Episode 33 of Season 6 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 17 Aug 2023. It was a ripper due to me having a great day and a lot of people tuned in. We started off with the ‘No Lullaby' the opening track off Jethro Tull's incredibly strong live album Bursting Out. The show had plenty of variety this week, check out the artists featured below, you should find something you dig, hopefully, a lot. The Immortals this week featured a track called 'Battle Hymns' by the mighty Manowar. This was the title track off their 1982 release, an album that did really well for them. We stayed with the '80s and checked out 1981 for this week's Diabolical Challenge. The albums and tracks selected were: ACDC: For Those About To Rock – ‘For Those About To Rock'Ozzy Osbourne: Diary of a Madman – ‘Over The Mountain'Iron Maiden: Killers – ‘Murders In The Rue Morgue'Rush: Moving Pictures – ‘Red Barchetta' For once we had a clear favorite, Rush's Moving pictures was the album most chosen as the one to be taken if you could only have one. In other news Philistine's debut album has been unbanned and we took a listen to 'Black Mamba'. The album is produced by Theo Crous who has done a great job. On this track in particular Dean Smith shows his amazing ability to generate the feeling of the snake moving, its quite eerie, and incedibly effective. We heard new stuff from Danko Jones and Corey Taylor as well. Check it out and feel free to comment on any of the TSORR social media sites. I am deeply appreciative of the time you spend on TSORR. Artists featured: Jethro Tull, 3 Gun Whisky, Billy Idol, Danko Jones, Left Lane Cruiser, Saxon, Def Leppard, Metallica, Five Finger Death Punch, Rose Tattoo, The Angels, Rammstein, Queensrÿche, Shinedown, Linkin Park, Nita Strauss & Lzzy Hale, Corey Taylor, Mammoth WVH, Van Halen, Rory Gallagher, The Black Crowes, The Stranglers, Gary Numan, Sixx A.M. Manowar, ACDC, Ozzy Osbourne, Iron maiden, Rush, Bruce Dickenson, Tom Petty, Kid Rock, Arch Enemy, The Halo Effect, Philistine, Bruce Springsteen. The Story of Rock and Roll. Episode 47 of season 5 aired at 19h00 on 254 Nov 2022 on Rebel Rock Radio. I was worried the wifi wouldn't hold up with the load-shedding, but we made it. The show kicked off with an old TSORR favourite called 'Tres Borrachos' by Left Lane Cruiser. From there we took a listen to the perennial rock classic that is ‘Hair of the Dog. Nevada Beach were up next with a track called ‘Hollywood. Hank Decken is the main man in Nevada Beach, on guitar and vocals. We will be taking a closer look at Hank in weeks to come because there are a lot of unsung heroes in the rock ‘n' roll business and I reckon Hank may be one of them. We checked out two blues giants, Rory Gallagher and Philip Sayce, but listened to less bluesy tracks for a change. Philip may have been a bit mellow for the early stages of the show so we ramped up a gear with Black Spiders and ‘KISS Tried to Kill Me'. Going back to Philip Sayce for a second, make sure you check out the solo at the end, it proves my theory that the songs are just vehicles for solos like this. We changed pace with Black Spiders and a track called ‘KISS tried to kill Me' off their critically acclaimed (by me) album Sons of the North. The new Soilwork is a really good album and we listened to ‘Death, I Hear You Calling'. You may be aware I am a huge fan of Matthew Good Bands' early work so we took a listen to ‘Carmelina' off the Audio of Being album. Brian Fallon's ‘My Name Is the Night' kept things tidy and then we floored it with In Flames and Parkway Drive. From there we moved to an all-time South African classic by No Friends of Harry, you guessed it the one and only ‘Competition Rules'. Wilko Johnson passed away yesterday, as a RIP we played 'Going Back Home' the title track of the album he did with Roger Daltrey back in 2014. Wilko was a founder member of Dr. Feelgood with vocalist Lee Brilleaux. Dr. Feelgood were often cited as a big influence by the UK Punk era bands such as The Jam and The Clash, so we checked out both with ‘Art School' and ‘Drug-Stabbing Time'. Then it was back to the stuff like The White Stripes and The Bottle Rockets. The Bottle Rockets track 'Radar Gun' sent me off on a little tirade about the police in South Africa. We went back to South Africa for a brand new track from the uber-talented Mark Haze and then we checked out some more Diverted Disorder. The boys from the Vaal are doing good things, the album launch is this weekend. From Diverted Disorder we heard The Cars, I shit you not, The Cars on TSORR!. Why? because it's a great song, and that is why. I totally ran out of time, we squeezed in (or is it squoze :-))? Boston, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, and a brand new track from Disturbed. We finished off with an eight min plus live epic from Black Label