Leaders have a responsibility to connect a task to a purpose. Every job worth doing is worth doing well.Nic and Tarina, in this episode, talk about Chapter 17 from Know This. Do That. They point out how even the menial and mundane tasks demand excellence. No job is too small, or insignificant, for someone to be good at it.As Nic says, the foreman on an oil field needs to tell the fire watch, “You're the most important guy on the job. When you're not here, my welders can't weld.”And just like sealing duct work, leadership is messy, sticky work—and sometimes thankless. But a lot of leaders, unfortunately, feel it's not their job to inspire their apprentices and workers to deliver greatness.Nic shares how growing up on the farm his dad was tough on him and his brother. It was hard because consequences were high. He also talks about failing his first driving test. When you care with intensity, you will do great work. You gotta care.If you enjoy Nic and Tarina's podcast and get something from listening to “all this Nic Bittle Crap,” please hit the like button, share it with a friend, or both. In this episode, Tarina and Nic talk about dropping off their daughter at college. As Tarina says, “Elle is now far, far away.” Nic describes his own moment when it really started to hurt as he watched Elle, during orientation, being too nervous to admit she was nervous.During the orientation session for parents, they explained the “W” model and the likely path and feelings their new freshman would experience their first year. It always starts with a honeymoon period followed by culture shock then a rebound. It's a lot of ups and downs and parents have a job to self-regulate and refrain from trying to fix everything.Chapter 6 and 7 of Nic's book Know This Do That are discussed. As Nic highlights, putting a man on the moon takes someone who's willing to push a broom and clean a toilet. What we take pride in ultimately reflects who we are.The same is true for who we surround ourselves with. If your friends, Nic says, are talking more about what video games they're playing than what investments they're making, you may want to switch things up a bit.Parents do this intentionally when they pick what city to live in, what school to send their kids to, and what church to attend. Nic tells of being the beneficiary of some “Larry Bittle Crap” (runs in the family, I guess) about choosing what pond Nic would fish in. The proof is in the pudding since Nic reeled in Tarina and got his proud angler award. If you enjoy Nic and Tarina's podcast and get something from listening to “all this Nic Bittle Crap,” please hit the like button, share it with a friend, or both. This weeks chapter review is all about how your Habits shape your identity and vice versa. Watch on YouTube "Whatever your identity is right now, you only believe it because you have proof of it. The more evidence, you have for a belief, the more strongly you will believe it. New identities require new evidence. If you keep casting the same votes, you've always cast, you're going to get the same results you've always had. If nothing changes, nothing is going to change. It is a simple two-step process: One. Decide the type of person you want to be. Two. Prove it to yourself with small wins. You have the power to change your beliefs about yourself. Your identity is not set in stone. Do you have a choice and every moment. You can choose the identity want to be in for today with the habits that you choose today. Habits can help you achieve all these things, but fundamentally they are not about having something. They are about becoming someone." James Clear Who are you becoming? Share in the comments below. Modern society has been carefully lacing the idea of masculinity with negativity, calling it toxic, damaging, and unhealthy, when in reality nothing could be further from the truth. Masculinity is not only important to you as an individual, but it's masculinity that builds and maintains the society we all rely on every single day of our lives. It's time to forget society's attempts at telling us our masculinity is bad and embrace it once and for all. And by doing so, you're going to unlock your true potential which will improve not only your life, but the lives of everybody who you need to protect and provide for. My mom and step dad were very hard working people with a strong value system but shamed/mocked me for not being able to easily live up to these standards. Like shoving a kindergartener into college and laughing at them for not knowing calculus. I've always had deep resentment over this and only Just now realizing this. My whole life I just felt mad at my mom but couldn't pin point why. I've been doing lot of journaling to understand where this resentment comes from. It was difficult because she and my step dad are good people and they are also very successful entrepreneurs so I always just felt it was because there was something wrong with me. I'm not as good as they are and I can't run a business and I'm socially awkward. I've spent too many years with a chip on my shoulder over this.Basically, I struggle with deep feelings of inadequacy at certain times in my life. You always recommend we should ask who benefits from me feeling this way. I'm not sure how my inadequacy is a benefit to them. Though I'm not sure who else it would benefit.

Prepare to be floored as we tackle the unsettling sentencing leniency displayed in the cases of Capitol attackers Ethan Nordine and Dominique Pazola. We're shaking the table, discussing the blatant disparity in punishment between these individuals and Black people, irrespective of crime severity. Our indignation doesn't stop there - we're shedding light on the insufficient media coverage these sentencing outcomes are receiving and we're not holding back. We're also peeling back the layers on the Department of Justice's sway over public sentiment, and its role as a potential buffer against mass violence. In a world where Trump's accountability is often downplayed, we're dissecting the unusual case of Joe Biggs' pardon expectations. Mitch McConnell's puzzling inaction is on our radar too. Meanwhile, we're moving beyond the chatter about Biden's age and delving into a more telling aspect - his performance and track record in office. Ep. 129 - Target stores nationwide have fully embraced the gender confusion mania with their new "Take Pride" apparel line. I walked into a store this week to check things out for myself. I saw female-style swimsuits which offered a "tuck option" along with an extra wide crotch for biological males. I saw graphic tees geared toward teen girls featuring large print that said, "Busy thinking about girls." But the worst products by far were the rainbow colored BABY bibs and onesies with text like "I am PROUD of you always." How should we respond to this? How should we navigate this Biblically? As shocking as Target's bold displays are...what if this is simply the natural next step for a society that has rejected God as the Creator? The main idea being - by taking pride in your work and owning your passions, you'll find the drive to master your craft and succeed. Find something you love and be unapologetically proud of it, even if it's just a hobby or side interest. By doing so, you'll attract the right people and have the fuel to keep improving and growing.
