Arriving at Peridea, the Purrgils run into a minefield left by Thrawn's forces and retreat. Continuing alone, Ahsoka and Huyang are attacked by enemy fighters and hide in a debris field, compelling the Grand Admiral to adopt a more calculated approach. Ahsoka locates Wren through the Force and heads to the planet's surface. Bridger, Wren, and the Noti are attacked by Hati, the bandits Wren had previously encountered, and Thrawn's Night Troopers, while Skoll leaves to pursue his own agenda. Bridger refuses to use a weapon, instead relying on the Force to fight. Ahsoka's intervention forces Thrawn to withdraw his remaining Night Troopers and prepare for his imminent departure. Chapter 8 of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire (1991) (EU: 9 ABY) by Timothy Zahn. The Story So FarThe New Republic and Imperial Remnants are struggling for control of the galaxy, each holding comparable military might and galactic territory. Looking to reverse the tide, the last of the Imperial Grand Admirals has found and bargained for the favour of a cloned Dark Jedi, offering up both the adult and unborn Skywalkers twins. A trap for the Skywalkers was laid and sprung during a diplomatic mission for the Republic to Bimmisaari. However, the unidentified alien commandos were unprepared to face Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. Luke, Leia, and Han escape unscathed but the nature of their assailants are a mystery to them. Chapter 8Captain Pellaeon reports to Grand Admiral Thrawn, detailing the failure of the Noghri to capture the Skywalkers and the recovery of the tech found on Wayland. Dark Jedi Master C'baoth expresses his impatience and a new plan is hatched to capture the Skywalkers; one that suits Thrawn's upcoming plans that necessitate C'baoth presence for a raid on the Sluis Van shipyard. Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, the New Republic are unable to identify the assailants at Bimmisaari, and as a result politics stall. Cassian returns to Ferrix for Maarva's funeral and learns of Bix's imprisonment. Dedra Meero and the local Imperial garrison prepare to use the funeral to take Andor alive for questioning regarding Axis, while Luthen plans—with Vel and Cinta's assistance—to kill Cassian using the Imperial ambush as cover. Mon Mothma continues being surveilled by the ISB, who succeed in stopping Kreegyr's attack but leave no prisoners, angering Meero. Mothma's 13-year-old daughter Leida is introduced to Davo Sculdun's 14-year-old son. During the funeral, B2EMO displays a recording of Maarva, who rallies the populace to attack the Empire, creating a riot in the main quarter. During the confusion, Cassian rescues Bix, while Syril Karn saves Meero from being attacked. Meeting with B2EMO, Brasso, and several others in a shipyard, Cassian convinces them to take Bix somewhere safe away from Ferrix. Moved by the rebellion on Ferrix, Luthen returns to his ship where Cassian is waiting. Knowing that Luthen was there to assassinate him, Cassian offers Luthen the choice to either kill him or take him in, to which Luthen smiles. [SPOILERS] As Cassian tries to break out of jail, it reminded me of the great escape. Bix is exhausted, and she reveals all the information about Cassian to the Empire. As we see the constant degeneration of Ulaf, the team know something is off and he's becoming a major liability for them.  The senate scenes are probably some of my favourite in the show. As we see the senate, thee same one that palpatine and yoda fought in during revenge of the Sith, mon mothma opposes Palpatine's new safety regulations and we hear someone say long live the emperor. This was a huge plan of Palpatine's. He had made the entire galaxy hate the Jedi, even going as far as spending the lie that the Jedi killed senators including padme and even tried to kill him when they came to his office. We see many of the pods turning their lights off, which means they're not interested and not in favour of mon Mothma's political views. He has suspicious-looking tattoos. One of a group called “Krayt Head”, and the other for one called “By The Hand”. Cassian was on Sipo at their youth center, apparently affected by the clan.Skeen gives a quote that is also the episode title; “The axe forgets, but the tree remembers.” He is there for revenge. Skeen is suspicious of him. He tells Clem all about everyone on the team. Clem wants to “win and walk away.”We're back with Mon Mothma and Perrin. She isn't happy when he walks in.He tells Mon the driver is there. Her daughter, Leida, doesn't want to listen to her mother. Mon has a whole schedule planned, but her daughter doesn't want to go. Tensions are high in the Mothma household.Then we are back with Clem and his team. He is talking to his teammates. They give him milk to drink, which Clem throws on the ground. Skeen is very suspicious.Lieutenant Gorn is with the Imperials. The rest of the team gets on outfits. They brief Clem on his backstory. We see Blevin again.They are rehearsing how to March like Imperials. Gorn is their leader.Cassian suggests switching sides. Skeen is left-handed. Their weapon should be on the left side. Clem knows all their tendencies, including which hand they dominantly use. Then there is a flyby of TIEs. They were likely spotted.Gorn is on the inside to lead them. The team is preparing. He is talking to Cinta when Skeen moves his stuff and they get into a fight. Clem prepares and is ready for the mission.Back to Blevin and Dedra. They walk past each other in the halls. Dedra scoffs at him. Dedra is in over her head. She's on some sort of case with another Imperial.We see Clem and his gang burning something. They are all gathering around it, sipping milk. Vel tells Clem to stay focused. They all say, “To the Rebellion.” Then they get on with their travels.We are back with the new sitcom, “Syril and his Mom!” They are once again at odds. They have apparently talked to Syril's Uncle Harlo. Syril is upset.Clem is suspicious of Gorn. He found the love of a woman, but lost his promotion, his taste for the Empire, and the woman. “Everyone has their own rebellion.”Gorn is back! He's unhappy with the fact that the gantry has not been painted. The officers are asking about The Eye of Aldhani. They say morale might be crushed if they don't have an essential roster there tomorrow night.The group is taking a break. Skeen grabs Clem! He threatens him and takes Clem's kyber necklace.Vel tries to calm him down, but Skeen's having none of it. Clem is about to shoot him down. But suddenly, there is a ship approaching. It is heading to the garrison. Clem finally spills the beans and tells them he was paid. He decides to try to reunite the team.Even Cinta, Vel's right-hand woman, didn't know about this development. Skeen has nothing to say.We're back with Perrin and Mon. Perrin is upset that another senator knows more about his wife's plans than he does. He tells the driver, Klorin, to take the expressway in their hoverspeeder.The team is starting a fire. Syril is sitting in his room thinking about where he went wrong and looking at Cassian's photo. Gorn is looking out on the team from afar. The signal is spotted. Vel turns to talk to Skeen about his actions.Skeen is told to talk to Clem. He tells Clem about his brother, who perished at the hands of the Empire. Skeen says that's as close to an apology as Clem's getting. Vel then puts Taramyn in charge, and Vel leaves. I have no clue where she's going.Finally, Luthen is back. He is with some lady and is listening to the radio. She tells him to shut it off. The episode ends.

It's Here!!!! Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now in theaters and we have our first impressions for you. So we're in the thick of our TRIO SIMPATICO holiday hiatus, however we had to break our silence in order to discuss the upcoming STAR WARS film - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!   The first in the STAR WARS anthology movies is quickly approaching and Joshua and David sat down with BRIAN ASHTON to discuss what we expect to see in this all new adventure in a galaxy far, far away! We kick things off with a little intergalactic trivia, testing our STAR WARS knowledge before getting right into our predictions for Rogue One.  We discuss things we want to see, rumors of things we might see, and touch on the elements we don't want to see.   Needless to say if you're attempting to remain completely in the dark about this movie there may be several SPOILERS ahead.  Of course everything at the time of this recording is completely unsubstantiated.  So grab a scrap of paper and keep score, let's see which one of us had the most correct guesses!
