How a softcore porn soundtrack composer, teamed up with the “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly” movie theme whistler, get a boost from a comedian from the '40s, and then get boosted by The Muppets to create one of the greatest earworms… EVER. And as earworm-y as the song is… its creator had zero idea of what he had created. Back in the 1960s pornography was illegal in most of the world so creative people made “nature documentaries'' featuring nudists, among other things, and “Viva la Sauna Svedese” or “Hooray for the Swedish Sauna” was written by Italian composer Piero Umilani for a 30-second clip of Swedish women walking into a sauna. He then threw it into a file of the music he had created for the movie and sold it to a company that wanted U.S. rights. He had so little regard for it he didn't even note its inclusion, and that's where its crazy journey to becoming the greatest earworm of all time takes off! - Welcome to the Quintana Show. De komende weken bespreek ik telkens een hoofdstuk uit mijn boek ‘Do you speak Disney?', telkens een facet van de naam Disney. Vandaag: Disney, de muziek. Gast: Helmut Lotti.

Here we are, the last playoff match of season before next week's championship bout! Returning victors Ian, Megan, and Danny test their knowledge of a thing we do not talk about. Round one will throw a dinner party for our favorite title characters before round two dives into the byzantine logic behind the titling of movie sequels. A customary lightning round caps off a tense match. See you next week for the season finale! NOTES ⚠️ Inline notes below may be truncated due to podcast feed character limits. Sure, "A Day In The Life" is ok, and "Tomorrow Never Knows" is fine, but only one Beatles album closes with maybe their greatest song, "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand". It was certainly Something New for Capitol to close their third Beatles album in German, not to mention generously including 5 songs fans in '64 had already purchased a few weeks beforehand. (#NowOnCapitol!) And yet, because it's The Freaking Beatles, it's such a fun and uniquely Capitol album. Tony and T.J. fawn over this million-seller and along the way ask the hard questions they don't address in Liverpool, like:
