortunate demise. The late congressman was expected to run for his party's primary unchallenged. Payne Jr.'s lineage traces back to political stalwarts – his father, Congressman Donald Payne Sr., was a pioneering figure in New Jersey's political landscape. Upon his election in 1988, Payne Sr. etched his name in the annals as the first-ever African American to represent New Jersey in Congress. After the passing of the senior Payne, the son stepped up to continue the political legacy left behind by his father. When his father succumbed to colon cancer in March 2012, Payne Jr. sought and won the congressional nomination in the highly competitive 10th district of New Jersey. He was a favored figure among liberal voters, given his thorough endorsement of popular but ambitious progressive propositions such as universal health care, environmental preservation, equal rights, reproductive independence, and education reform. At the national level, Payne Jr. emerged as a leader driving the charge for the allocation of funds towards the provision of clean drinking water across the United States. Thanks to his efforts, close to $200 million were funneled towards renovating the water supply infrastructure in Newark. This huge sum was dedicated to replacing over 24,000 lead pipes, therefore ensuring safer water for his constituents. His contributions expanded beyond environmental matters to matters of public safety as well. He authored the Safer Neighborhoods Gun Buyback Act in 2019, with the hope of lessening gun-related incidents in local communities. He was also an ardent supporter of enhancing accessibility to affordable child care, housing, and vital medicines, and was known for his fight against climate change. Donald Payne Jr. cast his vote in favor of the Build Back Better Act, which aimed to make childcare, housing, prescription drugs more affordable, and to stand against climate change. In addition, Payne endorsed several key pieces of legislation throughout his tenure which aimed to widen the scope of the Voting Rights Act, provide a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, and enact the justice reform embodied by the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. While under democratic leadership, Payne Jr. held the position of chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials. This crucial position allowed him to enact further change in areas of infrastructure that directly impact the daily lives of American citizens. Donald Payne Jr.'s political journey began in his birth city of Newark on December 17, 1958. Before delving into politics, he led the South Ward Young Democrats, a political organization based in his hometown. His first foray into elected office mirrored his father's initial steps by running for the position of Essex County Freeholder in a wide-ranging election. His more prominent political journey began in 2012 when he entered and won both the Democratic primary and the subsequent general congressional election. He was highly regarded in progressive circles, as evidenced by his 97% voting alignment with Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, a celebrated figure of the national progressive movement, during the 117th Congress. His political career received the backing of several notable groups and personalities, including labor unions, women's health organization Planned Parenthood, municipal leaders such as Baraka and Fulop, among others. From the onset of his father's passing, Payne Jr. made it a personal mission to increase consciousness about colon cancer and the preventative measures possible, particularly among the financially disadvantaged residents of his district. Payne Jr.'s passing leaves behind his beloved wife, Beatrice, their triplets Donald III, Jack, and Yvonne, as well as his close relatives, his uncle, William Payne, and cousin, Craig Stanley — both former assemblymen representing Essex County. Payne Jr.'s life was one of service, leadership, and strong progressive perspectives that pushed towards making society better for all its constituents. His approachable demeanor and dedication to service underscored a tenacious drive to create lasting positive changes. From championing justice reform to environmental protection, Payne Jr.'s extensive effect on political and socioeconomic landscapes won't be soon forgotten. As the country commemorates the demise of this stalwart, the incisive impact of Payne Jr.'s life and career continues to reverberate. His sphere of influence, which spanned from Newark to Washington, DC, solidified his place among the nation's leading liberal thinkers and policy influencers. His legacy stands to inspire future generations to drive change and seek equitable progress in their communities. This great leader's passion for service, advocacy for social justice, and unwavering devotion to his constituents won't be easily replaced, and his contributions to American society will be remembered for generations to come. In the aftermath of this great loss, all eyes now turn towards the future of his beloved 10th district. The legacy he leaves behind will undoubtedly shape its politics for years to come. As his community and country mourn his demise, they also honor the significant contributions he made throughout his enduring career. Investigative Reporter Lara Logan is also sounding the alarm.  Her sources insist the crash could have been part of a cyber attack designed to bring the economy to a halt.  Also the ships operator, Synergy Marine, as an in-depth Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program.  DEI is now at the forefront of the culture wars and may be responsible for the increasing transportation safety issues we are seeing across the country.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hazardous Material Management challenges with former PHMSA Administrator, Skip Elliott. In this episode Skip Elliott shares with us his journey to becoming the Administrator of PHMSA and the interim Acting Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Transportation.  We had an in-depth discussion about the challenges and gaps of Hazmat Training for Emergency Response professionals supporting the Railroad industry.  