As a full-service realtor, Cory’s business philosophy is to give first. This simple notion allows him to establish a level of trust with his clients, which permeates their entire relationship. He knows it is an honor and privilege to represent his clients in achieving their goals and dreams. This humble attitude sets the tone for success! I have lived in many of Denver’s historic neighborhoods and now call City Park my home. I pride myself on supporting local small businesses. I can help you find the best places to dine, shop and have fun! Cory’s time in Colorado has been invested in construction, remodeling, and real estate advising. Being a consummate resource for his clients is the number one goal. “I grew up remodeling and learning how to build equity in real estate, my clients directly benefit from my expertise through my experience”. Negotiating on behalf of the clients’ best interests makes him an invaluable resource. These skills coupled with extensive knowledge of the infrastructure of homes makes Cory a problem-solving partner you must have on your side! As a Certified Military Specialist, he is able to assist veterans and active-duty military. Understanding the specific challenges and differences with a V.A. loan is one more important distinction Cory brings to the table. What You Will Learn: Cory’s journey into real estate How Cory adjusted to straight commission How Cory has been able to thrive in a consultative role as opposed to hard selling The systems and processes that help Cory stay organized as a business owner Why you need to slow down in order to speed up When and how to delegate Additional Resources: Website: https://corywilliams.exprealty.com/ Twitter: @PropertyByCory Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PropertiesByCory LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/propertiesbycory/ Instagram: @PropertiesByCory Phone: 720.971.1863 Book Recommendation: Good to Great by: James C. Collins Work the System by: Sam Carpenter The Round Wheel Rolls Best Throughout his fifteen-year career in the construction industry, Cory Williams learned everything that a sane person should know about residential buildings. His passion fizzled out though, and he wanted to transition into an industry where he could work with people whose goals and visions were aligned with his own. Given his background, real estate was a logical move. Cory was able to leverage his previous, long-standing client relationships to garner support for his new business. He hit the ground running and established himself as a consultative agent focused on educating and empowering everyone he worked with—something that will take you very far in our industry! Put Systems in Place At first, Cory didn’t really have any systems or processes in place; he just ad-libbed. This year, however, putting systems in place has been his primary focus. It is one of the most freeing things he’s ever done because efficient processes keep him organized and streamlined, and enable him to focus strictly on growing his business. The systems come in the form of showing-procedures and programs to help get his agents on their feet. Cory shares the information freely with other agents so they can put their own spin on it. As a result, each team member builds a custom business plan catered to their strengths and the entire business flourishes. Pump the Brakes As Cory said, “the round wheel rolls best,” because he didn’t invent the tactics his team uses. The difference is, everything he does now is intentional and organized. Cory encourages people to take a step back and “put it on paper on purpose.” Sometimes you have to slow down to speed up, and the go-go-go mentality can potentially lead to negative customer experiences. The good news is, you are only hitting the brakes because you’ve built momentum. The energy, motivation, and effort is in place, and somebody out there is willing to help you guide it! If you want to learn more about Cory’s unique strategy, listen to my podcast episode, From Good to Great in Real Estate, with Cory Williams. Cheers!

