Here, we get deep but don't worry Academicians*, Heather knows how to swim…As I read,“1997 Mother's Day,” I saw a woman who has lived through the trials, tribulations and challenges of transcending Mama Drama Trauma. In it, Heather exposes her vulnerability in dealing with the most excruciating parts of her journey. Well written, sure, but I wasn't expecting this bright little summer read to enlighten me so much about how MDT can develop empathy, what it takes to build courage for self-care, and the transformative power of reframing maternal burdens into blessings. A journey far from easy, I had to invite this authentically witty and unintentionally wise author (and person as you will hear), who gets it.Another author and speaker I adore is spiritual mystic and medical intuitive, Carolyn Myss who teaches about the difference between fate and destiny. She says fate is tied to “we” and survival which is taught by the family, but destiny is about “I” which is something we must define through individual soul alignment. MDT healing is a lifelong journey to the destiny of “I” which in my experience can take multiple lifetimes. In it, we eventually choose to align by integrating the experience as another form of love. - I was very close to smoking weed yesterday. I had a tough day at work and home. And my first thought was that I needed some weed. It will help me take my mind off of all the crap that is going on in my head- But then I paused. Put the phone down and took a deep breath through my nose and out my nose. I did this about five times- Then I remember reading online about addiction, and when you are about to go back to the thing that you quit, in this case, it was weed for me, think about why you quit. Think about the bad things that weed does to you. Think about the things when you did relapse. How did you feel?- And because of that, I was able to put off smoking weed. I didn't want to get high. Buttoning the MoonDo you know, I can press the sky with the silver button of a rising moon? It's high in the stars and I can reach it in my wishing ballon.At midnight, I can climb up high, on an invisible ladder of stairsUp beyond the rooftops, the trees, the clouds, left quiet and unawaresAnd at the top, I can step into the dreaming, the basket of lightAnd let go of the anchor and sail in the balloon, higher and higher, into the rivers of night And along I can drift to the constellations of worlds and times left hidden, lost and unseenTo float across landscapes bridges and cities of millions, all busy and living in my sleeping dreamAnd when I look down upon the great curve of secrets the blue and grey, the changing of skiesI think of our sun, a star, like a blink of daylight in the shrinking tears of our hurrying lives.And so I reach out to the passing streams and rivers, the oceans and mirrors of thousands and thousands of stars And grab two handfuls in the rushing of darkness and turn back from the warning blink of the planet of mars. And when I reach for the moon, this silver button in the blackness of darkness in the the middle of nightI press it with my thumb and switch on the morning for I want it to be beautiful wonderful and light.And then I throw out my stars from the basket and the awakening dreams of my balloonAnd sprinkle them across the morning, the laughing of dawn and the tickling farewell of the moon.

My mentor reminds me to look back at the shore and see how far I’ve come. Today I looked back and there was no shore. How awesome to see speck on the horizon, but no shore behind. I’ve reached the point of no return where it’s shorter to go forward.Like sailors use the stars to guide them. When you can’t see where you’ve come from and you don’t have absolute clarity of where you are going you can always look up and there is someone greater than you that will guide you.Marking progress and keeping score can helps us make adjustments. I have recently had people come to me and want to utilize my gifts as added value for their own clients. It is a beautiful culmination of many years of struggle and darkness for me as I figured out my own Purpose and aligned with my highest truth as it was illuminated to me. One of our call participants mentioned a new family member was just added, a baby girl who was aptly named, DAWN! Signifying new Life, a new Creation!We can express gratitude for the dark nights of the soul because when a new dawn manifests, we feel an exuberance, that is equal to or greater than our pain and anguish of the night.