Society called 'Stillborn'. Thanks for listening, comments welcome, catch TSORR on the website or Facebook page. Artists featured: Left Lane Cruiser, Nazareth, Nevada Beach, Rory Gallagher, Philip Sayce, Black Spiders, Soilwork, Tremonti, KISS, Matthew Good Band, Brian Fallon, In Flames, Parkway Drive, No Friends of Harry, ZZ Top, Wilko Johnson & Roger Daltrey, The Jam, The Clash, The Cult, The White Stripes, The Bottle Rockets, Texas Hippie Coalition, Joe Lynn Turner, Black Sabbath, ACDC, Motor Sister, Killit, Mark Haze, Diverted Disorder, The Cars, Bad Company, Boston, Def Leppard, Red Beans & Pepper Sauce, Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Black Label Society. Season 5 Episode 13 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio on 31 Mar 2022. We kicked off with some ACDC, the title track of their 2016 release Black Ice. From arguably the biggest rock band in the world we took in 3 lesser-known outfits i.e. Left Lane Cruiser, Monster Truck, and Motor Sister before spending some time with a couple of '70s classics from Rush and Nazareth. 'Zeit', the new release from Rammstein, made its TSORR debut and it's a great track. Zeit means time, so it was fitting to also take a listen to Pink Floyd's wonderful track 'Time' off dark Side of The Moon. The sad passing of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins deserved some TSORR recognition. We took a listen to Taylor with the Foo's in 'All My Life' then a track off his solo EP Kota. The track is wonderfully titled' I've Got Some Not Being Around You To Do Today'. Taylor was way more than just the drummer for the band he was a part of the creative whole, a unique multi-talented character who breathed energy and charisma into the band. From there we took a listen to Dream Widow which is an album Dave Grohl put together as a soundtrack to the Foos 2022 movie Studio 666. Apparently, Dave played drums, guitar, bass and did all the vocals but it's a bit unclear in the literature how much the rest of the band were involved. We took a listen to Bollywood out of India and a track called 'Aaj' off their album Rakshak. It made sense to follow it with 'Ratamahatta' off Roots. Two other tracks that make sense together were Halestorm's 'Break-In' featuring Amy Lee and In This Moment with 'The Fighter'. To restore balance and get the show out of slow, dark, emotional albeit excellent stuff we played out with an energetic couple of tracks from Kiss with 'Rocket Ride', The Distillers with 'Sick of It All' and My Chemical Romance closed the set with 'Welcome To The Black Parade'. P.S. After over 4 years of hoping it was fantastic to announce and celebrate the return of The Gaslight Anthem. They are doing a reunion tour and are expected to record a new album. Happy days. Artists featured: ACDC, Left Lane Cruiser, Motor Sister, Monster Truck, The Screaming Jets, Rush, Nazareth, Quiet Riot, Rammstein, Motörhead, Sanctuary, The Stooges, Pink Floyd, Queensrÿche, Gary Moore, The Dead Daisies, Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, Dream Widow, Coal Chamber, Bloodywood, Sepultura, The Clash, Gary Numan., Dead Kennedy's, The Black Cat Bones, Jack Hammer, Dan Patlansky, L.A. Cobra, Kid Rock, Dino Jelusic with Mendoza, Halestorm feat Amy Lee, In This Moment, The Gas Light Anthem, Kiss, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, The Distillers, My Chemical Romance

Episode 17 was recorded at Midnight on 26 April 2019. Technically it's the best show so far and is pretty much glitch free. As usual I covered a lot of ground, starting with ACDC and finishing with ZZ Top. I played a track from Live at Leeds which was released in 1971 and went all the way through to Kreators' 2017 release Gods Of Violence and Tom Petty's 2018 posthumous release called An American Treasure. The 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's all got a fair shake. As usual we had a bit of Classic Punk, Local SA bands and all the Rock, Metal, Ballads and Blues you have come to expect on TSORR.The show featured among others, ACDC, Chickenfoot, Dio, Iron Maiden, John Mellencamp, Guns 'n' Roses, The Jam, UFO, The Who, ZZ Top, Jack Hammer, Blue Scream, The Stranglers, Kreator, Neil Young, The Black Cat Bones, Left Lane Cruiser, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Blink 182, The New Black, Rory Gallagher, Poison, Oasis, Tom Petty

Scott Colesby, perhaps better known as So-called Someone, is a deep-rooted blues man currently hailing from New Orleans. Scott has a sound that mixes various styles of the blues that traveled I-55 before it came into it’s own. From early pioneers of Robert Johnson & Son House, through John Lee Hooker & Muddy Waters, ending with Black Diamond Heavies and Left Lane Cruiser, So-Called Someone is a trip through what the blues will always be: Raw, honest, working man's music.