Today’s episode features the first in-person recording of the Just Fly Performance podcast with Stanford University basketball strength coach, Cory Schlesinger. Cory’s combination of creativity and intuition makes him one of the most unique strength coaches I know, and his passion for the proper physical development of his players shines through in the many podcasts he has been on in the past. He has a decade of experience as a strength coach, and is in his third year as the sports performance coach for the Stanford University’s Men’s Basketball team. He also works with NBA and NFL players along with currently preparing athletes for the 2020 Olympic Games. I’ve known Cory for a little while now, and have wanted to have him on the show for a while, but I felt it would do the most justice to be able to actually sit down in person and record a show, so this marks the first in-person recorded episode of the Just Fly Performance Podcast. Cory’s methodology in the weightroom resembles, to me, the art of a master craftsman, who has a myriad of tools for a variety of purposes. Where some coaches only have a hammer, Cory has the whole set of hammers and then some. The way Cory creatively and intuitively can determine what his athletes need in the gym, instead of what he himself as a coach wants to see is what sets Cory apart in this field. Today on the show Cory and I talk about how to make a true athlete driven training system, and then what it really means to be an athlete and train for it. This episode is also packed with common sense ideas that the modern strength coach can use to better serve athletes. Today’s episode is brought to you by SimpliFaster, supplier of high-end athletic development tools, such as the Freelap timing system, kBox, Sprint 1080, and more. Key Points How Cory sees the creation of an athletic qualities in the weightroom How Cory structures each workout for his basketball players How the strength coach fits in a true “high performance” sport mastery system How to manage athletic performance in light of moving well/absorbing and releasing force/etc. The importance of understanding martial arts in context of coaching athletes How to “athletically” build an NBA body in context of good human movement patterns Cody’s advice on honing creativity in coaching “Our training program is athlete driven, I give the the power of choice” “I give them the category; their needs and their preferences are what drives the results” “Guys are PR’ing in all of their lifts as we go through season, because I’m not putting an emphasis on it and our frequency is so high” “Once you’ve adapted to those adaptable things (college practice schedule, introducing games, being in college for the first time) then let’s start adding volume in the weightroom" “At the end of the day, it’s about the athletes, if they got the gold, it doesn’t matter what training program they are on, they got the gold” “If you are just going to be the weightroom guy, don’t be talking about salaries…. because that doesn’t determine success… you gotta find value in other ways” “I have to give (my tall players living in a short world) their childhood development back” “If you are talking about building better athletes, make them better humans first, and then they’ll be better athletes because they’ll be able to express” “What do you think chronic, heavy lifting is going to do, it’s all braking! Just imagine how good strength coaches would be if they took what the body already came with, and just make that better!” “(Regarding muscle hypertrophy) If you take a weak athlete and you introduce them to general movement patterns and then you generally load it, mass comes” “How I sneak in a lot of volume is… chins and dips. A lot of these guys can get great hypertrophy through bodyweight movements” “Find creative ways to add (lifting) volume that do...

How Cory shows up? By letting his raw and self possessed life show in his work. It’s impossible to talk about what Cory Richards has accomplished in his professional life without looking at what he’s gone through in his personal life. Cory found photography after surviving a painful relationship with his older brother and several attempts at clinical treatment. That early trauma both helped create the ferocity with which he tackled his later endeavors and also a jealousy that’s he’s learned to tame and channel. We don’t just talk about Cory’s accomplishments, like being a National Geographic photographer and a North Face athlete, but what’s it’s like to have actually lived those experiences. That includes the nearly-fatal avalanche that was featured in the award-winning film Cold, which chronicled his team’s ascent of Pakistan’s Gasherbrum II. We also talk about how his iconic self portrait in the aftermath of that event caught him in a raw emotional state, and how he feels about one of his most well-known shots being of himself in the age of social media.Cory has lived a rich life, not always pretty one, not always the perfectly manicured image of an outdoor profesional we are used to seeing plastered across the internet.More than anything, we talk about what goes on in Cory’s head, including what it’s like to deal with trauma, both from his early childhood and his near death experience. We also touch on what it’s like to parse the idea of masculinity in the Me Too era and why, moments from death, what flashed through his mind wasn't his life, but thoughts of parking tickets and Cheerios.https://coryrichards.comThis episode is brought you by: https://wiivv.com

In this episode of Nat Chat, I’m joined by Cory Ames. Cory was going to college at Gonzaga University where he took on an apprenticeship with a marketing agency. His apprenticeship with that agency quickly earned him bigger and bigger roles, where within a couple of years, he was actually running the whole company while being only 23 years old. He figured everything out on his own through various projects in college and by reaching out to others to learn from them. Currently, Cory’s out of that marketing agency and is working on some of his own projects. Cory’s a great model to follow for those wanting to pursue their goals, those wanting to self-educate themselves, and for those wanting to get into entrepreneurial pursuits. We cover a wide range of topics, including: Deconstructing skills and learning them on your own Self-educating yourself outside of the college environment His journey towards running a multi-million dollar company at only 23 years old Finding the confidence to leave school and pursue your goals Promoting your skillset and finding clients for your skills Resources and books that have helped Cory out along the way And much more.
