Mike Sjogren is not your typical investor, but he fell into it after a heartbreaking medical challenge. As Mike says, “things were pretty good…I was married, had a decent house in the burbs, a couple of cars in the driveway, and then everything changed…” His son was born with a very rare lung disease. He ran out of vacation time, he ran out of sick time, so he had to leave his wife in the hospital to care for his son while he ‘traded time for money' and went back to his job. He promised his wife that he would create a business so they would have all the money they needed and he would never need to trade time for money again. Mike Sjogren created an Airbnb Empire and has helped many others do the same, but his journey there was not all rainbows and butterflies. Michael is the host of the Short Term Rental Secrets Podcast and founder of the Short Term Rental Secrets Mastermind, a training and mastermind program that helps investors launch, automate and scale their short term rental portfolios. Michael and his wife Krysten founded Occupied, LLC, a national short-term rental investment and management company in 2017, as a vehicle to build passive income so they could stop trading away time from family for a paycheck.