Class I Railroads have a huge responsibility to train their staff and response personnel whether it's local Fire Departments and Emergency Management professionals at municipalities and rural communities, or First Responders who assist with the responding to hazmat releases.  We discussed the concerns of how to determine if those responding to an emergency have been properly training.  In light of the East Palestine train derailment, we identified some of the challenges responders faced and what went wrong.  The big question that we rustled with was, should there be an Industry Emergency Response Credential established for professionals who want to obtain proper Rail Industry required Hazmat Response training? You'll hear that and much more in this engaging episode. Why You Should Listen:  In this episode, you will learn about ImmunoLytics and gravity plate testing. About My Guest: My guest for this episode is JW Biava.  JW Biava is the Owner and CEO of ImmunoLytics, an environmental laboratory that specializes in assessing indoor environments for mold contamination and provides consultations with clients over how best to reduce any contamination found.  JW's interest in environmental mold exposure grew tremendously after determining that high levels of mold in his own home were a major contributor to his various illnesses, as well as those of his family members. JW currently spends his days running a suite of businesses aimed at providing solutions for those with environmentally acquired illnesses.  JW has been a featured speaker to hundreds of thousands through events such as The Toxic Mold Summit, The Candida Summit, The Toxic Mold Masterclass, as well as numerous podcast appearances. Key Takeaways: What are the various types of testing available? How does one break the tie when multiple methods paint different pictures? How is sampling with gravity plates performed? Do gravity plates have the ability to identify all relevant molds in biotoxin illness? What are the colony counts and how are they interpreted? What does bacteria showing up on a plate tell us? What does it mean if Candida appears on a gravity plate? What are some of the unexpected environments where mold might be found? Can swab testing identify molds that gravity plates may not? How important is source removal? What is the role of fogging or misting? How can the health of a car be improved? For some it was comical, for others it was a close call.  And now three months later another train derailment. This time, on the other side of the state, into the Yellowstone River. But this wasn't a close call and not comical by any standards. Early Saturday morning about 5 miles east of Reed Point, tanker cars from a Montana Rail Link train plunged into the river along with twisted railroad tracks, steel beams and concrete from the trestle. The tankers were each carrying hazardous materials in varying level of toxicity. With me today is Chirs Jorgensen, managing editor of the Billings Gazette newspaper, who was first to report the situation.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Episode #067After several obvious restarts our comedic duo finally get started talking about HazMat materials and how each of them has hauled them. But in different ways! Patrick hauled medical waste and Janet hauled both 6-oil and gas. So, their first hurdle is getting past Patricks' inability to read what Janet sent him for notes. The print was too small, and he wasn't going to wear glasses and adjust his chair, camera, etc.  As always, this episode is filled with a few fact-based stories, but not so much fun this time. They go into the various types of endorsements needed to haul HazMat. Because so many times there are multiple endorsements needed. Such as HazMat with tanker or doubles & tripes. From there they go on to talk a bit about the training aspect of getting and retaining that endorsement. Janet stumbles over the words FMCSA - Federal Motor Carriers' Safety Association. And both laugh at the requirement being listed to have your CDL to get the endorsements. There are of course a few chuckles along the way. Mostly Patrick laughs at Janet, but it does go both ways. From there they discuss routing requirements, requirements for staying with your load, packing, loading and unloading of small quantity HazMat loads. As well as training records that are required for employers to keep. And of course, the why's about it all. They discuss how handling different loads effect you as a driver and go into classes of HazMat materials and more responsibilities. They finish up with the various classes of HazMat, security plans and end with mentioning that this episode is filled with useful links. Especially if you are looking to become a driver specializing in making those extra bucks by hauling some of that high priced HazMat or tankers. Janet specifically mentioned the tanker rollover video. And that 78% of rollovers involve driver error. And the show of course ends in laughter because well, Patrick and Janet! The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: On February 3rd, a freight train consisting of roughly fifty rail cars—ten of which were carrying hazardous materials—derailed in East Palestine near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. According to reports, emergency crews purposefully ignited the contents of several rail cars, attempting to burn-off toxic chemicals. According to The Hill, three more hazardous chemicals have been discovered at the scene of the derailment. Meanwhile, Tom Perkins of The Guardian reports one of the chemicals released is phosgene, which “is a highly toxic gas that can cause vomiting and breathing trouble, and was used as a weapon in the first world war.” Should residents be concerned about health consequences? On Sunday afternoon, United States fighter jets shot down a fourth mysterious flying object—this time flying 20,000 feet above Lake Huron, Michigan. In a news conference following the shootdown, Air Force General Glen VanHerck suggested the objects did not pose a military threat—though, he would not speculate on the origins of the objects. Why won't the Biden Administration be more forthcoming with information? In a statement released on Monday, Senator JD Vance (R-OH) wrote of the Ohio train derailment, “[t]he local fire department has borne the brunt of this catastrophe, and they need resources from FEMA to decontaminate equipment and ensure they continue to operate.”
